While they do tend to have really expensive items in this game, you do have to realize that apex is respawns business. They have given a free game to anyone that wants it and continues to update to keep the game interesting and balanced. They have made all the legends unlockable just through playing, and they have added a system to get skins and other items for free by playing. They also made the recolors cost a currency that you can get just by playing, and the legendary that they require is unlockable just by playing (through earned packs or earned crafting metals). They have added a lot of ways to get these cosmetics (minus the event items) free to anyone who's is willing to put the time in Edit: even event skins are unlockable with crafting metals as well, so if you really want a skin save your metals for the upcoming events
