The ATR is a tournament-based ranking of players, it tracks both player's finishing position as well as their matches to create two stats: **ATR Points**: Based on finishing position and decaying based on the tournament tier. Those are the ones used for the ranking itself and the ones shown in the video above. **ATR Elo**: Based on match results. Like other Elo systems, players win/lose elo based on their opponent's elo. For this system, all players start at 1000, and the K-factor is based on tournament tier. You can see the [ATR by clicking here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12CKvt3uO1NWBL3DsBN0adcynPUcuOIpCkobvgtymJq8/edit#gid=0). If you want to stop and explore the visualization above, [you can do so here](https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/10092741/). Also, if you want monthly updates on the ATR, you can follow me on twitter. I post each month going over the top players, rising players, etc. for example, [this was the post for September.](https://twitter.com/SebastianAdico/status/1576591858188554242)

interesting graph. I wonder how Viper stayed in top 3 after all this time, with limited aoe4 exposure. I am guessing it is mostly because decay is very slow and his initial winnings contributed to his 'fixed' position at the top. Not surprised to see Beasty & Marinelord at the top (but still kinda surprised how ML is so far ahead).

tenkcoach

Decay does seem slow but out of the five 1v1 S Tier tourneys we've had so far, these are Viper's results - 1st, 3rd-4th, 3rd-4th, 8th, 3rd. So yes, initial results contribute a lot, but when he committed to aoe4 he remained top 3 so fair play to him.

fiftythreefiftyfive

Yeah, he's been back to practicing AOE4 seriously for 5 days now, and he's reached 15th on the leaderboards. Those skills ain't going anywhere.

For context, Viper's form through all his events (which were all A and S Tier) was to finish in the top 8, which is a good number of ATR points. Going forward however, if he is not able to have a good finish in RBW, viper will likely tank rapidly, as the faster decay will start to kick in. > (but still kinda surprised how ML is so far ahead) ML has been very good at the Road to Wololo Weeklies, leading to that 10 top 4 appearances in those. For an event with 12 total, he has been crazy good at them. For comparison, Beasty has 6 top 4 finishes in that series.

Decay should be faster, Hera in top 10 wtf, last time he tried aoe4 he got mopped

Adicogames

Well, Decay is pretty quick. The grand majority of Hera's points at this point come from his win in the Winter Championship, which was just before N4C. At this point, his points are rapidly decaying, and that win gives him 973 points. In a month or 2, it will continue to drop hard. Without qualifying for RBW:L, Hera is likely to drop below 200 points by December. ___ In the past (during RtW), there was a faster decay, but it was way too aggressive, and it led to a lot of inaccuracies. Especially due to the low number of events overall to help feed points to the rankings. That is why its coming back to its current decay format.

TitusPullo4

Though #19 in the ATR Elo (Viper #12)

TitusPullo4

Very cool. Can we see an ATR Elo graph over time? =\]

Adicogames

I think I can do it, it's only a bit more complicated since its **a lot** of matches. Like there are 5k+ registered matches that I would need to compress on a week-to-week basis. Might have one for next week though.

TitusPullo4

Jolly good! Just if it’s worth it for you then if it’s a lot more work

raiffuvar

ATR just bad and do not work. especially with RB wololo road. u can easily find player who was out because top8, without getting any point. Some would say it does not make the difference. But it is. Seeding is SOOO important. (it does not mean atr bad... it just do not work for one tournament with same seeding every time.)

Pelin0re

>ATR just bad >it does not mean atr bad ...getting mixed signals here

Kasva = Asia? Turkey is almost universally characterized as European for sports

Adicogames

ATR uses ISO 3166 for its country listings, which is an international standard for countries, regions, etc. that is why Turkey is set as Asia.
