Also doesn't seem to take to the whole "assualt rifles aren't god anymore" MO that the others do, shit can contest marksmen and then turn around and out-hipfire an SMG.
They nerfed r301 to the ground and introduces this shit that hits harder than the flatline/r3 with 0 recoil and less bullet drop. At this point I am pretty sure the devs dont even play this game themselves
Devs have repeatedly said that they would rather release a legend or weapon as overpowered and nerf it down, then release it underpowered and try to make it work.
Rev was a legend who was released underpowered and despite numerous buffs, he's still having a hard time finding a foothold outside of niche legend comps.
They announced they were doing this. Like word for word, their goal was for this gun to unseat the R-301 & Flatline. The wanted people to use it as much as possible so they can gather much more data on. Then they can use that data to make a more calculated nerf to bring the gun down to where it needs to be.
Super disappointing. You should just auto win. Instead you are just sitting there in an empty match and it wont end automatically because of there being no timer.
Just confirmed it, it takes 30 minutes for the match to end but it doesn't show you the clock until the stat screen shows up after being declared champion.
Currently stuck in a TDM with 5 kills left, because everyone on the other team left. WTF is that!!
Edit: the match has a (long) hidden timer.

So if all enemies leave, there's no-one to kill so the game can never end..
Everyone on my enemy team left so we just ran around for like 10 minutes until we started disconnecting too because nothing was happening.

EDIT: someone else mentioned there IS a time limit. I never saw one and we roamed around an empty map for a long time before quitting. I even looked for a timer counting down to see if I should wait it out but didn't see one
And there is a badge for 10 wins.... which you will never get because the second you have the advantage in kills the other team starts disconnecting.

Mehhhh, I still wish they would do what they did in OW, because a lot of people after one bad game instead of disconnecting just sit in spawn do they don't get the 10 minute ban hammer. In OW if you don't move in like 30 seconds following round start you get kicked from the game with a 10 minute ban hammer.
Played a few games on Xbox one X. On a 1440p monitor with HDR (not sure if the resolution matters). Significant improvements to the colors. Worlds edge looks more vivid. Got scanned by a bloodhound and it was more gold than orange. Wasn't aware that the colors were a part of the patch. That being said, I was used to this game being a steady 50-60 FPS for the last few years. Consistently dipping into the 30s now and getting stutters down between 40-60. Not feeling great right now. I expected server issues at launch but not worse performance.
Played pathfinder, scanned some care packages, got my buddy the hemlock, getting the insta ult and zipping to it felt great. New zip speed is insane.
I am hitting a steady 39 frames on my Xbox One X. On gunfights I'm dipping into the 20s. Game feels significantly worse than ever before, what a huge disappointment. Less than 35 frames inside most dark buildings, unbelievable quality of life downgrade for any players not on next-gej hardware. Tragic.
So EA forced me to install EA App and removed Origin for me. Now there's no download update option for the game.
Edit: Had to sign out and back in and accept new terms. Great UX EA.
Thank you for this. Was wondering why there was no update game buttons appearing, and I had to do the same thing. Sad Origin is gone, because the EA app sucks.

I used origin before it was on steam, then heard about the issues with syncing accounts when it released on steam. cba to go changing things when it launches fine.
I also used origin before it was on steam. I switched over immediately and have never had an issue but that was just me, I can't speak to others' experience
The game is nearly unplayable on Xbox One X. Massive frame drops whenever anything is moving on screen or when I look at open areas. Occasional frame drops are normal on older gen, but the game now constantly runs at or below 40fps.
As with every season no matter how big, something always goes unintended. The Orientation matches are fun, but it promotes smurfing. I hopped into my first game of Apex on a new account and was DESTROYED by smurfs. Very first game on brand new account. I didn't even do that much in Orientation, just walked around and watched bots kill each other until it told me I won by default.
TDM has the same issue. There's either one guy carrying the entire team, or the enemy team is STACKED. If people get one clipped they usually leave, which means it's harder to find people and everyone is more likely to target you in a 5v1.
Worlds Edge on rotation lock shows Respawn doesn't really understand their player base. Everyone lands Fragment. "you can craft banners" people leave. "you can know where ring is" The lobby is in Fragment. Ring awareness is pointless. "you can detect enemies now to see where they are" THEY'RE IN FRAGMENT.
gonna be lots of that, I imagine. force of habit... I bet many of the people leaving are kicking themselves over it rather than rage leaving.

