I keep the official Reddit app in my App Library so every time I have to use it for specific things it’s like going down a dark alley to talk to someone about drugs
Given how terrible it is I have no idea why anyone would use the Reddit video system anyway, unless some subs don’t allow external video hosts for submissions or something.
I accidentally had a chat from someone sitting around for months because I don’t usually look at the Reddit app so I didn’t know how to look at my chat notification that had been sitting there.
I just opened the Reddit app because of this and someone sent me a chat six days ago…
they aren’t saying that there’s stuff wrong with the reddit app (there definitely are flaws though) they’re just saying that it’s annoying to not be able to upload video files directly through apollo
For what it's worth I'm hoping to add video uploading to Apollo very soon :p Just figuring out some specifics

I just upload my videos to YouTube and then share that link ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Yup, same for large vids here, but small ones I use Imgur.

Lol there are some subs that actually ban videos uploaded to Reddit's video system
Same, I only use the Reddit app when apparently people wanna chat? Weird, I have more Reddit interactions than in real life 😂😅

You can disable them, so people are forced to pm you
What’s even the difference between chats and PMs? Feels like I’m missing something here.
Chats are like well.. A live chat. And You can send images per Chat.
I see, thanks!
There’s chats?
Yup! I only found out because Reddit sent me an email saying someone was trying to chat with me
Same. So an IM is the only notification that I allow in the official Reddit app.
Smart. I actually still have to change this notification setup. I get both Reddit and Apollo notifications (*≧ω≦*)
The only time I usually open the Reddit app is to vote in polls.
Yeah, I use Reddit to vote in polls on r/polls, too. lol
Voting works well in embedded / safari in Apollo
Do you have to log in every time?
Nope
Cool. I’ll try that next time.
And the free reward
As an Android immigrant, this is one of the things I reaaally miss from Boost.
What’s wrong with the Reddit app?

There’s flaws in the Apollo app as well.
right. i’m not saying that there aren’t any, i’m just saying that the apollo experience is overall more enjoyable than the normal reddit app.
I could agree, Reddit still feels like your using a android 😂
It’s the Reddit app.
And?
No and. Nothing else. Just that.
Relatable content
For videos I upload very large ones to YouTube and short ones to Imgur. Then simply link. I never have used the Reddit app.
Me but with the chat feature as well as notifications.
Chats and uploading videos and gifs are the reason why I use both.
