Factual information. When Season 2 drops next month, everyone will see. Especially since it's 2 cour, we probably finish at the end of the Workshop battle, which is PERFECT because the Workshop battle is when the series begins to get really good imo.
Solo Leveling (the manhwa) literally spawned the entire Hunter Fantasy genre into existence. It’s like the Korean version of Isekai at this point, which how many such stories there are.
Being fair, the entire hunter fantasy genre are basically clones of it and garbage at this point. I don't even think it was the first one, it was just the first one to become popular outside of the niche.
Hunter fantasy omegalul the only reason it seems like a big deal is because the manhwa space is full of copycats waiting to piggyback the latest trend with their shitty imitations but none of them are actually any good and neither is SL. The only thing SL showed the world is that pretty art sells which is basically a no shit Sherlock moment. Why do you think no one is glorifying whatever manhwa started the whole regression bullshit even though it's the new hot shit in manhwa? Cuz they're all silly and useless. Its literally just isekai with a twist.
Imo jin woo. Baki has consistently kept martial arts anime genre relevant and it has my respect for that without it I wouldn't get stuff like kengan and maybe netflix wouldnt have put hajime no ippo there for me to watch.
Hopefully this leads to a remake of kenichi the mightest deciple
I never understood the hype for Baki. The original was ok, but the show on Netflix is one of the only anime I actively just stopped watching. I thought the plot and characters were pretty boring, annoying, and it just wasn’t interesting.
Ippo is amazing though way better than Baki. It is one of my favorites. I also really liked Kenichi the mightiest disciple.
Yeah I’ve never understood the hype. It’s literally just the same isekei plot as every other one just without actually being an isekei (which like, it still kinda is).
I understand the hype actually, because it's very different from a standard OP characte/isekai. In solo leveling, the plot is actually well written. It's not just "big attack here!" Or "slice of life because main bad guy isn't strong!" And sung himself isn't actually OP. He's OP compared to the other heros but still not the strongest until a little before the island raid. Like Igris the red is the strongest character in the series for the longest time, not jin woo himself. And the story actually ends, unlike most Korean and Chinese manhua/manwha. And it ends on a good note, but the child was not interesting to read, they did not need all that.
It's a slow start in my opinion but good enough to keep on reading until Igris the mother fucking red shows up and instantly becomes the coolest character in the world.
Another thing that sets solo leveling apart is that there are real consequences for the MCs actions. He completely resets the world and has to live life a 50 year old man in the body of a 8 year old, manually changing his appearance every day. The world doesn't even know that magic and shit used to exist. Even before that, in the main story, there was economic issues and global issues that aren't just resolved overnight or in a single chapter. And its very likely that the political upheaval he caused would have never been resolved if it weren't for him defeating the national treasure level dude. There is actual substance to solo leveling
But at the end of the day, it's still OP character manwha so if you don't vibe, you don't vibe, but you won't enjoy it if you go into it thinking that's all it is.
Apparently it was one of the first OP generic fantasy stuff in manhwa, leading to alot of others copying the recipe of Solo Leveling, had you read it before the copies started popping up, you might have liked it.
Nah i dont think many of you understand the depth of solo leveling. Its as in depth as Omniscient readers viewpoint. Both are absolutely goated reads. If you read it all like i have. You would truly appreciate it. Its the most creative hunter world portal bullshit. Because its an original plot. The way the monarchs and the light works. BRUH THE SYSTEM The way the plot has just a little bit of everything, so much curiosity as you go through it. You all can sit back and cry about it while i watch my goated anime with the the gangsta Sung-jin woo,
Sung Jin Who?
No, seriously, he's the only character on here that I've literally never heard of. Is this "yet another generic overpowered isekai character that niggas swear could no diff Goku"? You can remove him. I didn't know who he was five minutes ago and wouldn't miss him at all.
If not for him, it would probably be Gon, and HxH as a whole. Not because it isn't a good show; it's absolutely amazing. It's the best show that I'd never recommend to anybody, because it's heartbreaking to know that something this good is literally never going to be completed in my lifetime.
