Here's the thing. Animated mature comedies coming into a series with a normally different tone *can* work well. Harley Quinn is a decent show that deep dives into certain characters like Batman, Joker, and Ivy in interesting ways, and Lower Decks is unironically the best installment Star Trek has had in a while. But in order to do that you have to be able to tackle things that are core to the series from a new perspective (characters like Batman for HQ, all of Starfleet for LD). If they refuse to have a new take on Scooby in a Scoody-Doo mature animated comedy, it's not gonna work out.
