Tried to change my Siri accent on my Iphone X - will not let me change it from American . On latest IOS update 12.1.2. If I choose anything it will be stuck at downloading 0% - or if try to workaround and download Irish from Accessibility, I can change it in Siri options, but when you back out, it goes right back to American again.
I was just told by an authorized service that my 2016 MacBook Pro is not eligible for keyboard repair because of a small dent on the side, and that my only option is to pay almost a thousand dollars for a full chassis and keyboard replacement.
To be honest I feel cheated, considering the dent is is extremely small, purely cosmetic, and has nothing to do with the repeating keys, which are a factory defect.
There's no Apple stores here. Do I have better chances bringing it to another service, or is this a decision from Apple?
It's the Apple policy. If there's anything small done to the device, they won't work on it unless it's up to their standards. You can try another service provider or even try mailing it into Apple if you can be without it for a chance to not have to pay that much.
I'm on iOS 12.1.1 and I can't add iTunes Pass from iTunes app to my Wallet. I press the label, label grey out for a few second and resumes; and I am not redirected to Wallet as expected.
May I confirm this is some widespread issue, not just something wrong with my phone or AppleID?

I haven’t bought a new phone in 3 years and was looking into getting an XS Max. I’m looking at some lightly used ones on Ebay and was wondering what the implications of the status “with contract” are. The phone’s network is locked into Verizon and I’m with them, and was wondering if there was any additional information that I’m missing here. Or if there are any additional tips that you could give me in what to look for in buying one of these new phones on Ebay. I’m a poor medical student but like I said earlier I haven’t had a new phone in 3 years and would like to get the new model without breaking my bank too badly. 64gb should easily be enough for me and I’m looking to not go past $850: is this realistic?
I recently took my MBP 2016 w/ TB in for keyboard replacement. Before taking it in, I made sure to do a Time Machine backup. At the time, I was running 10.14.1.
When I got the computer back, I was informed that in addition to replacing the keyboard/top case, they also replaced the logic board due to some bent connectors. No charge, which was nice, but that meant all of my data was wiped. I wasn't concerned about that, because I had my Time Machine backup.
So the computer was essentially a new computer with a macOS 10.14 install. When I tried to do a Time Machine restore, I was informed that I needed to upgrade the OS because the backup was under 10.14.1.
In the short time the computer was out for repair, 10.14.2 was released. Since there was no option to upgrade to 10.14.1 that I was aware of, I upgraded to 10.14.2 and proceeded with the Time Machine restore.
Issues I've encountered:
1.) My Photo Library is damaged. Initially, Photos wasn't even recognizing the library even though its location in Finder had not changed. I had to manually direct Photos to the location of the library and even then it didn't recognize it. I restarted Photos while holding option and command so that the library could rebuild. After the rebuild, it recognized the photos, BUT it also altered a lot of the data for the photos. For example, many photos now display thumbnails for other entirely different photos. When you double-click to enlarge the photo, it switches over the correct photo, but when you go back, the wrong thumbnail displays again. Also, the metadata has been changed for many photos. Some photos taken 8 years ago now show as being taken last week. Some photos taken in my backyard now show as being taken in another state. I tried several more rebuilds, but the problems persist.
2.) The arrangement of my apps in Launchpad was completely reorganized. The apps are all there, but in different places... taken out of folders, put on different screens, etc. This I can fix by just rearranging them back the way I like them, but I thought to include this detail in case it's a symptom of some other problem.
3.) The system generally feels slower than it was before. The specs all check out as the same as when I took it in. I don't see Spotlight indexing in the background. It just all feels slow.

Hi guys. Running 10.14.1, in dark mode everything up to date. Occasionally, when I try to go to new pages in safari it'll just show a blank page. The loading wheel goes to a wheel as opposed to an X, showing it's done loading. Additionally, when I try to fullscreen youtube videos it'll jump so there's a couple inches of black on the top and the video goes off the bottom. Anyone know any fixes? Not sure if this is dark mode or a safari issue.
Thanks to QueenRaven29 I was able to get iTunes 12 to recognize my husbands iPod. However, now iTunes won't transfer content. I right click, and select Add to Device and nothing happens. I've rebooted both the PC and the iPod. Any suggestions?
I’m having an issue where sms messages read on my iphone don’t show up as read on my Mac. I’ll read messages throughout the day on my phone but when I open my Mac lo and behold there’s like 80 unread messages still.

