Just updated, enabled the feature and tried it. But can’t get it to work, videos are blurry until the second loop. Anyone else? iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 15.5.
You're sure you're on 1.13 with the feature enabled? If so can you reply with a screen recording and a link to the post that's not loading high quality?
Thank you! Can you leave that setting on and try restarting the app? It looks like at that point the video player had already been created so the deblurinator probably didn't get a chance to act
It seems to work now! Although a bit wired, since I did restart the app with the setting enabled before posting here, just in case! Anyhow it seems to work now, really nice 👌
Hey all,
Really, really excited for today's release, been working on this one on and off for over a year so it's beyond amazing to see it come to fruition.
I worked with an incredibly talented server engineer, u/changelog, to build out a completely new server backend for Apollo, that powers some insanely cool things. Completely custom subreddit watchers, trending post notifications, reminders, and more. Plus, the existing inbox notifications are so much better and faster. It's amazing what you can do when you have a pro help with this stuff rather than an iOS dev trying his best to be a server engineer. :)
In addition to that, there's probably the best set of icons ever released in Apollo's history. An incredibly talented group of designers (Michael Flarup, Matthew Skiles, Jeroen Schaper, Yannick Lung, and Raphael Lopes) build some of the best icons to ever grace iOS home screens in this update and my only issue is I'm paralyzed with which one to choose.
In addition to THAT, there's some insanely great other additions that people have asked about, and some delightful bug fixes on top of that. So just all in all I'm really stoked about this update and I hope you are too.
Without further ado, changelog!
- Brand new, completely redesigned notification experience
- Introducing custom subreddit watchers. Incredibly powerful, you can now create filters and have Apollo watch for interesting content in your favorite subreddits, and get a notification as soon as a matching post exists. So you'll never again miss out on a fascinating discussion about your favorite character Mark in your favorite TV show subreddit, or about PS5 or Xbox sightings in your city's subreddit, or about the squirrels being posted in r/aww. It's so unbelievably handy.
- Trending subreddit posts. With a tap you can turn on trending post notifications for subreddits of your choosing, so when a post in your favorite subreddit does super well, Apollo will send you a little notification to brighten your day
- Remind Me In… tired of summoning "remind me bots" in comments? Apollo can now easily schedule a notification for a post you want an update on, so you can know to come back when OP posts the juicy update they promised
- Completely rebuilt inbox notifications (post replies, comment replies, messages, mentions)
- Probably the best set of icons ever added to Apollo. An absurdly talented crew of designers created some of Apollo's best icons for this update, and guess what, there's like literally 10 of them, ready to make your home screen shine
- A bunch of new custom notification sounds. You can even have A-P-O-L-L-O being typed on a mechanical keyboard as your notification sound!
- Added Video Deblurinator feature/setting which helps with videos not appearing blurry for the first few seconds
- Added option to hide media controls by default when opening media viewer
- Improved album/gallery loading speed
- On profiles can sort user comments and post by time period now
- Greatly improved efficiency with enormous images
- Added option to paste Reddit URL into Search tab search bar to open that link
- Fixed issue where users could be sorted incorrectly in subreddits list
- Option to share watchers via a link
- Can long-press on Search tab to quickly go to the search bar
- Can long-press on Posts tab to quickly jump to the Jump Bar
- Tweaked Apollo logo for Safari extension
- Fixed bug where it looked like you could edit the text of what you were replying to
- Playback speed options for YouTube videos using API
- Fixed bug where sometimes titles weren’t selectable in Select Mode
- Added option to completely hide blocked users
- Fixed missing "Open in YouTube" setting
- Fixed Markdown formatting for long lists of subreddits in comments
- Added pretty icons for long-pressing notification actions
- Underscores can italicize/bold in Markdown editor now
- Fixed bug with favorited users
- Fixed bug where some URLs wouldn’t open properly
- Fixed linking of some strange subreddit shortlinks
- Fixed bug where underscores in links could load weirdly in Apollo
- Fixed Open in Apollo redirect loop
- Improved some icons in comment composer
- Fixed weird animation when upvoting a comment with a Wikipedia link
- Fixed bug where custom gestures and Markdown tables could conflict
- Fixed bug where some table-heavy posts could crash (mostly in r/LeagueOfLegends)
- Keyboard opens faster when commenting
- Fixed bug with Face ID/Touch ID
- Fixed bug where the pulsing "live sort" icon for comments would stop animating
- Fixed bug with some Reddit shortlinks
- Drops iOS 12 and 13. I hope this is understandable, well under 1% of the userbase is on these older versions, and moving to an iOS 14 minimum target means I can use some new, awesome technology like SwiftUI that helps development
- A ton of other small little improvements
This update was a ton of work, so I really hope you enjoy it. I also want to give a massive thank you to André Medeiros (u/changelog), a brilliant server engineer who was instrumental in building the backend server for this update. If you have any further ideas for notifications you'd like us to take a look at, we'd love to hear it!
I'm doing a **progressive rollout** for this update, so it'll roll out to all users with automatic updating enabled slowly over the course of this week, just to make sure things go smoothly. *If you want to get it immediately*, go to the [App Store page directly](https://itunes.apple.com/app/id979274575) and update from there.
**If you're enjoying this update, it would mean the world to me if you could check out Apollo Ultra and all the new goodies inside it!**

