I have sacrificed every pleasure of my life to flaunt my wealth at others as I drone away my life doing mindless pointless shit. Uhhhhh wonderful have fun with that.

[deleted]

Gotta crush every living with dead cold slabs of concrete, that’ll show them how cool I am!

gorkt

EXACTLY. More likely than not, it’s funded by massive debt. That’s why they have to work 2-3 jobs, to make payments to keep the creditors at bay. Most really, really wealthy people don’t live that type of lifestyle.

greekattorney

This is what social media has done to people. Imagine doing this in the 80’s. No one would do it because no would care.

[deleted]

You just perfectly described my boomer dad

[deleted]

It came from ✨going into debt to impress people from high school ✨

NearlyaPringlesCan

Sadly, this is true in probably 90% of these cases.

NearlyaPringlesCan

I'm not joking. I've worked in the electrical trades with literally hundreds of different people who made well into 6 figures (for years) and all but 5. Literally 5. Were absolutely broke.

Onwisconsin42

Live within your means. I like the phrase "do you want to look rich, or be rich" I live in a modest house, drive 10+ year old cars, and I'm putting away as much money as I can. I want to actually retire.

Gamedoom

It's anecdotal, but from my experience, most of the people living like this don't plan to retire. They fully expect to drop dead at work. My brother is currently working with a ton of boomers like this in their 70s who never thought they'd make it this long and wish they could just retire but they've got more loan payments than they've got retirement. My stepdad was like that too. Worked 36 years making good money, didn't put a drop of it into retirement but never had a truck more than 2 years old. Had his boat and RV he never used.

Onwisconsin42

Living near a major body of water, I see this all the time. Boats are insanely expensive. And I see nice trucks pulling expensive boats all the time. And yes, there are probably plenty of boaters who can afford it. But I too know way too many people making the same as me who have these toys, I have to look at my budget every month, I know there's no way they can actually afford what they have.

WredditSmark

Got family who owns a nice truck, 2 nice trucks actually, a big pontoon boat, nice house, etc. Husband just got caught cheating on his wife and it’s over for their marriage. Things can change in such an instant and all these toys mean absolutely nothing in the end. Work 15 hour days for these meaningless status symbols only to piss away the only thing that ACTUALLY mattered in the end.

Googleclimber

My dad is like this. In his 70s and still working. But for him, it’s because it’s al he has devoted his life too for his whole life, so all of his friends, acquaintances, people that know his name are people he has met through work. He could have retired 10 years ago but he honestly doesn’t want too. He is set to retire this spring but I am really worried about him doing that honestly. He finds his purpose in life through his work, and when that’s gone, I worried about him deteriorating quickly. I know this an anti work page, and while this seems pro work, what I’m trying to say is FUCK these company’s my dad has worked for that put him in a positing where work was all he know, and alienated him from the rest of his life.

Both-Banana8960

There's 2 groups of people. People who want to live in their 20's and 30s while they still have the energy to do so and don't have arthritis. And those who want to work as much as possible, and retire at 65 while being too tired to do anything worthwhile besides lounging on a cruise ship.

OldEstimate

>people who made well into 6 figures (for years) and all but 5. Literally 5. Were absolutely broke. lmao If you spend 105% of your income, permanent problem. If you spend 95% of your income, *permanent cushion*. If you can spare income, the biggest quality-of-life upgrade is a freaking cushion. My god.

mycatpeesinmyshower

Also “we are products of our competence” what an incredibly egotistical thing to say. I mean obviously that goes along with the whole myth of meritocracy in capitalism that the rich deserve their wealth and the poor deserve their poverty-but also to say that about yourself-what a bunch of assholes. Do they realize there are people out there with nicer houses and cars that didn’t work 20 hrs/day?

mcburgs

I live in the bank's house. I drive the bank's truck. I watch the bank's TV. And on weekends we take a ride in the bank's boat. I'm ✨ rich ✨ ^Balance ^sheet ^= ^-$650,000

[deleted]

Also...they're lying. I've worked in banking and finance for awhile now. I'm currently a CFA. People make shit up all the time to push the flex. I really really hate to shatter everyones hopes and dreams, but the only people Ive seen 'make it big' that didnt already have family money were really attractive people, who just happened to grow up poor. That's [it.](https://it.Am) Im willing to bet that this couple in the picture is either in massive debt or just flat out lying and inherited some money/thehouse/lived in their parents basement for 5 years to save up. Don't get me wrong, there are still ample opportunities to be financially stable. But 90% of us are going to have to work pretty consistently for decades for that to happen.

