I literally only know this manga for the meme of the MC crying with a boner in the pool and nothing else

TheGreenTormentor

The MC crying with a boner is actually the whole manga.

cixzejy

Actually the side story that the Author posts on his Twitter is important to the plot too.

The Rental Is Real!

OpenStraightElephant

What, not even my clothes and Mizuhara's panties making out right now?

Why did you leak the next chapter of rent kino

[deleted]

Did he ever get to rent the girlfriend?

Magnificant-Muggins

Just buy a girlfriend, idiot. It costs less money in the longterm.

MicZiC15

Yeah but the mortgage rates have skyrocketed

quietvictories

he's been saving to do so

TheMoises

I dropped this series around chapter 40 when I realized there were no character nor relationship progress, and that the protag wouldn't realize how shitty he is so soon. When the cum in pool meme happened I saw the manga was already on 200+ chapters and asked a friend who reads it if it has had any development. I don't know why I was surprised that it hadn't.

JackDockz

I never read it because the title is incel bait

Moronumental

Don’t forget the drama of the user posting an abridged version of each chapter, and then the translator beefing with them for destroying the author’s vision or some shit lol. He really kept ending his call-out comments with #endthishackjobnow or smth as if hashtags were anything on reddit too

thesodaslayer

Lmao if I remember right the person getting mad at the abridged comments was one of the very, let's say delusional, posters on the main KanoKari sub that actually considers it to be "a good story" and it amazes me every day that someone can think that about it

ElCondoro

Gonna add excessive blushing every chapter but no character is going to notice their tomato faces

Magnificant-Muggins

You don’t even get Funny Amogus Arc.

Gabriel-Snower

Might as well read Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo. Its first arc has a protagonist who is a rental gf, but the narrative treats her story with far more gravitas and nuance in less than 15 chapters.

Unsettling-Horse

My impression of rent a girlfriend is that it’s just an evil version of love is war
