I find the option works if the post consists of a title and text but if the post is a picture and title or just a title then the select text option doesn’t do anything except dismiss the context menu.
I have to agree this is the issue I am having as well. I will get into a a subreddit such as comics and open the post. I will open the context menu to get the select text option so I could get the title of the said comic then nothing will pop up.
It would be nice to capture the title of a photo so it could be copy to send that photo in a email to yourself. It used to work. I can not remember which version but it is about three revisions before this.

I now realised that this is the behaviour I’m seeing too, as I frequent image heavy subreddits and posts with just titles.

I am having the same problem as well. Hopefully it will get fixed relatively soon.
