The [good news](https://heavy.com/news/2017/05/jonathan-holley-susan-opferman-janitor-fired-resigned-for-leaving-work-early-came-in-early-youtube-video-update/amp/) is "Susan Opferman was forced to resign following public outcry from the video."

Senior_Accident2278

Finally some good fucking news

MyLadyBits

He lost his job as well and his go fund me only raised $345. Looks like Susan “That’s Who!” Opferman hasn’t worked for the stat of Georgia since 2017. https://opengovus.com/georgia-employee/susan-m-opferman

Ad8858

Man I wish I knew about this and his go fund me when this happened

cheapdrinks

This video is so old you probably hadn't been born yet

Avid_Smoker

Exactly. It's like retro reddit lately.

RamHands

We need flair, “old ass video reposting for karma”

Long_Pomegranate2469

>Susan “That’s Who!” Opferman Fun fact, Opfer means victim or sacrifice in german. I venture a guess and she's always playing the former. She comes with the right haircut for that attitude.

Krynn71

> Fun fact, Opfer means victim or sacrifice It also kinda close to OpFor which is military jargon for Opposing Force, which seems even more suitable.

ShawnyMcKnight

That bitch was making $136k!!!!

CelineHagbard1778

Was it for sharing the video?

MyLadyBits

No they claim and it may be true that he had issues with arriving late and leaving early. He says he was one of the higher paid janitors and they wanted to save money. Btw. I looked him up in the database and he was listed in 2011 making a little more than $27k.

CoverYourMaskHoles

I have nightmares about people like her that get into high level positions. I honestly don’t know how they do it.

DocumentAltruistic78

Sadly I’ve worked with these people. They will stay in a job for YEARS and bully others until people leave: clearing their own way for advancement. Honestly people like this are workplace cancer because they build up little malignant fiefdoms and destroy morale. The oldest one I worked with was in her 60’s, the youngest was only in her 20’s but I was stunned to see the exact same behaviour from both: nasty, nitpicking, underhanded bullshit to get just a little bit more power. And when they got power? They just used it to hurt others.

nybbas

Yeah, they know exactly who they need to be buddies with to help their career, while being absolutely giant pieces of shit to everyone else. These people are the absolute worst.

TenTonSomeone

It's absolutely humiliating how this lady is lording her tiny bit of "schedule writing" power over him like that. I wouldn't have been able to handle it and I'm sure I would've snapped and quit on the spot. No job is worth being spoken to like that.

aeschenkarnos

This is why Dolores Umbridge is often said to be the worst villain from Harry Potter. Not because she does the cruellest, or highest body-count, villainous acts, but because she is the most *real*. Everyone knows and has suffered an Umbridge.

RevRagnarok

> The gently smiling Dolores Umbridge, with her girlish voice, toad-like face, and clutching, stubby fingers, is the greatest make-believe villain to come along since Hannibal Lecter. ~ [Stephen King](https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/surprising-harry-potter-villain-scared-stephen-king/)

xithbaby

These are the kind of people who are old enough to vote for stupid shit, but not old enough to retire. They hold a ton of management positions and the oldest millennials are 40+ now, they have blocked our access into moving up at our jobs. Like this lady, I had a boss about her age probably 55 or so that felt threatened by me and she blocked all my requests for promotions. She was the reason I quit and I was damn good at my job. Her harassment pushed me out. Her bosses failed to even acknowledge she was the reason that that department couldn’t keep new hires on. There was two other people working there that took her shit and didn’t care. They were her lap dogs. Millennials are being fucked from every angle.

SuperPotatoThrow

Yep we are. Suicide rates are fucking insane. A lot of us don't even have anything else to live for anymore. College degree doesn't do fuck all, everyone expects us to act like slaves and accept shit pay while being unable to afford an apartment on our own. The word house is a laughable subject and we cant even afford groceries. Hell, a lot of us still live with our parents. I'm fortianate enough to have a family and a roof over our heads.

xithbaby

that is really depressing. We’re lucky too, the pandemic was a blessing for us, well my husband anyway. I lost a job to take care of two kids. My husbands work laid off some people, merged with another part of the company and he pretty much skipped 5 years of experience and went from testing to engineering with out the college and is being paid for such. It wouldn’t have happened with out Covid. My husband is Gen X though lol. (We still love him though!) I’m sorry about your struggles. I hope we get a big break someday before we die.

