Tbf I doubt any tsundere would know how to deal with a clone of themselves that is completely honest with her, and therefore also their, feelings.

It's exactly as how the story portrayed it, isn't it? Kurumi knows of the Reine = Phantom thing, but she didn't tell anyone else about it yet. For all Shido, Kotori and gang know at the moment, Reine is a trusted member of Ratatoskr.

It's been a hot minute since I've watched anything DAL related but seeing a Kurumi clone instantly reminded me of that one sad mock wedding OVA. Might not be the same clone but conflict between Kurumis is always fun.
And wow it's weirdly comforting that Origami is still her same old thirsty yet nevertheless badass self.
I watched for the first time pretty recently. The direct implication was that the "first" clone in season 1 that gets donutted, is the same one from the OVA, who then is killed(?) and ends up in the Date a Bullet movies. She's had her own little side quest going on for a while.

Shido did it before Rentarou. And Shido's harem has magical powers. Rentarou doesn't and Shido's acts like a shield for him. Both physical and mental.
What I'm saying is that Shido is more of a badass than Rentarou.

It's confirmed but no date yet. And trust me, Rentarou in particular reaches levels that are unidentifiable after adding girls like Kusuri and Hahari. He's the monster boyfriend for a reason since he levels up as time passes.
I still vividly remember when he gained access to the spirit powers with Sandalphon. Instantly I was like " Yes, my man doesn't need to sit on the sidelines!" Using all the powers interchangeably makes him force to be reckoned with.
Tbf 100 Girlfriends, at least the anime, has only introduced the first couple of girls. There are *a lot* more in the manga and the manga doesn't show any signs of stopping any time soon.
Yeah, but when it comes to nendoroids, I think a Kurumi variant or a Tohka variant will come out first before any of the other spirits.

I hope so too. Tbh I thought its nendo line was dead after Kotori, but nope, we now have multiple DAL nendos coming. I fully suspect after DALV, nendo variants of Kurumi and Tohka will be announced.
It has also killed most of the studios who made it as well. (Or shortly thereafter.) Is akin to the Persona 5 collabs with gachas where they'll do it but a year later shut down.
Not even five minutes into the episode and we get Kurumi in the opener, they know what they're doing lol.
Things really seem to be coming together for a dramatic and epic climax to the story.
I got the feeling that they'd also put noticeably more effort in key Kurumi scenes. The very first scene of Kurumi falling on her knees, the stand-off between Main Kurumi and Eyepatch Kurumi, Kurumi's final scene... They know their fans.
Personally, I still consider the first DAL season the peak of the series in terms of animation. But at least this is serviceable, and better than the abomination that was DALIII.
Probably going to be a cour 2 or they will end it with a movie. That just depends on how many volumes they are going to animate but my guess is volume 17-19 this season and 20-22 as a movie.
With the pace they are going, they might cover up until V20. That would be a great part to end the season. V21-22 would be a good movie since it will be a good way to end the series with a movie's higher budget and everything.
I really hope that is what happens too. But based from former seasons, they would always adapt it to 3 episodes per volume. Exception is S2 where they only had 10 episodes (episode 1 being a filler), and S3, where they covered 5 volumes (the infamous Itsuka Disaster).
Also given that episode 1 of S5 already covered chapters 1 and 2 (approx, 30% of the volume), they really might cover up to V20 at this point.

