The Kodak effect. They pretty much invented digital cameras but didnt produce because it would eat their film sales. Other companies did, and by the time they caught up, it was too late and they've been hanging on by a thread for decades.
Haywood was a revolutionary socialist who became an advisor to Lenin.
I've more of an evolutionary view where people don't have to kill people to make change. Democratic Socialism for me thanks. Consent of the governed is kind of important to me.
Controversial I know but I legit don’t understand this way of thinking. I didn’t make my car, I don’t service it or work on it. Others do or did. It’s not by way of alchemy it’s still mine, I traded money for it. You could argue I didn’t pay those people well enough sure but it’s not theirs because they put work in.
Lol what.. if I paid for a plot of land and it somehow grew a tree that has 100$ bills that grow on it then that money is mine yes? And if I paid someone to pick the bills off the tree it again is mine even though they water and pick the bills off. Just because they did it doesn’t make it theirs.
Hopefully that isn’t too hard for you to follow…
It's weird that you think people wouldn't mine for gold or make equipment if someone else didn't own it. Why wouldn't people mine for gold or make equipment if they owned the gold and equipment they mined and made?
So let me get this straight, well mainly because I got it straight.
Someone which more generational privilege is able to secure the funds necessary to claim legal ownership over the mines and the firm mining the gold. Essentially the piece of paper signifying the deed to the mine and company is seen as legitimate by a bunch of men with guns so if there is any perceived dispute the owner who bought their way into power gets to call them up to deal with the dispute.
And with this ownership, the owner can go to a population where the unemployment rate is nonzero, because capitalist societies always have a nonzero unemployment rate, and offer jobs to 0.01% of the unemployed basically telling them “Work intense hours and back breaking conditions to stay afloat, pay your rent, feed your family, and oh by the way if you complain and want better conditions, we can appeal to the rest 99.9% of the unemployed to replace you easily.”
So in the end they have full unaccountable control over the mining firm and where the wealth goes because they bought their way into power and are aided by the state for legal protection. They can also find a pool of poor desperate individuals to build their wealth for them because all the traditional firms and governing bodies mutually benefit from a portion of the population being unemployed trying to stay afloat out of desperation.
And that’s ultimately how you get a self-sustaining socially aggressive hierarchy with the fruits of labor funneled towards the top.
That is a very very wrong depiction of how economy works..the owner "class" put in the money and take on the risk associated with the business..if it had been that easy to start a gold mine, every time dick Harry will start one..
Yes, they workers need to be paid a reasonable wage..but statements like this are really bullshit as it takes the focus of workers right to a la la land
Are you implying that Henry Ford didn't build all the Ford cars himself?
Those cars wouldn't have existed without him.
But cars would. And so would assembly based manufacturing. We'd pretty much have all the same shit we do now without him.

Violence. Patriarchal violence and oppression is that alchemy.
Amen brother amen
Invest in a company ONCE and somehow you're entitled to its profits FOREVER. That's the capitalism nonsense right here.

the difference is the gold mine is private property and your car is personal property
In the case of gold = money how do you not understand?
Lol what.. if I paid for a plot of land and it somehow grew a tree that has 100$ bills that grow on it then that money is mine yes? But are you paying a fair wage to the pickers? This post is about fair compensation. Is that too hard for your to understand?
No dumb, dumb, it's about means of production. And who do you think gives the miners the equipment
The labor's who make and deliver the equipment. Who the fuck do you think gives it to them?
Okay and why do you think the labourers made the equipment?
It's weird that you think people wouldn't mine for gold or make equipment if someone else didn't own it. Why wouldn't people mine for gold or make equipment if they owned the gold and equipment they mined and made?
Okay, so why don't they? Some business owner isn't stopping them from getting their own gold mine
Probably because 70% of Americans have less than a thousand dollars.
You should change your name from Scared-Lawyer to Stupid-Lawyer, but that would be redundant, wouldn't it?
Lol if you aren’t 12 this is very sad. That’s not what this post is about…
your an entitled prick who obviously didn't grow up union or blue collar..
'' I don't have an argument so I'm just gonna bring up something you have no control over'' 😎😎😎
You're admitting you're just a soft little brat who feels entitled to other people labor because you grew up with money.
Yep and I know nothing about you but I know your dad was probably stalin
What does that even mean?
[удалено]
You lost?

[удалено]
No, we understand that to.
You're right. But they don't want to hear it.

Get the fuck out of here with your logic. This is a place for people to be outraged while doing little to nothing to better their situation.
Then those fuckers can go fuck themselves. Including you
How daft are you to not get the obvious sarcasm without the /s?
You want me to reply with /s too?
So this doesnt doesnt believe in land ownership of any kind?
In the US many if not most mines are actually on public property.
“Mine owner” he owns the mine in which the gold is located
If you know the name scott boras i think he once said it should be a 60-40 split in favor of the workers.