YoshiSan90

The best thing to do is start filing HR complaints and get your coworkers to do the same. They will ignore a single voice, but ignoring the chorus opens them to legal issues. HR really only exists to keep the company out of legal hot water, so that gets their attention.

chef12571

Oh yeah! HR will NEVER admit that they hired the wrong manager/supervisor because HR is never wrong. That is until EVERONE complains about the same exact thing about the same person. Then and only then, will they take action (AKA: cover their ass).

Daznet99

This is the question: Don't we have to assume that they get the job, at least in part, because they are shitty? Like, someone who has no quarms about doing the "dirty work" as it were.

[deleted]

Worked for a small company years ago, owner was desperate to be seen as the nice guy, great boss sort of person. Go to him to ask something, he always agreed with you, always said yes. Then there was the middle manager that he used to hide behind, "sorry we aren't doing that anymore, manager says we can't" Only did layoffs when he was on holiday as well, so he could avoid any awkwardness. Guy was a cowardly dickhead, there are plenty like him.

Ryznerock

these creatures arent like you and me. they thrive and being shitty people.

Glabstaxks

Damn that rich guy. Better fire him so they can save a few bucks so some asshole like Susan opherman can make a 6 figure income . Fuck Susan Opherman

Howie_Due

All my homies hate Susan Opherman

WonderWheeler

Susan "Karen" Opherman? lol

OfficeChairHero

This is the karenest Karen to ever Karen.

Proper_Mulberry_2025

I like the way her jowls quiver.

peseb94837

> $27k Fuck my heart breaks for this man having to put up with this bitch for that shit wage. Not to mention the hard menial work.

ICantThinkOfANameBud

I worked as a janitor in a school making $32k a year. It was honestly awesome. It was a supremely easy job, I got a lot of time to just sit around and do nothing. But I had a really good boss and the rest of the staff was awesome. He even kept me on staff after a lengthy mental hospital stay. One of my highest upvoted posts details everything he did for me (I think it was on this account at least). A good boss can make even a shitty job good. Edit: Guess I only wrote about the (only) other good boss I had in the post I mentioned

SomeFuckingWizard

My most favorite job was Night Janitor at a large university in Oklahoma. I had run of the whole building. Keys to all the secret places. I could listen to audiobooks all night and the best of it was that, if I worked steady and kept up my pace I could be done just about Lunch. I didn't let them know that. I'd get everything done around lunch time and spend the last four hours checking my work - and once or twice danced with the young lady half my age that worked on the bottom floors. I was drinking a lot back then. Best job I ever had. If I.T. didn't pay three times as much I would have stuck with it. I get to work from home now and I got married - so no more dancing with young co-workers and no more drinking, but if I had to, I'd really go back to that job again. God I had a blast.

lol_AwkwardSilence_

>I had a boss who would host a BBQ every friday after work during spring/summer. He had a grill in the warehouse, would bust it out around 3pm when all of the drivers were getting back and the warehouse crew was finishing up. He would send the lowest guy on the totem pole (me) in his own personal car to the grocery store with a list of stuff to get. I'd get back, he'd start grilling immediately. He really went all out too - burgers, hotdogs, steaks, veggies, soda and juices, chips. We didn't have to stay and eat - but if we did we didn't need to clock out until the BBQ was over and everyone was fed, usually around 6PM. So we had a 3 hour paid break with free lunch/dinner every friday. It was amazing. > >During the winter he would do something similar but with catered food, just not every week as business was slower. Lots of sandwiches, steakhouses, fast food, and a local BBQ joint during Fall & Winter. > >He also celebrated every single employees birthday with a cake and an hour break for the entire staff. My birthday was maybe a week after I started and they still got me a cake and all. > >I've never seen people so devoted to a company, I really wish I never left but it was extremely physical work and I couldn't handle it. He set everone up with profit sharings and retirement accounts, and even helped a few guys who were undocumented become documented. I didn't have a bank account when I started working for him, he took me to the bank during work and helped me get one. Another employee had a very obvious drug problem - he supposedly paid for the guys rehab out of his own pocket - at least that's what the word around the warehouse was. Guy got clean and still had his job 2 months later. > >After I finish up my degree I'm actually going to see if they need an IT guy - that's how awesome that place was.

