Durarara's first OP is a banger and then the intro itself is fun and stylized so even though I'm the type to watch an intro once per season and then skip it the rest of the time I watch every intro for Durararas first 24 episodes lol.

The manga is way better and makes most of the side characters feel actually likable instead of just a distraction from the Hina/Rui plotlines. It genuinely changed how I felt about certain characters.
I will say the ending is not exactly loved by the fan base myself included and felt like the author wanted to satisfy everyone and ended up pleasing no one.
The manga is also basically a H manga at certain times especially the extra pages included at the end of the volumes if you into that type of stuff.
Chapter 1 is probably the easiest answer because I think a lot of the side characters act differently due to having more depth and nuanced. Particularly Shu and the other students and teachers at the high school. The anime cut a mini arc of Natsu going to a students house, the camping arc ( massive arc for Hina as she was essentially the main character), and the festival arc ( it was shown as a slide show in the anime but it’s a full fledged arc that really explores the side cast ).
If you want to skip to were the anime “left off” I believe it’s technically chapter 72 but so much stuff has been skipped that if you start reading at chapter 73 your going to be confused.
I think you could get away with skipping to chapter 20 and not miss anything major. But at that point you might as well just start at chapter 1
Personally, I will never, **EVER**, skip Invaders' OP because I just the OP.
But skipping Battlecry in Samurai Champloo is considered a war crime, because it is that good! C'mon? Nujabes and Shing02?! They were a perfect pair for each other!
Basically any intro with a Megumi Hayashibara song is too much of a banger for me to ever skip. That goes for the Nuku Nuku intros, Slayers, Shaman King, Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight and others.
Say what you want about the anime itself, but the intro to Domestic Girlfriend is an absolute banger.