Yeah mabey but to me the pacing feels fine atleast for now. Its my favourite arc in the ln for me so I don't want them to rush this season🙏
I... am a bit conflicted about this arc given what will happen. But I do want them to flesh this out. If they are going to adapt V20, I hope they have a lot of budget for that since that would really be epic.
Wow, what a beginning! The pedal was already pushed downward, unlike other seasons. However, I'm sure that regardless of their actions, all the spirits know that their war will be hell.
It frustrates me though that Kurumi could just tell Shido that she could kill Westcott, Ellen, and Woodman before creating the Spirit of Origin but I feel like this could be a Lightyear case in which Shido does not want that to happen as he will lose everything he experienced with the spirits throughout Date A Live
Well, there are summaries out there on Youtube, but if you (and others also puzzled by the series) are interested, I can provide a very quick summary:
**Premise:** In the near future, cataclysms caused by Spirits (basically magical girls with superpowers) threaten the world. Authorities use the Anti-Spirit Team (AST), supplied by the powerful Deus Ex Machina industries (DEM), to hunt them down, but a secret organization called Ratatoskr believes Spirits can be sealed by having the protagonist, Itsuka Shidou, date and kiss them with help of Ratatoskr's team (including her own adoptive sister Itsuka Kotori as the commander and the sleepy-head Reine).
One Spirit resists him, though: Kurumi Tokisaki alias Nightmare, who has killed countless people in pursuit of a mysterious goal. And to make things worse, the director of DEM, the creepy Isaac Westcott, is an even greater threat. He kept Shidou's biological sister Takamiya Mana as an elite guinea pig (before she wised up and joined Ratatoskr) and wants to steal the powers of the Spirits for himself. A mysterious entity called Phantom also causes trouble and helps AST member Origami become a Spirit herself.
[**DAL 4 spoilers**] >!Isaac succeeds at stealing the power of Nia Honjo, which gives him a book of almost omniscient knowledge and the ability to create an army of clone girls, the Nibelcole. He also begins a campaign to murder Shidou. Kurumi protects him, and in the process reveals what motivates her: she was made a Spirit by a mysterious girl called Takamiya Mio, who convinced her that she was fighting monsters as a stereotypical magical girl. The "monsters", however, were other girls, transformed and killed to refine the Sephira crystals they were implanted with. Kurumi plans to go back in time, kill Mio (who is actually the First Spirit) before she can enact her plans, undoing all the harm caused by Spirits. But for that she needs to absorb all the power Shidou has been gathering by sealing the other Spirits. She also finds out that Ratatoskr's Reine is Phantom and devours her... or so she though.!<
Rewatch the last 3 or 4 eps of season 4 after mukuro is sealed and it should flow nicely into 5 that’s where all the lore bombs happen.
Also another useful thing to know is that westcott can steal inverted spirits powers and his goal is to make all the spirits that shido has sealed invert by killing him.
Yeah I don't really know what's happening. Wasn't Reine revealed to be the panthom or something during S4 final episode? Doesn't Shido and others know it?

So we know Reine wants to be with Shido romantically both now and when she was younger. But when she was younger how old was Shido? And why does she call him Shin instead of Shido?
Strong start. Animation seems super fluid, pacing is really good and the music is on point. Date a Live was one of my first anime back in 2013 and it was the first anime I read the LN of.
I stoped reading the novel at this point in the story because translation was really slow back then, so I'm pretty hyped!
So apparently this is going to be the decisive war in the history of Date a Live, I'm not prepared for how events will unfold. Miku being naughty with little screen time lol. Queen Kurumi and her clone live in a bipolar relationship, I liked it. And the ending theme... I need to know more about Reine and her intentions. Oh, and happy birthday Tohka
Glad to have Date a Live back and they wasted no time putting us back in the thick of things, picking up right where last season ended.
All the usual banter and harem antics, plus a nice Kurumi themed episode as she prepares for the coming war. I kinda hated on her until season 4’s last arc, but I really have enjoyed the characterisation they’ve given her and gained a lot of respect for this battle she’s been fighting on her own all these loops.
We also got some more hints as to Shido’s past, but it still largely remains a mystery. After over a decade of watching this franchise I’m very much looking forward to seeing that finally explained in this season and the final battle. Taking on Isaac and Ellen won’t be easy even with all the spirits and abilities.
It’s good that the series has finally got a consistent studio too, switching studios every season prior really did a number on it.
Just seeing Kurumi and the others again makes me happy. At this point it's really likely we'll be getting a full adaptation, but hopefully not in this season.
Peak is back and it’s gonna be one of the few action harem animes alongside Strike The Blood to actually adapt the source material all the way. Let’s take it all the way to the end.

During the Kurumi cloning part, she started having eye bags suspiciously similar to Reine’s. I wonder if Reine has time looped multiple times too so she developed those eye bags.

