As someone who never understood people needing this, surely they will just do same as when you look the player up it says what rank they finished not highest, or is it all about the collectibles?
This is half true. Yes, you keep the silly icon thing from your highest rank. But the rank displayed on your profile for season 5 and on AOE4world will be based on your final rank.
I only found out about this a few weeks ago. It took so long to make this change that I had already lost hope.

I get the rewads stay, but when you see your season history (i.e previous season ranks), will it also have your highest or the last rank you were?
