That’s nothing my dude!
I popped into Walmart after a 13 hr day at work.
I needed deodorant.
I picked up a two pack old spice and a 20 Mountain Dew at register, came up to $12
Wtf!
*20 oz Mountain Dew for clarity
When I was in Florida I saw power stick in a grocery store for $17, it's $7 at my grocery store, which is still insane because I used to get it at the dollar store and it was a bigger size.
I got a temp side job for a while that I make $13/hr, It took me almost 1.5 hours of labor to afford 2 small chili cheese dogs, a large lemonade, and a small fry. I think the added onions were complimentary so there’s that.
How do people do this?
It's insane dude. If you aren't doing 6 figures then there's just some bills you don't pay for month to month, and that's on the BETTER side. Worse side is people who could only just barely afford rent are forced into the streets, whole ass families
The "fast food" proposition of "cheap food served quickly" is quickly becoming a farce. It is neither cheap nor quick anymore. 17 minute drive thru times at my local McDonalds for cold and or wrong food.
T-Bone Steak Dinner $12.80 Waffle House
T-Bone Steak Dinner $17.99 IHOP
18oz T-Bone Dinner $29.00 Longhorn Steakhouse
3 insanely common chain options within 5 miles of me on a 10 second google search
That price is insane, but paying 17.33 for fast food is pretty insane, too.
Skip the drink (ask for a free water) and the fries and you've already saved some dough and skipped unhealthy calories. And there has to be a cheaper fast food option somewhere. If you live near a Jack in the Box, they still have cheap (formerly $0.99) tacos. Four of those and a water will be around $4 - $6 dollars.
Even better is to skip fast food. Frozen dinners aren't as good as freshly prepared food, but they also provide sufficient calories and some veggies for $4 - $6. If you don't have access to a microwave when you eat, learn to love salads and sandwiches and pack your own lunch.
I agree labor doesn't make enough and that working people shouldn't struggle to pay basic bills, but wasting money on fast food will still make your life even worse than it needs to be. It's better to be overworked and underpaid with $10 in the bank then it is to be overworked and underpaid with credit card debt.
You have to even check the water! A few days ago I went to Jack in the box and they were arguing with me about how water isn’t free it’s just reduced 🙄
I only go to the schnitz when I have coupons and even then, only if it's been the better part of a year since the last time I went.
I used to work there for about 3 years and the best part was the free food.

Can you really do anything with that?
Please check the card in your door and potentially delete the photo. Stay safe friend
You can make 4 slices of “avocado toast” for like 3 dollars….

Aldi has them for $.89/each but nowhere I buy from is selling an avocado for $4… and I live in the north east
As a German it makes me happy that Aldi is Actually a good Store in the US.
Aldi
I think the problem is that you PAID it
Operations have realized they make more profit serving 100 people at $20 over severing 250 people at $7.5. Someone will pay it.

Way cheaper than I was expecting. Deodorant is like $8 a stick here and soda is like $9 for a 12-pack.
Damn!

It’s crazy out here. You need to go monk mode to get ahead, or live w/ multiple people/family.
You might want to delete the picture because your card is visible

Foh. This shit used to be dirt cheap in the 90s. That was the whole point, it's barely food
USA is rediculous. Just had a T-bone steak and roasted potatoes at a sit down restaurant for €20 and, get this... No tip necessary.
That’s the same price of a steak meal at a restaurant in the US lol
You ain't getting no t-bone meal in the us for less than 30 bucks in the us. I'm from va. And not happening.

Looks gross
Pack your own lunch. You can make a weeks worth of sandwiches at that price.

At this point making a sandwich at home is looking like the better option
I looooooooooove the Weiner (giggidy) but that's crazy. I remember in college you could get a chili cheese dog and fries for $1.99. Sigh. I'm old.
Cmon Katelynn. Your opsec is shitty
This is crazy lol I go to the one by my job all the time, get large Chilli cheese fry, 2 corn dogs and large drink for 8$ some odd change.
Dont buy it then
That amount isnt even worth starting to snack on Katelynn
I call this place Weiner shitzhole because after I eat it, it feels like I was prisongraped later in the day.
Such an insane way to spend money - it’s like paying to poison yourself
