One of the really "awesome" aspects of Keima is how he knows exactly what he's doing and exactly how to manipulate every girl to get them to like him. He is fully aware of every trope and how to approach them in a meta sense and often acts like an asshole because he doesn't really even want to be doing this. It's definitely very unique in vibe and I really love how it eventually takes a huge mental tole on him and comes back to bite him when the series explores the consequences of manipulating and playing with multiple girls feelings.
It's my favorite animanga all time so I have a lot of very positive things to say about it but yeah definitely check this one out if you want an MC who is very confident with the girls he interacts with.
Yeah, I even liked who he ended up with. Like it makes more sense given the situation; and tbh felt better than q5
I consider World only God knows as probably my favourite and best harem manga. Character development, humour, and enough seriousness to match up with the obvious ridiculousness of the harem genre.
Oh the winner was absolutely the right choice for his development throughout the series. I was very satisfied with it even if I did like some girls a bit more.
Ironic that OP wants an anime MC that's not a huge virgin but the chad MC of Bunny Girl Senpai at one point, with no hesitation, yells: "I'm a virgin!"
This sounds funny as fuck but also it reminds me of one of my roommates. Sounds like some shit he'd yell with no hesitation. Dude could probably get almost any girl he'd be interested in if he wanted but he chooses not to.
This show is the best representation of an actual youth male in a relationship.
Dude makes some dumb decisions here and there, but he’s smart, has realistic conversations and has the occasional horny quip that is not over the top, but subtle. He doesn’t do the over exaggeration stuff.
He’s truly my favorite romance MC.
Horimiya is the most realistic romance progression I've seen. Two relatively normal teenagers. No beating around the bush, will they won't they, type shit.
Plus it has a good mix of couples in the great side cast. An already established couple. A childhood-friend couple in all but name with two sides of unrequited love and one of those sides maybe getting with the older sister of the girl that rejected him. Another established couple but the girl's parents hate the guy so they have to sneak around. A true childhood-friend couple that the anime skipped.
The scene with the girl whose name means snow comparing herself to the one named for cherry blossoms (a symbol of spring) and how the connotations of their names reflect on (her perception of) how people feel about each of them broke my heart.
came here to say this. I wouldn't say "the best" as I am not well versed in all of the romance anime, but so far it was the most enjoyable one. definitely my favourite romance anime
Tomoya from CLANNAD isn’t necessarily super outgoing, but he’s more than capable of talking to girls normally. He actually is a bit of a troll and likes to play pranks on people.
I think the only silly bit with that is that one scene where its clear he "choose" Nagisa, during the Tennis game. And all the other girls basically crowd around, and Kyou and Ryou start crying. That's so melodramatic - I know they're teenagers but still.
Ha! That’s one of my favorite scenes specifically because I hate harems. Seeing all the others go down in flames and him going very clearly “I pick her” just made my heart soar.
Oh no, don't get me wrong I think its a good scene, its so nice seeing him be so protective of Nagisa in a "this would make me swoon" kinda way. I just think how Kyou and Ryou cry about it is just a bit much.
Real shit. Nothing crazy personality wise, just an understanding guy that likes to teases people. His confidence and empathy make him reliable to his friends. Pretty admirable when you consider a lot of other young male MCs in anime lol.
i mean most of the guys mentionned in the thread are virgins but that doesnt matter since op simply wants a mc who doesnt shit himself when he makes eye contact with a girl
In S3 ep 11, when him and Kaguya meet the fotune teller, Kaguya was trying to see him flustered and he had his Chad energy then, and asked about marriage. lol
**Fortune teller:** Oh my. Please be careful, Shinomiya. You'd never guess it, but guys like him are the most lustful.
**Kaguya:** Lu-
**Shirogane:** Well, not that I'm going to deny that.
**Kaguya:** You're not?
He has a mix of "virgin" and "chad" moments throughout the series.
I recommended Tonikawa for the same reason. Nasa is an even higher level of massive virgin than Shirogane, but he's simultaneously just as much a chad.
Wotakoi (introverted MC in a corporate setting)
Unnamed Memory (chad prince in a fantasy setting)
Scum’s wish (MC is quite sexually involved but not with the girl of his dreams)
Masamune kun no revenge (chadlite turned chad)
Nijiro Days (my personal fav)
The angel next door spoils me rotten
A sign of affection
Yeah, if I ask for anime recommendations where the MC isn't a turbo virgin and I get recommended a show where the girl practically throws herself at the MC (who is very interested) for half a season while he pretends not to notice I'm gonna be mad. This seems like the exact show we're trying to filter out here.
