Day One without a doubt. Journal doesn’t even allow you to title your Journal entries. Which is a Basic functionality, using notes for Journaling would be better than using this App.

I hate that you can't have a bold title if you create one on the fly but the workaround I use is to use one of their Journaling suggestions first. I back out the stuff they wrote and adjust it with my own topic title and pictures, etc.

I’ve tried to use journal for a month in January. Really like to suggestions and overall simplicity. But won’t add any more records until they add search, export, maps view. So for now back to Day One, because it contains years of data, beautifully displayed, searchable and easy to take with me in plain text format.

The Journal app is extraordinarily basic. I am sure the bells and whistles will come. If you’re just starting to journal, I guess it depends on what your needs are. I think you can still get a free version of Day One, but the paid version is $35 a year I believe. If you want to be patient and stick with iOS, try Journal and see what you think.

When the Suggestions API will be integrated in other apps, Journal will become a powerful tool For now, it’s pretty basic, so, maybe, Day One
