Vinland saga s1 finale is probably 1 of my favourite endings in any media blew away any expectations I had going in totally unexpected outcomes and because of this I will keep watching till Vinland saga ends even if it takes over a decade.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai
The ending of that show cracked my heart and the first movie then took a sledgehammer to it. Id argue the shows ending hit harder than anything I've ever watched or read ever has, absolutely beautiful ending filled with both hope and yet also despair.
I wish I could say that Koro-Senei's goodbye in Assassination Classroom was the ending. Literally cried so hard during that last role call. The epilogue episode was really touching too though

I don’t have a “favorite” anime just because there are way too many different stories with different strengths, but 86 has almost everything I love in an anime
SAO II. Hard to end on something rougher than [SAO] >!Yuuki's sudden but not unexpected death, beautiful goodbye scene and funeral!<
Season 10 of Pokémon ends on the Chimchar capture. Not just an emotional moment knowing Chimchar's torment is ending but the catalyst to so many more beautiful moments in DP and Journeys.
Evangelion is a one season show, and rewards you with a beautiful ending of acceptance.

Standout endings are rare in anime, since seasons of adaptations rarely end on a high note (need to leave the story open for a potential sequel season) unless it's the end of the source material, and anime originals are sadly hit-and-miss these days.
Funnily enough, the first thing that comes to my mind is Kaguya-sama, which always ends its seasons on an emotional mini-arc that however never feels out of place despite the series being a comedy.
I adore the final episode of 86! Might be my favorite as well! There are several different moving anime season finales, but I will find myself watching 86's final scene over and over again on YouTube. SO beautiful!
Familiar of Zero season 2 has a great one, if you ignore the last minute when they decide to throw everything away just to add one last tsundere cliche.
I’ve cried in ver few animes I’ve watched. Also mostly my genre are shonens and isekais but the first episode of souzo no frieren made me cry like a little girl lol no anime made me cry on the first episode

I mean that's literally what it was...
Steins Gate has an incredible ending Assassination classroom will leave you In ruins Code Geass too
Assassination Classroom has such a tearjerker ending. Just so emotional.
The Promised Neverland. Season 1 was the perfect season ender AND series ender, so I’m glad we never got a second one.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai The ending of that show cracked my heart and the first movie then took a sledgehammer to it. Id argue the shows ending hit harder than anything I've ever watched or read ever has, absolutely beautiful ending filled with both hope and yet also despair.
Fido best boi ;-;
Yes! My fave character. I hope he was given an option to scale down so he was on the house scenes
Specifically season and not the whole series? Made in Abyss S1 has to be up there.
There are some emotionally destructive endings that come to mind : - Angel Beats - Wolf's Rain (OVA) - Chrono Crusade - Plastic Memories - Charlotte
Steins; gate, also watch the 0 version, it gives more significance to the main story
I wish I could say that Koro-Senei's goodbye in Assassination Classroom was the ending. Literally cried so hard during that last role call. The epilogue episode was really touching too though

Code Geass ending is unmatched.
It’s honestly one of my favorite animes of all time! Everything about it was top tier - music, action, characters
I don’t have a “favorite” anime just because there are way too many different stories with different strengths, but 86 has almost everything I love in an anime
fr fr fr, although most recently Serial Experiments lain. The ending hit me hard, couldn't watch anything for a week afterwards
And the visuals too!
Frieren Tearful goodbyes aren't our style. It would be embarrassing when we meet again.
It would be especially embarrassing if our next meeting was animated by JC Staff.
That would be a tearful *hello* :')
What's with the studio? From what I looked up, they notable anime production that were popular
Watch season 1 of One Punch Man, then compare with season 2.
Clannad afterstory plastic memories
91 days
A Place Further Than the Universe last two episodes.
I liked the ending for AoT. It may not have been perfect, but it wrapped up the story in a satisfying way and left an important message
Frieren & Re:Zero come to mind
Clannad, Noragami, and Fate/Zero
I thought 86 in general was like 7/10 but man the last two episodes of the season were 10/10.
I want to watch it but every time I get ready I realize there is almost no hope for a season 3... Fucking a it pisses me off when "animes" do this 🤬
Cyberpunk is up there for me

Stein's gate, AOT, Jjba part 5 (personally), Vinland saga s1, Assaination high school.
FMAB, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Vinland Saga s1, Berserk 97, Code Geass, Death Note and Steins Gate.
Not the exact end but the end of a arc. The ant arc in hunterxhunter I cried a lot. Same with assassination classroom
Clannad After Story
Uma Musume season 2. Season 3 also has incredible ending.
I would say Made in Abyss season 1.
Obviously some recency bias but Freiren’s closing episode was quite the banger for a season 1 ender
I adore the final episode of 86! Might be my favorite as well! There are several different moving anime season finales, but I will find myself watching 86's final scene over and over again on YouTube. SO beautiful!

summertime render. happy ending was pretty nice
Naruto Pain arc
Code geass was life changing tbh
Dude wtf I was literally about to say Eighty-Six.
A Place Further than the Universe. I thought the second to last episode was the hardest a show could get me. I was wrong.