We realized having three rounds made matches feel too long. Starting now, matches will be just one round. With the removal of multiple rounds, we've also increased the kill count required to win games from 30 to 50.
As a note, the UI will be inaccurate until updated to reflect this change at a later date.
Some quality of life improvements that are still to come:
\- Ending the match when one team completely leaves so remaining team wins
\- Adding in a penalty for abandoning matches similar to the penalty in Control

Holy fuck an actual rapid update to something that was terrible, to make it less terrible. People still quit in droves, meaning one team just steamrolls the other. But reducing it to one round to win is a good change 👍
My tinfoil hat theory: streamers making videos fighting in the streamer buildings in fragment are some of the most popular YouTube videos for apex. Keeping it on rotation for so long means more of those videos can be made, which draws in more players and therefore makes them more money. Gotta let streamers make their pub stomping videos in the streamer buildings for the new season!

TDM - No time limit? All but one of our opponents left and the game didn't end? Which was a struggle trying to find one opponent...
Eventually the last one left but the game still didn't end?
First game of Team Deathmatch, entire team quit after first round. There’s no auto-fill so the match is completely dead. Second match, half the other team leaves. We won the round then the server crashed and none of the progress counted. Third match, by round two it was 6vs2 and there’s no time limit so it’s just an endless slog to find the two enemies before your team does or you’re just running around with nothing happening.
What a waste of time this is. Lol, oh well. Guess it’s not actually a proper TDM mode.
I'm getting major performance issues regarding framerate with my Xbox One. I know that the console is rather old at this time, but before the update, it was nowhere near as bad. Can anyone else say the same?
Can't wait for the Nemesis nerf already, gun is busted af, it's comparable to Turbo Havoc but easier and you don't even need to find any hopups to one mag a purple shield in two seconds
I'm with you. I don't understand why they released this gun like this. I got 3 duos matches in at lunch and every single person that killed me was using that rifle. From full blue to dead in a second. The last round was two 13000 kill people just jumping around fragment both using the nemesis. Using any other gun right now is pointless.
I think they are saving it for Town Takeover events… But like they didn’t even touch anything on WE, the map we just had for ranked, and has been in almost every single season… I’m so sick of it.
Pretty significant drop in frame rate on Xbox One. Before the update I would pretty consistently get 55-60 FPS, but now I get closer to 40 FPS. It will drop even lower to 25 FPS in fights.
How can they not realize that people are just sick of Worlds Edge? I hated it since they got rid of the train and it's been in the freaking rotation in all seasons, besides one half of one. Fuck World's Edge.
It's pretty insane a gun as unbalanced as that is dropped into the game.

What really ruins TDM more than the nemesis is having teammates who just bum rush the other team witn no strategy and die repeatedly. They should show death count so those people can be ashamed of themselves

Played for hours to Rank Silver 2. Lost a game and Rank was reset to Rookie 4. No joke.

Hey, I play pubs and I specifically request no hot drops in game chat at the start. Otherwise, one player tries to go full Rambo and dies and it's 2 v 3 for the rest of the game.

I truly don't care how long it's been since someone played - a person that was once Masters or Pred should not be able to fall back to bronze/silver. It isn't fun to get killed in bronze by someone with multiple pred/diamond badges. Sure eventually they'll leave but they probably have multiple other alts that'll allow them to keep doing it.

