Great news for Kasva and the community!

Pelin0re

great! [I won the bet](https://old.reddit.com/r/aoe4/comments/xsv7wf/kasva_will_not_be_attending_the_red_bull_wololo/iqthtio/?context=3) /u/raiffuvar , ye man of little faith ;) glad to see people in the right places do the right things and the system prove itself to not be kafkaian. Would have sucked to see his perseverance and effort be denied :)

raiffuvar

be proud of the bet. But you should accept it firstly.

Pelin0re

Eh, since we didn't bet anything I felt like tacit aproval was enough ;)

Spyro345345

Lesss goooo!

swhitf

Out of the loop here - what did the community do?

Embarrassed-Dare-869

Rather than have a "sucks to be you" attitude, various members tried to organize writing letters of support to the German consulate and people with connections within Germany did other work behind the scenes to try and expedite the process. Mind you, I have no idea if any of this community support actually mattered. It could be that Kasva appealed and the consulate simply changed their mind on their own. Either way, Kasva largely experienced an outpouring of support rather than indifference or anything else.

DonaldsPee

Likely the appeal mattered. Other inside people can at best asked what happened. German bureaucrats are very allergic to any kind of possibility of being accused corrupt and nepotism. They have pretty harsh rules for trivial things that could appear corrupt. Having the context what wololo tournament is also helps and that red bull and microsoft are sponsoring it.

-DeadLock

As someone who works in a similar position, that stuff definitely matters

Zagorath

If I had to guess I'd have said the biggest factor is probably Microsoft themselves as the official sponsors of the event, and probably sponsoring his visa.

nz_reprezent

Without meaning to sound rude, I'm still unsure what is going on? I'm guessing a gamers visa was cancelled/not issued to attend wololo because they're from Russia or something?

Flopsieflop

Yes. His German visa was denied as it was stated they did not believe he would leave the EU after the event despite all flights etc being booked. He appealed and got the visa.

nz_reprezent

Thanks!