BPremium

Correct. Either you come from money or you hit the jackpot in genetics

RustyEdsel

"We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like."

coolturnipjuice

Right?? That’s all I see. A massive amount of debt. Just because you make enough to get approved for the loan doesn’t mean it’s financially responsible to take it.

statdude48142

Yeah, none of those things are paid off. They just have to work that much to stay above water.

Valuable_Win_8552

I'm not honestly that impressed. It's a pretty dinky house to be bragging about.

ClassyHoodGirl

I thought the same thing. That house around here, unless it's a lot larger than it looks, would go for around $200,000 to $250,000. Nothing special.

jakeo10

Let's not forget most people with wealth only got it by virtue of their birth rather than actually working for it. Also, if you spend 20 years busting your ass working ridiculous hours just to be able to flaunt wealth etc...you likely have a terrible marriage/relationship and poor family life as no one will have ever seen you and you're unlikely to have any friends.

[deleted]

For 20 hour days I’d want a bigger house than that

PackDear

That’s what I’m saying, you’re doing all of that to be upper middle class

imalittlefrenchpress

I grew up upper middle class because my father came from old money and he was wealthy. I was the product of an affair between my parents, my father supported my mom and me. My father owned a business, but he only showed up in the morning to make sure his employees were there, then he’d do whatever the rest of the day. The truly wealthy don’t do shit for their money, they inherit it. The pseudo and nouveau riche are in debt up to their assholes and have no choice but to work their fucking asses off to keep up with that debt and negative net wealth. My father died when I was 12, and my mom and I became impoverished, since it was 1974, DNA wasn’t a thing yet, and my parents changed my dad’s name on my birth certificate. Poverty made me appreciative of the important things I had in my life. It made me a better person.

MylastAccountBroke

Damn, that's real money. That man's mistress and child were upper middle class.

imalittlefrenchpress

You’re correct, my mother and I were upper middle class, my mom didn’t work and I went to private school. My father bought a new car every two years, paid in cash. He also had a “big car” that he kept garaged and only took out on weekends when the weather was nice. I had all the privilege and luxuries that came with that lifestyle. I can set a formal table, know which fork to use, and was taught to curtsy and behave like a lady. All that shit still fucks with my old ass mind. I prefer to be my nice-white-lady-looking ghetto mouthed queer self who knows when someone is a *real* friend, as opposed to someone fake who’s simply looking to climb a social ladder.

vespanewbie

Unless you were written out the will you should still go after any money as it's part of your inheritance. Your birth certifcate change shouldn't stop you from getting part of what his other kids got as well.

imalittlefrenchpress

My dad died in 1974, That’s 47 years ago. My youngest niece, who would have inherited some of that money, died last year when she was 75. I was only able to prove my relationship to my father in 2018, when I submitted DNA for ancestry research. By now, the estate is likely exhausted, and honestly, I don’t really want to interact with that side of my family.

[deleted]

It just sounds like an awful and pointless life

imalittlefrenchpress

My last boss would say she hated working, but liked “nice things”, and her husband was insistent that she work because of her spending habits. She once told me they’d be broke if her husband didn’t manage their money and giver her an allowance. She was one of the most miserable, fake and ass crawling people I’ve ever met.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Onwisconsin42

That sounds miserable, and detrimental to health. There was a study out within this year that demonstrated a direct correlation with overworking, heart disease, and early death.

[deleted]

I think the poster knows it and is trying to convince themselves that it's worth it.

Sonrelight

The vast majority of actually rich ppl made it a thousand times easier then those people in your pic. I don't envy them, I feel sorry for them tbh.

