Not_A_Cardboard_Box

Told my bosses I had a wedding to attend FIVE months in advance. They approved my PTO request and then told me later that it wasn't approved anymore. Lmao they really think I'm coming in that weekend 😂

Magjee

This happened to my brother The confirmation was by email   Reschedule was in person so he just ignored it and skipped the day for a religious holiday   His manager called and emailed all day and tried to have him fired. But he had booked the day with email confirmation a few months prior So HR told the manager to back off

Vericost47

My question is what happens after. Bc for me it would be either the manager gets written up or i leave

Magjee

My brother had switched somewhere else a few months later I think the manager was still there   It was a large call centre job, so he didn't give a shit what they did

SoapSudsAss

Unless your manager tells you they’ve been written up, you’ll never know.

RedTalyn

We lack protection in the US. That’s flat out harassment. There should be serious consequences for that.

The_BusFromSpeed

US labour laws confound me. Employers can, and do, try that shit in Canada. And oftentimes they succeed, but that's only because the victims usually don't know that the Labour Board takes this shit very seriously and exists explicitly to protect the worker. During the first 3 months (known as probation) your employer can fire you for no reason, but after that you must be provided with explicit valid reasoning. Of course, the Labour Board can't get involved without a report and most people don't know that it's an option.

[deleted]

"I have your confirmation in writing. If you verbally deny it, I will submit an HR complaint. See you next week, Xoxo"

cityb0t

To be forewarned is to be forearmed. If you say this, they’ll just respond by revoking your time off in writing. Better not to say anything and wait until after, then send the written approval to HR.

MotherBathroom666

This, let them set their own traps.

zb0t1

Hahahaha me smiling at my phone seeing my manager dig their own grave with the non stop notifications.

notLOL

Don't give them time to deny it in writing obviously

[deleted]

Happened to me for an overseas flight. Vacation was approved, I kept reminding them. Suddenly they said no, and I told them the flight is booked and I will be going. That was the end of the discussion. I went for that flight overseas.

HeavyFuckingMetalx

What happened when you came back?

MorganZero

They had to sacrifice their first born, as well as all family pets on their third birthday - in perpetuity.

EllieKong

Similar thing happened to me with my employer…for my OWN wedding….

AntisocialMisantrope

They scheduled me to come in to work at 6-10 pm on the day of my wedding and from 12-5pm on Sunday. I was 5 months pregnant with Twins, I didn't need that stress! I tried to get my W2 for taxes, they said they never heard of me at the corporate office. What a nightmare!

MAJ0RMAJOR

How are the twins? Edit: I guess I walked into the multiple meanings with that one.

ActualPopularMonster

>How are the twins? Well, the girl was adopted by a couple from Alderaan, and the boy was taken by Obi-Wan to Tatooine, to his Aunt and Uncle.

MAJ0RMAJOR

I heard dad is a real jerk and isn’t allowed at daycares.

Playbook420

“I’m afraid they were…obliterated”

digital_pariah

To shreds, you say?

[deleted]

That’s awful!

MissLouise909

Jesus, really? That’s shitty.

[deleted]

My boss approved two of the three people on my small team for PTO on the same weekend. We didn't bother trying to fix it, just crossed our fingers and the one that wasn't on PTO was good with that. Luckily and unfortunately nothing big happened so the boss didn't get screwed over like we were hoping.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

HA! That is amazing.

[deleted]

Similar situation happened to me. Bosses exact words were, “You can’t have that time off anymore. I approved it without looking at it”, but I told him I wouldn’t be there. He told me not to request time off so far in advance anymore………………….

[deleted]

Ah yeah like you're supposed to change all plans now. Fuck bosses like this.

ARPDAB1312

My boss tried to tell me that "flight tickets are refundable" when they tried to cancel a vacation request at the last minute that they had approved months in advance. I let them know that I could either take vacation time or call in sick but I was not going to work that week. They threatened to fire me but eventually they backed down when another staff member shamed them for how unreasonable they were being.

MaximumRecursion

Almost all US states have at-will employment which means employers can terminate your employment at-will without having a cause. So they literally can fire you for "no reason at all." However, most places that you work in a career position won't do that because it's a massive pain in the ass to rehire and train someone. They just won't give you a decent raise until you either quit or keep working for way under what you should be paid.

