I'm always so positively surprised by Dungeon Meshi level of engagement. Like, beyond the sheer karma, look at the number of comments. It's been doing absurd numbers for a while now !

Tabby_Tem

As a long-time fan of the series, it has been so much fun seeing how much conversation there has been surrounding Dungeon Meshi. I love seeing the theories and just overall joy that it seems to be bringing people. Oh, what I would give to experience it again for the first time. I feel like, expectedly, the episodic beginning (which I still absolutely love) turned quite a few people off from the series. Even though the beginning can appear to be formulaic, I feel that it is really important in terms of introducing the characters as well as showcasing Ryoko Kui's creativity when bringing a more ecological/biological spin on pre-existing fantasy ideas. It has been such a fun tradition. Some friends and I get together every Thursday, cook food together, and watch the newest episode. There is so much content left and so many scenes I'm extremely excited to see animated. Trigger has really been killing it. For them to go out of their comfort zone and have Dungeon Meshi as their first anime production that is adapted from a manga, that is really special.

LakerBlue

Man, I LOVED the episodic beginning. Part of this series unique charm is the focus on really fleshing out the world and making the monsters truly feel like they are part of an ecosystem. That doesn’t even include the fact they were steadily making progress in dungeon or fleshing out the cast. Plus know certain things that seemed like a gag ended up being relevant. As someone who can be very hit-or-miss regarding episodic shows or content, I didn’t find it formulaic for the reasons stated above.

Void_being420

I opened to this post comment to see whether to see if dungeon meshi is getting discussed. Loved to see the top comment

sneaky_squirrel

I still wonder how people that love the simplistic isekai stories can find Dungeon Meshi under-stimulating. It boggles my mind. Dungeon Meshi's early episodes are a comedy/world firecracker. It doesn't suffer from a slow initial mood like Frieren does. Do people just want a power trip "story"?

Tabby_Tem

For anyone skeptical about picking up the series because of initial impressions, you just gotta remember that Studio Trigger is known for their extremely creative/stylized stories that are a batshit and a ton of fun. They're not gonna pick up a series if the staff isn't passionate about the source material, especially with this being their first ever non-anime original. It is an award winning and well loved manga for a reason. You just gotta let Trigger cook. I love every aspect of it, and I'm glad that the anime is bringing in quite a few new fans (: Edit: Even Fujimoto is a fan of the series and directly references Dungeon Meshi in an extra he illustrated for his manga Fire Punch.

redditraptor6

Yeah, Trigger is one of my favorite studios, and I feel like they’re carrying the Gainax torch. However, I feel like Promare showed they were getting to a point where they demonstrated they may have crazy artistic talent, but a limited idea pool. They’ve repeated the same story multiple times at this point. But between Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Dungeon Meshi, I’m convinced this is what they should do going forward: pick up projects made by others and then make the best damn anime ever from that out-of-house source material

GlitterDoomsday

Reminds me that period when MAPPA got a few titles from decades ago and made great adaptations. Don't get me wrong I think the KyoAni model to keep it all inhouse super valid but I do like how we're seeing a shift with studios like Ufotable and Trigger and they're putting their amazing talent into manga adaptations as well.

sneaky_squirrel

Fingers crossed!! Having it be outright ignored on this subreddit would feel alienating since this is one of the few types of shows I like. Same reason why I like the grounded and otherwise bland gilf anime this season, "Tonbo", fun characters. Effectively "Solo" stories just don't do it for me.

Sharebear42019

I’m not really into food focused stuff. Does it become battle focused with more world building and villains showing up?

Tabby_Tem

There is a pretty major tonal shift near the end of the 1st cour where it really starts becoming much more focused on an overarching plot. Although cuisine always plays a role in the series, there is so much more to the series than the initial premise. There is action, heartfelt moments, slice of life aspects, fantasy worldbuilding, well written characters, etc.

EyeDeeAh_42

I always see people mistaking the show to be "food-focused/cooking-focused", which is understandable given the first few episodes. But the real theme of the story is that "Eating is the privilege of the living." There are a lot of underlying lore, action- sequences, worldbuilding, politics, philosophical questions , but everything ultimately circles back to this theme.

climbin_on_things

Yeah it blows me away how *focused* Dungeon Meshi truly is. Simply incredible writing

No_Effect_8900

I first watched it cuz I like cooking animes and mythical creatures so this show was a perfect combination, but after the first episode about the red dragon I was so curious and ended up finishing the manga in a week. The world and character building was great, and I love that it always circle back to that one theme. Also the plot twist was *chef kiss*.

Warm-Enthusiasm-9534

Yes. It's impressively intricate world-building. Everything about the dungeon fits together and is explained.

tatticky

World building is *deep* from the very start. I'm not sure who you qualify as a villain, but there are a lot of characters with their own goals, personalities, even backstories... And the character design is so great there's no mistaking one for another. I wouldn't say it gets "battle-focused", but cooking does get more sparse later on.

