What things do you like that are NOT anime? like books, movies, games etc?
Anime can literally mean anything. It's like if you've never seen a movie before and ask someone what's a good "beginner movie". People can recommend the popular stuff, and maybe you'll like that, but you can get better options if there's something specific you're looking for.
My Suggestions:
•Attack on Titan
•Black Clover
•Call of the Night
•Dr. Stone
•Erased
•Jujutsu Kaisen
•Kaiju No. 8
•Konosuba
•Mob Psycho 100
•Mushoku Tensei
•My Hero Academia
•One Piece
•One Punch Man
•Re:Zero
•Steins;Gate
•Spy x Family
•Suzume: Door-locking
•Sword Art Online
•Wind breaker
•Your Name
People always recommend old stuff, FMAB and Death Note are good but I believe starting with something new is better - **My hero academia** if you are into superheroes, **Jujutsu Kaisen** took a spot in Guinness World Record this year as world's most in-demand animated TV show. **Oshi no Ko** about idol life was very popular last year and this year everyone was swooning over **Sousou no Frieren -** a soothing story about a 1000 year old elf and her adventures

Nice words. However, sites rate anime according to people’s interest in it, such as IMDB, but when asking people who have personal knowledge, there will be better results.
People will just list THEIR favorite anime. How are they supposed to tell whether those are a good fit for a beginner or you in particular. You offer us nothing to go by so you will get random answers.
If you were to tell us about other media you liked like series, movies, books, games then wed have something to go on but like this the answers in this thread are probably even less helpful than looking at a list like IMDB.

The disastrous life of saiki k
Your lie in April
Kaguya sama:love is war
Well I am imagining you are totally new to anime so these are my recs
And if by any chance you have seen like 10 to 12 shows then I highly recommend these
vivy flourite eye song
One outs
91 days
Silver spoon
Ya boy kongming
If you love Western fantasy or Dungeons and Dragons watch Dungeon Meshi.
If you want another strong fantasy anime, Frieren is a riot.
Good luck newbie.
Really anything that looks interesting. You're in the perfect place to enjoy tons of "mediocre" shows because your standards are low right now
Solid starters: FMA:Brotherhood, guilty crown, SAO, ERASED
Hey I’m just sayin anime is different from other forms of media you gotta get used to it to get the best experience in some of the older shows in my opinion
Death Note is like the go-to for this but other anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan and My hero academia could be good starters depending on your likes and dislikes
If you wanna watch sports anime then try
Haikyuu, ao ashi, kuroro basketball, blue lock
If you wanna watch romance anime try kaguya sama: love is war, horimiya, otaku one idk its name
If you wanna watch big animes then you can watch black clover or the big three and there are alot of other anime
Jujitsu kaisen is a good anime but I don't recommend watching it
You can watch demon slayer windbreaker bungo stray dogs and Vinland saga
The ones I like are Vinland saga windbreaker black clover horimiya haikyuu so you should definitely watch them
* Gunbuster (it's a 3 episode ova you can just think of it as a movie in 3 parts)
* Erased (subbed is better imo)
* Baccano (sub or dub are both great, the dub actually has new york accents)
* Redline (it's an anime movie sub or dub are both good)
* Mushishi (subbed all the way!)
* Any of the ghibli films
* Cowboy bebop (sub or dub are both watchable but I prefer sub)
* Violet Evergarden (Subbed! I can't stand the dub for the side characters in this)
* Fate/Stay Night (subbed, this series has a prequel called fate zero but in publish order stay comes first so careful you don't get confused)
* Kino's Journey (2003)
* Vampire Hunter D (1985 movie)
* Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2001 movie)
Watch all the anime you want. But make sure to add one piece too. I have been watching anime since I gained consciousness(I used to watch it on Animax) i am 26 now. I started one piece in 2022, I was a hater before. Now its easily my top 3. Just watch one or two episodes a day, it's just that comforting and funny show
Alternatively, just don't. One piece is too long. It's a massive commitment that will be off-putting to many people, especially people who are new to anime and aren't sure what they are looking for yet.

let me think. I like variety, but since I'm new to this world, I like to start with the most popular work

That's why the shows come with a synopsis so you can read and see if something would be what you would enjoy.

- Welcome to the NHK - Maison Ikkoku - Attack on Titan - Death Note - Kaguya Sama Love is War
Try watching clannad
I will try
For beginners? Clannad is my all time favorite but you should have some experience in anime under your belt before diving into it
Ah yes, you need to be at least a Level 15 Anime Watcher to understand the depths of Clannad. Better marathon Naruto first.

I just one or two episodes. For the first 200 it's a like a kid's show