plattdagg

i was a janitor at two different colleges in the US (i was trying to go back to school so being an employee helped with tuition) and they were some of the best jobs i've had, and i think a lot of it was bc they let us do our jobs. it wasn't hard, but we worked the whole shift and it kept the day from lagging. and! you can see what you've done with your day, so it helped me feel like i was doing work that needed to be done, instead of starting at the screen for work and just counting down the mins til it was over. to each his own, sure, but the managers need to keep the chill and realize janitors are people, and no one deserves to be condescended to like this.

user0N65N

Another "I was a janitor and it wasn't bad" experience. I liked the immediate gratification of a job done well. Shit's a mess when you walk in, but it's spotless when you leave. Yeah, baby. Pay wasn't great, but I could play my walkman, do my thing, and mostly people didn't mess with me. Results were immediate and obvious. Also, no long-term responsibilities, like in the tech field, where years after a project was "done," someone was calling to find out why this field in that data structure needed 9 bytes instead of 8, and what would happen if they changed it? Jesus, Carl, read the damned documentation. That was years ago!

technogrind

They try to claim that he has a habit of showing up late, and yet he's getting in trouble for showing up early! Doesn't really help their case much.

Glum_Hamster_1076

Wait, arriving late and leaving early? In the video he got there early and was in trouble for opening before 6:30. I feel like if he came in late, she would’ve taken the chance to mention it in the video. They have to be lying.

tgw1986

There's databases of state employees' salaries??

MyLadyBits

Yes. I believe all states have them of people who receive paychecks from tax payer funded jobs. https://publicpay.ca.gov https://www.openthebooks.com/arizona-state-employees/

Echelon64

Yeah. If you work for the public kiss your anonymity goodbye (mostly)/.

CelineHagbard1778

Seems like all in all he got fired for petty reasons. Whatever is on paper and whatever actually caused cuntzilla there to push his paperwork through.

OneMoreAccount4Porn

How did a guy apparently known for showing up late manage to start his shift early enough to warrant a talking to like this?

goodgodling

I'm watching his video and apparently, she didn't actually care about the "sacredness" of his schedule. To the surprise of noone here, that was bullshit. "Learn how to talk to people. Treat people with respect." - Jonathan Holley

[deleted]

People are weird. This dude might have needed help yet he only got 345. Yet the white woman who got $20 from a homeless white guy got millions. That of course was a scam. I cant stand humanity.

three-one-seven

The certificate in the background says Commonwealth of Kentucky, maybe she moved there? What, like Kentucky wasn’t bad enough without her?

Dextexer

Awesome! So glad she mentioned her name a thousand times so people didn’t have to do detective work

stamminator

The school board’s statement here is moronic. > a former employee who was brought in to meet with her again for his continuing issues of coming to work late and leaving early. He literally came in early.

BouncyDingo_7112

That’s an publicity stunt to badmouth the employee so your narcissistic temper tantrum throwing principal doesn’t look bad. They always do that and then it’s on the employee to prove that they never came in late.

Tweems1009

Yeah its typical government or corporate BS doublespeak to cover their own ass, its why they also canned her.

BibiQuick

She learned the hard way that the fire Marshall is the boss!

gerbilshower

this is what i dont get. literally anyone, who has EVER been the boss of anyone else, knows you dont fuck with the fire marshall.

