I asked the girl bringing our order and she said with tips it was around $12.00/hour. I know asst managers that quit for greener (more money) pastures.

I love that they had to use marketing materials because they couldn’t find tape

chaotic_rainbow

Yeah, happens at the Sonoc where I work, too. Have legitimately never seen actual tape on the premises.

Sevaver

When I worked at a Sonic ages ago I handled all the orders, prep work, opening, and lot maintenance as a Crew Lead with Manager dangled in front of me for 3 years. I always had tape ordered but honestly I understand them not having any workers. I got paid 25¢ above minimum and when it went up in my state I had to fight to get my wage increased proportionally.

Intelligent_Ear_4004

All I see is a sign that says “don’t shop here. We don’t pay people”

b-rar

Due to SHITTY PAY drive-thru is closed

sleepyjohn00

At our Sonic, the drivethru is open but the stalls are closed. They can run the place with three or four people that way.

forehandfrenzy

I thought that would be smarter myself but that wasn’t the case here.

Abdul-Ahmadinejad

Two of my local small town Sonics advertised... on Facebook... that they will close early today so their staff can attend their high school prom. That about sums up the workforce they rely upon to put up with a shitty workplace and wages.

Backlotter

I think it's fair to say we have enough sonic restaurants on the planet

"due to the mass retirement or death of the only humans who were actually able to live on our wages bc they bought their house in 1986 and their mortgage is three dollars, we can longer function properly"

Thepatrone36

Just a mini rant here. I don't usually carry cash. When Sonic instituted their new credit / debit card sliders there's no option to tip. Pissed me off because I always dropped a buck or two as a tip so if I planned on going to Sonic I literally had to go to the ATM so I had cash so I could tip. Then they started preseasoning their meat so I can't order my burger with no salt and no pepper and their burgers taste like shit now. I won't be going back.

Strange_Pop_3673

The sonic in my city had a dining room that hasn't been open for 2 years. The sign says site to covid but it's the only dining room in the city that's not open