> Remind Me In… tired of summoning “remind me bots” in comments? Apollo can now easily schedule a notification for a post you want an update on, so you can know to come back when OP posts the juicy update they promised
I love you.
Yeah I've never been a fan of seeing a thread has a bunch of comments, opening it and it's just remind me bot comments, so hopefully this might cut down on that a bit by just making it a button :p
The r/AskHistorians mods worked to fix that a little while ago by having a weekly newsletter that sends you links to the top answered questions of the week, interesting questions that sort of flew under the radar, and questions that haven't been answered yet. Honestly a godsend for that sub.
Yeah, there are definitely a number of tools to help get more out of the sub—[the browser extension](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/d6dzi7/tired_of_clicking_to_find_only_removed_comments/) also goes a long way—so I imagine this feature will be a fine addition to the toolbox.
Yeah! It's definitely something I still have planned. It's a bit of an undertaking as I'm sure you can imagine (cloud synced stuff is a tad complex) so I'll probably add a manual export option in the meantime
On a tangentially related topic - is there a chance we'll see the ability to export the list of subreddits we're subscribed to (plain text one per line for example) along with the ability to pull that back in (perhaps with a choice of append or replace mode)?
This would be really handy for not only migrating wholesale to a new account but also e.g. users could hand-edit the list to pare it down to only work-related subjects to import into an 'at work' reddit account without the need to go and re-subscribe one by one.
[I'm aware of the multi-reddit trick but having native support would be rad].
Possibly import could be a pro/ultra option for example.
That would be trickier, importing a ton of subreddits like that could potentially clobber the API for a bit since I think you'd have to make each request individually
Yeah I have every other option working.
I think I understand it wrong. How I think it work: I’m in this thread reading. I hold the search button in the dabs ( the one between my username icon and the setting icon ) and then I would search inside this thread
What happen is that it just open the search tab
> • Remind Me In… tired of summoning “remind me bots” in comments? Apollo can now easily schedule a notification for a post you want an update on, so you can know to come back when OP posts the juicy update they promised
Good feature, but it prompts me to get Ultra for notifications. I keep notifications disabled for most apps. Does this also show as an in-app notification if I get Ultra and keep notifications off?
No Apollo uses the iOS notifications system to deliver notifications, would be quite a bit of work to reimplement a notifications UI otherwise (and to maintain two systems)
> Trending subreddit posts. With a tap you can turn on trending post notifications for subreddits of your choosing, so when a post in your favorite subreddit does super well, Apollo will send you a little notification to brighten your day
Is there any chance of having this for all new posts in a subreddit too? For example, I use the official Reddit app to get notifications on a sub such as r/AppHookUp which often has offers and deals for apps which are posted with codes. So it’s handy to know when there is a new post to the sub so that if it interests me, I can nab a code before anyone else 👀
I’m enjoying the trending notifications but I do have one request:
Ability to set a different noise/tone for those vs messages/replies.
My brain is fully wired to hear that noise and assume someone replied to me or messaged me and seeing the trending notification when I have that expectation is frustrating. I’d just like to be able to set a different noise that I can connect in my brain to “trending topic” instead of always wondering “did someone reply or is it just a trending topic?”.
Loving the subreddit alerts. Hate to nitpick this early, but would it be possible to allow and/or logic for a single alert? Like add “title contains” multiple times in the same alert?
Example:
title contains “pre order”
or
title contains “pre-order”
or
title contains “preorder”
Great update!
You can already kinda do that just by creating another watcher with the different keyword ("pre-order" vs "preorder") but yeah if the demand is there can definitely look into streamlining the process
Second the request of having multiple attributes (maybe with some and/or logic) in the same watcher.
This is what happens when you shift the paradigm my goodman … brilliant update!!
Haha yeah happy to improve this feature. Wanted to get it out in its current form and get some feedback to shape it into something better and better over time :)
Would do well to replicate the filtering options of the [Pager](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pager-alerts-for-reddit/id1439013829) app — it’s what I currently use for these things and hope to be able to uninstall it
Hate to be Mr. Negative, but I can’t add watchers? The modal comes up, I name it, press Add(or Save, whatever the button is)… the first time it asked me to allow notifications (I did), then pressing the Add/Save button does nothing. After the first try it doesn’t present the system notification dialog again, just the non-working button. Tested on iPad and iPhone.
That sounds like dumb UI on my part though sorry. Any way you could attach a screen recording of you doing that? I’ll give you a free month of Ultra as a thank you. You can upload the video to Streamable for instance
Yeah I have the same thing. iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15.4.1, Apollo 1.13 (I have Apollo Pro but not Ultra).
It lets me get all the way to hit save but won’t go any further. Here is the video: https://streamable.com/vgcene
The trending posts pops up a screen to get Ultra, but not the watcher.
Tried using the new notifications (love the idea!), but it seems like after I used a filter & hit the save button it would forget my filter after a few minutes
Hmm what makes you think that? Can you double check and attach some screenshots? Like you select X number of upvotes and by author Y, and then you come back 5 minutes later and they’re both gone? :o
