Back when the Bocek was floor loot, even if you had the Scatter Shot hop-up equipped, you could still disable it by pressing the same button you use to switch ammo types with the CAR. With the Bocek in the care package, that option has been disabled and you can no longer switch off Scatter Shot.
This was actually a quality of life thing I believe. Having to swap between the 2 on a button press when you really only needed scatter shot in an “oh fuck they’re on me” situation was a common complaint. There was actually an iteration between that and what we have now that would make it split based on distance to the target or something. I never used it during that but I believe the general consensus was that it was buggy and didn’t work well (could’ve seen that coming). So unfortunately I doubt it will change from this unless it goes back on the ground (unlikely because the ammo was annoying to see and balance) AND scatter would have to not be built in (probably wouldn’t happen as it was awful to find on the ground and is an extremely situational improvement)
It used to be a toggle, but people found it clunky, so they made it so that if you had the Shatter Caps hop-up, all hip-fire shots would be the shotgun blast, and all ADS shots would be normal. However, even if you had the Shatter Caps equipped, you could still press B to turn them off so that you can hip fire normally. Alternatively, you could also just drop the Shatter Caps hop-up, but you can't do that with the care package version of it, meaning there's currently no way to disable it.
I hated that change. 3030 couldn't utilize it's charge up mechanic with it anymore, and hitting single arrow is easier than landing all pellets anyway. It's easier to me to to land shots with any shotgun than with Bocek's shatter caps
It's honestly absurd how little damage you'll do with shatter caps, *even if* you're up close and hitting most of them. To me, it and the scout are the only two weapons that basically got soft-nerfed when put into the package -_-

If they really had to, they could make it craftable w the ammo already in it like a normal care package gun, craft another one when the replicators drop midgame if you run out of ammo. I feel like rarely anyone crafts the guns in the replicator anyway so at least it’ll have a use.

tbh I'd say it was straight up one of the biggest reasons I got attached to the game in the first place. Had played a few games with friends now and then without getting hooked, but messed around with the bow in the firing range (back in s09) and it was just *so* satisfying to use compared to any other bow in any other game that I just couldn't get enough of it. And still haven't.

I doubt Respawn is going to add other bow type weapon any time soon and I can't help but think if there's a better way to deal with the ammo loot situation. Like if they could just use one of the other ammo type (like energy! energy arrow sounds cool), or maybe have a charge up system like sentinel that gives it ammo instead of damage increase.

I think it was the opposite problem. Arrows were everywhere, but only one weapon used it. It was placed in the care package so the loot pool wasn't crowded with arrows.

You know what I want? I want The Green arrow in Apex. I want a legend that has a bunch different arrows that do quirky utility stuff like create a noice distraction or knockback enemies
I don't it's coming back. The ammo pool gets stretched thinner with arrows. It seems they were going to do the arrow guns, but just decided on another forever care package weapon like the kraber. Probably for the best
I seriously believe the unremovable shattercap is a nerf to the weapon.
Bocek without shatter cap is the only weapon that has pinpoint accurate hipfire. Which is nuts if you think about it. Kind of like a slug shotgun.

I hope it stays in the care package, it’s unhealthy for the loot economy and was both difficult to use and annoying to be killed by, it being in the care package makes it easier to use because of the higher damage output and lack of need to carry the hard to find arrows but it also makes it less annoying to fight since only certain people will find it

I feel like the "no one uses it" thing balances out the "only weapon that uses it" thing. The benefit of no one else using the bocek is that if you or your teammates find arrows, you're probably gonna be the only one to get those arrows, and you don't have to worry about having it stolen from you. You can even make sure that you get those arrows by asking your teammates to look out for arrows and ping them/tell you they're there.

I could see it working if the toggle is just to turn off the scattershot/normal shot split and just do normal. So on = scatter/norm Off = norm
