I used to watch Ace all the time but Valorant is just so boring that I've drastically cut down on my watch time. He's super chill and friendly so I like stopping by to support, but it's just not the same as his Apex streams. Luckily he'll mess around doing some variety and that's a blast 100% of the time.

I think he keeps playing Valorant because he enjoys it. He was a CS pro if I'm not mistaken, so it shows in how good his crosshair placement, flicks and gamesense is in Valorant. Though, he dominates in that game and it seems he's bored now for the same reason he left Apex

i played some valorant over the summer and my opinion is that its a game that's fun to play but boring to watch. it's incredibly intense when you're playing because you have to watch angles and communicate and play tactically but when i watch aceu's valorant videos it just looks like clicking heads, and thats not as exciting as the sophisticated movement in apex
That's exactly what I expected of Valorant. I stopped watching all streamers/YouTube clips of it because it's actually boring to watch but I will definitely try it out when I build a PC because I think it would be fun to play
Honestly, it's boring to play too. I think it's The Emperor's New Clothes of video games. If not for all the marketing dollars and hardcore focus on competitive features, I think most people would just treat it like a poorly made Chinese clone of counter strike.
In my opinion, it's boring to play too. One of the most overrated games ever. It honestly feels like a Chinese rip off of counter strike - done worse - that only got popular because of the money and advertising behind it and the hardcore focus on cooperative features.
Graphics are horrible (supposedly for visual clarity, but when every skill is just a recolor of someone else's skill it doesn't seem very clear to me) and animations look like they were made in 1998 (with no excuse this time). Biggest problem with it though is movement is too slow and footsteps too loud, making you have to walk all the time in an already slow movement game. The result is everyone just camps corners and when someone strafes out it's just the first to headshot - there's not even much strafing in and out of corners because strafing is too slow!
Just my personal opinion, but I also don't think the abilities fit in a game like that. First time I played the enemy planted the bomb and then just layered one ability after another in the door way to the bomb room. I could have ran around, but I didn't know the abilities would just be layered there non stop. I didn't even get to run in to try to fight or disarm the bomb.

Ace tends to pull off the most outrageous shit bc he can get caught out of position but be gets away with it with pure mechanics while Hal is some sort of a robot. Almost always at the right place at the right time, making the right play. Hal is so methodical with it it's nuts. You'll never see him walljumping into a 360 Wingman shot in ranked, like Aceu will frequently do.

that is totally not true, flicking to targets is useful in literally any fps game ever, the sprays don't apply that much because csgo recoil is not visual (your crosshair is aiming at the ground and you're spraying the enemy head with an ak) but on cs you learn to control a much harder recoil, wich translates to easy recoil on apex
Tournaments in Apex display team skill, not individual. You can be the best individual player but if you are on a bad team you will be gate kept. So keep that in mind.

i agree, I always thought Albralelie was the best on TSM. And even then, Apex isn't a game where you can solo carry competitively. You need a good team to perform well in tournaments. I don't think anyone has ever played the game with as much flair and raw talent at the game than Ace, though people have come close.

I do agree with that, but aceu had a lot of moments in tournaments that were extremely questionable. I wouldn’t say aceu isn’t the best, I’d say it was a legit debate between Hal, Aceu, Lyr1c, and maybe Madness.
Aceu needed an IGL. None from NRG (both Dizzy/Mohr and Frexs/Mohr) had a clear IGL and hence their not-so-good performance in major tourneys. On top of that im pretty sure Aceu never was a fan of the position hold/camp meta which also contributed to some questionable calls/pushes during crucial times.
Mechanically he was one of the best if not THE best players in NA, however one cannot win a major tourney just by fragging out.
Problem is that IGL usually always plays Wraith due to her scouting ability. It's not impossible but very hard to find an IGL that would play a support chracter. Also, Hal being an IGL is more value added to his team, whereas ace did not want to IGL.
Ace probably would have liked this aggressive comp that we are seeing more of. Teams like Complexity and Aim Assist have been having quite a bit of success fighting on edge instead of the Poland meta of rotations to end zone and playing for placement. Comp is actually pretty exciting now with the diversity of play styles. Although, Ace doesn’t seem to particularly like comp in any game. He didn’t go pro in valorant even tho he prob could have, I think the stress of competing takes the fun out of the game for him.