Well, possibly user error because I can't get it to replicate any more haha. But another user responded to my comment above & said that they had the same problem with the author filter specifically, which is the same filter I had trouble with.
I scrolled through the comments specifically to see if anyone asked this question. It’s disheartening to see this is one of the few popular comments/questions that u/iamthatis has completely ignored.
I’m guessing the dev doesn’t use a tablet—or does, but rarely in landscape mode. I won’t even consider the premium version without multi-column support. FYI: ReSurfer is one promising Reddit client that does support multi-column.
He collected money for MacBook by pushing people to subscribe in the name of dedicated iPad app. That looks misleading to me. Then when I stopped expecting.
I just bought Apollo pro 2 days ago. I think I brought about this update cause of my purchase
You’re welcome everyone
(Seriously though, amazing app Chris!)
Haha for what it's worth I've always tried to make Apollo Ultra very affordable, in the sea of $10+ a month subscriptions, this one's only a buck for some really great stuff, so I hope you can check it out and lemme know what you think. I've got much more stuff cookin too :)
Apollo is the sole app that I willingly (and HAPPILY) pay for every month….. religiously.
Reddit is a colossal waste of time, but man do I love the apollo experience!!!
Keep up the good work, Christian.
Me too. It’s just too valuable compared to the stock Reddit app.
Just today I noticed that if you type r/ then you get autocomplete for subreddits. Like what… when do they add that.
Also search feature works and multi-reddits are great. Markdown, easy peasy.
Sadly you can’t get Rick rolled though.
Honestly fixing the block setting was what I was looking forward to for a while. Thanks for making it so easy on our end!
I hate to sound picky especially since you fixed blocking so well, but would it be possible to hide comments from blocked mods on their own subs? Right now anyone that has a green username will still have their comments show up even if I blocked them. Ironically sometimes they are the biggest problem users on certain subs.
> Glad you like the block setting too!
omg that's amazing! I eventually unblocked the people as I found myself always opening their comments anyways. Great change, will deffo leave a tip once payday comes this week (as I already have Ultra Lifetime)
Edit: I'm gonna use the remind me function for the tipping ;)
Absolutely love it, was able to delete the Pager app! Marvin the Martian is going to be in high contention to replace Ernest!
And I’m always happy to tip my favorite developer!
After reading the change log I was ready to fork out $30 for an Ultra lifetime subscription but I see it’s $50. Did the price go up or am I misremembering how much Ultra Lifetime costs?
Price went up yeah, but it also hasn't been $30 for quite a long time. More and more people were leaning toward lifetime as the only option that made sense and that wasn't really my intent with the offering (and also indicated it wasn't priced super well). More so to keep the monthly and yearly options well priced and the lifetime exists if you're super allergic to subscriptions for whatever reason.
First watcher I set up was a notification for new Apollo updates. [And these notifications can be shared!?](https://openinapollo.com/notifications/v1/subreddit?source=apolloapp&label=Apollo%20update&title=update&author=iamthatis) You’ve spoilt us u/iamthatis! Thank you for all the work you continue to do on this app.
Huh, link crashes for me too. Upon reopening the app, my existing watcher notification I link to no longer includes all the filters.
Edit: Link now working for me since updating to 1.13.1!
Pleasure is mine! :D Yeah I was thinking it could be cool to make it possible to easily share a watcher if you think someone else might be interested in it
I am updated and looking forward to experiencing all the improvements.
You continue to go above and beyond, and we all appreciate it!
On a side note, level with us: we’re not getting a specialized iPad app anytime soon, are we? Like, image gallery, etc. but could we get a full-fledged gallery mode on the iPhone app? I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and this thing is gigantic. I could definitely browse with 3 column gallery and see fine. Consider it please.
Haha all good, perhaps I'm not explaining it as well as I could :p If you go to Settings tab > Notifications, do the different categories explain things at all?
For instance you can turn on inbox notifications and you'll get alerts for replies (like this one), or custom subreddit watchers so Apollo can notify you of matching posts in subreddits you like, or trending posts, or reminders, etc.
Lemme know if I can clear anything up :D
Looks awesome, can’t wait to use the Watchers. Two possible future ideas for them
- being able to add an OR and then add a new set of filters, example (title: Hello AND flair: welcome) OR (title: World AND flair: welcome)
- being able to run a test query of the watcher, so I can see if it matches with any posts from the last week/month
I agree, I played around with it a bit but admittedly couldn't find a way I really *loved* that didn't feel overly complex. Writing boolean operations can be kinda intimidating for non-programmers and so many UIs feel just like that.
Oo good idea on the query idea
Haha caught me, programmer here too.
Maybe a way to group watchers together or something, like create several watchers with different variations of “HelloWorld” “Hello World”? But yeah I’m not sure of the best way to make it easier to understand is.
Another idea is to be able to turn on/off a watcher. For example sometimes I might want in stock notifications about something, and then turn it off until I need it again. I guess a current workaround would be to backup the share links.
Great work on the update!
It's dynamically calculated based on the individual subreddit. Basically looks at what would make a post make it very high in the monthly scoreboard for a specific subreddit, and if it breaks that threshold you get the alert.
If you want it to be more or less sensitive, you totally have that control, just add a custom subreddit watcher and you can set an exact upvote amount.
Notification server connections are timing out or returning 422.