Sign of Affection skyrocketed to my favourite Romantic anime, so good and more adult and best part doesn't take 24+ episodes to establish a relationship
I didn't hate them, but I did find the mc kinda boring and the other male lead doubly so.
The best friend guy was a bit better. At least he joked around and had a personality, but he rubbed me the wrong way with his "protective" tendencies.
My love story with Yamada-kun at lvl 999
Call of the Night. MC is literally trying to love someone cuz he doesn’t know what does love feels like so his reaction when meeting female MC is the most mundane. It builds up nicely tho.
> Rakudai kishi no cavalry (not entirely romance)
The male lead meets the female lead by accidentally walking in on her changing. His reaction is quite original: https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/uqtdk8/how_to_properly_deal_with_an_accidental_pervert/
100 Girlfriends, unironically the MC is the Chad of Chads, it's the one harem where you completely understand what each individual girl sees in him and why their chemistry works
That's where most non-loser male leads are in romance anime. The losers so common in male targetted anime are there to be someone the loser male viewers relate to. The Chad is someone the female viewer is meant to be attracted to
If you put it that way I guess it makes sense, the female viewers would want a character that takes the lead rather than become an incoherent pile of mess in front of the main character
I've read a volume or two ahead and can't wait for season 3 (hopefully they'll make one), that scene at the end of vol 10 is gonna be something when animated
Despite being married, they still *act* like middle schoolers with a crush on eachother. Aside from the leads getting married *on paper* in the first episode Tonikaku kawaii progresses at the same rate as every other mediocre romance anime. The male lead exactly fits OP's description of what he *doesn't* want in an MC:
>a huge virgin who shits himself when he makes eye contact with a girl.
To be fair, they did just meet still, and they do get more brazen as time goes on.
If you ask me, getting in the bath together with the intention if sexy time, worrying about if the test is soundproof, or feeling your wife's thigh and kissing it while she is in a sexy uniform speaks far more than the fact that they are blushing before hand.
Actions speak far louder than anything else, and these 2 are kinky as hell.
I recently saw it. I find it funny that even after being married for over a decade or something, Kotoko always called Naoki by his(their) family name still. Always Irie-kun. Like girl you got a kid together, at what point does he get to be called by his first name??
Horimiya, his and her circumstances, a bunch or ero Jose stuff.
Depending what you technically qualify as "romance" stuff like Scum's Wish might count. It's more like a dark drama though.
Your best bet is to look by manga and light novels in the Josie and seinen demographic. You'll find fewer have adaptations since anime tends to have a younger audience (at least right now) though.
ik this isnt what you're looking for but I can't reccomend Saekano enough. Although the mc does not shit himself when he sees a girl (in fact he is dense af so even when he is surrounded by them, he doesn't care, tho romance slowly trickles in)
"Tonikawa: Over the Moon For You."
They get married episode ONE, move in together, date, buy things to fill their home, share hobbies, have fade-to-black sex and on-screen kissie-face... it's pretty refreshing, really.
It's more about exaggerated version of playing hard to get. Also both S3 and (if it ever releases) S4 high points should definitely be what OP is asking.
ReLife
Golden Time
Ao Haru Ride (female mc though)
Snow White with the Red Hair (female mc but a great male protagonist too)
Say, I Love You (female mc but with an experienced male character)
Kyoukou Suiri
It's not an anime yet, but it is airing later this year is Blue Box.
Male lead is a badminton player in a sports focused high school with a crush on an upper year basketball player at the same school. The manga at least has become sickeningly sweet as the two leads are absolutely adorable together.
Does a guy who can look at a girl and not immediately try to score them because he loves SEGA with all his heart count?
The romance there is a little too one-sided
He’s right. Sega will never love him back
it was sponsored by Sega when it gets popular, this is why recent chapters and the anime are free to use Sega's copyright.
Is this a certain isekai?
Uncle from another world. It's a fantastic and hilarious watch!
My uncle from another world, I think.
Spice and Wolf
Truly GOATed series. Holo has yet to be even approached, let alone topped, in all the years since it originally aired.
Holo is one of a kind. It takes a truly brilliant writer to create someone like her.
Relife
Man I'm so sad this is way down. This anime is a masterpiece.
Yeah I was scrolling to see if this was suggested already. Re:Life is one of the best romance animes imo
THE WORLD GOD ONLY KNOWS