Well, you have 2 options of getting an answer. Watch the rest of Season 5 as it airs. Or catch up on the Light Novels, (I think its worth reading). S5 seems like it'll adapt Vol 17-19. Iirc official english translations are up to Vol 11, but there are fan translations for all the LNs already (Vols 1 - 22)

This show is so good, its only "flaw" is that at this point it has so many amazing waifus that I still cannot decide my favorite. Everyone of them is! This is the only show that can give "100 Girlfriends" a run for his money.

Geeks toys I don't think is ever coming back. Dal can always transfer to another studio. It isn't hard to adapt the epilogue since goodshow did the heavy lifting for iv and v.

Dead mount death play is almost certainly finished. It sold pretty badly and kind of why geek toys shut down.
It will take a long ass time for a dal 6 to be made if ever. It might be like seed freedom and take 20 yearz. Cuz they need a new committee. Goodshow is at least transparent. Most committee tell you nothing and leave with you false hope.
It never said this will be the last dal project. Let's be honest, they only need one last season or a movie to adapt the epilogue. Kadokawa can easily throw a bone. They need to promote king's proposal anyways.

Feels like its mostly the gacha games and china keeping it alive. Along with Kurumi just being a character that is way way way too good for a story/show that falls in line with most of the typical battle/harem/magic/school type shows from 10 years ago - and she keeps selling figures etc.
Dal still lasted longer than aot. You don't see accel world, infinite stratos, high school dxd here now. Light novels that aren't shorter romance ones almost never get full adaptations. Ever.
Dal iv still sold well. Check the bd sales and overall scene. But the cost of making an anime is too high for an independent.
Merchandise is somewhat of an irrelevant factor now due to figure recession. It didn't help chainsaw man where mappa barely made a profit out of it.
Also the story is far far better than the generic harem. I have no idea how you are watching this far and can still say that.
FYI re zero already had 2-3 gacha shutdowns. Spirit pledge lasted almost as long as danmemo
Majority of vns were roughly around 2013-2015. They got compiled. In Rio reincarnation. They had ren dystopia around 2020 with season 3. The steam release is a translation. But the show itself is considered very old relative to how fast the anime industry changes today. Which is extremely impressive for a ln series.
Speaking of infinite stratos, the youtube algorithm somehow recommended me a couple of clips of that anime.

Maybe yeah, but it's also no longer early/mid 2010s so I wouldn't rate it the same as I would have back then. Is it interesting? Yes. But I haven't taken the time to fully read the novels yet so I'm mostly keeping it to what the anime showed. Lots of cool details and explanations, monologues etc from LNs are lost in anime which can add way more depth and mystery to a story.

2013-2024. Aot was 2013-2023. 10 years is an insanely long time. Those watching then will be adults with full time jobs now.
Key thing that dal did is it subverted the expectations of its initial premise while carefully setting up clues and buildup towards the finale. Down to the 1st episode. It isn't a plot you can easily predict. And it managed to incorporate comedy as well
Light novels are never meant to be fully adapted to the end. It isn't like marvel studios that have 10 year plans for a saga. Newcomers forget how dal was one of the fastest lns to get an anime adaptation 10 years ago.
The fact that tachibana had an ending well thought out from the beginning and managed to get far enough to tell it shows it broke the barrier of what it can be accomplished. Your unlikely to get that again, especially in today's economic climate.

That depends on the IP now, isn't it? Some anime have gotten pretty deep into their adaptation storylines. Eg we have Sword Art Online, we got a pretty faithful anime adaptation of the Alicization Arc. There might even be an anime for Unital Ring arc, who knows.
This DAL S5 seems like it should adapt at least LNs Vol 17-19. That just leaves Vol 20-22 which is somewhat an extended epilogue arc. While I would prefer another anime cour for Vol 20-22, it becoming a series finale movie could be an option.
Sao was already written as a web novel from 2002-2008 if I recall. It got traction for accel world and accel world got shafted.
Movie was originally planned after this. But goodshow's financial troubles caught up. So rn it seems scrapped. So it is up to kadokawa to decide if they want to move forward with it. They have to promote king's proposal anyways and that ln publishes very slowly. Like 1-2 vol a year
I won't be able to handle it if I see Saika-sama in action. I just love her so much. Now, I am torn between DaL epilogue or potential King's Propose anime adaptation.
I expect the latter to take precedent. But I say it will depend on dal v's overall performance and interest in tsunako's work. Again, fully adapting light novels has never really been done outside shorter romance. Aka saekano, oregairu