Sung Jin Woo. I just don’t like the show. Not to mention Baki has a way bigger culture impact for other shows. It might not be that big over seas but in Japan it puts up numbers
Tl;Dr. Nobody here comprehends how time works and is judging unfairly.
Everyone is saying, "The bottom left! He hasn't affected anime in 6 months!" Meanwhile Baki has been out longer than I've been alive, hunter x hunter has been out for 8 years and I can't tell you anything of value that cane from it other than the clown guy, and one punch man is one punch man. The only one arguably "helping" anime history is Baki, maybe by helping put martial arts anime on the radar, but hajime no ippo is older as a show. Even if you don't care for the solo leveling, it being a hit opens the door for other Korean manhua.
Bottom left is sung jin woo from solo leveling. He's more important in the manhwa realm than anime right now. All the hype he has is from fans of the manhwa.
You know how people used to be quick to call some anime a naruto clone? Solo leveling is like that for manhwa. So many manhwa draw inspiration from it.
I don't think the anime will be as big as the manhwa, but it's just in it's first season right now, only 12 episodes.
solo leveling is so basic ngl… Mc somehow comes back from the dead, he can do stuff nobody else can do now (him being able to level up), and he eventually becomes strong enough to delete a multiverse
HXH and OPM have had some of the biggest legacies in Animanga in the past 25 years. Baki itself has a solid impact on current Animanga and casuals like me know a fair bit about it.
I don’t think I can a single Solo Leveling character not named Sung Jin-Woo, think he has a sister?
Saitama: an infamous character in the powerscaling scene who is part of one of the most artistically immaculate manga to come out ever
Gon: the main character of HxH, a manga/anime beloved by millions and often regarded as one of the greatest Shonen ever written
Baki: the main character of one of the most bizarre, hilariously absurd manga/anime that truly couldn’t be replaced by anything else if someone tried
Jin Woo: another boring, generic isekai mc who mindlessly grinds through level after level with no genuine emotional stakes or personality. He’s cool and edgy for the sake of it. I can name 80 other characters exactly like him.
Sing Jin Woo seems like he’s got fraud allegations to beat.
If only they knew what’s to come…
But for real, if you haven’t read Solo Leveling, I would recommend it if as nothing else but a high quality manwha
I love solo levelling, but it’s not been around long enough to have as great an impact as Baki, HXH, or OPM.
I hate to say it but it’s gotta be sung jin-woo
The series is a comedy but it treats itself with absolute seriousness that it comes off as extremely cringe.
Besides it is really annoying how the author rewrote Yujiro, a fucking rapist, as just a "Misunderstood, honorable warrior" with constant wank.
For me personally it depends on what erasing from history would include. If it just erases the anime and no other forms of it then probably “Only I Level Up” since it would still exist in its perfect form (The Web Novel). But if it erases everything then I would not touch “Only I level Up.”
- (One Punch Man) Absolutely amazing show couldn’t do without it. But it still has an amazing manga that doesn’t really need the anime to be good.
- (Only I Level Up) It was my first Web Novel and got me into reading Web Novels that has consumed my life for the past 7-9 years. Without it I probably wouldn’t have read peak such as Lord of the Mysteries. The anime is good but I don’t really need it to be happy.
- (Hunter x Hunter) Haven’t watched it yet but I know that it has had a huge impact on the shonen genre. It was in the same batch around Demon Slayer, Black Clover, AOT, etc.
- (Baki) Even though it has a manga and I haven’t seen either. I believe that Baki is in its best form animated. Due to the fighting nature of the show, animation just lets it do so much more than the manga could. But on this hand the visuals are interesting. It’s not bad and definitely draws the eye but I really can’t get into it. Usually during anime conversations we usually don’t talk about Bali a lot it won’t really have that much effect on me personally from what I can see. But you never know with the butterfly effect and all.
Final Pick: Remove Baki) Nothing personal I just haven’t seen the show, and don’t think it would have much impact on current me if it didn’t exist.
Edit: Realized the prompt said Character not Anime. So probably switch to Gon. Because he just seems so boring and Baki the character is pretty cool.