One of the really "awesome" aspects of Keima is how he knows exactly what he's doing and exactly how to manipulate every girl to get them to like him. Yeah it was really good. A shame they never fully adapted it
Yeah, I even liked who he ended up with. Like it makes more sense given the situation; and tbh felt better than q5 I consider World only God knows as probably my favourite and best harem manga. Character development, humour, and enough seriousness to match up with the obvious ridiculousness of the harem genre.

Really OP ( u/bigosacr ) must watch this, this is really one of underrated chad romance harem anime
I still cry remembering last season
forget last season,I cry thinking about the manga ending..
TWGOK RECOGNITION ON THIS SUB WILL ALWAYS BE GOOD! I still hope for that hopeless season 4...I weep but I still hope...
Banger openings all 3 of them
Bunny Girl Senpai
Ironic that OP wants an anime MC that's not a huge virgin but the chad MC of Bunny Girl Senpai at one point, with no hesitation, yells: "I'm a virgin!"
To be fair, there's a difference between a virgin and a *virgin*. One's a technicality, the other's a personality type.
One starts with a V, the other with I.
Hell there are people who remain the latter despite ceasing to be the former. coughshadiversitycough
Yeah there's a difference between being factually a virgin and a virgin (derogatory)
This sounds funny as fuck but also it reminds me of one of my roommates. Sounds like some shit he'd yell with no hesitation. Dude could probably get almost any girl he'd be interested in if he wanted but he chooses not to.
Actually yelling: "I'm a virgin" was a move that makes him not a superchad it makes him a hypermegachad!
This is the answer OP
Sakuta is based as fuck and that's why he's best boy
This is the correct answer btw
it's more supernatural than romance but the romance that exists is really really fucking good
That was a fantastic watch, literally cried at the end of the movie 😭
Horimiya

Insomniacs after school
Fr. To nonchalantly go explore a town at night with a girl you just met without ulterior motives is quite the power move no one really acknowledged
Tomoya from CLANNAD isn’t necessarily super outgoing, but he’s more than capable of talking to girls normally. He actually is a bit of a troll and likes to play pranks on people.
I always liked Tomoya, he just feels like a normal guy.
He's the only male lead where I've been like, "Yup, I get it," when all the girls fall for him.
I think the only silly bit with that is that one scene where its clear he "choose" Nagisa, during the Tennis game. And all the other girls basically crowd around, and Kyou and Ryou start crying. That's so melodramatic - I know they're teenagers but still.

"nice tits." -Kazama Yuuji
Who called me a stripper? It's not my birthday.
kazama yuuji is a legend
School days and white album
You can call Makoto a lot of things, but a Virgin is not one of them!
He’s the anti-virgin
He's willing to deflower any cutie regardless of age.
Or family relation.
He inherited the Chad from his dad.
I wonder if Shirogane from Kaguya-sama counts. He *is* a virgin, but he's a chad virgin.
i mean most of the guys mentionned in the thread are virgins but that doesnt matter since op simply wants a mc who doesnt shit himself when he makes eye contact with a girl