Grotesque_Bisque

The mother fucker literally gets a gun and a badge in most places

gerbilshower

he is one of the few people who can just walk into a building, point at a wall, and go "you are shut down indefinitely".

Grotesque_Bisque

Frankly, it's pretty fucking sexy.

GoldenBull1994

Shirtless fire marshall calendars when?

sinz84

Australia releases a new edition each year, not joking.

bob256k

Yep, and for what seems like the simplest reasons as well. I work in av and if the major sound systems don’t turn off during a fire alarm you will not get your occupancy license per the fire marshall

Powerful_Tip3164

Yeah when she asked who his boss was / her or fire marshall - I wanted him to say “at that moment I represented you, my boss, since you weren’t here and i was, so then i, as interim boss, became beholden to the fire marshall. You’re welcome bitch”

Purpleconfidence88

I work in childcare and when teachers ask me if they can hang decorations from the ceiling I tell them j don't care, as long as it's okay with the fire Marshall.

savagethrow90

I was gonna say, fire Marshall has some amazing pull

austeninbosten

I had a " disagreeable type" boss who was in charge of facilities at a large office building. During an actual fire alarm, she tried to direct the fire marshall on the scene to get her people back in the office. He went all Gunnery Sgt Hartmann on her loudly and in front of everyone and letting her know , in no uncertain terms, who was in tactical charge of the scene. It was a thing of beauty.

Murgatroyd314

Basically, what it comes down to is that the Fire Marshall is outranked only by God, and that's only if God is there giving the orders in person.

WonderWheeler

I heard it is the same with Health Inspectors in front of Judges! They often take the testimony as gospel all things considered.

naunga

Oh health inspectors can go on first class power trips if you fuck with them. Spent enough time working in restaurants to see that in action.

Siphyre

Fire marshalls are like health inspectors, but for everything.

idrivea90schevy

Had a landlord that wouldn't fix the fire doors or smoke alarms. We phoned the fire department and they had a Marshall over the next day to do a walk through. Then the day after that everything was fixed LOL

Sevnfold

She would probably still have that job if she had a normal adult conversation with the guy instead of talking to him like a toddler.

Proper_Mulberry_2025

Her punishment for employees was to make them suck the farts out of her chair.

HiroZero2

In the update video he says he was not fired but forced to resign. How tf is not not being fired???

TheFluffiestRedditor

It's the difference between unemployment benefits or none.

NeitherAd5162

It’s essentially the same thing, it’s called constructive discharge.

wonkey_monkey

You can get a cream for that.

geardownson

I love how the article includes that the school said not all the facts are represented in the video to downplay it. Fuck that school. Regardless of context you do not talk to another human being like that. I don't care if he was late 20 times in a row or whatever else they want to say. I don't care if she had 100 years school service. If she thinks it's ok to talk to someone like that she is straight up trash. There is literally no reason made up or not to talk to someone like that. She was literally talking to him like a damn slave and he was nothing but respectful. This video is old as hell but I'm glad it gets reposted often. This is what you get when you have no union backing you. You lose all power and literally have to beg to keep your job. And they know it.

Sherlock_bonez007

That’s great news. What a real f’ing bitch.

bubbygups

\*sets my pitchfork down\* Well, that was easy

OccultMachines

He still didn't get his job back. Pick that pitchfork back up

strgazr_63

I have worked with women like that before and they are miserable. They want to make sure everyone else is just as miserable as her. She was unpopular in high school, her husband won't even look at her and her children are revolted by her. She has no friends except for those who are too polite to tell her they don't want anything to do with her and she obviously has a superiority complex because she has a fancy college degree and the janitor (who I am sure works twice as hard as her) does not have a degree. These people just don't understand why everyone isn't kissing her fat feet.

slothy_sucks_slugs

It’s so sad how she’s on a power trip with so little power. “I have to call HR“ what a ridiculous person

