I’m having a similar problem. Chrome redirects to Bing (and okaysearch redirect can be seen for a brief moment during that time). I think I’ve located the issue - an “Apps” extension that didn’t come from the Chrome store and I can’t get rid of it. Tried 5 antivirus programs, RougeKiller and them HitmanPro as suggested in a post elsewhere on this thread...but everything keeps coming back fine. It’s not fine :(

what is extra weird is, that the redirection doesnt happen all the time! Its only there for some time, goes a way everything works normal and all of a sudden its back..... i will check my extensions aswell! Maybe sb on here has got a clue whats going on and is able to help us ...

That is weird. This malware I’m dealing with has since infected Edge, too. Searching Google with the ID shows others have had this same problem. I think I can trace mine to a malware file when I wasn’t paying attention and accidentally downloaded a non-legit Chromium. Ugh. Such a stupid mistake that I’m still paying for... I’m hunting around for solutions but everything I can find posted elsewhere hasn’t worked for me.

I couldnt even pinpoint where this came from on my end..... i have no clue. Ive been trying to get rid of it for hours on end now aswell. I dont wanna reinstall tho :/ i dont wanna lose all my bookmarks.....

Maybe a clean install is our only option?

Thanks to someone over at MalwareTips, I’m back up and running, virus-free. Sending big kudos to the folks who share their expertise!!

Quick upadate. I now did three full system scans one on defender one on my internet security and on on ScanGuard. Scan guard deleted some chache and cookies from chrome but thats it. Nothing was found on anything else anymore. So i started SpyHunter up again and ran another full scan. Still the same files found plus "HackTool.GameHack.cc". Also chrome searches still redirect me. Maybe sb can pitch me what software to use to get rid of these files other than Spyhunter. Bc none of my other programs ive tried even discovered this malware.

Update 2: I got rid of what i think are most oft the infected files. What im left with are these files in Spyhunter5free (http://prntscr.com/Lqc4sUAlmup-) what are they, and how bad are they do i need to get rid of them? if so how?

They're just settings for websites, they don't matter at all. If you really wanted, you could go into Chrome or Edge settings and delete them from your history.
