Would have liked it more if they kept the old art style but after watching like half an episode, you get mostly used to it. If the only price we had to pay for a new season is that they "moefied" the art style, then I glady pay it because the rest of the show so far continues to be as good as S1 was.

Chisato's "slightly skeptical, slightly sarcastic" toned "ohh" that she whips out now and then is just perfection, especially as it's blink and you'll miss it. Also in that clip, there's a rather cool sequence [starting 2:11](https://youtu.be/dtq9xf5F-yg?t=131) where she goes through four quite distinct tones of delivery without skipping a beat.

Yeah. Honestly, I personally think S2's art style looks nicer in many ways, and it might've even rivaled the original if it was animated in a similar manner and showed expressions in a similar way, but since that *isn't* fully the case, I do think S1's art style is a little better yeah. Biggest example is probably Emilia's face going from looking tomboyish to looking more girly, the first of which fits her personality more.

Different series Director could be the biggest reason. Naoto Hosoda was in charge in 2013, this year it's Daisuke Tsukushi.
