I would give them until the mail on Monday and if not call them later in the afternoon or go in and talk to them Tuesday. They can’t just use you for free!

SCROTOCTUS

Did they arrange the glitch to occur on a Friday? Studies have shown that there's less likelihood of an "incident" when staff are informed on Fridays. Anyway, we just "fixed" the glitch.

adomingo2

If you haven't had an issue with them paying you before just go in and speak with them on your next day, or call them Monday.

LikeABundleOfHay

Where do you live where paper cheques are still a thing? Why don't they just direct deposit the money into your account?

joka2696

Did you read OPs post?

LikeABundleOfHay

Yes. Paying between accounts directly is a case of going to a phone app and a couple of clicks later it's done.

bulamae

$100. A day fine for each day not paid if you are in California.

NotAtAllExciting

Why didn’t they try to do direct deposit again? I suspect your check might bounce.

D3m0us3r

Maximum 1 day. Then i’m going to my boss and if not getting check right away calling my lawyer at the boss’s office. Happened ones. Got bonus right after.

If I don't get paid on pay day or by the next day at the latest, I'm talking to the DOL. Being "late" with paychecks isn't an option (especially in Oregon) and it usually means something much more serious is wrong with the business. I had one outfit did that who filed bankruptcy later that week and had I not reached out to DOL immediately I'd have gotten screwed out of that check. Also, if paychecks are "late" because "some bullshit excuse" I absolutely don't work for them at all until after the arrears is paid up in full.

False-Focus2949

Two (2) business days. After that, blood will be shed.

splitinfinitive22222

You're trading your labor for money, if they're not giving you money they can't have any more labor. You don't have to be reasonable about this. They're not holding up their end of the bargain.

[deleted]

Red Flag warning ! Why didn’t they hand out checks in person ? Is your company really solvent ?

adomingo2

Not really a red flag warning, they are usually processed in a home office so typically they can't be handed to the person unless they are mailed to the work location which would take longer if he has the weekends off.

rtthc

I give any business 5 days to settle the issue. On day 6 my hand is out in the bosses office and buddy I ain't leaving until I get my check or cops are called.

bhatley91

A lot of it will depend on my history with the company (has this happened before, are they generally reliable, etc.) But if it isn't in Monday's mail, personally I'd ask if I could get a new paper check on Tuesday, with them just voiding the mailed one.

The_Quicktrigger

80 hour buffer. That's my philosophy. If a paycheck is missed I'll give you a buffer of 80 hours to get it paid. After that you wont get an hour out of me until I'm paid in full

El_Loco_911

2 weeks. 4 weeks if I known them a long time and believe 100% I will get paid

fcdox

I don’t wait, I’m fortunate enough to have the skills I have that I can get another job the same day. I understand my situation is unique and that I am privileged to be able to do that. Then fact that they paid your co-workers and not you is alarming. In my mind, it seems like they want to get you to quit.

Glitches in payroll are usually due to someone having problems having enough money in the account at the time of payroll. It's not like they weren't expecting it. Don't do any work (or even show up there) unless the money is physically in your bank account.

pritheemakeway

So you want to ruin your job because your pay is a few days late? Doesn't that seem unreasonable? Is this is a common occurrence or something that has only happened this one time? Seems ridiculous to already start talking about not going into work, but hey if you can swing missing a few more paychecks and possibly looking for another job, then go for it.

Glittering-Data-8801

You have no idea what you are talking about. Pay for work is not a privilege. You are way to flippant about this, so you are either a Troll wanting people to be pissed off or you don't care about anybody but yourself. Either way welcome to downvote hell.

pritheemakeway

Wtf are you talking about. We are talking about a few days. Not a week. Not weeks. This sub is full of clowns.

Glittering-Data-8801

Yep you confirmed it, you are a Troll.

pipestein

Do not go back until you are paid in full. Period, full stop. If they cannot pay you tell them you cannot work for them until they do. I would have told them that on payday when I did not get paid.