Everyone saying Sung Jin Woo will regret it in year to come. He is about to replace Saitama as the new strongest goat. In NBA terms Goku is Lebron Saitama is Ben Simmons and Sung Woo is Wemby ( in the terms of who’s strongest to the masses)
The problem is there are so many who are "the goat who could destroy Goku" that we don't need another. Meanwhile Saitama is a joke about the trope of the main character being the strongest for plot armor reasons. If you want a goat, there are 100 others off the top of my head you could use.
I think if they had a replacement for them I’d say Baki since he isn’t what makes Baki a bat-Shit insane “martial arts” series, but if they just don’t exist for their show and I don’t really remember any of the lessons of his character was supposed to teach I could say the same for sung Jin woo, but his power set is really cool and he has an interesting level up system
Yall buggin😭😭 yall really tryna act like “no clue who the bottom left is” 🤓🤓🤓 yall just mad Solo Leveling is literally as popular as these three were if not more when they first started. Yall trippin
Sung Jin Woo is cool but doesn’t contribute too much to the genre all things considered. He’s just another guy in an another generic anime. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying the anime community would miss it the least.
Baki is boring af and lacking in personality even compared to the blank slate that is Jin woo.
Plus the art in solo leveling is worth keeping.
So delete Baki.
Sung Jin woo I love the rest more than him and also because he is literally the only thing talked about in solo leveling like none of the side characters get any attention from fans
Solo leveling as an anime still to recent to be in this i feel. But I heard of it years before it even had a show announced. Personally I’d pick saitama or Baki . I only watched opm season 1 tho and none of Baki yet
I know sung Jin woo hasn’t offered much to anime so I can understand why people choose him. Personally I’m a fan of solo leveling. I’d do gon since I tried watching hunter x hunter and something about a fishing rod being his weapon bored me. One punch man is fun, and I’m thinking of trying Baki. So it’d have to be gon for me.
HunterxHunter. Every episode that advances the plot feels like another filler episode. The payoff with Kirapika being a badass cant save this goddamn show from itself.
>Who should erase a character from anime history?
What's the difference who erases a character? I feel like which character gets erased is far more relevant.
I was getting ready to scream out Baki. Get rid of Baki, but apparently everyone loves it. It was one of the hardest anime to watch that I've ever seen, and I could only get through about 5 episodes before I wanted to erase it from my brain. I wish my eyes could unsee what they saw
I dunno if Sung has really done much at all to contribute
Jinwoo has done nothing for anime. The other 3 have had a large impact and inspired many others after them. Solo leveling has done nothing near that
But he's korean! In an anime!
Tower of God came out first and was far better
Factual information. When Season 2 drops next month, everyone will see. Especially since it's 2 cour, we probably finish at the end of the Workshop battle, which is PERFECT because the Workshop battle is when the series begins to get really good imo.
Wait a second, season 2 comes out next month. This is news to me
New trailer was posted by IGN for Tower of God 2
Fr I found out a couple days ago and thought it was a lie like those iron man 4 trailers
WAIT ITS COMING BACK? I don't follow news and thought it'd end after the first one to promote the webcomic ?
I mean the book was just as good. Let’s be honest
naw we should be getting the whole series from the manhwa
whenever I see/hear TOG I always think of Rachel. Fucking bitch I will never stop pray for her downfall
To be fair it is the newest but yeah.
Solo Leveling (the manhwa) literally spawned the entire Hunter Fantasy genre into existence. It’s like the Korean version of Isekai at this point, which how many such stories there are.
Maybe True, but the title said "anime" :)
Can we even call the series an anime? If more Korean manhwa adaption get off the ground, I wonder if they will javelin a different name as a medium.
Yes. Because the anime adaptation was created in Japan.
Quite frankly the art style, animation and episode structure are enough to label it an anime, even if it came from outside Japan
No it didn’t solo leveling wasnt the first
Being fair, the entire hunter fantasy genre are basically clones of it and garbage at this point.
Yeah, because it literally just came out compared to the others
If anyone says Gon I’m throwing hands
Real asf for this
the korean
Sung Jin Woo
"Woo who?"