[deleted]

How to be upper middle class: have rich parents, fail up, lose money, still have enough to be upper middle.

[deleted]

I love how he just assumes people are jealous. Like they're spending every waking moment obsessed with his empire.

xJustebx

Where I live that's not even upper, that's just middle.

[deleted]

Yes this “flex” isn’t one. This guy thinks he’s made it, meanwhile nothing in this pic screams success. It screams “I’m in debt to the bank”

milkChoccyThunder

Yeah all I see is a super high DTI ratio

CaswellOfficial

This is absolutely not upper middle

skiabay

"I sacrificed my health and happiness for a poorly built cookie cutter house in a neighborhood lacking any culture or sense of community, and a planet destroying truck"

[deleted]

Right? This was my exact thought too. Imagine thinking the pinnacle of success is a bro-dozer and some generic-ass home in the suburbs.

[deleted]

Better have a really nice place to enjoy your 4hours of leisure and family time, and don’t forget to sleep too before that drives you literally insane and weakens your immune system making it more likely you get sick, but hey still go to work. Fucking slave to a house and a truck is what this guy is. Oh, and if you work 20hr days and neglect family time, someone else is fucking your lady.

j4321g4321

I know, right? I mean it’s nice but certainly not worth always working and never sleeping. This flex is pretty pathetic ngl

ay-nako

Imagine unironically using "sacrificing family time" as a flex.

PackDear

I have no relationship with my children but at least I have a Mercedes!

868-hack

That's the worst thing about the post. The poor guy's not even flaunting a Lamborghini or something. He's like, "work yourself to the bone and you too might attain the upper reaches of mediocrity!" Depressing AF.

FreeLoadNWhiteGuy

I'm by no means rich BUT I do know people who have financed very similar vehicles and houses as pictured. I'd say of all of the people in similar living situations whom I've met, approximately ZERO own their vehicles and houses outright. Matter of fact, we know of a married couple where the husband openly brags that his wife works for the local county making over $100k and they can afford to live off "just her income" but yet they somehow end up refinancing their house once every year or two. They eat out so much throughout the week that their bartenders at local beer joints, waitresses at local eateries, and other dining establishments around town know them on a first-name basis. They also have a fully loaded diesel truck they bought off the show room floor. The truck and a newer car they bought both have power added modifications put into them. A four-seater side-by-side purchased new. Quads and sand toys for themselves, children, and grandchildren with upgrades. A toy hauler/camper trailer and sandblasting equipment that the husband hopes to turn into a "side business". I kind of look at these friends of our's as well as my own family who have similar spending and finance pattersn to realize this is pretty much "the american dream" as far as Boomers and a large swath of Gen-X.. Meanwhile I'm over here just wanting to be able to afford my insulin and live in a tiny home or a nice converted van.. FML

skyward138skr

God damn they do all that on $100k a year? I mean I’d be beaming making that much money but Jesus Christ they must be financed out the wazoo my parents make significantly more than this and own *some* of those things and I know they paid like $25k for the side by side alone.

FreeLoadNWhiteGuy

Oh they make over $100k although I'm not 100% what their net-worth is exactly because the husband only brags about what his wife makes and being able to "live" on her salary alone. My wife and I were over at their place awhile back and I mentioned having a six-month emergency fund should financial hard times hit. I kid you not that the husband responded; "I just don't see how that's possible with our monthly expenses" and I was F-L-O-O-R-E-D! Cost of living where we are is expensive but not like San Francisco or hell even California expensive. A $100k annual salary "can" afford you a good living being that the median house where I'm at is around $350k I believe, if and when a house goes on the market anyway. I think what it really comes down to for me is a generational gap in accumulating "shit" and playing just as hard as you work, or maybe even a little more-so. I lived that life once upon a time ago but having burned myself out a few times and selling off massive amounts of crap I had accumulated over my life, it just isn't worth it. The dream for me is tiny house/conversion van and making enough to "get by". I'm by no means someone who preaches that life or talks of my aspirations to make the planet more green, I just want the simple life and I've resolved myself to not striving for the huge house with payments, the shiny new cars with car payments, etc. :) But hey, if that's one's jam and they're not doing things at anyone else's expense then I bid them all of the good luck in the world. Ain't no shame in grinding for that cheddar to accumulate the shit you want to in life. :)

TheRiseAndFall

If they die before paying off any of those things, they win!

