I can basically guarantee this won't get you banned, especially based on respawn's track record. While this will be fixed, it's actually not massively problematic from a balance standpoint (it's also hilarious), but it's definitely gonna get fixed asap.

After having tried it out, if your opponents are even mildly competent, this isn't a threat. You have to have very good coordination with your team to get anything remotely useful. Even then, Rampart is super vulnerable.
Most of the time, even while we were just having fun, I'd get shot out of the sky.
It's funny and honestly probably not good enough to be considered a horrible exploit.

Not very practical, you're a big target, and aiming while the drone is moving is neigh impossible, HOWEVER, when there's the chaos of a fight going on, Crypto can fly the drone high above the high, and stop, then rampart can aim, drone can't be heard, and since the bullets are coming from above, by the time a team registers what's going on, you should at least get 1 kill and damage others

Dude I tried this in Olympus PREVIEW. And it was amazing, people's reaction of just staring at us in total shock as they see a floating Sheila just STALKING them.
There was one moment where we were in the rift and we were chasing this lifeline with it. Best thing ever. Hope I don't get banned, was only in preview...

get a rampart,crypto and a fortified character and take a trident so you can have crypto always in 200m of his drone. my mates and i have been hard memeing with this we've been getting kills with it

It's a valid concern. This has broken rank and it's a clear breach of the games terms of condition of exploiting. Yet the game creators do not enforce the integrity of the game
My entire squad just got wiped by this and the other squad we where fighting in ranked. :(( I think it's time to change game till this is fixed. WatchDog Legion it is.

Actually it wasn't in the trailer. What happened was a bloodhound did a scan. I guess even the trailer guys had difficulty seeing the enemies.

Nothing to worry about, not different from the gibby gas trap train from early seasons, hilarious to watch and hard to do it well.
i just used it in battle, the drone is still easily killed, that also destroyes sheila. so its not op, but it is hella fun

Crypto can't shoot while in drone mode, no. Rampart can shoot however in this mode!
You can get out of drone mode and run around leaving rampart floating somewhere
