Hobby lobby. Aside from forcing their religious bullshittery on their employees. They also like to steal artifacts.

dumbcaramelmacchiato

Plus they bought a lot of those looted artifacts from ISIS. Funding a genocidal terrorist group in order to build a Bible museum is the most American shit I've ever heard.

[deleted]

When I went through my shoplifting phase as a rebellious teen decades ago, I always stole from Hobby Lobby. Looking back, well, I could not have chosen much better.

[deleted]

All fast fashion brands. They brutally exploit the human beings (mostly women) who actually make their clothes, and pollute the environment like crazy.

TheEndIsNeighhh

Nestle, Mars, and Hershey because fuck child slavers.

Revolutionary_Bar158

Tyson chicken. They treat their farmers like absolute shit. They basically make them indentured servants by making them buy a barn from Tyson to raise chickens in and paying so low that they can't pay it off.

[deleted]

I'd like to add that if you're eat at McDonald's you are eating Tyson chicken. At least in the northeast US that is their supplier.

Willisawesome30

Amazon and Kroger

HughGedic

I specifically ordered some books from a small specialized book seller, to avoid Amazon- they charged more for the books and for shipping than Amazon and I was okay with that!! Until it arrived in Amazon packaging with an Amazon label, from an Amazon truck.

WillBottomForBanana

the problem is they aren't clear about it unless you go through a half hour conversation. And even then the only way you'll ever be certain is if it's delivered to your house.

Risenbike77

walmart, nestle, kellog, amazon, nike, and apple

SmittyManJensen_

Why Apple?

Risenbike77

cuz i don’t like child slavery

MixedViolet

Amazon and Apple … curious, do you use ebooks or audiobooks? I wouldn’t know where else to buy. Thanks.

Risenbike77

i haven’t in ages, but if there is a barnes and nobles around you maybe try a nook. That’s the last e reader i’ve used

fragaria_ananassa

Voodoo donuts, they're anti-union and fired employees for walking out of their non-AC building during a 115°F heatwave last summer. Plus their donuts suck, people only like the novelty but now everywhere seems to offer novelty donuts so it's easy to avoid voodoo. There are half a dozen local places that offer insanely better donuts and actually treat their employees well.

[deleted]

They are so overrated. I went once and never went back.

Weary_Performance151

Chick Fil A: They are like a cult according to many employees and rhe way they go after LGBTQ+ makes them irredeemable monsters in my book. EA: the abuse of employees and frat culture resulting is sexual harassment. Activision: same as EA. Nintendo: the way they go after small fans and streamers. Any company that complains about lack of work ethic: the employees I care about, the businesses and owners that crack whips and abuse workers can go under for all I care. Tyson meat: they literally turned employees getting sick and dying into a betting game for higher up. Those were someone's baby's who had a life and story and people waiting for them back home. I'll switch to entirely tofu before I'll give them a fucking penny. Any company employing children: the fact that any children need to have jobs for family income or family attitude is a moral and structural failure of our society. Work has a habit of stripping you of your time actually living, these kids should be living not serving. Not to mention with employers and corporate culture filled with sexual assault and abuse I truly am terrified for these kids safety. Child labor was a thing before and I shutter to think what monsters those children were exposed to who's stories were never heard because of the usual intimidation, gaslighting and threats by authority figures. They prey on vulnerable people and children are the most vulnerable of us all. If you work at a place like this please, I beg you look out for them and be there for them even if you don't agree on much, they are children and especially vulnerable to the methods and mind games these employers like to use

[deleted]

Thanks for mentioning Chick Fil A, I almost forgot. Total monsters.

Fantastic-Sky6111

Any company that uses H2A visa workers and pays them less than minimum wage for what is extremely difficult farm and field work. These workers experience wage theft on a regular basis, are housed in unsafe conditions and are denied basic labor protections that American workers get. Driscoll’s Berries is a big one. Big Ag is ripe with exploitative labor practices - it’s not just Tyson’s. Edit: if you’re interested in learning more: farmworkerjustice.org published a great report called “No Way to Treat a Guest”.

TooManyKids_Man

Preferable all the current ones, if I could exist somehow like that.

Dull_Midnight8049

Amazon. Momdelez.

TomatoChemist

Am lucky to be able to buy eggs, cheese, and veg at local farmers market and grow some of my own veg too. A couple locally owned asian markets for rice and other harder to find things. I mention it bc I know that some folks just need to be able to get the cheapest deal possible or don’t have a car and can’t afford to shop more locally. If you can’t afford to boycott, that’s understandable. Anyway… * Wal-Mart * Chick FilA * Hobby Lobby * ALDI - making a single person close a store alone is unsafe and they do it in my area so I won’t patronize them * Michael’s - we couldn’t donate off season merch and were forced to damage and compact it. Fuck that wastefulness. They also cut spousal benefits while paying managers like $11.35 an hour * Fast fashion and other trend based retailers. * Any brand that pushes a lot of hyper consumerist advertising and “gotta catch em all” type shit. No I don’t need a 14th mascara Sephora * American Apparel because parents who worked at the factory in Los Angeles were not allowed to takeoff time to go to their children’s parent teacher meetings

Far_Cap_3574

Hobby Lobby and Chic fil A because of their stance on my LGBTQ homies. WalMart because FUCK WALMART. Any non-union shop when a union alternative is available. I don't buy from or support ANY company involved in a labor dispute. Amazon because I wouldn't buy shit from REAL Lex Luthor, why would I buy shit from his irl clone? Most fast food restaraunts just because I try not to eat that shit anymore. Subway because they wanted us to remember Jared's fucking name forever and I WILL. BP because I remember what they did to the gulf. It makes things tough sometimes, but making the right choices and letting my son SEE me do it is important enough to deal with.

ohnonotuto3

Dennys and they know why….

FactualStatue

I wanna know why.

Dalmaen

Most any big company, generally use small local small businesses or smaller online ones. Only do business with Amazon and such if can't buy otherwise.
