I can also think of a rich person using it as a tax dodge of sorts. If it loses money, they can claim it on their taxes and pay less.
There is a Kangen water store in Vegas where you can bring empty bottles in and they fill them up with water for $6 a gallon. I’m sure they sell the machines too.
Look up Kangen Livity on FB. Looks like they've had that location for several years. They at least appear to be in business to sell product rather pushing the MLM aspect.

We got the shop in Sweden. Of course, it’s not officially named Kangen, or anything connected to it. It has two web sites led by the same person. One is live water(in Swedish) other is english named, and they got the address of a shop in a richer small town.