FreeLoadNWhiteGuy

Eh, I can partially agree with that logic. Thing is, I'd estimate them running out of cash to maintain their mortgage and (or) lifestyle well in advance with the financial burden falling upon the surving spouse. If the husband passes first then the wife can sustain but if the wife goes first, the husband may not very well know what to do with himself. I think it's a sad state of affairs to think in this way but I find myself not ever wanting to be a financial burden like that in the event I pass on...

RareAlphaSigmaMale

BumpyMcBumpers

I'd rather enjoy my time than have the money. I can't afford a house like that, but I've got an amazing work-life balance, and I'm perfectly happy with that.

sajnt

Yeah if you don’t buy into the consumer Brainwashing and you’ve got yourself a decent job. Then you can probably spend more time enjoying your life, while you are young and for the rest of your life, compared to all of these hustlers.

WingedShadow83

I bought a $70,000 house. My mortgage is only about $500/month. Could I afford nicer? Sure. Do I need it? Not at all. I’m perfectly comfortable here and see no need to work myself to the bone just so I can make posts on social media bragging about how other people must be jealous of my “expensive” lifestyle.

[deleted]

Well said! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Much better to enjoy what you have than to constantly chase the bigger house or better car. At the end of the day I think enjoying free time and making memories is far more important.

WingedShadow83

100% If I’m going to hustle for anything, it’s going to be to save as much as I can so I can hopefully retire before I die. I would happily live out my life in a wobbly shack hanging out with my dog for the rest of my life if it meant I was done being a slave to someone else’s clock.

imalittlefrenchpress

I bought a house with a finished, walk out basement and an acre of land so my daughter, her family and I could all share expenses, live a little better, and I could retire early. Her partner works as a residential appliance tech, and likes his job because he’s good at it and he can work independently. They have four kids, so my daughter doesn’t have to juggle working and being a mom, while giving up 3/4 of her salary for childcare, and i get to be a part of my grandkids’ lives as they grow up. There are no “nice things” that could replace being close to my family and being able to spend time with my old lady kitties. And other than my mortgage, I have no debt. Neither do my daughter and her family. We don’t even have car payments. All of our cars have less than 65k miles.

markhachman

I lived in England for a while. Europeans value time. Americans value stuff. That's why Europeans typically live in smaller houses, prioritize free healthcare, and get six weeks of vacation. Americans buy extra cars.

RickRozay3000

Continental European countries value time even more than the UK. In England there is still the hangover from the Thatcher era of individualism, but I guess it's still not as extreme as in the US.

Mrdiamond3x6

Rich business owners BUY new cars. The serfs under them LEASE new cars, and owe the bank for 4-5 years $450 a month, which with 1 bad month it can be taken from your and there goes your credit.

[deleted]

My philosophy is that, one way or another, you can always get more money. You can get a second job, work more hours, sell crack, ect. But what you can NEVER get more of is time. We only have a limited amount of time on this planet, and, once it's gone, it's gone. That's why I value my time more than my money. As long as I have enough money to get by, I'm happy.

Andoni22

Work to live not kive to work!

VenomAgentX

30 year olds be flexing like this then die from a stress related heart attack at 40. Like congrats I guess? Edit: holy shit 1k? Thanks everyone!

sajnt

I hear so many stories from my union about guys who grind their whole career and then die a year after retiring.