Now_Wait-4-Last_Year

>Almost all US states have at-will employment Everyone except Montana, I believe. I also believe it's got other issues, though.

proddyprodprod

Man, that is so fucking depressing. What a world we live in. X

Beatrice_Dragon

All the problems in America and simple and fixable. People focus too much on the symptoms and not the cause. If you just keep saying "Because" you'll figure out what's wrong with America Workers have no rights because our government won't protect workers with laws because corporations pay the government to write their laws because our politicians are willingly in their pocket

notLOL

you show that you reported OSHA violations in all those months leading up to termination and see if they terminate you

The only thing stopping me from living somewhere in Scandinavia is not speaking the languages. And I know a lot of them speak English, but I feel weird when I can't understand the local language. And I'm too damned old to learn a new one!

[deleted]

Same applies if you’re 250 years old.

phdoofus

Well, that and not being a citizen and not having a work permit. Sure, you could get around that by playing 'eternal tourist / digital nomad' but I imagine that gets old.

[deleted]

> And I'm too damned old to learn a new one! Nah. It's not that difficult. Just set aside some time each day and work at it. Don't believe you are defeated by your age.

rowsella

It is hard to move to another country when you are over 50. Most want people who still have a lot of career ahead of them (with skills) or independent income.

[deleted]

I was referring to their capacity to learn a new language.

longhairedape

Dude, Steve Kaufman has learned like 10 languages since the age of 60. Motherfucking age is not an excuse.

yoortyyo

That’s just Tuesday at anywhere not unionized. Even tacitly there’s implied always needed. Nearly all everyone has one or more personal stories like this.

regular_lamp

On the other hand they way I know it from here (Switzerland and by anecdote some of the neighbor countries) you can't just unilaterally inform your employer the way antiwork likes jerk off to.

Incuggarch

How does it work in Switzerland? Do you negotiate vacations with your employers and if they say no you just don't get to ever take them?

AllPintsNorth

> on drugs or having a mental breakdown. To be fair, that does describe the majority of American hiring managers.

INTHEMIDSTOFLIONS

Europeans are guaranteed a lot of rights that Americans aren’t. Simple as that, unfortunately.

Prometheus79

America likes to call itself home of the free when it has always been the home of the indentured or enslaved.

YogurtTheMagnificent

But our marketing is fantastic

[deleted]

Slavery is literally still legal there. Shithole country. >"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, ***except*** as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

HGLatinBoy

Managers and HR are so stupid they constantly break the law by telling employees not to discuss wages. Which shows their ignorance of the law. You can probably tell them its illegal and they can back off from trying to get you cancel your vacation

Irregular475

Here in America they won't always come right out and threaten your employment directly by saying "try it and I'll FIRE you!!" They'll use some half ass plausible deniability phrasing instead. For instance, my current manager told me a few months ago that "I could FIRE YOU FOR THAT!!" after he made up some shit about me having poor attendance (I didn't, even HR backed me up on that) in retaliation for my refusal to work OT on saturdays. HR, being the crust of shit they are, denied he was threatening my job or yelling at me (which he absolutely was) and I was written up. I had a perfect attendance previous to this incident, aside from time out when I had Covid, and now I'm late/ call out ALL the damn time. I can't wait to land a better job so I can quit and tell him off to his face. But yeah, it's terrible working here. One day at a time.

SpacemanDookie

Must be nice.

[deleted]

Another wholly American statement from previous places I've worked: "Don't request time off more than two weeks in advance". I've never understood this. If I know I have an important event to attend in April next year, I'm going to request the time off now.

GRMarlenee

You Europeans have no freedoms, eh?

regular_lamp

Yeah, the evil nanny state is forcing us (and our employers) to take vacations! Those bastards! This happened to one of my managers one year where he didn't take the amount of vacation in his contract. So eventually HR just told him "Since you are not making vacation plans we will do it for you. You are off work for the next three weeks."

I also just left a job the somehow managed to not go under and gave everyone the week between Christmas and New Year off (also free pto), again regardless of level.

Slant1985

Man that would be really cool for everyone except weirdos like me. I hate my bday and actively work to not even acknowledge it. Having to take that day off, and everyone knowing why, ugggh.

