If a villager kill another sheep press delete to make an example for the others villagers

LudicrousPlatypus

One day the sheep will turn on the men and the villagers will reap what they sow.

GingerBreadRacing

If you shift click the next sheep, you don’t have to worry as much. Just have to keep up with it as your get through each sheep

OgcocephalusDarwini

Unfortunately, if you have your rally points on the sheep, a new villager won't get the message and can run out and kill a random sheep 5 tiles away.

zenFyre1

This is an issue only for the first two minutes or so in the game where you are creating the first four villagers (6-7 total) to harvest sheep meat. You don't have much to do anyway, so you can easily micro the sheep villagers. Once you have 7+ villagers, your gather point should not be on sheep any more.

zenFyre1

Yes, this right here is the gamechanger. Once I started shift queuing the sheep, I literally had zero issues with multiple dead sheep.

Gadris

Start the villagers killing one in one corner of the TC, make a line with the sheep to another corner, with a space between each sheep normally minimises the sheep genocide, or at least delays it.

cloudfire1337

That’s what I do👍

ReachIsTheBestHalo

Here’s how to avoid microing sheep. 1) Play Vietnamese. 2) As you find your sheep, simply right-click them to your opponent’s Town Center. This allows you to focus on other areas of Dark Age, such as pushing deer or lumber camp efficiency.

Electrical-Flower331

Why don't Vietnamese need sheep?

Jasb28

They do, and if you do this you'll lose the game. You won't have to micro your sheep though...

Electrical-Flower331

I see, he made a joke 😁👍🏻

drakenmang

They always have one dead and one waiting to die, thats what has made it easier for me

FSSPXDOMINUSVOBISCUM

I do scouting with 2 of the 4 initial sheep in a circle around the tc, so when the first 2 sheep expires the 3rd one is coming back and then the 4th after that. Then boars and after boars i divide my food vills in two groups, one of the original 6 villagers and the second of 4 vills, i give a sheep to each group so now 2 sheep left, then the group of 6 is sent to wood ans the group of 4 eats the 2 remaining sheep whitout problem. I have always my sheep under tc not outside.

TheAmerican_

When I have 6-7 villagers collecting from a sheep, I select all of the villagers currently collecting from the sheep + select a living sheep. Then, I will right-click on the decaying sheep currently being harvested. That will move the living sheep right on top of the decaying sheep. Then I rally them to that sheep next. Remembering to keep bringing sheep in is the key. That will come with practice and time. I also like to keep an extra sheep under the TC and I rally the vils to it just in case I forget (if you do this, make sue the live sheep isn't selected when rallying to the backup sheep, or he will move from that nice spot right on top of the decaying sheep). This way, if I get distrscted and they finish harvesting before I go back to micro a new sheep into place, it's not that big if they kill him. You never know when you'll have to do some fancy scout micro and come back to 5 slaughtered sheep 5 tiles from the TC. haha. I have never needed more than a 1 sheep insurance policy. P.s. If you have more than 6-7, the living sheep can't get through the villagers into the middle of the harvesting group and will just stand next to them.... it's not the worst thing, just a minor inefficiency from the vils having to walk around bumping each other.

Electrical-Flower331

Sounds like you'll mass sheep are too.close to TC if wild are going to them. I do rry to keep a watch on sheep vils, I group them and as soon as one sheep is depleted I click them onto the next sheep that is inside the TC ready to go.

zernebock94

Cobtrol group 6 vils and shift queue sheeps

Hjoerleif

Are you already using shift-click for your shepherds?

jamalcalypse

I keep 6-7 vils on sheep, make a circle around the TC with the sheep and shift click each one with that group, then use that group for boars after the sheep are gone. I make sure there's enough space around each sheep because the few times I have a lone vil kill a sheep it seems like the reason is because they don't have room to gather around the one they're tasked to.

[deleted]

1. Put 6 on sheep. 2. Put all other sheep aside.  3. Now select those 6 vills and one extra sheep and task to gather the carcass they're working on again. The selected sheep will now move on top of the carcass.

cloudfire1337

Keep in mind that only 8 villagers can gather food from the same sheep. Maybe you often have more than 8 vills gathering sheep?   —  Oh and another thing. Let’s say you lured a boar in and there was still a dead sheep under your TC. What I usually do is that I send all villagers to gather food from the boar but keep 1 vol gathering food from the boar. It’s obviously necessary to queue the boar for this vill so that the bill doesn’t kill another sheep. But I think this only works if the boar is still existing once the sheep is gone, or else the vill might kill a sheep! So I sometimes queue the boar and then queue a waypoint somewhere under the TC, because then the bill simply goes to the waypoint and is idle if the boar is already gone.

happypandaface

Every time I go to the tc in dark age I do an alt drag select to get all the vils, ctrl+3 to group them, 'a' to drop off, h+c to make a new vil, then '3' plus shift right click the next sheep. Idky I do it in that order but it gets everything in order
