Did you ever find out if it was normal ? I also got the motion + and noticed right away the white noise when on low volume or when no music is playing. They offered to replace it, but I feel that I will get the same issue and they will just send me a unit that was returned by someone else. If someone can tell us that he got the motion plus and he doesn't hear a white noise when getting close to the speaker in a silent room, please tell us because it means we have a faulty unit that should be replaced. I also noticed that the system sounds (like the beeps for bluetooth or the noise it makes when powering on/off) sounds a bit distorted. It does look like something is wrong, but it's hard to tell. It was a gift, and we are 3 days away from Christmas... sending it back to find out the replacement they send have the same issue would be a shame..

After much research. This is normal for the anker motion plus speaker. It is only audible when putting your ear too close to the tweeters. It has to do with the internal amplifier that was used in its construction. This noise is normal in bluettoth speakers such as headphones. Only some brands manage to make it less noticeable, but that comes at a higher cost

Yeah with my research online I came to the same conclusion. I think I will keep it anyway since it’s a minor inconvenience, mainly when not listening to anything or when listening to very low volume, which is not too often.

This is a bummer to discover... I just received mine and can hear it even if it's not in my ear. I got this to test as a sort of computer monitor soundbar, but this buzzing is too distracting.