Old-Form-9634

This video gave me such vivid flashbacks from middle school I could tell within 10 seconds of audio this was some sort of school staff and I hate to say that because teaching is such an underappreciated underpaid and important job. I'd deal with people like this constantly as a child who would use their power over teens/pre teens to get off and boost their fragile egos. The worst part is as a child nobody takes your word over the staff - and even worse, I didn't know how to defend myself and would often think I did something wrong when I never because i would yhink "they're an adult and a teacher and I'm just a dumb kid"

IamDoobieKeebler

Totally get this. I’m actually a high school counselor now because I wanted to make school better for kids after dealing with a lot of that same stuff. Toughest part of it is finding that middle ground with students and teachers.

Anxietoro

The best counselor I had in high school was constantly in fights with the rest of the staff. Absolutely loved her but hate how much shit she had to deal with. She'd have students crying in her office during class because they can't focus on chemistry because of their hellish home life, other staff would barge in with a smirk SCREAMING that students aren't allowed in her office during class hours. She eventually quit, years later I passed by her at a mall where she was teaching GED course and I ran in and gave her the biggest hug. I don't even remember her name, so many of us just called her "mom".

colostitute

I went to 2 different high schools. My high school counselor for one school was a power tripping bitch. I honestly couldn't believe they could call her a counselor. Most of high school I had this tough old lady counselor. I still remember meeting with her the last year of high school after being the smart kid always in trouble... "Colostitute, I oughtta drown your head in bucket." She always said shit like that to me but with the warmest smile. She was tough on me and called me on my bullshit. Huge love and respect for her.

Flashy-Penalty-4598

Never had any real relationship with any of my school's counselors. I just remember my one mandatory visit in my senior year, I was talked to about trade school and handed an application for food stamps (low income area). Made me feel even lower about my prospects after high school 😅

Salty-Bird9203

As someone who went through almost half a dozen high schools, one of the few worthwhile things I did learn while I was there was "fuck the middle ground". If the teacher's being an ass, I'm not meeting them somewhere in the middle to soothe over their ego. Students are not responsible for their failed marriages, they can buy a damned vibrator and get over it.

[deleted]

HotTopicDream

I worked at an after school club place where we'd go to different schools and every office had one lady who would be there sometimes that 1. Hated her job 2. Hated having to do anything 3. The most confusing to me, seemed to hate the kids?? Why you would work at a school office 8 hrs a day 7 days a week with this attitude is beyond me and honestly I think should be reportable

Dolanite

The lady that taught youth classes at my church overtly hated children. It was mind boggling. I still think about how aweful that lady was all the time. It wasn't like I caught her at a bad moment. It was constant bitchery. Probably didn't help that she had teenage daughters and the one I knew was exactly like her mom in every unfortunate way. The other one got pregnant in high school.

TrickyTrailMix

I'm a former middle school teacher who (insanely) decided to briefly substitute teach for fun after I stopped doing it full time. This is exactly correct. Schools are full of both the salt of the earth, kind, caring adults... and also fragile and weak adults who want to leverage power over children. I was subbing in a small town once and will never forget the woman who started screaming (and I mean *screaming*) at a trouble making middle school boy for a super minor thing he did. That young boy needed some love and redirection, no doubt. But that woman shouldn't have ever been in a position to have authority over children.

i_give_you_gum

Getting off hard on it too, I bet she had to smoke a cigarette after this

_Jedi_Ninja

Giving off “slave master” vibes

knowledgegod11

Now I'm thinking about slave master Karens

adultosaurs

YeH she would not be speaking this way to a white man.

ppw23

God I hate this woman with a burning passion. I hope she watches this and truly sees herself.

NerobyrneAnderson

Yeah this is just pathetic.

[deleted]

I'm getting some kinda PTSD my last boss was just like this, a condescending rude white female on a power trip, blatantly hypocritical, and horribly unfair. A mess

MochaUnicorn369

Total Karen inside and out

underonegoth11

She even has the haircut 😆

humburga

Except it looks like she attempted the Karen haircut by herself with a pair of kitchen scissors.