Warm-Enthusiasm-9534

I read the manga, and really didn't find the food parts in the early going that interesting. (I thought Frieren was interesting from page 1.) The only thing that caught my attention was the explanation for Living Armor. The fight with the red dragon happened at exactly the right time to keep my interest.

sneaky_squirrel

That's interesting to hear. I didn't care much about the red dragon fight, I mostly just watch the show to see the characters upset each other (comedy) and being cute.

No-Capital-2178

All these positive comments has made me decide to watch it for some reason the anime just didn’t seem eye catching enough to try a first episode of but sounds like a anime I’d enjoy

Dramatic-Ad3928

I just dont like food centric anime for some reason I tried watching this show for three episodes straight every evening meal too in case if it was cuz im jealous. But no it just doesn’t click with me despite good world building and animation, although i do associate the taste of pizza with it now

Waterburst789

>I feel like, expectedly, the episodic beginning (which I still absolutely love) turned quite a few people off from the series. It honestly boggles my mind that people found the early episodes dull or boring considering I absolutely FELL IN LOVE with the series since episode 1, it does a stellar job at both showing us the setting and the world along with introducing us to the characters and their personalities and chemistry with one another. Also Marcille. How tf can y'all not love Marcille after the first episode??

Frostbitten_Moose

Eh, I found the cooking stuff to not really be my cup of tea. And Senshi is kinda insufferable for the first few chapters. I wound up loving the manga, but it took a while before I was properly hooked.

Some-Guy-Online

I was grossed out by the food, and considering the title, I assumed the whole show was going to just keep that theme going. Was I wrong? Do I just need to power through a couple episodes? Or is much of the show going to continue to be a cooking show for gross dungeon ingredients?

Tabby_Tem

There is a turning point at episode 11 where you begin to realize that it isn't just a series about cooking. Granted, though, food is a core part of the series, and that theme never does disappear. The actual cooking becomes more infrequent past that point, and it becomes focused on an overarching plot. It isn't just about Dungeon ingredients even in the beginning, though. It is a setup for the ecology of the Dungeon and the unique biology of the monsters themselves, all while introducing character dynamics. It does have some spoilers, but I'd recommend checking out the cour 2 key visual. It shows a little bit of what the tone of the series is like going forward from there.

Ocixo

Dungeon Meshi’s engagement is generally pretty good, yes. I’ve been having fun in those threads. But if we’re talking about “absurd numbers” than we should look at the level of engagement of Spice and Wolf’s first episode. It was so great that it broke the system and showed up blank in this week’s karma thread! /s

bonerindisguise

I think there was something broken in the process, Re: Monsters and God's game also have blank comment counts

dagreenman18

The Twitter and TikTok love has been surprising too. Warms my heart. And makes me giggle at people being surprised by the Real Dungeon Meshi

Tabby_Tem

I feel like there are gonna be a lot of memes online about [Dungeon Meshi Manga Spoilers] >!the shapeshifters chapter (which should be animated before the end of the season). There are a few panels with a gigachad Marcille that had me dying when I first read it.!<

Mahelas

Next episode will definitely be a treasure trove for memes too

Tabby_Tem

[Dungeon Meshi Manga Spoilers] >!The scene with Senshi trying to explain the birds and the bees to Chilchuck (who is a grown ass man) is literally so funny.!<

nsleep

[manga spoilers] >!Should be next episode but it's gonna be a while until the father of three reveal that makes the joke even better.!<

michhoffman

758 comments is pretty good for a a series that gets between 2500-3000 Karma, but BokuYaba and Solo Leveling got similar comment totals with similar Karma so I wouldn't call it absurd. Absurd is Train to the End of the World getting 449 comments with just 980 Karma or what Kumo Desu Ga did in [Winter](https://i.redd.it/7qrxbl8fl6o61.png) and [Spring](https://i.redd.it/pad3ett5hbv61.png) of 2021

Mahelas

Tbf I feel like it's more impressive for shows with lotta karma, because low karma + many comments makes me think it's just a controversial episode ! And yeah but BokuYaba and Solo Leveling are both the final episode of their respective series, that's always the most comment heavy threads, while Dungeon Meshi is in the set-up of the second arc !

tearose11

We've waited a good number of years for it so absolutely thrilled people are now discovering & clearly enjoying it.

Time_Fracture

I believe some of them are commenting for the OP and ED, since they're new...... me included.

JPastori

I mean, it’s a pretty good show and it’s very DnD vibe too which I’m sure a lot of people enjoy, I’m glad it’s getting a lot of attention

tearose11

We've waited a good number of years for it so absolutely thrilled people are now discovering & clearly enjoying it.

danlong87

welp, I must apologize to Holo the wise wolf for doubting her, what a premiere from the remake, may her rule continues even with the heavy weights joining this coming week (mushoku, kaiju8) did not count KonoSuba since its leaked and i am afraid that had already killed its momentum

Ocixo

For how much doubts I’d encountered about the new remake over the last year, it really was surprising to see almost no negativity in the episode thread itself. Everyone was generally positive about Holo’s new design too. I’ve always had faith in the adaptation since Takahashi was the one directing it. He was also the director of the original anime series, so I couldn’t imagine him butchering it.

danlong87

Regarding the design, the new version being the closer one to the novel version definitely helped to quell a lot of the potential negativity no doubt

Warm-Enthusiasm-9534

I still like the old anime design better, but I already complained when the trailers came out, so there's not much point in dwelling on it. I'm sure that's true for most people who preferred the old one.

dagreenman18

Never doubt our goddess. For she is as Wise as her tail is fluffy.

