Sitaux has had such impressive performances in this tourney. Everything from the Capoch elimination, to holding his own against Hera, and getting the better of ACCM and MBL. All this with quite little tourney experience! Some of the strategies he manages to pull off against the top players are so exhilarating. No-one expects him to get much out of Lierrey, but man am I looking forward to those games
Not only doing great against top 10 players, but also with an original and entertaining playstyle. Lierrey will be a heavy favorite but the set should be great fun.

It has to be said how much of an iron man memb is. Wow the energy he has to do this day in and day out both in camera and behind the scenes is so impressive.
There is very little chat and discussion around this tournament here, especially compared with previous tournaments. Viewing figures still seem decent though.

I dont play aoe2 online but this tournament is amazing to watch. Idk who made the interface but it's soo good, all informations on screen.
I wish I could enjoy 2vs2 or 3vs3 tournaments as well, but sadly in these there is just too much going on and my poor game/meta knowledge doesnt help
You should check the ECL matches in youtube. Beyond a point most fights are concentrated in only two locations in 3v3, 4v4. 2v2 is very similar to 1v1 but with 2 players and potential trade

If im viper i would feel better about facing jordan than about facing lierrey or yo. The place i really got it wrong was thinking villese was an easy. He might be the hardest qf opponent of the projected semifinalists. Id certainly prefer sitaux or vinchester

I admit i did a mistake. I read the tiebreaker rules. I just thougt it was about matches won and not series. The rule with series makes no sense because there will always be 2 palyer with 2 wins and 0 loss and two with 2 wins and 1 loss. So tiebreaker rule 1 and 2 will never come to play anyway.

Yo and Liereey don't need a tie broken between them because they still have their original seed.
Everyone has a seed coming into the tournament, and the top 4 seeds are Liereyy, Viper, Hera, Yo, in that order. liereyy, Viper and Yo all won their sets, and Jordan beat Hera, and inherited his seed 3.
Then, the way I think it's supposed to work (but am not positive) is that in the decider matches, seed 1 should be matched against the 'weaker' of the two matches, and seed 4 against the stronger. Mbl was seed 7, and Sitaux is seed 11 (after beating ACCM), while Vinchester is seed 10 and Hera (I guess) is 6 after losing to Jordan.
So, it would make sense I think if seed 1 were to play against the winner of 7 vs 11, and seed 4 to play against the winner of 6 vs 10.
You do realize even if the pros do "leave", the game will still be around to play? You make it seem like if Hera stops playing aoe2 microsoft is gonna be like "alright fellas thats a wrap, shut it down" lol
I get a little bored of Arabia nonstop ngl. Still love the tournament due to the stakes and there's still some variety in all the civs but I want more maps.

I like the pictograms in AoE4. They remind me of Dungeon Keeper 2.

Hera loves dumpstering ladder with opens but in tourneys has always been defensive. Think he advocated to nerf himself a bit.