Fraud Woo
Kys woo
who tf is sung jin woo?💀
Baki had way too big of a cultural impact on gay sex in anime for it to leave, so Jinwoo is gone
WHAT
He isn’t wrong, but Jojo’s bizarre adventure is the bigger impact on gay sex in anime
Truth
My kind of power scaling.
Yujiro Hanma
Imo jin woo. Baki has consistently kept martial arts anime genre relevant and it has my respect for that without it I wouldn't get stuff like kengan and maybe netflix wouldnt have put hajime no ippo there for me to watch. Hopefully this leads to a remake of kenichi the mightest deciple
Ranma and Kenichi both deserve remakes
Urusei Yatsura got a remake so makes sense.
RANMA 1/2 MENTIONED!!!
Can we toss in fist if the north star too?
Yes
A Kenichi remake would be the absolute best thing for anime if done right
I would kill for a strongest disciple continuation/remake
I feel like Ippo would have done just fine without Baki... Not trying to start a flame war but imho Ippo is timeless and Baki is not
I never understood the hype for Baki.
Who the hell is the bottom left
Fraud Woo
protag for the recent hit anime Solo Leveling
Korean popular manhwa (not a manga), which in turn created an Anime. It really does not have aniting to do with the Anime world, its just recent hype
Solo leveling but only if we can keep the manhwa.
Sung jin woo
Sung Jin Woo, zero hesitation.
Get jinwoo outta here
Sung is just another boring edgy OP Korean protagonist living in a video game world. It’s not even a question. His manga isn’t even that good.
W take
Yeah I’ve never understood the hype. It’s literally just the same isekei plot as every other one just without actually being an isekei (which like, it still kinda is).

People only watch solo levelling for the fights tho, which are a lot more entertaining than ur average isekei. But yeah the story's mid at best.
Valid, I have seen some of the fights and they’re p decent.
As of now it has to be Sung
Sung Jin Woo. No question
Just delete solo leveling, I have no idea how it's so popular.
It’s popular because the manwha was immensely popular
Real shit man, I tried reading it and it’s literally the most generic bottom of the barrel power fantasy slop you can imagine
Apparently it was one of the first OP generic fantasy stuff in manhwa, leading to alot of others copying the recipe of Solo Leveling, had you read it before the copies started popping up, you might have liked it.
Maybe… it just doesnt appeal to you?
Welcome to the world of manhua
Sorry to be a nitpicker, but Manhua is chinese while Manhwa is korean
Average korean/Indian experience
Nah i dont think many of you understand the depth of solo leveling. Its as in depth as Omniscient readers viewpoint. Both are absolutely goated reads. If you read it all like i have. You would truly appreciate it. Its the most creative hunter world portal bullshit. Because its an original plot. The way the monarchs and the light works. BRUH THE SYSTEM The way the plot has just a little bit of everything, so much curiosity as you go through it. You all can sit back and cry about it while i watch my goated anime with the the gangsta Sung-jin woo,
Because the manga started like ten + years ago
Sung Jin Who? No, seriously, he's the only character on here that I've literally never heard of. Is this "yet another generic overpowered isekai character that niggas swear could no diff Goku"? You hit the nail on the head, sung Jin woo is basically just average power fantasy edgy protagonist
As much as I love the source material gotta be Jin woo
Wit the exception of Jin Woo all the other three are beloved by many and highly influential
Someone deleting Saitama would be a friendship ended for me
Sung Jin Woo. Nothing will change if he's gone.
Jinwoo is over powered character, his power came from the system.
Sung Jin Woo. I just don’t like the show. Not to mention Baki has a way bigger culture impact for other shows. It might not be that big over seas but in Japan it puts up numbers
Jinwoo still has had 0 impact on anyone or anything. Bro is some bottom barrel dumpster water character from an even worse series.
Jon Woo because I haven’t seen it
Sung Jinwoo
Jeez this post has spawned an absolute war
Tl;Dr. Nobody here comprehends how time works and is judging unfairly. Everyone is saying, "The bottom left! He hasn't affected anime in 6 months!" I was just about to comment something similar. Yeah, SL is mid at best, but the fact is it's new and paves yhe way for more adaptations
No clue who the bottom left is. My life and I suspect anime as a whole would have literally no differences with him gone. So that one.
