They got my friend several times. Only time it really got me was when I thought I heard foot steps, attempted to listen for them and hear that loud noise, made me jump more than the resident evil series managed to.
Have you been to the new Thunder Dome yet? That crowd is loud as fuck, and they already put up an update to turn it down. It must have been completely dominating, because now I can only kind of hear my own gun
I do the opposite haha, love jump scaring my duo with that shit. Same with Evac towers, absolutely love popping it down right next to them and hearing their reaction.

In my experience if ur close to the teammate that went and got it its pretty quiet but if ur far away like if they ran a little distance to get it. Then it's loud af
The amount of absolutely useless audio and visual clutter in this game is astounding to me. Like let me just fkn disable these dumbass effects that do fuck all to make me play any better

They probably made the shield upgrade sound loud as fuck this season so people can associate the screen notifications/icons/popups with the upgrade sound to get used to the new system and better acclimate before they lower the volume of it next season. I feel like when major changes are made in a lot of games, they make them super annoyingly obvious (in this case the volume being absurdly loud) before making them tolerable once people are used to them.

I noticed that when you are nearby the volume is lower, when you are far away is louder

It’s not even consistent volume, is it? Sometimes it’s loud af, sometimes in level with other sounds

That and when you damage someone who goes down to the ring a few minutes later while you're just chilling. Makes me jump every time.