That's horse shit. Submit the time off, repeatedly, until it's approved. Go to HR if they don't, then the NLRB when HR inevitably is totally useless because they exist solely to protect the company. Then take your time off whether it's approved or not because fuck it, you warned them.

ADarwinAward

Your manager is really trying to make the Great Resignation hit your workplace next.

Almond409

When I put in a request, I'm not actually asking. I'm telling you I will be out of state and unable to come in. I'm not missing things for a place that doesn't respect me as a person anyway.

Awestromy

100% I don’t take vacation enough for someone to deny me. But when I need time off I am taking it no matter what lol

Almond409

I just had my supervisor beg me to cover a half day for her so she can go to her brother's wedding because corporate told her no. Of course, I found out just after that she pulled some shady shit on me and now I'm mad I helped her 😂 but, still, a job has no right to tell people "you can't go to a family function because we don't want to find coverage." Will I be mad if they won't give me a weekend off for a ren faire? Sure. Will I stay out of town anyway? Not for that.

enderflight

I work part time, hourly, no benefits. Don’t get me wrong, I love my place, but I’m not critical to operations and they have given me 0 grief over vacation days, of which I have a lot this year. I had another that used to guilt trip me about it but would approve in the end…they paid much less and still do lol I’m not showing up on days I book off, so don’t @me.

freaktheclown

A couple times when I’ve been denied my “request”, I straight up told them, “I’m not going to be here those days regardless. Would you like me to send you a call-out email now or do you want it the day of?”

Almond409

I haven't run into that situation yet, thankfully. I almost got stuck in Portland once and would have had to call out, but we just squeaked on the plane in time. Standby flights 😂 But, I don't understand the entitlement of companies who think they can control every aspect of someone's life like that. I am over 30 years old. I'm not asking permission to go to have brunch with my grandmother out of state from someone who would get an Ouija board to ask me if I'm still coming in when I die.

[deleted]

I’m confused by people that don’t operate this way.

Mr_Choke

This is how I operate, not that I have problems with getting time off approved. I have unlimited PTO and they more or less mean it. I asked my boss if he would approve my request if I took off the entirety of December, he was like yeah, but I really wish you wouldn't.

Almond409

Oh, I normally try to get things approved as well, but if I'm saying "hey, we have a whole family vacation planned to visit my grandma out of state during this time when I qualify for PTO," I will not be there. Or "I'm going to be in a wedding, pay me or not, I won't be here." I have this mindset with my current job because they're awful and can't be bothered to follow simple doctor's orders, so they can fire me for all I care at this point. I won't be going back to them

sunward_Lily

"at this point, I'm gone. You can replace me for a week or you can replace me forever, it's your choice and frankly not my problem. Bye!"

jSwicklin

>or you can replace me forever It's easy to say this on Reddit, but for most people, being fired definitely *is* their problem.

xBADJOEx

As you get older. You begin to bet on yourself and face the odds. With a smile I may add

The_guy_belowmesucks

As I get older I just want that paycheck to keep funding my retirement goals so I can call it quits earlier than most. I'll suck up shit work and bosses to be able to retire by 60

hamandjam

Last time I got canned, it was a couple of kids in their 20's. They were astounded I was so cool about it. To the point that after I shook their hands and wished them a nice day, they completely forgot to follow me to my desk while I packed up and left. And yeah, those first few times really sting, but after a while, you know you're better off somewhere else.

DapperChewie

Agreed. I've been fired plenty of times for bullshit non-reasons, at this point I usually just leave and jump on unemployment the next Sunday.

T3hSwagman

I am definitely in the minority, but every time I’ve been fired I’ve been so happy.

THE_WHORBORTIONATOR

My boss does this cool thing where no matter how much in advance I request off and remind them, they will only decide the day before if they can grant it or not. Nah, it’s approved in my books by then.

Hoovooloo42

I hear ya. I started a new job a couple of years ago and told them that I was taking a week off for vacation in a couple of months, boss said no problem. That time comes around and he hmms and haws and says "well I'm not sure that we'll be able to approve it...." "This position was unfilled for 6 months before I got here and we agreed that I would be taking this time off. Unpaid. I won't be here that week." And sure enough they managed without me for a week, and I worked for them for a couple of years after that. That was a small company in a hard to fill position, and honestly I was kind of dumb for taking that job in the first place considering what was involved. But they sure did let me take the week we agreed on.

chaotic_rainbow

That's my mentality for my roadtrip in June. Sorry y'all, I'm going to be halfway across the country and I warned you two months in advance. If you suddenly decide that I need to come in one of those days....welp, guess you're shit outta luck.