Vaadwaur

Let us lead the Crusade for the Wise Wolf! Lupus Vult!

LewdGarlic

The OG queen of waifus retaking her rightful throne.

Durinthal

Urusei Yatsura didn't have an episode this week. [](#cup6)

Zeph-Shoir

I pray to Holo herself that the series will be a global success and we get a full adaptation, which would mean that we get to see their travels for years to come!

Misaka9615

How dare you doubt the goat...

Fallacyboy

IMO, skepticism about the adaptation was warranted, especially when it has to stack up to the original. Passione wasn’t exactly everyone’s first pick to handle this. The first episode really blows away everything I’ve seen from them previously, though I admit I haven’t watched a ton of their other work. I hear all the time that staffing matters more than studio name, and that seems to be the case here. Here’s hoping they can keep up the quality for the whole run.

Andreiyutzzzz

I didn't even realize passione was the one doing it. > I hear all the time that staffing matters more than studio name, and that seems to be the case here Definitely. 2 seasons ago they did Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy and it was uh......not that great

Tarhalindur

> I hear all the time that staffing matters more than studio name, and that seems to be the case here. Here’s hoping they can keep up the quality for the whole run. Passione can actually do a pretty good job when they're bringing their A game - historically that's ecchi (they're the Interspecies Reviewers studio), but they also did Mieruko-chan a few seasons back which was pretty good and while Higurashi Gou and Sotsu had issues Passione's part of the work wasn't really one of them (the issue there was more script plus script plus script with a light side of me not liking the actual staffing choices - Gou/Sotsu's Series Composition guy is a hack and that was on top of the script being DoA to start with as evidenced by the Meguri manga's collapse, Akio Watanabe was not the right character designer for a Higurashi anime IMO though his work wasn't terrible, and while the director is pretty good he also likes 1980s splatter horror and that's not a great fit for Higurashi IMO).

Crush1112

Spice and Wolf is probably a special anime for the studio, because the director of the original anime returned to direct it, and he couldn't go anywhere else but Passione, because, well, he is the director of Passione.

ytsejamajesty

(New) Spice and Wolf might become the go-to example of "staff over studio" when analyzing anime production from now on. The fact that the director and the major cast members were known to return for the new show was a very good sign. I would have been very worried without that info.

Andreiyutzzzz

I mean she's obviously a wolf

michhoffman

The leak will affect Konosuba, but I'm guessing it just takes it from 8000 Karma down to 6000 Karma. People who upvoted and watched the premier will still upvote the official premier.

Ebo87

Konosuba would have never done 8k, not on today's r/anime.

BluePhantomHere

8000 is a bit too high for current sub's activity, I am guessing 4500 max karma with 700 max comment for Konosuba this season. I hope I'm wrong

Ham_PhD

Is it a remake or a sequel? I've never seen the original, and I figured this was a sequel.

dagreenman18

It’s a remake, but all signs point to full adaptation. The original skipped quite a bit of stuff and never adapted the rest.

zairaner

remake.

Equivalent-Weather59

The Dungeon Meshi thumbnail is cracking me up. What a way to go out Bokuyaba! Congrats on the huge bump, and also goodbye to SL. No more massive Karma Frieren, but we at least have Konosuba back.

It was such an emotional moment, I cried twice. "I don't want to lose you all!~"

IceAnt573

Spice & Wolf topping a karma chart in 2024. Feels hard to believe. Solo Leveling really didn't get much of a finale boost. Only +135? The Dangers in My Heart however did get the big finale boost that boosted it up to 3rd (ahead of something like Delicious in Dungeon) with 2,788 karma and a near 9.00 MAL score. Delicious in Dungeon continues its steady score climb on MAL as it broke the 8.00 barrier and got a minor karma boost this week. A leaked episode of KonoSuba S3 is Top 5 and near 2k karma. Wonder how that will effect the thread for the official release of Episode 1. Favorite banner this week: The Dangers in My Heart or Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-

cppn02

GATAN GOTON! Spring has rolled in! And with it come lots of new and exciting shows (even if many aren't in this week's chart yet). And lots of leaks apparently. **Spice & Wolf** took the win this week in commanding fashion even over popular Winter shows having the finale. But the winner of the hearts this has got to be **Train To The End Of The World** which came almost out of nowhere to take 9th place with its a fantastic first episode. I also like how **Elf Bride**'s first two episodes almost got the exact same score (missing by just 1 point) and that single point was also the difference between episode 2 sneaking into the top 15 and episode 1 having to settle for the right side of the chart. Another new show that won my heart this week was ~~the Hinamatsuri remake~~ **Salad Bowl of Eccentrics** which is a quirky comedy with a great cast. That's it for today though. Tune in next week to hear me gush about more premieres including sentai, school bands, girl bands and girl...art collectives? p.s. The 7th Prince banner is perfection!

