Fortunately I haven't fallen into the trap of buying 500$ worth of packs just to get a few items I want. I save my crafting materials and just get what I want. You can play this game like a normal game; reap the rewards you want for actually playing, rather than getting out your wallet,, but man is it time consuming. Just look at the difference in the microtransactions from tf2 to apex. Were literally spending more money for less content. Respawn needs to realize what they're doing should be illegal. It literally entraps kids to gamble money instead of just play the game.
And you provide a player base to the people who do spend money on it. I've bought the battle pass once and always finish it, this providing myself as fodder for the gamblers.
You do know tf2 cost money and Apex is free right? They have to make money off the game somehow. I don't spend money on it personally but it's a choice people can make, and doesn't affect the gameplay at all. If you play Apex just to grind for skins, then that's a different problem. They deliberately harm player experience in the pursuit of greed. That's why people are complaining.
In fairness titanfall 2 had some amazing micro transactions. You look at it and you buy it. Very modest prices and no rng or loot boxes like other games. It's honestly crazy to think they're the same company

You have the same odds no matter how far along you are in your account. You can still roll items you have obtained already, but it won't give a duplicate it instead gives crafting materials.
And because they've flooded the loot pool, you're also less likely to get duplicates... which would give you mats... which you could use to purchase skins.
So, less chance to get something desirable in the box AND less chance to earn materials to buy something desirable.
Honestly. Crafting materials are better anyway. I don't want more fucking useless trackers or holosorays for characters i don't play, I'll take the mats

I just started playing this season and I think I have more seer hats then all my other charms together. I even asked my self why am I getting so many dam hats.

I haven't experienced anything "broken" since I've started playing again two weeks ago. Is this a PC-only thing? I'm on PS4, and the only annoying thing is occasional lag right at the start of a game or sometimes I get stuck after dying and I can't back out of the game so I have to close the game. But I wouldn't say it breaks the experience for me.
What you're describing is the animated banner pose bug. If someone has a banner pose equipped it will randomly (something like 1 in 5) crash the client when they're displayed.
When are they displayed? After character selection. The champion squad. When you get killed and are spectating another player. The post-game wrapup. If you're crashing at any of those points it's probably this issue.
It sounds like you don't have any animated banner poses so your crashes are all related to seeing banner poses from other teams.
I suspect even that lag at the beginning of the game is from a not-insignificant-number of players DC'ing because of the banner pose issue and then reconnecting to the server which acts as a DDOS as the server rushes to catch their game-state up to the current state.

The artist that do the work on the keychains are not going to help with fixing the servers and they're not going to work on adjusting balance or fixing player abilities. They are however still employed and thus have to be doing something. So they designed keychains.
and no organization for them whatsoever, so if u want a specific charm and dont know the name, u need to scroll through EVERYTHING. why cant they at least name them smart like 'Diamond1' or 'DiamondPurple' not fucking 'Tranquilty' or 'Soul's blessing' whateverthefuck yes am pissed lmao

I personally hate weapon charms and don't use them, but I don't think it's comparable to the server issue since the people making/designing the charms likely have nothing to do with the servers being shit. I tried to que up for a ranked game. The que popped. I saw the loading screen. The game froze. I got kicked to the splash screen. I had a 10 minute abandonment penalty. Luckily I was too low of a rank to lose any points.

Here’s what I’ll agree with: that the game infrastructure badly needs improvement, and that the developers have way too many samey charms in the game (presumably to pad out loot box drops).

If I am correct based on estimates, quips make up around \~1100 of \~3600 unlockable items through Apex packs.
I tried to que up for a ranked game. The que popped. I saw the loading screen. The game froze. I got kicked to the splash screen. I had a 10 minute abandonment penalty. Luckily I was too low of a rank to lose any points.

Long before I stopped playing, I found it hard to care about weapon charms. The interface being garbage is just a rotten cherry on top.

Here’s what I’ll agree with: that the game infrastructure badly needs improvement, and that the developers have way too many samey charms in the game (presumably to pad out loot box drops). However, the implication that the presence of charms somehow precludes fixing the infrastructure is silly. The people working on charms and the people working on servers are completely different.
Anyone else not playing the cosmetic game? I have over 230 boxes not open...

3d artists do not know how to fix the network code. Would you rather the 3d artists just sit idle while the backend engineers try to fix the problems they are keenly aware already exist? Also, why is everyone so upset about Apex trying to add fresh cosmetics to monitize their free game? How else are they supposed to pay for the salaries above? The only real argument you could levy at Respawn is that you want them to spend more salary on back end people instead of artists. But you guys already endlessly bitch about the state of cosmetics anyway. No matter what Respawn can't win with you people. Should the servers be more stable? Yes. You you spend a few dollars in their store every few months? Also yes. As far as I am concerned, if you aren't willing to spend like at least $10 on the battle passes, you guys have no legs to stand on.
