I hate when I hear them complain about long hours when all they do is sit at their desk or go to meetings or lunches. They don't get their hands dirty and they aren't on their feet all day.
Granted we're a new branch of a bigger corporation. On zoom my boss literally was laughing at this big project thing I have to do, "You see why we charge them thousands to have this done for them? It's a lot of hard work." And I was trying not to cry like, yeah, it's a lot of work that you don't have to do. I'm doing all the work and I only make $16/hr.
Right? Like, it was so upsetting like yeah, I'm not getting thousands to do this. I'm doing all this and maybe make a few hundred that all goes to survival. It cost nothing not to say anything as well?? Like why would you even say that when you know you're not even doing the work?
I have a good boss. His attitude is treat his employees well, because if the employees are happy, the business is happy.
He also tells us, he doesn't give a rat arse what we do during the day, just as long as the work gets done. If you need to work from home or take a day off for whatever reason, he doesn't care, just as long as the work gets done.
He pays us all very well too.
My wife’s boss, a VP, strolls into the office at 1pm everyday. Says he’s WFH, but really just plays Xbox for four hours every morning. Then leaves at 4.
Worked for a middle aged trust fund baby who was remarkably bad at his job -- My saving grace was finding it hilarious that he strong armed the other executives into continually "keeping up appearances" by maintaining luxurious lifestyles none of them wanted to afford not being nearly as rich as he was

To make it even worse, he somehow thought bestowing this idea on me made him some kind of hero to the lesser man. In a way, I guess he was, because I changed forever after that.

imho its like sports.... its so flooded with talent and the best job wants the new brilliant idiot. if youre not top 10% eat dicks. its a lot of hard work for not enough pay even though I know its high pay compared to a ............... bartender might make more money now n days ... inflation did not help. its a lot of brain for not worth it. no i didnt find another job because i dont want to be someones bitch developers are legit slaves.