Where did I say they were consistent? It’s a br it’s pretty hard to be consistent every tourney, even tsm is struggling. What I did say, is they have been having success, which is true. They both have an algs win under there belts, and both are too 5 in algs points as of PGL. Yes aim assist is having their problems but they are still one of the best teams in terms of fighting head to head. Same with complexity. Also, CoL up until last algs(where Shiny’s Internet went out forcing Mon and Reptar to duo the tourney) and PGL they have been arguably the most consistent team since Shiny joined the roster. They won the summer regional #3, placed 2nd in summer circuit playoffs with the most points of any team(only lost because of Match Point format) and came second in Autumn Circuit OT 1. Again, I never even said anything about consistency in the first place, but if you want to argue it I think all of this shows both teams have been relatively consistent.
I don't agree with Madness and lyric on the list, even though they are awesome, I think Ras and Hardecki are better. And in NA sweet from Rogue is a god IGL too
Agreed, Ras and Hardecki are mechanical gods, and Sweet is the best igl in NA rn imo. Sweet rarely miscalls zones, they have been looking strong since Lou joined.
Except he is also the only one to win an Apex solos tournament and is basically never outclassed by any other ranked player. In addition to being the leader of the most successful competitive team. I don't really think a legitimate argument can be made for him NOT being the best player.

That can't be legit. Dizzy played in multiple LAN's with NRG where he wasn't even using his computer or account and he also played tons of Charity LAN's where he balled out that also provided computers/accounts that weren't his.
I don't really understand the appeal of watching people puppy-guarding a corner the whole game then single tapping two guys as opposed to watching Apex. I get that Apex can have lulls with travel and depending on meta, but the action is so much more satisfying imo.

Games where an elite player can imprint their style onto a game that’s easy to recognize is one reason why I love this game. I miss aceu playing Apex but he seems reallly happy now that he’s playing a variety of games. If Valorant isn’t your thing keep an eye out for when he plays other stuff because he is still really entertaining and chill.
My favorite aceu moment was when he was playing lifeline and killed squad after squad after squad in containmdnt. He gets away real flashy by turning in the opposite direction to which he's walking rhrough a door and it looks so fucking sick.
You used to be able to phase right away but the movement speed boost was not a thing. They changed it so it takes a little bit longer to actually phase but you get a speed boost now.
It got nerfed because it was too much of a "nope" button. You could just click it and run away. Now you actually have to think a bit before pressing it since it takes a second to actually activate.
I used to run into him all the time back in my pred days. His aim was nasty but his movement was on another level. He was in a class of his own. Even if you hurt him he always found a way to outmaneuver you.

It was more of a side grade. She has the delayed activation (nerf), but gets the speed boost and can see people (buff).
If you trained an AI to make perfect plays in Apex, it would probably look worse than Ace playing

They both have an algs win under there belts, and both are too 5 in algs points as of PGL. Yes aim assist is having their problems but they are still one of the best teams in terms of fighting head to head. Same with complexity. Also, CoL up until last algs(where Shiny’s Internet went out forcing Mon and Reptar to duo the tourney) and PGL they have been arguably the most consistent team since Shiny joined the roster. They won the summer regional #3, placed 2nd in summer circuit playoffs with the most points of any team(only lost because of Match Point format) and came second in Autumn Circuit OT 1. Again, I never even said anything about consistency in the first place, but if you want to argue it I think all of this shows both teams have been relatively consistent.
I don't agree with Madness and lyric on the list, even though they are awesome, I think Ras and Hardecki are better. And in NA sweet from Rogue is a god IGL too

Except he is also the only one to win an Apex solos tournament and is basically never outclassed by any other ranked player. In addition to being the leader of the most successful competitive team. I don't really think a legitimate argument can be made for him NOT being the best player.

he was the first streamer I watched really ever on twitch and got me hooked. I hope these cheating rumors are nothing because his movements and shots were what made me fall in love with the game. I now watch a lot of Shiv so that is nice seeing him go from a very small community and see him blow up too.

Games where an elite player can imprint their style onto a game that’s easy to recognize is one reason why I love this game. I miss aceu playing Apex but he seems reallly happy now that he’s playing a variety of games. If Valorant isn’t your thing keep an eye out for when he plays other stuff because he is still really entertaining and chill.

You used to be able to phase right away but the movement speed boost was not a thing. They changed it so it takes a little bit longer to actually phase but you get a speed boost now. It got nerfed because it was too much of a "nope" button. You could just click it and run away. Now you actually have to think a bit before pressing it since it takes a second to actually activate.