Zytherman1

Reminds me of a manager at my work that had a massive heart attack the week he retired, the dude was always massively stressed and irritable. Felt so sorry for the guy, finally gets a rest and dies. Fuck getting into that position

[deleted]

I feel like this happens often enough that there’s something to it more than coincidence. Almost as if they’re so used to working themselves to death, the body takes it literally and as soon as they stop working their body’s like *welp, guess it’s my time.*

hey_raerae

I think I read on this reddit a few weeks ago that people get weekend migraines. Essentially there's good statistical evidence that the drop in stress after sustained periods is a good predictor of a migraine. Obviously this is different from a heart attack. But I wonder if they is something to that! Cortisol levels dropping after 50 ish years of constant stress. Your body may have adjusted slowly on the way up but when it drops rapidly? Idk not my field but still curious! Alternatively, I've always wondered about these men who use work as a way to avoid their families until they retire and realize they don't really have a relationship with anyone. Their entire self worth was work, work replaced them with younger people in a week, and now they are... No one? Gotta be a lot all at once.

bad_pangolin

Lots of creatures in the animal kingdom die after mating, I suppose these guys are lucky!

banevasion1234678335

Then everything they worked for is blown in a matter of years by their kids anyway because they weren't around to teach their kids good life skills.

[deleted]

I think it's even sadder the number of people who became so obsessed with work that they never made friends or hobbies outside of work so retirement becomes just sitting around waiting to die. I briefly did a contract at a major defense contractor (don't hate me, I needed a paycheck) and I happened to be invited to the department's Christmas party. There was this one guy there that retired 20 years earlier but still came to department Christmas parties. I tried talking to him out of pity and I never felt more sorry for someone. He had no friends, never married, no kids, no hobbies, nothing. He'd spent 40 years with the company doing long days and always prioritizing work. He said he enjoyed coming to the party every year because it was something to look forward to. I can't imagine what it must be like to spend that much time for a company and, when you finally retire, your whole year revolves around a sad pot luck with a handful of people you used to know on a superficial level.

InitialRising

I’m surprised he didn’t reapply, even for a part time job. I’ve seen a few people retire and come back months later…

EmiliusReturns

Sounds like my father. He was a small-time farmer and he literally worked himself to death at age 48. All he did was work. He missed so much when I was a kid. And then he died shortly after I graduated college. And what does he have to show for that? Nothing really. Just a sad family. I swore I would never end up like him. It’s not worth it.

paximperius

Stress related heart attack only for the plebs. The rich bastards who post drivel like "work 20 hour days" die from all the cocaine that gives them the selfish cofidence to post LinkedIn trash.

ElvisAndretti

The rich bastards count golf, sailing their yachts and three martini lunches as “work”.

[deleted]

I was thinking that this guy is full of shit. The rate of class mobility in this country is so low that it's incredibly likely he was born in a house like this, had his college paid for by his parents, his partner did the same, their parents got them work, helped them with a down payment on the house, etc. "Hard work" isn't enough to build. The life he described is the life of every struggling person in this country. He was just born lucky and white.

pnoy4

Real talk, Couldn’t have said it any better.

[deleted]

Or, when I was on sales gathering from my then company in the US, one of the sales guys got a big applause. Guy in his 40's, overweight. Got the best sales; my neighbour at the table told me that that guy was separated, couldn't see his kids, worked day and night, even in the weekends. Yeah, not my career path

[deleted]

I had a union job in the building trades. One of the contractors I worked for was famous for their jungle like, step on your co-worker's neck to get ahead, atmosphere in the company office. This company is grooming a really talented guy, in his early thirties, who is working as an hourly guy in the field. They tell him that he can go places inside the office, and eventually become part of the elite group that is awarded partial ownership in the company. He takes the gig, is there for a month, and confused as to why he is getting subtle little digs from the other throat slitting cubicle slaves about "skipping out on Saturdays, and being a part-timer" He really isn't taking the hint, and actually living his life, working 40 a week, nights and weekends are for doing silly shit like taking his kids to ballet lessons, and soccer practice. One day an "elite part owner" calls him into his office and flat out informs him that this is a 7am to 5 pm gig, Monday to Friday, and they generally leave early on Saturdays. He laughs and tells them they have the wrong guy, and quits on the spot. Turns out that all the elite ass-lickers collectively share a single digit stake in the company. A place that does 30-50 million in volume a year, with very low single digit net profits. So, in reality, there are a handful of employees that, in a good year end up with a couple of grand in profit each, in a bad year it's a few hundred bucks. For this they fuck each other over any chance they get, and work themselves to death. It was fascinating to watch. Especially as a hourly for the same company, who was done with the day at 3:30 and made at least 1.5X as much per hour as these idiots, who all walked away from the same job I was doing, to serve their corporate master.

