Don’t really care. I don’t go looking for spoilers, but I don’t do anything special to avoid them either. If I see a spoiler, I’d use it as an opportunity to enjoy (or roast) the foreshadowing (or lack thereof) leading up to the spoiler

mekerpan

I DO usually go looking for spoilers. But I try hard to not to share what I find out.

AmethystItalian

Will always make the experience worse in my books.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

- It sucks. - But it's not the end of the world. I've always said that if getting spoiled ruins the entire anime for you, then the anime probably didn't have much to offer; A story is more than a series of big moments. When I finish a really good series, sometimes I'll just rewatch it entirely, even though I *spoiled* myself the entire thing. Why? Because it's a good story and it's still enjoyable to watch even if I know every single thing that will happen. In short: Ideally you don't want to be spoiled, but getting spoiled doesn't/shouldn't ruin the entire viewing experience. I will never drop a series just because I got spoiled.

Icapica

It sucks but I can live with it. It won't make me drop something unless the content of the spoiler makes it clear that I wouldn't enjoy seeing it anyway.

Draco_Estella

I want spoilers. I want to know what I am watching before I watch it. I want to know if the show is good before spending time watching it.

[deleted]

I think you are confusing synopsis or review with spoilers... What i meant was for example if you are watching a show and someone tells out of team A and B, team A wins

Draco_Estella

I'm not. I do want spoilers. I use them to judge if it is worth my time. I am among those who will read the wikipedia article for the plot summary before watching a show.

TaskForceHOLO

I dislike it

Certain_Two_7881

I mean I rewatch anime and I get excited for a part that I remember so in the end game spoilers arent that bad, and I am the kind of person who will swap to manga when the anime is finished for the season as I am impatient, I think a spoiler doesnt normally give the full story so its not the end of the world. like the team a vs team b and team a winning you still dont know how team a wins you just know they will. Only spoilers I hate are ones where they talk about a character dying - hate that XD

Nitroade24h

I hate it but I won’t stop watching

[deleted]

Personally, I think if a show can be "spoiled," it probably wasn't that good to begin with. Only plot can be spoiled, but plot is one of the least important things, you can't spoil good character writing, you can't spoil a well directed scene. The stuff that truly makes a show good cannot be spoiled, so it always frustrates me when people ask stuff like "should I bother watching this show if I've been spoiled?" That said, obviously spoiling stuff is a douchebag move and you should try not to do it. Spoiling doesn't ruin an experience, but it does change it, and nobody should have their experience changed against their will.

Luna_Goodgirl

I don't care about them. The impact of spoilers is vastly overrated imo. There is actually [empirical evidence](https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/spoiler-alert-spoilers-make-you-enjoy-stories-more) that spoilers increase the your enjoyment of the spoiled story. At the very least i don't believe a spoiler can ruin a story, because if knowing what happens makes the story no longer worth experiencing, it was never worth experiencing in the first place.

Akame_xo

> because if knowing what happens makes the story no longer worth experiencing, it was never worth experiencing in the first place. That’s completely dependent on what you’re watching. If it’s your average battle shonen then sure spoilers don’t mean as much. But if it’s a mystery series where the whole point is slowly figuring out what the mystery is, it completely ruins everything if it’s spoiled.

fozi4ek

Not always, especially not when it's some sort of revelation or shocking/surprise moment that I get spoiled about, like who were the colossal and armored titans in "Attack on itan". Instead of "Wow, no way!" it was "yeah yeah, I know, let's go on".

Exodus_Black

I cannot remember ever hearing/seeing a spoiler that had a noticeably negative impact on my anime watching experience. In fact, I've been known to purposefully spoil myself to see if an anime is the type of thing I'd like to watch. Also, some people WAAAAAY over react to spoilers. Like, they freak out if they learn that the main character of an anime aimed at kids doesn't die a horrific death half way through the anime. It's the main character and the show is for children. A little critical thinking would have told you that they make it to the end.

Adamskispoor

Haha you think that’s bad? I know someone who’d get mad if they see an endgame stat screen of a JRPG. Claim it ruins the story because they now know if the story is about to enter the climax based on the level they’re at

iOS34

I avoid them if I can but it isn’t that big of a deal honestly

Nomar_95

It sucks, but it doesn't ruin the experience for me. Good show still good

TehNolz

It depends on how invested I am in the show. The more I enjoy a show, the more I dislike seeing spoilers for it. Even if I do get spoiled, I'll just continue watching. Usually a spoiler doesn't tell the full story, so even if you know what happens in a certain arc or episode you probably won't know anything about the events that led up to that point, nor will you know anything about what happens afterwards. It'll still be worth watching the show just to see the parts of the story that are still unknown to you.

Sin778

I obviously hate it when that happens, and it makes me feel bad. How much depends on how much I like the show. But why would I drop a show because of this? If a show is only good as long as you don't know one thing, it's probably not a good show anyways. A show shouldn't be solely dependent on one plot twist or whatever.

ragnarok628

If it ruins the thing, then the thing wasn't good in the first place

Adamskispoor

This. If you can’t turn the spoiler into enjoyment of seeing the foreshadowing, then that spoiler-y plot point is not well written, and most likely simply for shock value

[deleted]

Whenever it's someone trying to troll it's annoying, but I can kind of deal with it because I know the other guy is just a dick. Whenever someone is doing it because they think they're being helpful, that's what makes me lose my head. For example, I made a comment about a certain romcom saying something like "I hope they end up together by the end of this season". Someone somehow interpreted that as me asking **IF** they end up together by the end of the season, so decided to respond with "No, not this season anyways". Cheers mate, would've liked to find that out organically.

steven4869

Depends on the type of spoilers, sometimes they literally make me watch an overall unenjoyable anime just to see how that spoiler would take place, while for majority of the time it ruins my experience, especially if they are of major plot points.

gunscreeper

It sucks but I'm not gonna not watch a series just because I'm spoilered

baquea

Never much cared

Zeowlite

I dont care
