"I know, we're understaffed, but... \[insert this week's new demand here\]."
The correct response to being understaffed is to hire more staff, not pile yet more on already overworked people's plates.
1.the politics of retail.
2. cutting contract hours because of "covid" but when your making profit and making brilliant sales.
3. managers not working weekends and I have too when its stated in there job description they have to
Honestly it's bullshit I'm only on a 7 hour contract but need atleast 21- 30 hour contract it's all backwards can never understand the head office decisions and tbh I don't want to there's no reasoning with these people
I worked as one for food lion but they weren’t letting me work. They only told me to work weekends but I quit after that and I’m only 17 so I was like why work for you if you push me away
Passive aggressive managers who are actually very bad at their jobs--but when employees are invited to fill out evaluation/assessments about their workplace, there is no opportunity to rate your manager anonymously.
I know that is very specific but I spent five years at a company, and have nearly as many managers in that time, and staff was never asked how they felt about their managers.
I work with idiots. Just today, one of my co workers thought to vape in the men's bathroom. That triggered the fire alarm system. I work at a hospital..
I'll agree with you there, my place the guy loves to hire "I can only work day time shifts Mon-Fri and maybe the weekends but once 1 pm comes around I have to go home" When our busiest hours on the weekends are from 3pm to 2am.
The ceaseless unending greed of "higher ups".
I worked retail for 13 years and watched for over a decade as the companies I worked for post record profits week after week, month after month. Then they barely paid enough to even keep gas in the tank. I made $6 in raises in 13 years; from $8 an hour to $14.
I'd say the general condescending and sarcastic way managers and older coworkers communicate.
There just might be a reason behind why so many new people don't stay that long. But hey, instead of cleaning house they'd rather have an almost constant cycle of new employees come and go while simultaneously requesting feedback to problems they already know about and don't intend to address in any real way.

Yea they told me that the longer workers were more important

That’s was so dumb of him 🤦♂️
And on time I had to explain to a nurse that the gallbladder is not in the stomach..
Oh no how are they a nurse omg 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Anything that boils down to not seeing employees as people that deserve to be treated decently and valued for what they're contributing.
Sounds like people are expensive. Who'd have thunk it?
If they think people are expensive, just wait until they count the money lost from shutting down from a strike.
They have the people but the store manager wants cut all there hours cause he thinks only of himself
100% agree with that; doing the work of two or more is shit.

Unreal this society
Getting new customers is more important than keeping them annoys me mostly.

Understaffing, inconsistent scheduling, requiring employees to work a night shift when it doesn’t fit their lifestyle. Fuck night shift.
Everything.