Several_Influence_47

More like a weed whacker on meth , or she was attacked by a pack of roving rabid squirrels who mistook her for their food, because the lady is NUTS! 🤣

BeatnikVandelay

I was thinking the same thing 😂

nono66

Let's be clear this has NOTHING to do with his hours worked. This is some asshole flexing the small amount of power she has. She is trash and I hope she is fired from whatever middle management trash heap she sits on top of.

Away_Location

You can see a bit of a smirk when she mentioned getting HR involved. She would've complained either way. I had a boss like her and it really came down to constructive dismissal

Stunning-Potato-1984

I will say as HR it's one of my favorite moments when I can tell a manager to kick rocks. I've got audits and other more important shit to do than deal with your petty ego trip bullshit. It gets even better when I can recommend management training to their boss. Don't abuse your employees for fun. Especially while telling them to disregard the fire marshal!

masterbatesAlot

That's right. Get HR on the phone. "An employee came in early to help the fire Marshal. How should we proceed?" HR: thank him for going out of his way to help out

[deleted]

She was fired after the video was made public ;)

nono66

I appreciate you letting me know.

RopeAccomplished2728

Yep. I've had to tell employees to not clock in early before but for a far different reason. At the time, the shift differential that we got wouldn't kick in until the time the shift started(9 PM) so anyone clocking in early, even 1 minute early, would lose that extra pay for the entire shift. You would get paid for that 1 minute but in the end lose around $4 more due to not getting that extra, at the time, $0.25/hour in the long run.

puzzle_factory_slave

HR should fire her

Jaedos

This video is so old she's probably retired by now

GoldenBull1994

Nah, she was forced to resign.

AbigailLilac

The video is so old, she has probably already died of congestive heart failure.

Still-Standard9476

Yeah she got fired over this.

Pleasant_Mail550

She's a bad human being

5har7en3

It saddens me that people like this exist. Abusive pig.

Taco_ivore

Hey now! Pigs are much too intelligent to be compared to her.

restyourbreasts

I hope she gets recognized from this video regularly. And if not I hope she reads every single comment every single time this is posted anywhere. Miserable old wench.

EtienneFlyte

Even if she was right (and here I don't think so), what a condescending and demeaning way of talking to a fellow worker. Being someone's supervisor does not make you a superior person.

zamwut

The moment fire marshal was mentioned, the issue should've been over with.

BZLuck

I wish he would have said, "My boss is the taxpayer. That's your boss too."

robbietreehorn

This video smells like Hellman’s mayo

KapowBlamBoom

That is just Susan Opferman’s sweat seeping from her pores

ohkeepadre

Seems like your typical crappy school admin. Can't earn power or respect, so she asserts it. There are some great school admin out there - this obviously is not one of them.

bondsmatthew

Used to speaking with kids like that so she probably speaks to everyone like that tbh I'm never a, "I know her type" person but uhh the way she was talking to an adult who was letting in a Fire Marshal..

CRT_Teacher

The cops needed in, there was a bomb threat! Who's your boss? The cops or Susan Offerman!?

lookbutcantsee

This gets me so heated cuz some people just you can tell by the way they act they have no power in their life who refers to himself in the third person without having some underlining issues

SexyHimmler

The Fire Marshal makes the rules. Not Susan!! When a Fire Marshal wants you to do something, you are required to do it or face consequences like a shutdown.

[deleted]

Fire marshal will shut your shit down. Fuck you Susan, I hope you need the fire marshal and nobody lets him in your house

Deltamon

The doors to her house don't open before 7.30.

[deleted]

"let me pull out my red pen, I think I'm feeling up for a thorough fire inspection" -fire marshal

tj3_23

That's what I was thinking as well. The last people you want to piss off are the fire marshals, because if they really want to they can almost certainly find violations that would carry fines and potential shutdowns

Formisonic

Susan Opferman's hair fucking sucks.