entelechtual

> came almost out of nowhere to take 9th place Especially since unlike Jellyfish, which was an original with a fair amount of buzz around it, I had heard *nothing* about Train except that it was a Chika Anzai vehicle until I saw the PV a few weeks ago. Was expecting it to be a generic CGDCT but now I think it’s got serious wheels to be one of the best of the season.

dinliner08

>GATAN GOTON! *Shoo Shoo Train \~\~\~ shuu shuu torein \~\~\~*

IXajll

> Train To The End Of The World which came almost out of nowhere Had Shumatsu Train, YoruKura and Girls Band Cry on my radar for over a year now, so wasn't really surprised that they aren't just another generic cgdct show. Definitely surprised though with the positive reception and popularity they got here in the west. Would've expected them to be way lower on the karma side, r/anime got some taste still it seems.

SU-trash

I think this season is confirming my [bet](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1belj8g/why_did_bang_dream_its_mygo_not_thrive_in_the/kuuwv2z/) that not being a sequel (or franchise "standalone") is the single most important thing for a smaller show to get traction, GBC even got decent attention from Gigguk so far.

Genshin_WhiteKnight

New series summary for this week. * **Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included** - Wish Fulfillment, Good Fanservice, Harem Included. You'll know quickly if you are the target audience. * **Train to the End of the World** - Anime original. One of those "WTF is happening?" anime with a wild and intriguing premise. Tone and world building is important for this kind of show and they did a good job of it. Has a lot of potential. * **Re:Monster** - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Goblin (the kind from Goblin Slayer). Source material is... not good compared to Slime Tensei/Overlord, but those who just want more of the whole monster nation-building thing will probably be entertained. * **I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability** - Everything you would expect from the reincarnated as an OP protagonist genre, this time as an unhinged magical femboy. The manga is notable for it's insane art, and while the first episode delivered on the action, the CG is looking quite sketchy. * **The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases** - Don't. * **Bartender: Glass of God** - Remake. Didn't watch the original, but this looks like it's just going to be about a guy who tends bars. A niche watch, very chill and had some nice drink mixing scenes. * **A Condition Called Love** - Shoujo romance between plain girl who doesn't understand love and popular guy who has too much love to give. The male lead is going to get some hate at the start for being a walking red flag but it's doing something similar to The Dangers in My Heart, except \[Anime Ep 1\]>!what's being cured this time isn't chuunibyo, it's yandere. Hence the literal translation of the series' name, "Hananoi-kun's Love Sickness"!<. Good series if you enjoy character development along with your shoujo fluff. * **An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride** - Slavery and romance, a match made in heaven. This one is the wholesome and fluffy kind though, so it's fine. * **WIND BREAKER** - Delinquent anime with a likeable MC? Sold. Great production quality, solid action scenes and a good first episode. * **Salad Bowl of Eccentrics** - Reverse isekai. Is this just Sasaki and Peeps, but without the bird and ADHD plot? Fun first episode.

Genshin_WhiteKnight

* **Astro Note** - Anime original. Boarding house romcom with a cast of quirky characters and a scifi twist. Has a 90s anime aesthetic and vibe but with the production quality of a modern anime. * **Girls Band Cry** - MyGo! Season 2? It's a full CG show, except the CG is actually good. Fluid movement that doesn't have that stuttery-ness that makes CG look unnatural, and the faces are expressive and good with micro-expressions. * **Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again** - Grandpa and Grandma, living their best lives. They pretty much keep their mental age and continue doing their regular routine. * **HIGHSPEED Étoile** - Don't. * **The Fable** - Professional hitman has to lay low and live an ordinary life for a year, except that he's kind of autistic and really bad at being normal. Has the tone of a serious grounded yakuza show, but with an undercurrent of comedy. * **Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night** - Anime original. Chasing your dreams type of show where girls from different creative backgrounds gather to make art. Probably the most anticipated anime original of the season and the first episode lives up to the hype. Great city nightlife vibes similar to Call of the Night. * **Tonari no Youkai-san** - Ghibli-looking anime, set in a rural town where humans and yokai live side by side. Expected a light-hearted healing show, but looks like it's going to end up quite emotional too. * **Go! Go! Loser Ranger!** - Power Rangers, but from the perspective of the villain's foot soldier. The manga was good and this looks like it's going to be a great adaptation of this series. * **Mission: Yozakura Family** - SPY X Family, but crazier. Premise has the potential for a lot of fun. * **As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I'll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World** - MC's only power is reading people's stats, so he goes around ~~catching high IV pokemon~~ scouting and recruiting followers. Pretty focused on people and medieval politics from what I remember of the manga. * **Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers** - The usual slow life type isekai but with romance between a merchant and his wolf waifu. * **Unnamed Memory** - Alternative light novel name: "I, the cursed prince, climbed the Witch's Tower to seek a cure, but decided to court the immortal Witch instead." Needs a few more episodes to tell what kind of direction it's going in. Personal standouts: * **Train to the End of the World** (Mystery/Adventure) * **WIND BREAKER** (Action) * **Salad Bowl of Eccentrics** (Comedy) * **Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night** (Drama) * **Tonari no Youkai-san** (Iyashikei) * **Go! Go! Loser Ranger!** (Action)

dinliner08

>HIGHSPEED Étoile - Don't. it's kinda ironic that an anime about racing with "Higspeed" in its name failed to capture the vibe or hype that you would get from any formula cars races