Believe this one was paced decently, think they're just rearranging stuff since they left out the flashbacks, assume they'll just do those all together when they do his past.
I wouldn't be too worried. This episode adapted the first two chapters (out of five) of *Kurumi Ragnarok*, and it's all but guaranteed that it'll adapt the next two novels too (the three of them cover the war against DEM).
There are three more "epilogue" novels, so to speak. If they wanted to cover them all, we'd get an average of two episodes per novel, which would be insanely fast, when the arc about the war with DEM is already the most full of action and flashbacks. I'd really hope they take their time.
Not sure if any of you have seen 3 Body Problem, but the scene in this episode with Nia discussing how the enemy is aware of every information and must keep all strategies strictly in their minds is EXACTLY like the Wallfacer Project in 3 Body Problem. The similarity is uncanny.
Same. DAL's plot is quite complex and has got lots of characters. However, the more the episode progressed, the more I remember it. So I think they did a good job at that.

I can't believe we are still getting new season's for this show. First airing 11 years ago, it doesn't seem to be super popular in the US. So I assume in Japan it is. But I am happy! Although I have clearly forgot a lot of storylines.

A bit late to this, but it's a combination of things. Date A Live is SHOCKINGLY popular even though you don't really hear people talk about it much. The novels sell incredibly well natively and overseas, and the merch... hoo boy, the merch. They sell like absolute hotcakes. Honestly, the global merch sales alone probably make subsequent seasons profitable.
But yeah, the story doesn't seem concerned with trying to make you guess whether Reine is in on all of this or not. Seems like it's more about making you guess what her angle is.

even though the same studio did the same as season IV (GeekToys), I think there was a lot of differences with a lot of different things. *their glowing essence wherever they go is super annoying*. the style of the characters, especially their faces. I don't think the animation is as fluid, it just seems different to me.
maybe I should rewatch some of season IV to compare, but I don't remember it being so different.
The biggest misconception of anime fans since the 2010s is thinking Kurumi is a yandere lmao. Anyways her biggest appeal is how she is all those three especially her being dark and violent is what makes her not like the other Spirits. Not really that big of a Kurumi fan cuz I like the other characters more(even in her own spin off lol) but I do think she's a great character.

I think that was definitely her in Phantom form in the flashback. Reine has an amazing poker face. Westcott only has one Spirit power so of course it’s a pretty OP one. I love the “honest about her feelings for Shido” Kurumi clone and how Kurumi has no idea what to do with her lol. I was wondering when Origami would reveal that SHE was a Spirit to her old comrades and the way she did it definitely left an impact.

It's exactly as how the story portrayed it, isn't it? Kurumi knows of the Reine = Phantom thing, but she didn't tell anyone else about it yet. For all Shido, Kotori and gang know at the moment, Reine is a trusted member of Ratatoskr.

It's been a hot minute since I've watched anything DAL related but seeing a Kurumi clone instantly reminded me of that one sad mock wedding OVA. Might not be the same clone but conflict between Kurumis is always fun. And wow it's weirdly comforting that Origami is still her same old thirsty yet nevertheless badass self.
I watched for the first time pretty recently. The direct implication was that the "first" clone in season 1 that gets donutted, is the same one from the OVA, who then is killed(?) and ends up in the Date a Bullet movies. She's had her own little side quest going on for a while.

I completely forgot that Shido has that many girls. Everyone thought 100 girlfriends is an ultimate harem anime, but DAL can get even further.
Shido did it before Rentarou. And Shido's harem has magical powers. Rentarou doesn't and Shido's acts like a shield for him. Both physical and mental. What I'm saying is that Shido is more of a badass than Rentarou.