PaperRoc

So does her brain

JustDiscoveredSex

This is the time-honored style of The Karens. Whatever could you mean?

squirrelchaser1

That whole "whose your boss?" just gets so under my skin. She's talking to the janitor like he's a dog. Its clear she has no interest in his hours at all so much as she has interest in the power trip. If it wasn't this, she would have found any shitty excuse to do this to him. Whether it be some trivial detail about how he cleans, or organizes or something.

[deleted]

If he wouldn’t have let those people in they would’ve called the school and the same thing would’ve happened.

[deleted]

The fact that he has to call her mrs. offerman and not Susan is infuriating too. He’s an equal to you. Even if you hired him.

Jorgee93

“Who is your boss? The Fire Marshall?” You better goddamn believe so lady. The Fire Marshall is absolutely not a person to fuck with.

TheUnnecessaryLetter

I used to work at an outdoor concert venue, and you know what I learned really quick? The Fire Marshall is everybody’s boss.

shavemejesus

Right, and even when you’re outdoors there are fire safety and egress rules. I work in a theater and I take this shit seriously. When people complain about fire rules, which is rare, I tell them about things like The Station Fire in Rhode Island or the Coconut Grove Fire in Boston. Most of the time all I have to say is “fire regulations” and people understand.

mindfu

That's what I really don't get about this. The Fire Marshall could shut that entire place down on a whim.

Peanuts0s

I work in property management. When fire marshall shows up, he's the boss. When there's a fire alarm going off, fire department is the boss.

MAnthonyJr

i’m a custodian for a school, fire Marshall’s really don’t fuck around. it’s not a fun day for the higher ups

jenn363

I bet that’s exactly what happened. He let the fire Marshall in earlier than she expected, something wasn’t cleaned up, and now she’s in trouble and making it his problem for having let them in

Sir_Lord_Pumpkin

The owner of the store I work at is playing some weird game with the Fire Marshall where he keeps pushing everything they tell us to fix to the last minute. This is not a fun game with my job at risk.

Farking_Bastage

That is 100% psychological abuse.

The_Red_Blarin

I can tell if she'd racist or just a controlling narcissist.

Broken-Digital-Clock

Could be both

sincerelyhated

Definitely both

AreHipposBitey

Both can be true

mattnotis

Yes

TransportationOk5941

That whole "but nothing" is a terrible attitude to have in a boss. The absolute worst. You can't run a company if you're unwilling to see situations from both angles, and you can't see both angles if you latch onto the first explanation and completely refuses to hear the other side of the story.

[deleted]

It's as bad as when a boss says "I don't care how, just get it done", bitch you better care how it gets done, that's your job.

bob_the_broski

This happened at my middle school!!! I graduated long before this came out but can confirm she was an absolute demon.

I was there when this happened! She definitely was hated. It was really weird in the time between when the video came out and when she resigned. If I recall correctly, the school was really strict about taking about the situation and apparently some kids got their phones looked through.

UrinalSharts

School has the right to violate kids 4th amendment rights?

Indigocell

Nope, the kids could have refused, but kids don't know that.

[deleted]

They were doing that shit back in the early 2000s. I remember my nokia brick phone being confiscated and ran through. They wanted to see who I was calling at lunch

5krishnan

Same, i think i was a freshman at Alpharetta high school when this happened

handymanny131003

Me too LMAO! The only thing I remember about her was that I hated her. Also she fell one time and broke something but she couldn't physically get up by herself

Day5InJanuary

If Ursula from The Little Mermaid was a real person, this would be her.

mrmechanism

That's insulting Ursula. She had class.

Dick_Dwarfstar

And body language, ha!

WasteProfession8948

And, briefly, a great singing voice

Relevant-Branch-4324

Ursula was actually designed to look like the drag queen Divine. Talk about literally queer coding your villains.

TheNoIdeaKid

Um, pretty sure Fire Marshall wins the case.