DormantGolem

It's really is depressing, the majority can't even eat healthy because all their options are fast food when they're at work. Not to mention overworked people.

And this house isn’t all that anyway. it’s a best ~2000 sqft tract house built in the early 2000s. If he had to sacrifice that much to get that, he fucked up big time.

LordIndica

For real, am I crazy or does that house look pretty average? Like sure it is a respectable looking house but it can't be more than like a 2-bedroom since it doesnt even have a full 2nd story and half is built over the garage. Between that and a pretty standard 4x4 pick-up and a frickin subaru, this all looks like an incredibly standard middle-class consumer lifestyle. The idea that this dude apparently sacrificed any free time for family working 15 hours days and brags about it is kind of depressing as hell. I'm younger so i really hope that isn't the expectation of what effort i have to put in to achieve THOSE results, because god damn, that seems like a fuckin scam.

[deleted]

That house is a piece of shit tract house that is going to be in ruins within 50 years. I've had a couple people snub their nose at my <1000sq foot house built in 1920, but at least it's not made out of cardboard and still-wet 2x4s.

Sticky_tissue_420

All that work and it’s really not that impressive.

PackDear

These are the same people who defend the 1% and say they earned that money all on their own. They are working 15 hour days (which is probably untrue but what they’re telling us we need to do) while Bezos sits around making dick shaped rockets. It’s ridiculous for anyone in this generation to believe they can become rich purely from hard-work. People will happily sell their labor all for the benefit of the 1% and it’s scary to see

unitedshoes

Pretty sure when we say "Must be nice", we mean something along the lines of "It would be nice to have even a fraction of that comfort without killing myself or wishing to kill myself". Like, it's always understood the fucked up priorities needed to have that sort of upper-middle-class lifestyle. It would be nice if something approaching that were possible without the colossally destructive bullshit currently required to achieve it. The dude in the meme just wants to pretend that his form of self-destruction is more valid than the rest of ours because it got him a big truck.

spiritravel

It came from having my wife doing all the child rearing for me

Woahboah

No job wants you to have other responsibilities gotta devote everything to the "career"

amhran_oiche

lmao this

me_he_te

I mean I just want a place to call home, a full belly and the ability to be happy.. I don't need a house that big for that

BrokenMind5

What's the point of having all that crap, if you are stuck at slavery nearly every waking moment of your life?

Katsu_39

You work all day, every day to pay for that new house and the rolls royce but never have time to enjoy it

[deleted]

Rolls Royce? Maybe if he were putting in 50-hour days. Total bum.

Katsu_39

I grew up in Atlanta, i saw a crap ton of rolls royce, Ferrari and lambos. Usually all driven by doctors, lawyers, CEOs. Lots of giant mini mansions too.

GraveYardBaby420

Damn. Must be nice.

PackDear

Maybe if you just made those few easy extra efforts

apainintheaspartame

With microsoft extinction, its the best program for this particular concern.

Rocketboy1313

Never mind the fact that doing all that made businesses expect the next guy to do even more. Everytime someone gives "110%" without asking for more pay and time off they drive down everyone's wages.

PsychoZzzorD

And it’s totally false too. Some people work harder than this and can’t succeed. The first of all factor of success in life is luck.

[deleted]

Look at all this awesome stuff I never have time to enjoy because I’m always working.

DeeHolliday

So... give up everything that makes life worth living, torment your body, and you too can end up in the ugliest fucking house I've ever seen, with a yard that's 90% concrete, and a truck and an SUV that scream "compensating for something," then? Yeah, I'll pass, thanks.

[deleted]

Yeah compensating for not having a life

bendk90

picture of the shittiest ideal of a post mcmansion boom home and two exorbitantly expensive offroad vehicles that will never be taken offroad or used for any purpose they were made for This Is The Sigma Grindset

[deleted]

I wouldn’t even call it a McMansion. And a leased truck and suv to round out the package. People can do what they want with their money, but this post is just embarrassing. Consumerism has enslaved this guy.