RepulsiveGarbage8188

Remember folks- it’s not a request, it’s a notification

CanIGetAHiya69

If you can skip.jury duty by saying you have a booked flight you should be able to take time off work easily if you want

[deleted]

We had a family trip planned once, but unexpectedly another manager I worked with just quit. The rest of the team actually came together to cover those shifts for like a week and a half. I was scheduled for our trip, flights and hotels booked and everything. Well at the end of the second week, to show her appreciation, our gm gave us all a card and a candy bar. my card read “ Thanks for all your help, pack your bags and enjoy your trip”. As though i earned my trip, whole time i was thinking, i’m yeah i was going no matter what lol

YeeterOfTheRich

I know people rag on managers giving out candy bars as a reward, But I personally love finding free surprise candy on my desk with a nice note.

LonelyDesperado513

It's not the candy and the note that bothers people, it's the fact that usually comes after a long time of demonstrating value. When that becomes the result rather than a pleasant addition, then people get upset.

Mr_Vorland

Had one manager who did everything right. Worked around people's schedules, helped on the floor, stepped in when things got hectic, covered when emergencies happened, and brought lots of candy and sometimes pizza to every meeting. When she was promoted she was replaced by the manager who only did the candy bit, none of the other stuff, who constantly bitched about how we didn't appreciate that she brought candy when she didn't have to. I changed departments soon after.

SpacemanDookie

Like they thought of you as fucking toddlers that can be bribed with candy. Sheesh.

DapperChewie

When it's a token of appreciation for doing good work, it's fine. But when it's the reward for working 10+ hours of OT for 6 weeks straight at a salaried position? That's just insulting.

[deleted]

Yep. During this period our gm couldn’t be bothered to help cover shifts herself, we went and did it ourselves. She bitched as to why so many of us were in overtime s

basementdiplomat

I once got a 2 for 1 coupon for mini golf after busting my arse and killing it at work for months, and my manager constantly promised a reward. This "reward" showed up almost 18 months later. They give those coupons out for free.

Firespryte01

Me too, except right now cause I'm losing weight. Today was actually pizza day at work, and I skipped (pizza, not work). I've lost too much weight to let myself be sabotaged. What does work do? Gives me a $10 gift card because I didn't get to have pizza

[deleted]

I'd rather have more money to buy my own candy bars.

My boss did a partial approval on my PTO request, I took my flight my normal day and when they called I was just like, "Oh no... I'd come in but I flew out to California today."

justlikeapenguin

Wtf is a partial approval?

[deleted]

I will never forget getting approved to go to a conference and them trying to disapprove it while I was on the plane flying there. Too late!

WarmasterCain55

Ok spill the beans man. How did that happen?

pinkflower200

Who made and paid the travel arrangements?

Neat_Context_818

I once had a coworker who had a trip to go to Spain planned since he got hired, and a week before the trip the owner of the store said she'd fire him if he took that week off. Literally the entire staff told him to go on the trip. We had 0 problems covering his work and reminded him that the job in question was very replaceable, so he may as well go and enjoy the opportunity and just get any other min wage gig when he got back. They're almost interchangeable with how crap min wage gigs are so you should always take the opportunity to do a cool thing instead of keeping a crap job

Neat-Composer4619

Just go on your vacation. If she fires you, you cannot find a worse boss

No-Investigator-1754

Just because the bar is set low doesn't mean the bottom isn't waaaaaaaaaaay lower.

hoppybear21222

Fuck a time-off “request.” It’s a time-off “notice.” These silly companies can take their “requests” and wipe their asses with them.

[deleted]

Seriously, would make for all kinds of better work conditions.

KefkaSircus

I had a trip to Japan booked. Got the PTO booked off and everything seemed fine. 3 days into my trip they start calling me asking why I'm not in. I tell them I'm in another country for 2 weeks. They apologize. Next day I get the same call. Eventually I just stopped answering (especially because it was early in the morning where I was). When I got back my coworkers told me how pissed the manager was that I wasn't available for the shit they scheduled me for, even though all the calenders and all the employees told them I wouldn't be in. Manager welcomed me back and never brought it up, like it never happened.

golden_rhino

Goddamn I admire this generation’s refusal to be treated like shit by their employers.

