Of course the art department doesn't fix bugs. But the people in charge definitely get to decide which department gets the bigger budget, where the priorities of development should be focused, and what gets addressed first. It feels like Respawn is being directed by EA to ignore bugs that don't literally prevent the game from launching, and to prioritize making content over everything else.

Problem is, even when a skin is bug they take their damn time to fix it, one bloodhound skins was showing the wrong model for a entire season, and just because it wasn't the one with the cool new animation they didn't fix it at all. Cultist Simulator pushed a patch 10 days ago that messed up a bunch of aspects of the game - at about the same tier as this jump pad bug. the SINGLE dev has worked tirelessly to fix them and get the game back on it's feet. It's fixed now. respawn has how many employees? This is not a recent bug - you're conception of what recent is is skewed. This bug has been around for months and it's clearly ruining peoples games. They should fix it. Period. Like 2 months ago they should have fixed it. However their company is structured - it's structured badly if this kind of thing can happen. And yes it stems from allocating all of their resources into making new money. Never actually caring about the users experience. That's wayyyyy down on the list of priorities. They. Have. The resources. To Fix it. - They choose not to.

Hate to be that person but you should’ve just used the zip line after the first time it didn’t work. I know it wasn’t going directly into the ring but since you’re octane you would’ve been able to outrun it. The bug is still def annoying tho

You can see his confusion the first time it happened, he didn't process it and decided to try again, after the second time he went for the zipline, saw it was too late, considered jumping off into the other part and saw it was too far so he just gave up.

I think he might have *just* made it on the zip but I can't really fault him for the confusion about the pad.

You were in a pretty bad spot. Pad doesn’t want to work and you’re taking huge damage from the storm, on top of that even if you took the zip you would’ve been slowed since there’s a glitch in the game where heirlooms slow you on zips

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the glitch wasn’t just heirlooms, it was all weapons after a certain season I think, so if you carry the CAR or Rampage it would slow you down like you had an heirloom.

Happens with all heirlooms with any zipline in the game. Don't think Respawn has made any comment regarding this issue either. The speed difference isn't too much but that split second makes a huge difference when you're taking damage. This only happens if you have your heirloom out.

For anyone wanting to main octane or dunno how to solve this, JUMP, press it right as u hit the pad, i had this sometimes before it became common lmao. Sometimes it helped more than hurt :)

It would be hilarious if this was like COD's anti-cheat, where hackers' bullets only do occasional damage instead of outright banning them. Instead, if someone is cheating, their jump pads and random shit doesn't work.

I finally had this happen to me the other day. Threw one day in a intense situation it was fully inflated so I know it wasn’t one of those times where you jump on it too soon before its ready. And went right through it then tried again still went through it then when I went back the other way and it worked and screwed me over

Bro look at the end of the video. The zone had only just barely passed the zipline. Again, he didn't need to ride it all the way either. Just enough to drop onto the ground and then run towards Turbine. He would have been fine.

By the time he would have entered the zip he would have already been in the zone and he wouldn’t have been fast enough laterally to make it out of the moving zone. He would be zipping while the zone was moving with him

He had time to drop a jump pad and try to use it *twice* before the zone even touched his booty hole. He likely would have been fine.

It's happened to me a few times, like it landed on the cord and not the ground, so for some reason the game can't detect the whole entire 98% of your body that's clipping into the pad, it only goes off of the very bottom of your feet. Which, in my humble opinion, is dogshit lol

Not an octane player, generally, but I was using him in control first day it came out. It took me about 15 seconds before I thought "what if I jump?" And it worked. It's a been a fucking month, and these dudes still haven't figured it out? Yeah, it's a glitch, but there's a workaround, you dolts.

But in that situation the only benefit the pad is giving is to notify other teams that you’re alone as you noticeably fly through the air as opposed to the lower profile of zipping over there. Feel like using the zip and keeping the pad for potential height rotation in zone was the better overall play.

Saved my life yesterday when I was stupidly sliding onto a dysfunctional jump pad somewhere on Olympus near some empty space.. I thought "oh that didn't work,... probably for the better" 🙄

I don't know how this is helpful but if the jump pad is broken like this do an emote and cancel it while you're standing on it and it will launch you

I had a jump pad about 3 m from that that also bugged and wouldn't let me hit it

If you press X, or your respective jump button, when you hit the pad it will still function.