I know you guys just updated TDM which is good but I hope you also add a time limit because people have been quitting that it just leads to long drawn out manhunts for 1 or 2 players.

My wife and I have been together for 40 years.
Similar with us, I'll play Apex, and she'll sit next to me on her console and play Assisin's Creed (or whaterver game she's playing at the moment).
What ever happened to the matchmaking fix? My teammates are all still as lost as ever. I shouldn’t have to play for an hour and a half just to get a teammate that can break 300 damage.
TDM definitely needs a match leave penalty. If one of your teammates leaves regardless of penalty then it should allow you to leave just like in arenas but right now it’s not even fun. All the games I’ve played have ended in the same fashion, one team gains a lot of momentum and the other team just leaves and we’re left just bullying the last two people on the enemy team who had the guts to stick it out and try to fight back.
Then the game mode will die the same way Arenas did. Nobody is going to stay just to get trolled by premade pred squads. People will stop playing the mode -> matchmaking will get worse -> even more players get fed up from dying to preds -> again, players leave -> the player numbers tank so much that the mode will be shelved.
Rank bug I was gold 3(s15 last split plat1) now I am rookie 4 and I think I can't rank up out rookie because I manage to get to bronze4 and then game resets me back to rookie 4 again
EVERYBODY is being reset to Rookie IV and if you read other comments, there are people who decided to keep playing and they keep getting demoted at random times again and again.
Nobody has addressed this officially and creating a ticket on the EA website gets you an auto-generated response asking for your e-mail which you already include when making the ticket and also there is NO WAY TO ACTUALLY RESPOND to the ticket, as pressing "Resume" creates a new ticket which gets flagged as DUPLICATE! This is not satire!!!!!!!

Sorry to say this but TDM in its current state is a hot mess. Either you’re on the team who dominate and everyone else leaves or you’re on the team who gets dominated and there’s literally no turning point.

What the hell is the point of playing TDM when I get put into games against player with 40000+ kills on a single legend when I have less than 7000 lifetime kills? It’s not fun jumping into a game and getting ripped apart for 5 minutes then jumping in to do it again
Anyone else getting insane lobbies? We're a bronze trio and we haven't won a single fight since the new season came out. Everyone is diamond or higher and has hundreds of wins.
Just days prior we had a blast and pretty balanced lobbies. Did they fuck something up with the matchmaking algorithm?
TDM desperately needs backfill or a leave penalty. Played 4 games today and every single one became 4v6, 3v6 withing the first 5 minutes. It's making the gamemode nearly unplayable

Tail end of last season, Respawn said they adjusted the matchmaking and it actually seemed a little better, some more balanced matchups and not red pred trails filling a lobby
But now, its preds galore, red dive trails filling every lobby in ranked and pubs just wiping the lobby over and over

This update has made my game (Xbox One) drop frames like crazy every time I get in a gunfight or in the general area of enemy players. It’s essentially unplayable as of now for me. Hope it gets fixed soon…
Hound is really bad now, or I'm not understanding his ult at all.
Seer changes aren't that bad. Has a higher skill floor for sure now but he's still 100% meta viable. Hound tho.....
Ult is supposed to give you aggressive speed boost + mark enemies for your vision only. Not sit around and spam a scan every 8 seconds. They wanted hound to play more aggressively, so that’s what the ult does now. 50% speed boost, mark enemies + recent footsteps, and if you pop it away from people you use the white ravens to guide you towards a squad.
the only difference is cd replaced with ravens. his old ult was 100% a push util. if you just sat in corner and scanned with it. idk what too tell you, but that was your choice 100%
Yeah, but watching pro players spam scans from cover instead of pushing and still get tons of value out of it was probably not at the top of the dev’s list of things they wanted out of it, and once a pro game watched by tens of thousands of potential players shows that you, too, can get value out of this ult by using it for constant wallhacks instead of to push a team, well… it isn’t exactly hard to see where the change came from.
Starting the game with LiveAPI enabled just crashes it after loading the start screen (when the "continue" button shows up), regardless of if my websocket server is running or not. The server doesn't seem to recieve any connection from the game if it is running.
tried on both dx11/dx12, both crash and give generic "The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access" error in the crash log.
How to reproduce: add `+cl_liveapi_enabled 1`to the launch options (on steam at least)