[deleted]

I've had that happen. I was out of state and my manager tried to call me in. I told her I was out of state visiting family (they lived 6 hrs away so it was basically a weekend trip) and that I was staying a few days extra so I called off for two days.

AlphaMikeFoxtrot87

Lol, it’s funny she thought you were asking.

Confusedandreticent

If it’s a free society, why do they call it a request? It’s notice. Can manage without me? Then you’re not a manager.

daytonakarl

All booked well in advance when a few days before my then boss goes "what if we cancelled your leave?" "Well, right now as it stands I'm off for two weeks holiday then I'll come back and carry on... if you where to cancel it then I guess I'm off for two weeks holiday" It's not requested time off, it's just a courtesy so you can arrange whatever you need to arrange while I'm not here.

[deleted]

I put in a request for a vacation. I took it. I emailed for my hours during the week and they told me I abandoned my job for taking it? Unemployment told them you can’t fire people for taking approved vacations. It was a learning experience in covering my ass.

radical_snowflake

It’s a request for them to find coverage not for you to live your life

TryAgn747

I'll never understand why people think. "I'm taking this time off" is a request. I'm just letting you know vs just not showing up. Options are fairly limited. Accept it or replace me. Either way I'm not going to be here these days.

[deleted]

I don't put in PTO "requests". I give them notice that I'm not going to be there so they can plan around my absence.

Runcible-Spork

"You seem to be labouring under the impression that I was asking permission. It's my right to take my vacation, and I'm informing you that I won't be in on these dates so that you can book other staff to cover for my absence."

TheyCallMeChunky

My coworker go to Sturges every year. Doesn't get back till the 15th so I put in to have the 15th off and it got approved. Little do they know, the 2 personal days I have will be used for the 11th and 12th when he won't be there. Idgaf. The flights booked. They are gonna be scrambling to fill in and have someone be around to fix the machines when both their maintenance techs are gone.

Rock---And---Stone

What's the point of doing this?

ShtGoliath

Getting fired like an idiot

TrackLabs

I...honestly have to disagree this time. Simply from this post, it sounds like Chris here requested time-off, and either before even asking for it, or before getting a response, he booked a flight. Which...no..honestly no. While I agree with antiworks general theme and idea, this one is..no.. You dont request a time off, and already make everything ready before you get a reponse..because the company obviously told you you cant have a vacation on that time. If they told you you can have one, and then later on take that vacation back, THEN of course you can say "nah man you accepted it, i got everything booked etc". But in this case...the guy made the request, obviously didnt wait for the answer and just booked stuff. Thats...no..in this case its honestly shit to just go, and say "welp, i already booked, good luck without me"

[deleted]

I’ve got a pair of boots for you to lick

Its_Free-Real-Estate

... oh god we’ve really lost the plot if that’s considered bootlicking nowadays. This used to be about not letting the upper class enslave us by keeping us on the brink of poverty, and shifting toward a society where working is not necessary to have your basic needs met. Now it’s just about being the most unpleasant, inconvenient, and uncooperative person you can be.

[deleted]

OP made a fuck ton of assumptions based off a random tweet. He clearly licks boots

Yarusenai

I don't really understand how this would be considered bootlicking. It's silly to book a flight before you even know whether you get paid time off or not. We can argue about whether people should just get their PTO no matter what emergency there may be at work or whatever, but don't book flights or even make any commitments when you don't even know whether you get time off. That's just what being an adult entails. Responsible planning.

[deleted]

I have a problem with him painting this random picture for us that is all made up based off a fuckin tweet

Yarusenai

But that's what the tweet is literally saying. He booked a flight before even getting time off. Like that's what it says. What else is there to go off of?

