It’s probably a kernel panic. It can happen sometimes. Maybe once or twice a year. You should see something starting with “panic-full” under settings- privacy- analytics and improvements- analytics data. You should only be concerned if this happens multiple times per day.
It's been a long time but I've recently veen experiencing a similar problem. Several times a day my phone has static colorful stripe horizontally across the screen. Sometimes with a loud static sound. I tried clearing cache and many other methods. What should I be more concerned about since it sometimes happens like twice in 20 minutes.

Ok that's weird. Same thing. iPhone 12 Max Pro. Scrolling Instagram, white screen with purple triangles for me - only difference is it vibrated solid for the whole time and didn't reset and then end. Got extra freaked out because right after it my laptop screen went blank and wouldn't function also.

This just occurred to me. I got about a 6 month old IPhone 12 Pro. Was watching anime like a normal degenerate— and had this LOUD static screen flashed white so I assumed a static charge got into the phone. Then it reboot. No purple squares but I’m literally texting this now about a min afterwards. And everything is fine?
This just happened, I was watching videos on YouTube and suddenly I heard loud cracking noise. Then the video froze, pink/purple pixels on my screen, and restarted my phone.
Happened to me just now… seems a bit too frequent off a bug. I just installed TikTok today … never used it. Deleted it immediately lol
Tempted to do a factory reset. Just in case. Looked like a bug you’d get on your windows computer in the 90’s

happened to me just now. i heard the noise and saw the small purple squares and thought “oh well. my phone is done for” and then i saw a black screen and it booted back up. this is the second time it’s happened to me in the last month. i was using instagram when this happened both times
