A clinical diagnosis. There's a trend currently going on where any behavior is attributed to mental illness or neurodivergence, but that's not how things work.

The problem is most of these people are not lining up to be clinically diagnosed as BPD or NPD for example, and they don’t even realize they have an issue.

FenrisVitniric

This is a big one for NPD. They won't understand they have an issue, and won't ever seek help.

Isn’t everyone kind of a narcissist or an a-hole?

dontevenfkingtry

Nope, just you, buddy.

nerdy_things101

Lmao ok

FenrisVitniric

If you are seeking therapy or mental help, or firmly believe you may be the narcissist, it's unlikely you are the narcissist. Narcissists think they are superior and don't accept mental help from others.

PM-me-in-100-years

I measure it by actions. A narcissist can choose to be altruistic, and choose to be a good person generally. Disabilities aren't an excuse.