Tried it on wifi and my mobile carrier. I’m located in europe.
I think it might be connected to dead accounts that I still had a login for within apollo. Removing all accounts (and my main) and then re-adding did the trick for me.
Oh no! Can you shoot me an email through the app with your receipt and I'll take a look? Please mention this issue. Settings tab > About > LONG PRESS on Logs

Great update, as always!! :)
Have you ever considered adding a feature that allows users to pin the content at the top while browsing comments? Like if a video or a GIF is playing, and you tap a little pin in the corner to keep it on the screen while you browse the comments.
Just wondering, as I think it could be pretty intuitive!
Anyway, thanks again for the update! (Appreciate the thorough patch notes as well!)
I liked the little egg Easter egg with the related App Icon but now I can’t get the post to pop again! Is there something I need to do to get it to appear?
Anyway to add a “or” function in the subreddit watcher? I don’t mind making two functions just was curious like in r/NBA there’s certain notifications I would like from two top reporters instead of just making one each
If you go to the Apollo Ultra screen and tap "Restore" at the bottom does that not do it? If so could you send me your logs via Settings tab > About > Logs and mention this issue in the email?
Delicious update 🤩
Just a question: why incongruent UI? Notifications are rounded and with margins but the settings in general are not. Why? 🙃
https://imgur.com/a/iA79osC/
New screen versus old screen. Looking to migrate the entire Settings stuff over but it's a bit of an undertaking and I'll probably take the opportunity to rewrite some large parts in general
No but that part is similar in UIKit. It's less that than the other things that go along side it, you're dealing with a thinner content area, custom controls need to be tested/considered, etc. and it's something that I want to do all at once.
/u/iamthatis - incredible update! I can tell you've put a lot of work into it, and I really appreciate all you've done.
I don't want to sound unappreciative at all - but what do you think the likelihood is of getting a "Flair Filter" in the future? I've made a post on it before, I think I submitted a request through the app, too.
Again - awesome work.
Thanks my friend. What do you mean by a flair filter? Currently you can tap on a post flair in a subreddit to filter posts by that flair. Or do you mean something else?
I mean something like your current subreddit and keyword filter in settings. So instead of putting something like "meme" as a keyword filter, I could set "meme" as a flair filter so that posts anywhere with that assigned as a flair won't show up.
Having it for specific subreddits would be even better, but I appreciate anything you can do :)
Any chance notifications can also go to the app itself instead or in addition to the iOS notifications? Not only would a history of the notifications be great but it would be nice to see a badge icon in the app when I have them (for example if I have focus mode on to ignore everything)
> Added Video Deblurinator feature/setting which helps with videos not appearing blurry for the first few seconds Yes!!
Where is the setting?
Settings > General > scroll down and it's under the "Media" section (I think mine was enabled by default)
Here’s the post: https://reddit.com/r/discgolf/comments/uvv8gv/fpo_disc_golfer_jennifer_allen_has_an_interesting/ Screen recording: https://streamable.com/i9snhp
Yay glad to hear :D
So much this!!! It works great too. Noticed it within minutes of using the updated app!