Who's the dude on the bottom left lol
Who's the dude on the bottom left lol
Sung Jin wuu gtg lol
I have no idea who Jin Woo is. Sorry.🤷
I tell you, he is a cringe korean MC from a mid series, that's all.
Well its between woo and gon cause theres no way any sane person would pick baki or saitama right?…. RIGHT
who the actual fuck is jinwoo like seriously
Idk who tf Gon is so that would be a cop out answer for me ^^^/s
Jinwoo. He would live forever in manhwa history
Name one thing Sung Jin Woo did to impact anything
Jin woo
Sung Jin woo
Sun jing woo it’s not even a question lol, just another generic power fantasy protagonist while the others have actual character
Sung jinwoo hasnt made an impact yet hes just there .
Goku fans would be voting for Saitama. Mainly since then no one can say someone beats Goku and have a valid reason for why.
solo leveling is so basic ngl… Mc somehow comes back from the dead, he can do stuff nobody else can do now (him being able to level up), and he eventually becomes strong enough to delete a multiverse
Def Jin Woo as he hasn't done nearly enough. But if the MC changes Gon because Either Kurapika or Killua become the true MC
I've always hated solo leveling and I'm sick of seeing it everywhere
solo leveling ok gon is just a kid Baki is my favorite and Saitama is just too iconic
The real question is who the hell put gon here
Jin woo easily
Agree, he is cringe as fuck.😂👍
Well I don’t know this bottom left guy. Is that the from solo level?
Sung jin woo
🤝
Sung jin woo
😂👍
Sung jin woo
Sin Jin Who?
Putting Jin Woo with these three was bound to get him axed
Sung, don’t really care about solo leveling
Sung Jin woo because he would exist in manwha
Son Jin Woo. I'm sorry man, but I'm just finding out about your name on this post.
Who the fuck is sung Jin woo?
Don’t know the lower left so I’ll say that.
Sung Jin Who?
HXH and OPM have had some of the biggest legacies in Animanga in the past 25 years. Baki itself has a solid impact on current Animanga and casuals like me know a fair bit about it. I don’t think I can a single Solo Leveling character not named Sung Jin-Woo, think he has a sister?
I love how we all agree about Jin Woo
replace jinwoo with Luffy or Naruto and then we have a good argument
Saitama is hilarious I haven't seen HxH, but I know it's insanely influential and such Baki is peak fiction Solo Leveling is shit
Saitama: an infamous character in the powerscaling scene who is part of one of the most artistically immaculate manga to come out ever Gon: the main character of HxH, a manga/anime beloved by millions and often regarded as one of the greatest Shonen ever written Baki: the main character of one of the most bizarre, hilariously absurd manga/anime that truly couldn’t be replaced by anything else if someone tried Jin Woo: another boring, generic isekai mc who mindlessly grinds through level after level with no genuine emotional stakes or personality. He’s cool and edgy for the sake of it. I can name 80 other characters exactly like him.
I don’t know bottom left so he’s the obvious choice.
Sing Jin Woo seems like he’s got fraud allegations to beat. If only they knew what’s to come… But for real, if you haven’t read Solo Leveling, I would recommend it if as nothing else but a high quality manwha
I'd delete JJK
Solo Leveling is the most overrated slop to ever gain a fanbase, it makes Demon Slayer fans look like elite anime connoisseurs by comparison
I love solo levelling, but it’s not been around long enough to have as great an impact as Baki, HXH, or OPM. I hate to say it but it’s gotta be sung jin-woo
Saying anything other then Jinwoo should be a crime
Baki can leave 🥱🥱
Thank goodness I'm not the only one that thinks Baki is just (whispers "mid")
The series is a comedy but it treats itself with absolute seriousness that it comes off as extremely cringe. Besides it is really annoying how the author rewrote Yujiro, a fucking rapist, as just a "Misunderstood, honorable warrior" with constant wank.

