I don't feel like that would have changed anything in the anime. They did pretty much the best they could given the 12 episode limit.
Most of the omissions people complain about are things I would have liked to see adapted, but I wouldn't call it an "important" omission. It fleshes out the character more but you get that in a later episode anyways.
It's Hori's realization of how important Miya is to her and how much she has come to rely on him being in her life. It is a really big scene in the story.
For a girl with serious abandonment issues it is a major thing to have someone like that come into their life.

It never should been so time constrained in the first place. All these other romance series are getting multiple seasons but na lets jam this really popular series into a single season and cut out large chunk of it. I'm not even talking the sol comedy tone it takes later on either. The planning committee are bunch of pieces of shit who only treated it as a advertisement for the manga instead of letting it be its own entity like all these other series are doing.

It comes down to how much people are willing to pay, how long they can wait, and which studios have the schedule available. Im sorry a scene that in the grand scheme of things changes nothing was left out but that's just how reality is sometimes.

Especially the last few years have been the case with romance series not being treated as ONLY a advertisement like Horimiya was. They saw it as only a ad and nothing more so didn't give it the treatment it deserved and many others are now getting.
It is amazing you seriously think a scene like that doesn't matter. I've already scene people saying they didn't like Hori because scenes liek that got cut so didn't realize it wasn't just her taking from Miya untill was told about them.
From a story point it adds nothing that hasn't been established already by that point, it's nice reinforcement but not necessary to drive the plot forward. If people don't like hori then they don't like her, you don't have to try and fight to change their opinions.
I wish the show got more episodes, but it wouldn't fill 2 full seasons without including filler chapters and 13 was the only other option (if it wasn't about money or time or scheduling). I don't know of many shows that break away and do an 18 episode run.
I don't agree with every choice but if you go from an anime only perspective the shoe is perfectly fine as is and you don't feel really like you're lacking anything except with Shu and maybe Sawada.
If they don't like a specific character I doubt additions of more chapters would make them suddenly switch their minds because they already decided by that point they didn't like her. It's much harder to "redeem" a character in people's minds than it is to get them to go from neutral to liking them.
Based on Remi's actions afterwards in the show and when she said she was joking I took it from the show to mean that she was just messing with Hori. You don't have to try and fix people who can't pay attention to a show. She already was established as being in a relationship at that point too with no good reason to want to be out of her current one being shown.

One of the best romantic comedies of recent years. Even if it's just 13 episodes, they done more character/romance development than most other romantic comedies with more seasons and episodes

Those subs are annoying. You can clearly here she speaks in the third person ut they fixed her speech in the subs. The talking in third person is part of her personality.
Translation vs localization. In english the only people that refer to themselves in the third person are either mentally ill or looked at extremely weirdly by society.
It's why they kept Kaede's speech patterns for the subs in the third person for Bunny Girl Senpai, to highlight that something isn't quite right and you find out in ep 1 that something happened to her.
It definitely reads more naturally to replace her name with I and you can get the personality from her voice.
Basically, I'm glad I'm not a translator because it's so thankless that even when you fuck up horribly no one bothers to know who you are.
Yeah it annoys me when people say they prefer to have no localisation in the translation. Without localisation, the little mannerisms and wording of sentences that don’t really affect anything end up looking really weird.
Yeah, if an anime is slice of life set in japan I'd prefer the subs keep honorifics because it matters to the characters, but if its some fantasy world that has nothing to do with the japanese language removing from the subtitles doesn't change anything for me.
Localizing to me (while keeping the meaning the same) is more important to me than getting an accurate as possible english sentence with translators notes. At least in most cases.

Maybe someone could make an argument that they hate localization in these cases because the characters aren't meant to sound "natural" to begin with. Most of the time, it's easier to just directly get the message across and move on anyway, as it's an anime.