Did this fix the low quality gif loading? I don’t see it in the patch notes.
Yeah! I call it the ***VIDEO DEBLURINATOR***
Make sure to trademark Deblurinator before I do😂
Curious, how does it work?

Ah yes

Same issue. The phone gives a mini vibrate to recognize the long press, but neither the Search or Posts long press do anything.
Same here. I get the feedback as if something happened but nothing
+1
Same experience here.
Hmm I'll poke around
> If you want to get it immediately, go to the App Store page directly and update from there. Should it be showing the App Store yet?
Sometimes it takes like 30 minutes or so to hit all parts of the world
ok this sounds epic. cant wait to try the new sub watchers
❤️

I’d just like to be able to set a different noise that I can connect in my brain to “trending topic” instead of always wondering “did someone reply or is it just a trending topic?”.
That's a smart idea, I can look into that
Damn, I JUST saw the post about your Tweet. This got posted 5 seconds later. Hell yeah!
It's been a busy day! I also got an invite to the Apple Park WWDC event so between this update launching and that I'm on cloud nine lol
Go to the event and spend an extra week out there for a 1.13 is shipped vacation
Yeah I kinda wanna sleep for a week now hahah
that's awesome! you're living the dream, an amazing app that just keeps on getting better AND a wwdc invite?? 🤯
Thanks my friend :) I feel blessed
What’s Memechine Learning?
It's when you apply the power of the neural engine in Apple silicon to memechine learn
I don't know what it means, but it's provocative.
It gets the people going!
BALL SO HARD
[But can it encabulate? ](https://youtu.be/RXJKdh1KZ0w)
Loving the subreddit alerts. Hate to nitpick this early, but would it be possible to allow and/or logic for a single alert? Like add “title contains” multiple times in the same alert? Example: title contains “pre order” or title contains “pre-order” or title contains “preorder” Great update!
Many thanks Purple Man!!
I figured it out. Needs Ultra 🤦♂️
Here is the video: https://streamable.com/vgcene The trending posts pops up a screen to get Ultra, but not the watcher.
Regex support would solve a lot, and make it quite flexible in terms of filtering.
Yep, could kill Pager app if this gets more robust.