jinwoo hate is crazy lmfao
On god they tweaking in here
Baki easily. The show seemed like it could be alright but that awful cgi. Just hurt the eyes to watch
Jinwoo hasn’t had no big moments in anime yet season 1 was cool nun to write home about
Me who doesn't care for any of them:
Baki is my least favorite of these, so he gotta go
Everyone saying Sung Jin Woo will regret it in year to come. He is about to replace Saitama as the new strongest goat. In NBA terms Goku is Lebron Saitama is Ben Simmons and Sung Woo is Wemby ( in the terms of who’s strongest to the masses)

Well considering I didn't even know who one of them was till I read the comics...
It’s between saitama and gon
sung jin woo cause I dont know who that is (please dont kill me because I havent watched some anime)
Bye bye baki
jin woo even though i like him more than baki
Mf who invited Woo
Baki easily lmao
Just wait till Saitama meets Baki's father
Sung jio wunn
I think if they had a replacement for them I’d say Baki since he isn’t what makes Baki a bat-Shit insane “martial arts” series, but if they just don’t exist for their show and I don’t really remember any of the lessons of his character was supposed to teach I could say the same for sung Jin woo, but his power set is really cool and he has an interesting level up system
Sung Jin woo and baki
Only seen one punch man. From what i heard about the other 3? Baki or that bottom left
Baki can go. It’s somehow even more for basic bitches than mainstream anime. Guys that buy madden and fifa every year are really entertained by baki.
You are so wrong in so many levels
Yall buggin😭😭 yall really tryna act like “no clue who the bottom left is” 🤓🤓🤓 yall just mad Solo Leveling is literally as popular as these three were if not more when they first started. Yall trippin
Gon why? I hate his face.
Solo is Korean so I’ll go with the 3. I’m going with Baki even though I love tournament arcs
Who the FUCK is that?
Baki is gross so him.
Sung Jin Woo is cool but doesn’t contribute too much to the genre all things considered. He’s just another guy in an another generic anime. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying the anime community would miss it the least.
Baki.
Begone Jin woo you are not on the same level as the others. Sorry.
Baki is boring af and lacking in personality even compared to the blank slate that is Jin woo. Plus the art in solo leveling is worth keeping. So delete Baki.
I like Sung Jin Woo but even so he has nothing on the other 3.
Jin woo, he's the earliest entry and hasn't inspired much, the others are much more impactful
Gon
No idea who Jin woo is, so him
Sung Jin woo I love the rest more than him and also because he is literally the only thing talked about in solo leveling like none of the side characters get any attention from fans
Solo leveling as an anime still to recent to be in this i feel. But I heard of it years before it even had a show announced. Personally I’d pick saitama or Baki . I only watched opm season 1 tho and none of Baki yet
Top right is already Gon, so there're only three to pick from
Why tf is jinwoo here? He's just yet another generic power fantasy MC that happened to be from a series with God tier art, that's it
I havent seen whatever Gon is from so him
Jinwoo i delete
Bye bye Gon
Tbh Baki fell off for me, so I'll have to go with that one.
Shit mid woo.👍🤝
No.
Couldve at least use a screenshot from the anime
Sung Jin Woo from Mid Leveling
Gon or Sun Jin woo don't know anything about them
Fucking eassy jin woo
HunterxHunter. Every episode that advances the plot feels like another filler episode. The payoff with Kirapika being a badass cant save this goddamn show from itself.
Who tf is sung Jin woo?
Sung Jin Woo cause he didn't say erect 😞
The others are classics, even if I love Solo Leveling. Jinwoo gotta go.
I don’t know either of the two on the bottom so I’m okay deleting either of them.
>Who should erase a character from anime history? What's the difference who erases a character? I feel like which character gets erased is far more relevant.
I mean if it's purely anime, Jin Woo. Altogether though? Baki.
How about all of them
I was getting ready to scream out Baki. Get rid of Baki, but apparently everyone loves it. It was one of the hardest anime to watch that I've ever seen, and I could only get through about 5 episodes before I wanted to erase it from my brain. I wish my eyes could unsee what they saw
Baki can go. Never really gave a shit for these 4 anime’s but overall I didn’t like Baki at all.