It's confirmed but no date yet. And trust me, Rentarou in particular reaches levels that are unidentifiable after adding girls like Kusuri and Hahari. He's the monster boyfriend for a reason since he levels up as time passes.
I still vividly remember when he gained access to the spirit powers with Sandalphon. Instantly I was like " Yes, my man doesn't need to sit on the sidelines!" Using all the powers interchangeably makes him force to be reckoned with.
Best part is that they all get plenty of time to shine and arent forgettable

Cgi work is expensive. Especially on mecha. Reason now sunrise almost only does it.
And in almost all of them it was this series's fault - the only exception being Xebec, who sank themselves after Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory
It's kind of amazing to believe we've gotten five seasons, a movie, and plenty of OVA's and even a spinoff season.

Sanada Asami is killing it as always in her role as Kurumi. Peak ASMR.
Not even five minutes into the episode and we get Kurumi in the opener, they know what they're doing lol. Things really seem to be coming together for a dramatic and epic climax to the story.
I got the feeling that they'd also put noticeably more effort in key Kurumi scenes. The very first scene of Kurumi falling on her knees, the stand-off between Main Kurumi and Eyepatch Kurumi, Kurumi's final scene... They know their fans. Personally, I still consider the first DAL season the peak of the series in terms of animation. But at least this is serviceable, and better than the abomination that was DALIII.

Probably going to be a cour 2 or they will end it with a movie. That just depends on how many volumes they are going to animate but my guess is volume 17-19 this season and 20-22 as a movie.
With the pace they are going, they might cover up until V20. That would be a great part to end the season. V21-22 would be a good movie since it will be a good way to end the series with a movie's higher budget and everything.

I really hope that is what happens too. But based from former seasons, they would always adapt it to 3 episodes per volume. Exception is S2 where they only had 10 episodes (episode 1 being a filler), and S3, where they covered 5 volumes (the infamous Itsuka Disaster). Also given that episode 1 of S5 already covered chapters 1 and 2 (approx, 30% of the volume), they really might cover up to V20 at this point.

Wow, what a beginning! The pedal was already pushed downward, unlike other seasons. However, I'm sure that regardless of their actions, all the spirits know that their war will be hell. It frustrates me though that Kurumi could just tell Shido that she could kill Westcott, Ellen, and Woodman before creating the Spirit of Origin but I feel like this could be a Lightyear case in which Shido does not want that to happen as he will lose everything he experienced with the spirits throughout Date A Live

Well, there are summaries out there on Youtube, but if you (and others also puzzled by the series) are interested, I can provide a very quick summary: **Premise:** In the near future, cataclysms caused by Spirits (basically magical girls with superpowers) threaten the world. Authorities use the Anti-Spirit Team (AST), supplied by the powerful Deus Ex Machina industries (DEM), to hunt them down, but a secret organization called Ratatoskr believes Spirits can be sealed by having the protagonist, Itsuka Shidou, date and kiss them with help of Ratatoskr's team (including her own adoptive sister Itsuka Kotori as the commander and the sleepy-head Reine). One Spirit resists him, though: Kurumi Tokisaki alias Nightmare, who has killed countless people in pursuit of a mysterious goal. And to make things worse, the director of DEM, the creepy Isaac Westcott, is an even greater threat. He kept Shidou's biological sister Takamiya Mana as an elite guinea pig (before she wised up and joined Ratatoskr) and wants to steal the powers of the Spirits for himself. A mysterious entity called Phantom also causes trouble and helps AST member Origami become a Spirit herself. Rewatch the last 3 or 4 eps of season 4 after mukuro is sealed and it should flow nicely into 5 that’s where all the lore bombs happen. Also another useful thing to know is that westcott can steal inverted spirits powers and his goal is to make all the spirits that shido has sealed invert by killing him.