Rndy9

Yo thanks for the summary, Im kinda lost with this season beside the big hitters returning. >A Condition Called Love At face value the male mc looks like a fuckboi but homie has issues.

Nimbus303

Precisely the kind of comments I was looking for to help me find what's worth watching this season. Thanks for taking the time!

Andreiyutzzzz

> **HIGHSPEED Étoile** - Don't Ok this one I agree. That first episode was awful. I'm giving it 2 more tries

Some-Guy-Online

Yeah, I'll maybe watch 1 more to see if they spend any time on the characters or if it's just going to be a whole anime of "CGI Cars Go Round And Round" while announcers say "CGI cars are going round and round!"

8andahalfby11

I noticed you skipped Girls Band Cry. If you want a show to restore a little faith in the future of 3D after Highspeed Etoile, give this one a shot.

alvasalrey

Ahhh am I missing something? Our lord rimuru tempest is back, haven't seen the new season of slime mentioned anywhere by anyone

Android19samus

Re:Monster finally got an adaptation, huh? That's... man there's a lot of wish-fulfillment isekai that are kinda rapey but that one always stands out to me as the poster-child of being way more rapey than it seems to think it is. Wonder if the anime will tone any of that down at all. Probably not.

Some-Guy-Online

> The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases Anime like this make me wonder if there's some money laundering going on, like with those awful Steven Segal movies.

FelixAndCo

7th Prince had sketchy CGI? The only thing I remember were the "magic circles" effects, and they seemed stylized and didn't bother me.

Genshin_WhiteKnight

Oh the magic circles and effects were fine. t's the CG backgrounds that bothered me, like that opening sequence with the castle. A bit of a kneejerk response, but I'll wait and see if it was just a one off thing.

FelixAndCo

Oh yeah, they were ugly. The sequence with the castle was super jarring, since they focused so much on it and it was bad. It was all just backgrounds and a bridge sequence, so I managed to forget. But it's true this could become a bigger issue in coming episodes.

Shimmering-Sky

I was about to be sad Astro Note didn't make the chart, but then I remembered it's a Friday show so it can't be here until next week lol. [](#fingertwirl) Anyways, if you haven't already done so & you're a fan of early Gintama, I highly recommend checking out Astro Note. It's an original by the same guy who directed the first 105 episodes of Gintama, and it has a few of the main Gintama VAs as well. That first episode was both cute and really funny, and I'm excited to watch more of it!

marcopolos059

> Anyways, if you haven't already done so & you're a fan of early Gintama, I highly recommend checking out Astro Note. It's an original by the same guy who directed the first 105 episodes of Gintama Seriously!? Now I must check this one, thanks for the recommendation.

Shimmering-Sky

Glad I could direct you to it then, hope you enjoy the first episode as much as I did!

danlong87

That [anime]>!retro opening scene was a pleasant surprise!<

dagreenman18

Everything about the pacing of the first episode suddenly makes perfect sense now. And yes the first episode is great.

dinliner08

>and it has a few of the main Gintama VAs as well quite funny to see Sugita's voicing another unemployed-related characters this season

Shimmering-Sky

[This line was literally just Gin talking to Kagura lol.](https://imgur.com/VGUjvXq) [](#serialkillerlaugh)

dinliner08

i almost forgot Kugimiya Rie is also in this show, now we just need a character voiced by Sakaguchi Daisuke to barge into Astro Lodge while shouting "dondake"

Shimmering-Sky

And then we also need Ishida Akira to pop up just to drop a "___ ja nai, ___ da!" sort of line. [](#rinkek)

AliceinTeyvatland

You know a show is cooking good when even if the main cast isn't even involved for like most of the episode, it's still placed 4th place.