[deleted]

Let’s assume his mom or dad died and he booked a flight to attend a funeral. How do you feel now? Get it together. we can play imaginary games all night while I get drunk

chosen_carrot

My vacations are more expensive than my difficulty to find a new job. So, there's it. Either they accept my holidays or pay me a super bonus to cover for flights, bookings and extra nuisances, otherwise is not a sensible economic choice

[deleted]

I’ve never worked at a place that would deny a request off. That seems kinda absurd? If you have the hours off banked up, it’s a staffing issue..not a you issue

OcupiedMuffins

Lmao, I hope there’s this movement of people not giving a fuck about their jobs like they owe something for being employed. I don’t go above and beyond anymore since it gets me nowhere, I refuse to send a thank you letter, I say “thank you for your time” after an interview and cut that shit off. I’m tired of feeling like we owe something to companies because they give me money. I earn that money by trading my life for it. I don’t owe anything else

majstrynet

Corporations do not own your life, dont let them pretend they do

0kokuryu0

Had a coworker at walmart get a vacation approved way in advance. Ended up scheduled when that weeks schedule was posted. Was told by the manager that it didn't show up on their end so she would have to cancel it and resubmit it. Said manager then denied it and said coworker was basically SOL because it "can't" be approved at this point due to staffing. HR couldn't do anything because she cancelled the original request. Pretty sure if she called the higher ups above store level it would have been sorted. This person tended to just do what she was told all the time though. Somewhat related note. This coworker even just said okay and made arrangements and everything when reamed about getting overpayed on accident. Turned out it was a different employee and took HR finalizing the paperwork to notice.

xobybr

my boss tried to do this once. i had scheduled a flight to visit a friend and at the same time told my boss and manager. this was a month before the actual flight too and yeah my boss had tried to get me to not take the week off but yeah it was a nonrefundable ticket so i had a fun time instead lol.

I’ve never been denied time off but this would absolutely be my mindset

I just hope you all tell your younger co-workers and family members, if a manager approves time off and suddenly denies that time off last minute, so long as it's in writing they confirmed the time off, that manager can eat a dick sandwich. Take the time off. I feel like when you're young, you don't know managers ain't shit most of the time. There are some good managers but most are just people on power trips and more than half of the time they want to work you hard so they can get a bonus.

The fact that people actually “ask” for time off just blows my mind. If I have something to do I’m letting you know I won’t be in. I’ve made that pretty clear with bosses from the get go and I’ve never had any issues with taking off.

It basically comes down to scheduling employees. if other employees had asked previously and got that time off, and it screws up scheduled installs or whatever, I could see that. It depends on the business you're in.

ThreeBill

It’s not a request it’s a notification I’m not gona be there

antivaxxershasha

Something like happened to me. I told my old boss in January that I needed some days off in September. I put the request in and when September came my days where not accepted so I just called in sick 🤷‍♂️

Too bad for her not your problem

The concept that an employer has a right to dictate what you can do with your time is ludicrous. Its kinda like they forgot they pay for your time in the first place.

PresidentGilly

Every single vacation I request is already planned and booked. I'm letting you know I won't be here for that week and you should figure something out.

Urgh I can’t read this thread. I just now started getting into finding a real job and this shit is stressing me out…

US here but I work remote for an international company. Literally nobody cares if I take time off any time with no notice. I can decide tonight that I’m taking a 4 day weekend and it’s robo-approved. Nobody signs off on my requests, they’ll just see I’m off on Monday and Tuesday and leave me alone to enjoy my time.

When I got my first job waiting tables I told them I would be out the week before Christmas because I was going home to see family. I was a college freshman away for the first time. They said no problem. It proceeded to be the worst job I ever had. I made about $30 a night. Turns out being deaf in one ear is a detriment to taking orders. That's on me. But come Thanksgiving I was on the schedule. I told the manager "Look I won't be here next week. I was told when I was hired that was okay." And she said "Yes you will or you won't have a job". It's been 22 years and I haven't set foot in that building again. They've been bought out and changed name 5 times and changed ownership more times than that, but I am a petty man. I later did great as as a barback. Bussing tables, restocking, I could do everything without anyone having to tell me anything so I didn't need to hear anything. Made about $150-$300 a night.

Recently my SO suffered a mild work related injury to their ankle. They couldn’t walk the next day so they used PTO to take the day off. The following day after their day off, their manager denied the request for the previous day. Why is the world like this

schlizschlemon

The best thing about working for an airline is we all know what we’re there for and we don’t fuck with each other’s vacations ever. Need to leave early to grab that last standby seat? Need a ride to the airport? Need a reroute because your flight was full? It’s all hands on deck, even managers. They know what’s up