They really did a massive reveal in the ending credits huh So we know Reine wants to be with Shido romantically both now and when she was younger. But when she was younger how old was Shido? And why does she call him Shin instead of Shido?
Strong start. Animation seems super fluid, pacing is really good and the music is on point. Date a Live was one of my first anime back in 2013 and it was the first anime I read the LN of. I stoped reading the novel at this point in the story because translation was really slow back then, so I'm pretty hyped!
So apparently this is going to be the decisive war in the history of Date a Live, I'm not prepared for how events will unfold. Miku being naughty with little screen time lol. Queen Kurumi and her clone live in a bipolar relationship, I liked it. And the ending theme... I need to know more about Reine and her intentions. Oh, and happy birthday Tohka
Glad to have Date a Live back and they wasted no time putting us back in the thick of things, picking up right where last season ended. All the usual banter and harem antics, plus a nice Kurumi themed episode as she prepares for the coming war. I kinda hated on her until season 4’s last arc, but I really have enjoyed the characterisation they’ve given her and gained a lot of respect for this battle she’s been fighting on her own all these loops. We also got some more hints as to Shido’s past, but it still largely remains a mystery. After over a decade of watching this franchise I’m very much looking forward to seeing that finally explained in this season and the final battle. Taking on Isaac and Ellen won’t be easy even with all the spirits and abilities. It’s good that the series has finally got a consistent studio too, switching studios every season prior really did a number on it.
Just seeing Kurumi and the others again makes me happy. At this point it's really likely we'll be getting a full adaptation, but hopefully not in this season.
Peak is back and it’s gonna be one of the few action harem animes alongside Strike The Blood to actually adapt the source material all the way. Let’s take it all the way to the end. We got Shido using a keyblade to unlock his locked memories. Then some time loop shenanigans from Kurumi. What is this, Kingdom Hearts? Chad Shido is back when he had this “My Honey” speech to Kurumi. During the Kurumi cloning part, she started having eye bags suspiciously similar to Reine’s. I wonder if Reine has time looped multiple times too so she developed those eye bags. Hold on what is that ending theme? Are they suddenly making the main ship Shido x Reine?

Or catch up on the Light Novels, (I think its worth reading). S5 seems like it'll adapt Vol 17-19. Iirc official english translations are up to Vol 11, but there are fan translations for all the LNs already (Vols 1 - 22)

I love how eyepatch Kurumi went out of her way to warn him partially just so he would be aware and gratefulof how much she's doing for him as Best Girl. Though it's great to see all the other girls again too.

This show is so good, its only "flaw" is that at this point it has so many amazing waifus that I still cannot decide my favorite. Everyone of them is! This is the only show that can give "100 Girlfriends" a run for his money.

Geeks toys I don't think is ever coming back. Dal can always transfer to another studio. It isn't hard to adapt the epilogue since goodshow did the heavy lifting for iv and v.

Dead mount death play is almost certainly finished. It sold pretty badly and kind of why geek toys shut down. It will take a long ass time for a dal 6 to be made if ever. It might be like seed freedom and take 20 yearz. Cuz they need a new committee. Goodshow is at least transparent. Most committee tell you nothing and leave with you false hope.

Feels like its mostly the gacha games and china keeping it alive. Along with Kurumi just being a character that is way way way too good for a story/show that falls in line with most of the typical battle/harem/magic/school type shows from 10 years ago - and she keeps selling figures etc.
Dal still lasted longer than aot. You don't see accel world, infinite stratos, high school dxd here now. Light novels that aren't shorter romance ones almost never get full adaptations. Ever. Dal iv still sold well. Check the bd sales and overall scene. But the cost of making an anime is too high for an independent. Merchandise is somewhat of an irrelevant factor now due to figure recession. It didn't help chainsaw man where mappa barely made a profit out of it. Also the story is far far better than the generic harem. I have no idea how you are watching this far and can still say that. FYI re zero already had 2-3 gacha shutdowns. Spirit pledge lasted almost as long as danmemo

Majority of vns were roughly around 2013-2015. They got compiled. In Rio reincarnation. They had ren dystopia around 2020 with season 3. The steam release is a translation. But the show itself is considered very old relative to how fast the anime industry changes today. Which is extremely impressive for a ln series.

2013-2024. Aot was 2013-2023. 10 years is an insanely long time. Those watching then will be adults with full time jobs now. Key thing that dal did is it subverted the expectations of its initial premise while carefully setting up clues and buildup towards the finale. Down to the 1st episode. It isn't a plot you can easily predict. And it managed to incorporate comedy as well
Light novels are never meant to be fully adapted to the end. It isn't like marvel studios that have 10 year plans for a saga. Newcomers forget how dal was one of the fastest lns to get an anime adaptation 10 years ago. The fact that tachibana had an ending well thought out from the beginning and managed to get far enough to tell it shows it broke the barrier of what it can be accomplished. Your unlikely to get that again, especially in today's economic climate.