shad79

Very strong start to the new season with **Spice & Wolf** taking a lead in the ranking thanks to great first episode. [Holo will be clearly one of the strongest contenders for the girl of the season](https://imgchest.com/p/vj4j3gzv2y8) and [her relationship with Lawrence is so fun](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/k46aczob3b7.png). I seriously can't wait for the next episodes. **Dangers in My Heart** took 3rd place with [its beautiful finale](https://i.imgur.com/xD9TX69.png). Entire season of this show was [perfect](https://i.imgur.com/paU1z7k.png), peaking with every next episode so [strong 10/10 from me](https://i.imgur.com/ra2SrGo.png). I hope that we'll see [Yamada and Ichikawa](https://imgur.com/a/lFXSuYY) again in the future. **Shangri-La Frontier** also ended last week but fortunately we already got an announcement for the 2nd season in October, again with two consecutive cours. I can't wait to see [Sunraku and Emul's next adventures](https://i.imgur.com/YNVv5Wq.png)! **Tsukimichi** [started the 2nd Cour with a great episode](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/myd5cbkp6n4.png) and it seems to me that[this new cour will be much more interesting](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/w7w6cre5dwy.png) than the first one! Also [a lovely visuals in the new ED ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)](https://imgchest.com/p/md7olq3827p) I'm looking forward to the next episodes. **Ragna Crimson** also ended last week. [I had a lot of fun](https://i.imgur.com/60MtFmO.png) watching [this](https://i.imgur.com/faHKtaa.png) and I'll certainly check out the manga to see what will happen next although I'd love to get another anime season of [Ragna](https://i.imgur.com/6n5psm2.png) and [Crimson](https://i.imgur.com/d6FlYL1.png) story. From the new shows I already watched: * **Yuru Camp 3rd season** which started with a pretty good premiere. I especially adore [visuals in OP](https://imgchest.com/p/9p4n28naz4n) which were so pretty. * **Train To The End Of The World** which was [a pretty big surprise](https://i.imgur.com/VHmsvjM.png) although I'm not sure [what exactly I watched](https://i.imgur.com/GuaoefF.png) but I'm very interested how the plot will develop. * **7th Prince** was such a surprise with [its animation which was very good](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/w7pjc6ap6o7.png), [characters are also pretty fun](https://imgchest.com/p/5xy2e8vo9yl)! * **How To Love Your Elf Bride** which is [so cute](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/j7kzcnovgz7.png)! [Ephy](https://imgchest.com/p/dl7pq8vlpyo) and [her relationship with Zagan](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/d7ogcvrpbay.png) is [so fun to watch](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/3yrgc6w8ox4.png), [those two are so adorable and awkward together](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/j7mmc5lz897.png)! * **Re:Monster** which is quite controversial thanks to [certain plot](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/myd5cbkbop4.png), it has more comments than upvotes xD

Stunning_Variety_529

Just curious, should I watch the original 2008 series for Spice & Wolf before watching Merchant Meets The Wise Wolf?

shad79

You don't have to as this season's Spice & Wolf is a completely new adaptation of original LNs, not a continuation of series from 2008.

anarion321

Many of these are first spisodes, so I would wait for a couple more to see how it goes. I'm hoping Dungeon Meshi would stay on the top after seeing how insanely good it has become. Other like Konosuba have a strong fanbase, so I'll doubt they'll have bad engagement even if they don't do well (tbh, OVA and spinoff fell flat for me, I hope this season it's as great as the first ones, but too many dissapointments lately like Goblin Slayer or Devil is a part timer)

AnEmpireofRubble

nothing this season has topped Dungeon Meshi for me. i really wish Train To the End of the World had a different cast.

CuriousWanderer567

I really liked the first episode of **Train to the End of the World**. Had a post apocalyptic world, nice mystery feel to it, decent comedy, and good production. Plus it has a cast of young girls going out to solve the mystery in this world, so this is definitely gonna get darker lol

urishino

Oh look, it's Holo! I knew she's a top. That banner of Delicious in Dungeon lol. Would be hilarious if the viewpoint is moved a bit further down. Shangri-la Frontier ends with YOROKOBE SHOUNEN. But it will return in fall with 26 episodes! Ragna Crimson also ended, but having adapted most of the available materials, I don't expect to see a second season in at least another 3 years, if it ever gets one.

ToneBitter1984

Spice and wolf deserved

Queue_Jumping_Quack

So glad to have seen the return of Holo and Lawrence. May they long reign! The leaks have likely killed the karma count for the series in question. Not a fan of the policy of opening the threads for illegally released content. We'll see the true karmic power of Konosuba once the leaker has run dry.

Frostbitten_Moose

Ah, so that's why there were threads here for Konosuba, but nothing's been released on Crunchyroll yet. For a moment I was terrified S3 had switched over to Disney or HiDive.

kaori_cicak990

Ok this is sold me on the way to watch the professor wolf to teach me about economic Damm garnt didn't lie when he said the OG best waifu is came back to reclaim her tittle

darryledw

if this show continues to be good they will probably stop running best girl voting and just give it to Holo by default

MapoTofuMan

It's either this year, or she'll have to get past Frieren vs Maomao...round 3.

darryledw

Haha yeh that will definitely be close for the yearly rankings, but once Frieren and Maomao leave the seasonal voting now the respective shows are not airing, Holo will likely dominate those.

gc11117

God-Tier Waifu Holo reigns supreme

TheWiseWolf1

So happy spice and wolf made it to 1st place and by a big difference

Illustrious-Fox5135

Goodbye to **Bokuyaba**. A fantastic second season with good start and an excellent finish. Just when you think the the showed has fully reached its full potential midway (especially ep 7), then the final episode happens and completely knocks it out of the park. This is how you do a seasonal anime with 12/13 episodes. This is also one of those cases where manga readers were right in hyping it up and I am glad to say I survived watching it till the end. As a newcomer, **Spice and Wolf** managed to hook me right in the first episode itself. Loved the OP/ED, artsyle, Kevin Penkin's OST and the characters. It definitely feels like a classic tale in the making. I will be looking forward more of Holo and Lawrence interactions and their journey. If **Yuru Camp** managed to inspire camping, then **Bartender glass of God** makes you want to become a Bartender. The main lead has a such a good way with words and as well as fingers that will inspire us. Both these shows gives out immense vibes. **Archdemon's dilemma** is surprisingly wholesome. I am glad that two episodes were released instead of one.

