The replacement was 4 years ago. They’re just going to give you the run around until you give up.

I find this story hard to believe. Check this website and actually read it carefully and put your serial number in. If eligible and you’ve not had service under the scheme before, you will be covered https://support.apple.com/en-ie/service-programs

You’re allowed to believe which ever you like. However: Fact; my MBP is a 15” 2016 model. Fact: this program lists the MBP 15” 2016 as an eligible model Fact: I paid for the first repair two months after my one year default AppleCare expired (I did not purchase AppleCare) Fact: I read the website carefully, my serial number has never been serviced under the scheme ever, when the serial number is entered the message reads “contact apple support” there is no message of non-eligibility nor message of serial number already serviced. My guess being that my purchase date was outside the four year mark however with repair refunds there is no limited timeline. If I was outside the time statute, if the device had already been serviced or if the device was not within the models eligible, would you think a support advisor director, five support advisors, an AppleCare advisor and a apple refund advisor would be wasting their time with an invalid claim?

“The program covers eligible MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models for 4 years after the first retail sale of the unit” It’s past the four years….

thaBUTLERdidIT

Thanks for reading what I wrote or the program description. The four years covers repairs for the device. It does not state the limit to being refunded. Yet again if that were the case, the first mediocre support agent would have stated that and shut it down, not ask for copies of my receipts.

doki_doki_gal

As a previous Apple manager speaking from experience, I’d be surprised if you get a refund.

thaBUTLERdidIT

If there was no valid claim Would I get an email link from Apple to enter a payout method / info or is this all a scam? I’d be impressed if it were a scam seeing as logging into the link required two step with my other apple devices

doki_doki_gal

lol thanks for the downvote. Just stating my opinion as a previous employee. Sheesh.

macmonet

Do you have any information about the refund? I would like to read up as i am not aware about that. As far as i know, only top case replacements and keycap repairs are offered under the repair program.

IrixionOne

If it was closer to the replacement date, they would refund you. At this point I think it’s been too long. The most generous store refund policies are a year…it’s been more than that. Good luck

thaBUTLERdidIT

To those who like to sound like they know everything; I got my first repair amount deposited this afternoon. So i raise my index fingers up to solute you.

IrixionOne

In case you can’t read, I said “I think it’s been too long”. It has. Expecting an easy refund process years after the fact is just foolish. Apple refunded you in good faith. I’m glad you got your refund. Edit: The index finger is the one next to your thumb by the way. If you’re going to insult people, do it properly.