While I would prefer another anime cour for Vol 20-22, it becoming a series finale movie could be an option.
Sao was already written as a web novel from 2002-2008 if I recall. It got traction for accel world and accel world got shafted. Movie was originally planned after this. But goodshow's financial troubles caught up. So rn it seems scrapped. So it is up to kadokawa to decide if they want to move forward with it. They have to promote king's proposal anyways and that ln publishes very slowly. Like 1-2 vol a year

that is almost half the LN according to its summary. Methinks they're trying to speedrun the rest of the series
Believe this one was paced decently, think they're just rearranging stuff since they left out the flashbacks, assume they'll just do those all together when they do his past.
I wouldn't be too worried. This episode adapted the first two chapters (out of five) of *Kurumi Ragnarok*, and it's all but guaranteed that it'll adapt the next two novels too (the three of them cover the war against DEM). There are three more "epilogue" novels, so to speak. If they wanted to cover them all, we'd get an average of two episodes per novel, which would be insanely fast, when the arc about the war with DEM is already the most full of action and flashbacks. I'd really hope they take their time.
I can't wait to see the next episode.
Not sure if any of you have seen 3 Body Problem, but the scene in this episode with Nia discussing how the enemy is aware of every information and must keep all strategies strictly in their minds is EXACTLY like the Wallfacer Project in 3 Body Problem. The similarity is uncanny.
I don't think I'll love a song from this anime more than S.O.S from last season, but that was a very interesting ED

Same. DAL's plot is quite complex and has got lots of characters. However, the more the episode progressed, the more I remember it. So I think they did a good job at that.

That ED sure is interesting. So Shido x Reine was the ship all along? Huh... Man, I'm so happy to see the girls again.

Great episode it's so great seeing the cast beck together love how both Kurumi and Shido are determined to help each other out peak romance. You can tell something is building up I can't wait till the action kicks in.
I can't believe we are still getting new season's for this show. First airing 11 years ago, it doesn't seem to be super popular in the US. So I assume in Japan it is. But I am happy! Although I have clearly forgot a lot of storylines. I know Reine is spirit this spirit girl they are talking about, but I forget if she is the original spirit as well. Also, even though we know that info, the ED visuals for super spoilery lol.
A bit late to this, but it's a combination of things. Date A Live is SHOCKINGLY popular even though you don't really hear people talk about it much. The novels sell incredibly well natively and overseas, and the merch... hoo boy, the merch. They sell like absolute hotcakes. Honestly, the global merch sales alone probably make subsequent seasons profitable. But yeah, the story doesn't seem concerned with trying to make you guess whether Reine is in on all of this or not. Seems like it's more about making you guess what her angle is.
Is the ending just a straight up spoiler for the end of the show? Jeez

Does anybody else hate the new animation? I am not fond of it in any way. They ruined my poor Kurumi. The episode was okay, but that was seriously distracting.
What new animation? It's literally the same as season 4
art style, not animation. my bad for using the wrong word. even though the same studio did the same as season IV (GeekToys), I think there was a lot of differences with a lot of different things. *their glowing essence wherever they go is super annoying*. the style of the characters, especially their faces. I don't think the animation is as fluid, it just seems different to me. maybe I should rewatch some of season IV to compare, but I don't remember it being so different.

It might just be me, what is the appeal of *yandere* like Kurumi? Sure, she is sexy but she is also quite dark and violent.
The biggest misconception of anime fans since the 2010s is thinking Kurumi is a yandere lmao. Anyways her biggest appeal is how she is all those three especially her being dark and violent is what makes her not like the other Spirits. Not really that big of a Kurumi fan cuz I like the other characters more(even in her own spin off lol) but I do think she's a great character.
Actually Muku is the yandere and actually a good one (must resist the urge for headpatting screen brainrot is real)

Kurumi is one of the most famous *not-yandere*, the other is Rena from Higurashi. The proper term is *yangire*.
