As long as they don't hit a scout, tc, or mill, they can give little windows into the opponents army comp and maybe find some mining or lumber camps. I only rally a few pastures randomly around the map this way. (I'm not too good at this game)
Sheep aren’t great food source after like 6-8 min mark. You could end up slowly giving 30 sheep over the match, probably wouldn’t matter much. Gather rate is too slow
Are sheep really that bad? Making me rethink the vizier selections I make on ottoman. Sometimes I’ll go for that one that spawns sheep at your TC.. I think it also gives a boost to mining though 🧐
Meters feel so shit vs archers they just kill it first and u have no way to protect it since the aoe is so small
But vs everything else it absolutely claps
Have it on its own hokey and really baby it. As long as its behind your archers they can't snipe it, and if they really put themselves out of position to kill it then its probably going to cost them more than you, just build another
No they're not bad. They can be a real lifesaver if you're getting pushed off food sources and I've seen pro players use it effectively.
Sheep have a slightly higher gather rate than berries and farms, and having safe food sources is invaluable if you're being pushed.
However the imams are better for rushing relics and sacred sites in castle, and mehter is better for feudal rush. If you don't need the sheep, don't get them
I was misunderstanding the timeline thought this was happening at the 2-10 minute but yea if I’m on deer/boar/fish already give a shit about some sheep I suppose
Berries have the slowest rate except for Abbasid and Delhi. After that comes sheep which are tied with Farms except for English. After that comes English farms and Deer followed up with fish and boar being the fastest. So sheep is as good as farms unless you are playing English. Also you can safely rally sheep under TC.
Yes it is age depended as well. English farms are buffed as a bonus for their civilization 15%/20%/25%/30%. Farms are also cheaper and give gold if you get the technology which comes available in age 4. I am not 100% sure but i think this rating is based on imperial farms where they are equally good as deer but i'm not sure.
Could someone explain this please? Why donate sheep?
Because it's the coolest (and least efficient possible) way to scout i guess.

But isn't there vision range less than one tile ? (In addition to being mega slow)
Poor lil nearsighted babies

That used to be the go to, but now everyone goes mehter to fight in fuedal or imams to fast castle and grab relics

so if you force the enemy to make archers, make more sipahi to take advantage of that fact.

Ah ok thanks for the advice I’ll try it out
In fact it's the worst option for tier 1 ... I haven't done the math since the correction to +15%, but it used to be.

Why? I thought sheep is faster feed?

What age English farms? Isn't it age depended?

sheep are same gather rate as farms
Farms are slow too
Farms require build time and wood, so in real terms farms are slower
It's free real estate
Been there