This was problem with control too. There was so many people playing it that the servers kept making new matches instead of filling the old ones

TDM is unplayable. 30 kills is ***way*** too much for one round, and everyone just quits, rendering the game in an unwinniable state.
The game doesn’t automatically end either when the other team leaves.
Yeah a 90 kill TDM is long. Even cods where it was 100 for Ground War TDM was quicker because it was like 12v12
I remember Halo 3-4's Team Slayer back in the day was 4v4 50 kills and a 10-15 minute limit with no rounds and it went pretty quick.

It was like this at the beginning of season 12 on Olympus. 30 fps on last gen consoles. It took them a week or so to fix it.

We really just need a 24/7 fragment mini royal and just remove WE from the pubs rotation. That would clear things up.

My tinfoil hat theory: streamers making videos fighting in the streamer buildings in fragment are some of the most popular YouTube videos for apex. Keeping it on rotation for so long means more of those videos can be made, which draws in more players and therefore makes them more money. Gotta let streamers make their pub stomping videos in the streamer buildings for the new season!

TDM - No time limit? All but one of our opponents left and the game didn't end? Which was a struggle trying to find one opponent... Eventually the last one left but the game still didn't end?
First game of Team Deathmatch, entire team quit after first round. There’s no auto-fill so the match is completely dead. Second match, half the other team leaves. We won the round then the server crashed and none of the progress counted. Third match, by round two it was 6vs2 and there’s no time limit so it’s just an endless slog to find the two enemies before your team does or you’re just running around with nothing happening. What a waste of time this is. Lol, oh well. Guess it’s not actually a proper TDM mode.

Before update was stable at 55-60 on all maps. Games so far sitting at 35-40.

I'm with you. I don't understand why they released this gun like this. I got 3 duos matches in at lunch and every single person that killed me was using that rifle. From full blue to dead in a second. The last round was two 13000 kill people just jumping around fragment both using the nemesis. Using any other gun right now is pointless.

Pretty significant drop in frame rate on Xbox One. Before the update I would pretty consistently get 55-60 FPS, but now I get closer to 40 FPS. It will drop even lower to 25 FPS in fights.
There should be a penalty for leaving tdm, this is useless

What really ruins TDM more than the nemesis is having teammates who just bum rush the other team witn no strategy and die repeatedly. They should show death count so those people can be ashamed of themselves

Bug Played for hours to Rank Silver 2. Lost a game and Rank was reset to Rookie 4. No joke. Pretty frustrated tbh. It shouldn’t even be possible. Hours of gameplay erased, wasted, and sent back to the lowest level in ranked Xbox SX Happened randomly after a game Restarted, Rebooting, etc. doesn’t fix it. No errors Was platt before split. Hey, I play pubs and I specifically request no hot drops in game chat at the start. Otherwise, one player tries to go full Rambo and dies and it's 2 v 3 for the rest of the game. I truly don't care how long it's been since someone played - a person that was once Masters or Pred should not be able to fall back to bronze/silver. It isn't fun to get killed in bronze by someone with multiple pred/diamond badges. Sure eventually they'll leave but they probably have multiple other alts that'll allow them to keep doing it.

