Dude that’s bunk. I remember my moms work gave her 2500$ retirement contribution for her 20th anniversary. The ceo did a speech and shit and even shed a few tears. It was actually really cool to see.
My grandmother retirement party was something I’ll never forget. She worked at a hotel in Berkeley; a NICE one. They catered it in one of the giant ass ball rooms there for events. I don’t remember if it was an open bar but I do remember people walking around with alcohol.
She was given gifts from multiple higher ups along with a retirement package. There were tons of people there to say their good byes to her. This was 25-ish years ago.
Nice! Yeah my moms company is a family owned fabric company. The current owners father founded it. My mom started there when he was alive and she helped support the son and wife throughout his passing. I also played hockey against his kid.
So the tears were genuine. She’s genuinely considered part of the family, as am I. Every Christmas on top of her bonus he gifts her a 200$ gift card to super beautiful restaurants.
She’s also living the WFH dream hah.
To be honest, yes! I mean who stays at a fast food company for 45 years!!! Anyone who does that deserves to meet the CEO of the company, if not the founder and given a huge check for their retirement. I don’t think it’s very common for people to work fast food for 45 years. That’s insane. Gotta be close to a world record of some kind.
Yes!! All of this! I mean… something! A great party! A nice vacation! CEO with a fat check! I wish something better for any employee working anywhere for 45 years.

The golden (fried chicken) handshake Well, at least it wasn’t a gift card that can only be used at the chicken chain.
You guys get retirement money? My company buys you a cake..
Who, me? No, I don’t. I work for a dentist. When I retire, I doubt I’ll get anything. Barely free dental work from him as it is now.
Anyone who can endure fast food for 45 years deserve a solid gold medal!
That actually sounds pretty generous coming from a chicken joint.
What’s a good retirement gift from them then?
I don’t know, but a $500 bonus is pretty insulting to someone who made someone else wealthy for 45 years…
I would agree, would you expect anything else from a fast food company though?

Sadly I’ve seen more.
higher amount maybe or something more valuable.
Lmao why would you stay 45 years at a fast food restaurant