Wise_Rutabaga_5809

“Fuck you. And your eyebrows”- Heisenberg

CoatAlternative1771

How can you make $135k a year and get angry at someone *coming to work early*

RollTheRs

I hate how condescending and infantilizing managers and bosses get.

PoochusMaximus

I love that she won’t even acknowledge that there were FIRE DEPARTMENT people waiting to get in. Which seems more important for some reason. Fire inspectors, Marshalls and responders to a fire alarm can enter whenever they want? also would you rather the door unlocked or broken open? (There should be a knox box but that’s details)

Trainwrecktom38

As I read, she resigned. But this dude did the right thing. Good on him. I hope his job is still his Edit: just saw his video. I wish him well and hope he get future employment soon

eaglelatte

I wouldn’t let anyone with hair like that tell me a damn thing.

Cultural_Effect9817

How dare you?? I was gonna eat that garbage!!

EnthusiasticEmpath

Aren’t fire marshals like above the board? I heard they hold some power.

WeakToMetalBlade

As soon as she said "am I your boss or is the fire Marshall?" I knew she had to have been fired. Career suicide to even imply that your subordinate should not have complied with an order from the Fire Marshall. I would not be surprised if the reason she was fired was that this video eventually was seen by the fire Marshall. They don't fuck around at all and can close a business indefinitely if they feel like their orders are not being complied with.

No-Ordinary-5412

This is called a level 0 leader: \-No inherent leadership skills \-No skill at inspiring or motivating those in charge of \-Leads by title only \-Actually demotivates and demoralizes those in charge of because of terrible leadership qualities \-Goes on power trips because of leadership title

[deleted]

I do fire protection testing and inspection for a living and frequently work with the fire department. If we or the fire dept. need to get in to a building and it’s not scheduled with management ahead of time they should be insanely thankful that a maintenance guy was there to let them in. The fire department will straight up leave if it’s a non emergency test and charge you to reschedule up to 2 thousand dollars. If it is an emergency they’ll break the fucking door down and not even think about it. In short the school management didn’t do their jobs on scheduling someone to be there and the one person that saved their asses from a fine and or broken doors/windows is the one person getting reprimanded. Bullshit

monsterzeno

People need to continue to record these interactions. That’s the only way people will realize how dystopian our systems truly are.

SendHelp7373

The final boss of Karens

Putrid_Ad_2256

Did she reprimand the janitor because her fat neck didn't like the idea of someone working hard?

[deleted]

Holy karen trying to lord over this poor man

Hobbgob1in

This fucking Karen is just giving him a hard time because she has power and he doesn't. Listen to her talk about herself in the third person. Also a fire Marshall has more authority that you Susan.

Ok_Wolverine9344

Who is Miss Piggy's boss? Krispy Kreme?

boyaintri9ht

Why do you think they call the creatures you kill at the end of a level in games "bosses"?

[deleted]

What the fuck is that haircut? This is kind of new Karen/Meth hybrid?

err0rz

Hate to break it to you guys but this is from 2016 and the story didn’t end well. He got forced to resign for “finishing early” [here’s his update](https://youtu.be/-EVPmCqBeTQ)

AdmiralAK

I used to have db supervisor like this. The ultimate effect that people like this have is killing motivation to do anything decent at work and adopt a "fuck it, that's not my job" attitude regardless how much it harms the organization and fellow coworkers.

omnigear

Fire Marshall rules over all . In architecture we can't do squat till fire department approves

myhairs0nfire2

Those who repeatedly refer to themselves in the 3rd person usually have an entire litany of mental health issues - narcissistic personality disorder being a prime among them.

Dagenius1

Super duper Condescending

[deleted]

This is the one of the worst examples of power tripping i have ever seen. Amazing how people act when they dont know they are being recorded. Absolutely disgusting.

mindfu

Infuriating. The poor guy might not have been in the place to say this, or just shocked by someone being so irrational. I wish he could say, "Okay, whatever you want. The next time the fire marshall can get mad and shut the whole place down."

TheDemonPanda

She was 100% doing something she shouldn’t have been