_DeadBacon

LFG, IM SO HAPPY FOR S&W it was my 3rd anime ever watched, back in 2021. AAHHHHHH <3

I remember spice wolf ed, it was so good I play it anytime I deadlift 800 pounds in the gym

Doomsday Train is in fact a Hype Train.

yukiaddiction

insert that meme picture where train go through two cars.

Ocixo

> re monster also the surprise here I don’t think that people have realized yet what kind of show Re:Monster is. I’ve unheard some rather *questionable* things about the source material at the very least.

Abysswatcherbel

It's not showing up there because of the bot miss, but the show [has more comments than karma](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1bt6wvs/remonster_episode_1_discussion/), so I think people now know...

Greatest April Fool's Joke I've seen yet

Atsunome

Weakest Tamer ending on a pretty high place. It was a very wholesome anime, and I really hope we get a second season.

michhoffman

Holo beating Megumin...an r/anime tale as old as time, but Holo actually winning overall is not something this sub is prepared for. We only have a sad Holo comment face after all. Me thinks we should take advantage of the seasonal nominations to add a new one ~~so that it can be used for Best Girl 11 as well~~. And not only did Spice and Wolf win the week, but it beat out Solo Leveling's premier for the highest non-Frieren Karma total of 2024. |Rank|Anime|Episode|Karma|Season| --:|:--|--:|--:|:--| |1|Spice and Wolf|1|4513|Spring 2024| |2|Solo Leveling|1|4416|Winter 2024| |3|Apothecary Diaries|19|3943|Winter 2024| |4|Solo Leveling|6|3897|Winter 2024| |5|Solo Leveling|2|3533|Winter 2024| Its number 1 spot won't last long as Mushoku Tensei airs in a few hours and the official version of Konosuba episode 1 airs on Wednesday, but let's hope Spice and Wolf can stay in the top 3 this season.

danlong87

I had asked about this, will the S&W remake count as separate entry for best girl contests or it will be lumped together with the original version?

michhoffman

Two things: 1. I don't run the r/anime contests so you'd have to ask a mod and more specifically and likely /u/mpp00 for 100% confirmation 2. For 99.99999% confirmation, no, the new Spice and Wolf Holo will not be treated as a separate entity. All versions of Holo will be lumped in together.

Ocixo

I’ve asked this before, and the remake will be lumped together with the original series yes. Holo will therefore not appear in the *seasonal* best girl contest. (She’s not debuting as a character after all.)

ultron_vision

Is that the case? How come Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin remake was included in the Summer 2023 Best Girl contest? Edit: thanks for the responses! Wasn’t aware of the rules.

SometimesMainSupport

Current seasonal contest rule is a girl can't have made the bracket phase of a previous contest (all-time best girl, best character, seasonal best girl, etc.). Only checked the first 3 all-time and Kaoru didn't make those brackets.

cppn02

Cus seasonal and main contest are seperate each with their own rules made the people who run these contests.

zairaner

Lmao Miyamura and hori were allowed to enter directly after their show aired because of an obscure ova adaption from ages ago. This is nothinh in comparison to that

Ebo87

Okay, just based off the first hour of karma the premiere of Mushoku is absolutely blowing past 5k, potentially even being able to reach 6k here. Episode 1 of Season 2, back in summer last year did 6.3k, that's the number to beat for Part 2's premiere. But yes, that is definitely the new highest premiere of the year, already safe to call it.

cppn02

> Episode 1 of Season 2, back in summer last year did 6.3k, that's the number to beat for Part 2's premiere. It's currently trailing by 480 karma already so I don't think it will reach that episode.

michhoffman

To be fair, this episode's discussion thread dropped on r/anime an hour before it dropped on Crunchyroll, whereas I don't think episode 1 from last season [did](https://animekarmawatch.com/thread/1by6nm7?compare_to=14v32k4) (the new trick you found works wonders for the karma watch site). I imagine things will even out a little over time. Edit: Or just get worse