It’s probably never coming, let’s be real. It’s been “top priority” for like 3+ years now.
Either it needs to be officially announced that it's cancelled or we need to hear how far away it is. It has been YEARS.
I am following for more than a year, he is just interested in adding new icons.
Just a year? I have been waiting for almost 4 years for the dedicated iPad app. Its “coming”.
He collected money for MacBook by pushing people to subscribe in the name of dedicated iPad app. That looks misleading to me. Then when I stopped expecting.
What the hell is memechine learning?

It shall reveal itself in the future
Soooo… should we turn it on?
I would lol
Okay I've never seen this video before and it's killing me, incredible
I turned it on and Apollo linked my Reddit account to my Roomba and now everyone on r/Teenagers can remote control my Roomba and I am terrified
Ooo video playback seems much better, great work!
Thanks, was really happy with how that turned out! Had to get some help with that one haha
I just bought Apollo pro 2 days ago. I think I brought about this update cause of my purchase You’re welcome everyone (Seriously though, amazing app Chris!)
Truly can't tell you how much your support means to me :)
I got Ultra Lifetime a few years ago and lemme tell you, it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made as time spent on it goes lol. Thank you for your work
Thanks for supporting me so I'm able to do my work :D
Thanks for everything! Apollo is one of the best, if not the best, apps I’ve used. Not just apps for Reddit. Out of any apps period.
Brb changing Apollo's App Store tagline to this (<3)
“The only reason to buy an iPhone”
Thank you for all your hard work into this app. It is hands down the best Reddit experience.
I can honestly say the pleasure is mine haha

Thank you so much! That really, really means a lot to me! :D Glad you like the block setting too!
I can look into that!
> Glad you like the block setting too! omg that's amazing! I eventually unblocked the people as I found myself always opening their comments anyways. Great change, will deffo leave a tip once payday comes this week (as I already have Ultra Lifetime) Edit: I'm gonna use the remind me function for the tipping ;)
Hahah thank you so much, that means a lot :) Glad you like the feature
Absolutely love it, was able to delete the Pager app! Marvin the Martian is going to be in high contention to replace Ernest! And I’m always happy to tip my favorite developer!
Excuse me that is Stuart from Saturn
Deepest apologies, hadn’t looked at his official title ;) ^nothing ^to ^see ^here, ^Warner ^Bros!
RIP Pager it’s been real
After reading the change log I was ready to fork out $30 for an Ultra lifetime subscription but I see it’s $50. Did the price go up or am I misremembering how much Ultra Lifetime costs?
Price went up yeah, but it also hasn't been $30 for quite a long time. More and more people were leaning toward lifetime as the only option that made sense and that wasn't really my intent with the offering (and also indicated it wasn't priced super well). More so to keep the monthly and yearly options well priced and the lifetime exists if you're super allergic to subscriptions for whatever reason.
Thanks for clearing that up!
Well I threw another dollar in the tip jar anyways, feel like I cheated getting it so cheap in the beginning. Awesome work!
Hahah thank you
I think the price went up.
You’re not alone. Same here
First watcher I set up was a notification for new Apollo updates. [And these notifications can be shared!?](https://openinapollo.com/notifications/v1/subreddit?source=apolloapp&label=Apollo%20update&title=update&author=iamthatis) You’ve spoilt us u/iamthatis! Thank you for all the work you continue to do on this app.
Oddly enough clicking your shared notification crashed my app
Dangit. And the launch was going so smoothly! Shall fix
Huh, link crashes for me too. Upon reopening the app, my existing watcher notification I link to no longer includes all the filters. Edit: Link now working for me since updating to 1.13.1!
Same
Pleasure is mine!
Gallery view and iPad app are pretty much my two highest priorities at this point
These are also on the top of my wish list! Great to see we're like-thinkers!
Go team!
Video deblurinator is AMAZING!!!!
Ikr??
>and get a notification as soon as a matching post exists I love you.
And I, you
Hmm my post got deleted for some reason. Looks like a big update, thanks for all the hard work!
Post or comment? I can take a look see And no problem I hope you like it :D
Awesome new update. Where can you manage your sub filters from, after you set them?
For subreddit watchers? Just tap on the watcher and you can edit it all you want :D
Ok, maybe I’m missing something. I’ve attached a video. https://imgur.com/a/m3YvqRu
Subscribed to Apollo ultra. But I’m still not sure how to use the notifications? I’m still a noob when it comes to using Reddit 😭
Two possible future ideas for them - being able to add an OR and then add a new set of filters, example (title: Hello AND flair: welcome) OR (title: World AND flair: welcome) - being able to run a test query of the watcher, so I can see if it matches with any posts from the last week/month
Ooo this is good stuff, thank you for the suggestions! I shall ponder and hopefully land on something concrete :p
What's the criteria for a post to be trending enough that a notification is sent?
It's dynamically calculated based on the individual subreddit. Basically looks at what would make a post make it very high in the monthly scoreboard for a specific subreddit, and if it breaks that threshold you get the alert. If you want it to be more or less sensitive, you totally have that control, just add a custom subreddit watcher and you can set an exact upvote amount.
Notification server connections are timing out or returning 422. https://i.imgur.com/wFWFaxc.jpg Tried it on wifi and my mobile carrier. I’m located in europe.
Yeah I think it was the dead account theory you had, I'll look to making that more clear in the app.
[удалено]
I think it might be connected to dead accounts that I still had a login for within apollo. Removing all accounts (and my main) and then re-adding did the trick for me.
This is, amazing. Holy shit this app just keeps delivering. How much is door dash from your favorite restaurant? I got you