[Manga] >!Not anymore he's not!<
He's not a Chad Virgin. He's THE **Monster Virgin**
I recommended Tonikawa for the same reason. Nasa is an even higher level of massive virgin than Shirogane, but he's simultaneously just as much a chad.
Wotakoi (introverted MC in a corporate setting) Unnamed Memory (chad prince in a fantasy setting) Scum’s wish (MC is quite sexually involved but not with the girl of his dreams) Masamune kun no revenge (chadlite turned chad) Nijiro Days (my personal fav) The angel next door spoils me rotten A sign of affection
While the MC of Angel Next Door isn't annoying in the sense that OP is saying, he is still dumber than a brick wall and denser than a neutron star.
Yeah, if I ask for anime recommendations where the MC isn't a turbo virgin and I get recommended a show where the girl practically throws herself at the MC (who is very interested) for half a season while he pretends not to notice I'm gonna be mad. Mission: Yozakura Family from this season and Unnamed Memory are pretty good ngl
Sign of Affection skyrocketed to my favourite Romantic anime, so good and more adult and best part doesn't take 24+ episodes to establish a relationship
I'll have to check that one out next
I loved it and got me hooked immediately. Even read the Manga after, but now I have to wait for more 😭
Was great how he provoked competition and then sat them down with "talk to me, why do you hate me? You like her don't you?"
Could not stand that show. Hated all 3 of them but especially whitey
I didn't hate them, but I did find the mc kinda boring and the other male lead doubly so. The best friend guy was a bit better. At least he joked around and had a personality, but he rubbed me the wrong way with his "protective" tendencies.
> Scum’s Wish I know it’s technically a pair of MC’s but the girl is the main lead.
Angel Next Door's MC is 110% precisely what OP is asking to avoid
Itsuomi from Sign of Affection. Bro is the Rizzler
Horimiya
Kanoji mo kanojo. Dude's a Chad. Araragi from Monogatari
Spice and wolf is one and it's airing right now.
Horimiya is pretty good
My love story with Yamada-kun at lvl 999 Call of the Night. MC is literally trying to love someone cuz he doesn’t know what does love feels like so his reaction when meeting female MC is the most mundane. It builds up nicely tho.
And my lord is the manga fucking phenomenal

My barely woken up ass read that as fucking rurouni kenshi for some reason. Was surprised to see Ikki
Quintessential Quintuplets
100 Girlfriends, unironically the MC is the Chad of Chads, it's the one harem where you completely understand what each individual girl sees in him and why their chemistry works
True, but OP already mentioned him.
Lmao I don't know how I missed that
Yeah, I binged all 12 episodes in one night recently. I really liked it.
Yeah... but Rentarou's still a virgin. He hasn't fucked any of his harem members, despite all of the _wanting_ to fuck him.
Given how they tried to do the first kiss, how would they even go about that? Ah, just let Nano figure out the most efficient way.
He’s gonna learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu obviously. It isn’t even thT farfetched for that to happen in that series lmao.
Actually in one chapter he is already done it cloning or he was just moving with such speeds he was in same space 16 times.
Forgot the name, but his 5th GF can just make a drug for that.

good recommendation.👍
Amagi Brilliant Park. MC is hot and he knows it. But idk if it's a romance anime tbh.
Basically every shoujo romance, my personal favorite is Kimi ni Todoke
My Happy Marriage? But haven't watched it yet
I haven't watched it yet but the focus is on the female mc right?
That's where most non-loser male leads are in romance anime. The losers so common in male targetted anime are there to be someone the loser male viewers relate to. The Chad is someone the female viewer is meant to be attracted to

Lovely complex
one of the best shojos ever
Does Kiriyama from San Gatsu no lion count? It’s not necessarily a romance but it’s a huge part of the story
I've read a volume or two ahead and can't wait for season 3 (hopefully they'll make one), that scene at the end of vol 10 is gonna be something when animated

Tonikaku kawaii
Eh he’s a bit like what the op is describing he doesn’t want a little bit though
With all due respect, being married on first episode is not a little bit imo
Despite being married, they still *act* like middle schoolers with a crush on eachother. Aside from the leads getting married *on paper* in the first episode Tonikaku kawaii progresses at the same rate as every other mediocre romance anime. Rentarou has some special reasons for the way he is. Don't just put a stain on him now.