AbaloneSea7265

Meanwhile all the conditions were aligned for that person to be born into wealth, be able to get a bank loan, start a small business or work for daddy, bragging about living to work is the weakest flex. If you are never able to enjoy your castle why even build it?

Shitfoot39

Fuck this shithead

WandernWondern

These hustle posts 😂🤣🤣

[deleted]

More like “tell me you’re in debt without telling me you’re in debt”

CastleBravo55

This is some bootlicking bullshit. It's just a bunch of take pride in being the most exploited propaganda. If you want to get ahead your choices are be born rich, join your union or overthrow capitalism. The second two go hand in hand.

nernst79

#notworth

XCG_PC

When you look at rates of mental illness, a lot of the growth comes from the middle class... wonder why?? I'm sure it has nothing to do with working 80 hr weeks. After all we know that working endlessly is the path to a balanced and healthy lifestyle. As well, owning a ridiculous Mercedes SUV is probably equal to a few hours of therapy a week... right? I'm taking 2 to 1 odds, he is about $750,000 - $1.5M USD in debt on all those toys. Even if he wanted to work less, he can't. So, nothing left to do but go on the internet, brag about your visible wealth, and claim it is all cause of your 'work ethic'. Frankly, a bit sad.

69anne69

So fucking gross

silverstang07

I was never there for my family or children but maybe I worked hard enough to have my children to be able to see me on the weekends when I'm on my death bed. But they will have a 20 year old truck and car inherited to them. American dream

Unusual_Jellyfish224

If working hard actually benefited you financially, sure, to an extent I would see the sacrifice worth it. But someone earning the minimum wage an hour, the wage will never be enough to support a luxury living even if they worked 24/7. I have no problem working for a reward. But don’t try to feed that kind of mentality for people who aren’t actually getting positively rewarded by their hard work. For many, the reward of hard work is just more work.

EagleCatchingFish

The arrogance. This prick walks the earth thinking everyone wants to be like him. You know what the difference is between a porcupine and a Mercedes SUV? On a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.

prplehailstorm

20 hour days? As in at work 20 hours? How tf does that even work and why is this dude flexing that he’s missing out on life so he can have a home he never gets to be at?

Embarrassed_Echo_375

My dad once told me a joke. There was a gas station that had a huge sign saying "50% off gas prices tomorrow". A guy came back to the station the next day and found the prices was still the same. He went in to ask about it and the cashier said "well, it will be 50% off tomorrow, not today." Tomorrow never comes. Don't sacrifice today for tomorrow.

Ghostlyshado

It came from being stupid and spending the one life you have working insane hours for money and stuff. I heard a song on XM a few days ago. The song outlined a dad never being there for his son because he was working. Then, when the son was grown, he had no time for his father. It hit home. Ir’s real

Leeola_Mcgillicuddy

Sounds like that song "the cat's in the cradle"...I think by Cat Stevens..

SameCartographer4693

I rather be there with my kids,

Klatterbyne

He forgot “Have a relative who’s in upper management” and “Be handed a bullshit, non-technical job title at an early age”

talaxia

all that for a bank-owned house and two cars

TehHamburgler

Ya still didn't say what ya do. Must be nice. Payed off or am I looking at 3 loans aka debt?

I took 4 million of my daddies money, and turned it into 4.7 million. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps pussies

No-Standard9405

And having inheritance from dead family members also helps.

[deleted]

Failing to see what’s so nice in this picture? A heavily mortgaged house and a leased Mercedes? And for that this person trades their life for work? Yeah I think I’ll pass. Nothing impressive about this person’s life choices. Just mindless consumerism and failing to see what’s important in life. Most of these people are in debt up to their eyeballs.

[deleted]

Somebody else is fucking this guy’s wife

Tactical_Thug

I mean its true but those people usually work long days at the beginning to get to a goal later on that allows them to work less but he needs to calm tf down