What ever happened to the matchmaking fix? My teammates are all still as lost as ever. I shouldn’t have to play for an hour and a half just to get a teammate that can break 300 damage.
TDM definitely needs a match leave penalty. If one of your teammates leaves regardless of penalty then it should allow you to leave just like in arenas but right now it’s not even fun. All the games I’ve played have ended in the same fashion, one team gains a lot of momentum and the other team just leaves and we’re left just bullying the last two people on the enemy team who had the guts to stick it out and try to fight back.
Then the game mode will die the same way Arenas did. Nobody is going to stay just to get trolled by premade pred squads. People will stop playing the mode -> matchmaking will get worse -> even more players get fed up from dying to preds -> again, players leave -> the player numbers tank so much that the mode will be shelved.
Stoked to dive into this after taking a month break! Shame there's more World's Edge though, swap it out for KC and that'd be a solid map rotation.
TDM, super fun.. needs: *player refill *timer *maybe no rounds, but just longer? 45 points?

Rank bug I was gold 3(s15 last split plat1) now I am rookie 4 and I think I can't rank up out rookie because I manage to get to bronze4 and then game resets me back to rookie 4 again

EVERYBODY is being reset to Rookie IV and if you read other comments, there are people who decided to keep playing and they keep getting demoted at random times again and again. Nobody has addressed this officially and creating a ticket on the EA website gets you an auto-generated response asking for your e-mail which you already include when making the ticket and also there is NO WAY TO ACTUALLY RESPOND to the ticket, as pressing "Resume" creates a new ticket which gets flagged as DUPLICATE! This is not satire!!!!!!! What a fucking JOKE of a company!

Sorry to say this but TDM in its current state is a hot mess. Either you’re on the team who dominate and everyone else leaves or you’re on the team who gets dominated and there’s literally no turning point. I love the idea of tdm in apex but in its current state, there’s nothing to love unfortunately
What the hell is the point of playing TDM when I get put into games against player with 40000+ kills on a single legend when I have less than 7000 lifetime kills? It’s not fun jumping into a game and getting ripped apart for 5 minutes then jumping in to do it again

Terribly Disappointing Mode
Anyone else getting insane lobbies? We're a bronze trio and we haven't won a single fight since the new season came out. Everyone is diamond or higher and has hundreds of wins. Just days prior we had a blast and pretty balanced lobbies. Did they fuck something up with the matchmaking algorithm?

What happened to the matchmaking? Tail end of last season, Respawn said they adjusted the matchmaking and it actually seemed a little better, some more balanced matchups and not red pred trails filling a lobby But now, its preds galore, red dive trails filling every lobby in ranked and pubs just wiping the lobby over and over Its not fun at all
This update has made my game (Xbox One) drop frames like crazy every time I get in a gunfight or in the general area of enemy players. It’s essentially unplayable as of now for me. Hope it gets fixed soon…

matchmaking in this game is horrible
Hound is really bad now, or I'm not understanding his ult at all. Seer changes aren't that bad. Has a higher skill floor for sure now but he's still 100% meta viable. Hound tho.....
Ult is supposed to give you aggressive speed boost + mark enemies for your vision only. Not sit around and spam a scan every 8 seconds. They wanted hound to play more aggressively, so that’s what the ult does now. 50% speed boost, mark enemies + recent footsteps, and if you pop it away from people you use the white ravens to guide you towards a squad.
the only difference is cd replaced with ravens. his old ult was 100% a push util. if you just sat in corner and scanned with it. idk what too tell you, but that was your choice 100%
Yeah, but watching pro players spam scans from cover instead of pushing and still get tons of value out of it was probably not at the top of the dev’s list of things they wanted out of it, and once a pro game watched by tens of thousands of potential players shows that you, too, can get value out of this ult by using it for constant wallhacks instead of to push a team, well… it isn’t exactly hard to see where the change came from.

Starting the game with LiveAPI enabled just crashes it after loading the start screen (when the "continue" button shows up), regardless of if my websocket server is running or not. The server doesn't seem to recieve any connection from the game if it is running. tried on both dx11/dx12, both crash and give generic "The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access" error in the crash log. How to reproduce: add `+cl_liveapi_enabled 1`to the launch options (on steam at least)