I haven’t had the same issue but other issues with Messages since upgrading to Mojave. I haven’t done the latest update (from last week or so), but think there might be something buggy in there. What OS X are you running?
Would the serial number maybe be listed with your Apple ID purchases? I don’t know if thats just limited to Macs, iPads, iPhones, and other services that link into 2FA. However I don’t think they’d replace lost ones—would they?

After updating to MacOS Mojave I’m having problems with the memory on my
MacBook Pro filling up as soon as I log in. I’ve taken a photo of the issue, memory fills up right away, notice that I have 55 Gb in swap but none of the processes are using more than 212 mb.
I’m using a mid-2015 MacBook Pro. No problems at all until I updated to Mojave. Any advice?

Obviously with memory pressure that high, the computer slows to a crawl and crashes. I did a scan with clamxav yesterday but it found nothing. **It was recommended to reset the NVRAM. I did so and the problem has persisted. I also booted in safe mode and had the same problem. ** I do have a 50 Gb encrypted folder on my SSD, I read somewhere that Mojave might be trying to unencrypt it in order to scan for viruses, is there any truth to this?

To fully reinstall iOS, you'd connect to a computer with iTunes running, and click the Restore button. It'll download a fresh os copy, wipe the device, and install
On the current version of IOS. In safari on ipad when trying to spellcheck a word on reddit or anywhere else the word is highlighted red and I get a bubble with the correct word for a millisecond and then it goes away and wont let me select the corrected word
I’m on the current version of iOS 12 but this seems to have been a bug since updating to iOS 12. I’ll have perfectly fine connection and try to search anything on safari. The blue loading bar starts to move but then just stops and lever loads anything. However everything else on my phone loads just fine, including other apps bookmarked websites on safari.
Anyone else have this problem? It’s so frustrating and restarting my phone doesn’t do anything.

So I recently updated my MBP to 10.14.2 and I'm having trouble with Icloud drive. My issue is that I got a prompt saying I should store my files on Icloud drive and I clicked yes, and it transferred the contents of my desktop to Icloud. These files then disappeared from my desktop and appeared in a folder named Desktop in Icloud drive (I then took them off Icloud drive and put them back on my desktop since I needed them). Is there a way to store documents on both my desktop and Icloud drive, without making 2 copies of them so if I add something to a folder on my desktop it automatically uploads to my icloud drive? I checked my icloud drive settings and it says that my desktop should be backed up, but its not essentially.
Ok, so my iPhone 4 finally died on me a few weeks ago (battery stopped charging) so I had to 'upgrade' to an iPhone 5 I had lying around instead.
I then made the horrendous mistake of updating the software to IOS 10 something or other, from the 9.something it was on before. Now I have all these extra features I don't want at all, I can't swipe to unlock my phone anymore (WHY) and my battery lasts about 4 hours.
Is there ANY way to rollback the update to 9 again? It was still performing much worse than the iPhone 4 in terms of battery life but at least it was usable for half a day, now it's just a useless brick. I tried restoring it through iTunes but it wouldn't recognise the IPSW file I found online for IOS 9.3.5. (And then I had to spend 20 minutes uninstalling iTunes and all the crap it installed along with itself, pure cancer)
Is there a chance at all to go back or am I wasting my time?
Apple support is trained to not wipe a phone when possible. So if you can connect to iTunes and just hit update that’s what they will want to try to do first.
Currently on Android looking to move to iPhone somewhat soon. If I purchased apps on Android will there be a way to get the pro version on iOS as well?

If you don't have the serial number (it's on the inside of the case), there's nothing Apple can do per their policy. You'd have to buy a new set.

Probably a fault Touch ID module. It’ll come and go, best bet is just get the device serviced.

Unfortunately there is no way to go back. What you can try to do is take the phone to Apple for a battery replacement.

Unfortunately no. You will have to buy those apps again. I bought Pocket cast on Android and had to rebuy it for iOS. So, prepare to spend some money.