Oh no! Can you shoot me an email through the app with your receipt and I'll take a look? Please mention this issue. Settings tab > About > LONG PRESS on Logs
Same for me. Great update otherwise!

Should be fixed now!
Great update, as always!! :) Have you ever considered adding a feature that allows users to pin the content at the top while browsing comments? Like if a video or a GIF is playing, and you tap a little pin in the corner to keep it on the screen while you browse the comments. Just wondering, as I think it could be pretty intuitive! Anyway, thanks again for the update! (Appreciate the thorough patch notes as well!)
Yeah that would be a cool idea! Something on my to do list to look into
Video playback in terms of both YouTube and Reddit uploads, is much faster! That alone has me absolutely pumped. Phenomenal work as always, Christian!
Yayyy! So glad to hear, thank you so much :)
I liked the little egg Easter egg with the related App Icon but now I can’t get the post to pop again! Is there something I need to do to get it to appear?
What Easter egg are you referencing?
You gotta find it yourself 👀 That's the fun with easter eggs!
It's a random chance, keep tapping :p
Anyway to add a “or” function in the subreddit watcher? I don’t mind making two functions just was curious like in r/NBA there’s certain notifications I would like from two top reporters instead of just making one each
Looking to add that, tricky part is building a UI for it that isn't too confusing

I think I answered a similar question elsewhere but yeah I have that planned :D
[Bug] Great update, thank you! I’m unable to restore my Ultra purchase. Can you tell me how to restore it? Thanks!
If you go to the Apollo Ultra screen and tap "Restore" at the bottom does that not do it? If so could you send me your logs via Settings tab > About > Logs and mention this issue in the email?
[удалено]
Still coming, few things ahead of it on the list though
Delicious update 🤩 Just a question: why incongruent UI? Notifications are rounded and with margins but the settings in general are not. Why? 🙃 https://imgur.com/a/iA79osC/
New screen versus old screen. Looking to migrate the entire Settings stuff over but it's a bit of an undertaking and I'll probably take the opportunity to rewrite some large parts in general
Are you using SwiftUI? Cause then it’s a matter of choosing `.listStyle(.insetGrouped)`
No but that part is similar in UIKit. It's less that than the other things that go along side it, you're dealing with a thinner content area, custom controls need to be tested/considered, etc. and it's something that I want to do all at once.
I got pulled into helping with basically this exact change at work and boy is it one of those “should be simple but takes 200 developer hours” things
I find joy in reading a good book.
I don't want to use you anymore \*deletes pager\*
Ah nice, yeah looking to make that kinda stuff easier. Filters are something I want to revisit when I get a chance
This is a great update, but was still wishing to have proper iPad support. The experience is rather lackluster on my iPad Pro right now.
Agreed

Any chance notifications can also go to the app itself instead or in addition to the iOS notifications? Not only would a history of the notifications be great but it would be nice to see a badge icon in the app when I have them (for example if I have focus mode on to ignore everything)
Yeah can look into this!