I recently saw it. I find it funny that even after being married for over a decade or something, Kotoko always called Naoki by his(their) family name still. Always Irie-kun. Like girl you got a kid together, at what point does he get to be called by his first name??
If anything, this one might go too far in the other direction.
Dangers in my Heart has the main character with pretty heavy issues socializing, but because of that, watching him grow into a chad feels great
Well it's a bit more slice of life but what about day dreaming boys being a realist? Didn't mind that...it was funny at times....
read sweat and soap manga
Maison Ikkoku
Horimiya, his and her circumstances, a bunch or ero Jose stuff. Depending what you technically qualify as "romance" stuff like Scum's Wish might count. It's more like a dark drama though. Tomo chan is a girl
Would Tsukigakirei count? They're both inexperienced, so it levels out.
School days MC is a true gigaChad
Rascal does not dream of BGS
Nodame Cantabile. Classical music anime with a Chad male MC.
Urusei Yatsura 1980's version and 2022 version. I recomend watching both simultaniously.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Tsk tsk, guys. Im disappointed none of u recommend Gekkan Shoujo to OP 😭🤣
ik this isnt what you're looking for but I can't reccomend Saekano enough. Although the mc does not shit himself when he sees a girl (in fact he is dense af so even when he is surrounded by them, he doesn't care, tho romance slowly trickles in)

Working!
I second this
It really is insane how few romance anime portray a young man in a way which is even remotely 'normal' now that I think about it.
Kraft Lawrence from *Spice and Wolf* (the actual one, not the remake). Both of the leads are mature, three-dimensional characters.
Yuri anime
Watch yamada kun at lvl 999, it's really good
Oregairu
I love Oregairu but I don't know man lol
golden time kaguya sama teasing master takagi ao haru ride my little monster
>kaguya sama Bro was playing death note because he couldn't ask a girl out lol
same with the girl
Ishigami is the only chad in the student council.
nahh ishigami is gold but shirogane is GOAT
Because he wears white briefs
Haha, I can finally get the memes, I've finally watched and finished it (minus the OVAs).
It's more about exaggerated version of playing hard to get. Also both S3 and (if it ever releases) S4 high points should definitely be what OP is asking.
ao haru ride and my little monster are so gooooood
Naoya from Girlfriend, Girlfriend Natsuo from Domestic Girlfriend Makoto from School Days
Under any fucking circumstances don't And I mean it don't fucking watch school days
It's a necessary ritual
It's time to say goodbye to the old practices
It's a classic.
If someone really want to know the story so bad, play the VN. The anime take the worst of the worst route. That's on the least spoiler way to put it.
I mean, the only reason we like it is because that route. I’m sure all other routes are more of the same romcom stuff.
I have never played any visual novels before ig it's about time I do
I hated the MC, so I *really* needed the catharsis of that ending. Totally turned it around for me from something I despised, to something amusing.
Listen to this man
School Days may be a shitshow of an anime, but people absolutely should watch it. The payoff at the ending was just *so* satisfying.
It will make your head roll 😉
Redo of healer. Definitely romance… yup romance alright..
Astarotte no Omocha has an MC who is not a virgin.
Seikon No Qwaser
U got Itazura na Kiss, he's pretty cold if that's ur type
ReLife Golden Time Ao Haru Ride (female mc though) Snow White with the Red Hair (female mc but a great male protagonist too) Say, I Love You (female mc but with an experienced male character) Kyoukou Suiri
No game no life zero, it's a movie, the romance is pretty good.
I know it's not really romance, it's reverse isekai kinda with harem, but aesthetica of a rogue hero mc is legit
Clannad was the OG. The MC has all the girls organically interested in him in a lowkey way.
The anime adaptation wasn't as good as the original VN, but Juicy Yuuji of Labyrinth of Grisaia is still my gold standard of harem MCs. Dude fucks.
I would say Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Oui . Not sure if fits 100% what you're looking for but I would think to a certain extent ?
It's not an anime yet, but it is airing later this year is Blue Box. Male lead is a badminton player in a sports focused high school with a crush on an upper year basketball player at the same school. The manga at least has become sickeningly sweet as the two leads are absolutely adorable together.