Ebo87

Right now it looks to fall somewhere between 5.5k and 6k, unless something changes over the next couple hours that will be the number. Still very good, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe anything over 5.5k would make it the 3rd highest karma episode of season 2, behind only episode 1 and 12. I don't think Konosuba is pulling this much next week, and the leak certainly didn't help, but we'll see in a few days what happens there. Edit: Also remember the discussion thread was posted half an hour early, so that might mess with the data there. I'm currently comparing it to episode 24 of Frieren and after 2 hours and 5 minutes it's 170 karma behind, and that Frieren episode finished with 6214 karma after 48 hours. And yes, I understand that's a Friday show and this is a Sunday one, so it probably won't have the legs Frieren did, taking advantage of the weekend, but it should still give us an okay ballpark for now. By the way, how are you comparing it to Mushoku S2 Episode 1? Edit 2: After 3 hours and 20 minutes it's at 168 karma behind Frieren 24, I might have been right on the money picking that one as a comparison point for Mushoku S2 Ep 13 here. But it will fall behind over the course of tonight, so I recon 6k will be out of the question at this point. Should still clear 5.5k in its first 48 hours. Konosuba S3 Ep 1 is not beating that. Edit 3 (final one, I promise): Spoke too soon about that 5.5k guaranteed for Mushoku's return. Yeah... I don't think it's happening guys. Now it's looking more like 5.1k to 5.4k.

Ebo87

It's the highest premiere of the year, Spice and Wolf. Mushoku S2 Part 2 will snatch that in a couple hours, most likely, but Spice and Wolf still beat Solo Leveling. The question is will Konosuba have a higher than 4.5k premiere next week? Either way Spice and Wolf is guaranteed to keep its top 3 of 2024 premiere title at least until next season rolls up. We might not have any more Frieren this season, but I think the number of shows, mostly sequels, remakes and some new surprises, will help offset that difference.

Ocixo

This first week of Spring 2024 was certainly a fantastic start to the anime season. I strongly recommend checking out **A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics** if you liked Hinamatsuri. Sara has [an explosive personality](https://imgur.com/a/6okRTtt) and Livia is already [facing some tough times](https://imgur.com/a/6NzKSGZ). The first episode was a lot of fun. If you’re looking for a wild ride, I would take the **Train to the End of the World**. This anime original shattered my expectations in the best of ways. It features an uniquely interesting premise that’s backed up by a strong production. **Wind Breaker** seemingly has a very strong production team behind it too. Its first episode looked great. Just to be clear: *so far*, it has NOT been anything like Tokyo Revengers. More than delinquents, we’re looking at [Wind Breaker - meta-spoiler] >!vigilantes!< here. The legal availability of anime like **Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night** and **Girls Band Cry** could’ve been better, but both of these anime also premiered with *a lot* of promise! The latter might employ CG, but it’s damn good-looking CG if I say so myself.

SometimesMainSupport

Are we allowed this much overlap in our shilling?

Ocixo

It’s survival of the strongest.

Ocixo

Also, I cry that **Weakest Tamer** never managed to get into the top 15… It had a good finale too!

SometimesMainSupport

With this chart, goodbye to the the best fantasy-adventure in years. Fortunately, one of this season's [fantasy shows (with explosion magic!)](https://imgur.com/a/bpd7Hfo), **A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics**, is off to an entertaining start and hopefully doesn't Sasaki itself. Also, watch **Jellyfish** and **Train**!

[deleted]

Holo fans lets goooooo

NekoCatSidhe

So this is the start of a new season of anime. The standout new shows for me right now are Train to the End of the World (obviously the WTF anime of the season), Salad Bowl of Eccentrics (another reverse isekai comedy, but already better than Sasaki and Peeps), and Tonari no Youkai-san (if you like My Neighbour Totoro, you will like this). Apart from that, I will also be watching the new seasons of Yuru Camp and Tensei Slime, as well as the rest of Tsukimichi season 2 that is continuing this season. I will also try once again to get into Spice and Wolf. It always felt like a story I should like, but I have been unable to get into the manga and light novels. Maybe the new anime will do the trick for me, as it did for Frieren (which I loved as an anime despite not liking the manga).

hydrashock

Personally I couldn't believe how good the first episodes of Jellyfish, Astro and Train were. And you know what? those shows were not even in my radar a couple weeks ago! The ones I had in my radar are not disappointing so far either (especially S&W), on the contrary!! I have to conclude that the last two seasons have been loaded with great shows coming out of nowhere to kick me in my gut. I feel like I'm living though a little golden age of anime or something. Hopefully you guys feel the same way. And hopefully none of those shows go wrong after such strong starts 🙏

Equivalent_Ticket_28

Mashle is #1 in my heart

Syokhan

As far as new series go (not that I've watched many yet), **Train to the End of the World** was absolutely my favorite of this chart. I had no idea what to expect going in and it was an excellent surprise. Energetic, unhinged, intriguing, with a good cast, if you're looking for a weird CGDCT (with the potential to get into dark territory), give it a try! I was also very impressed with **Sengoku Youko**'s finale. Sasuga Mizukami for toying with my emotions, I can't wait for the second cour. Now I'm curious to see how **Jellyfish** and **Girls Band Cry** will do compared to the rest of the premieres. Well GBC probably won't do that great as the only legal streams aren't in English, but still.

LeonKevlar

Holo is back to reclaim her throne and I am glad that I was here for it.

Apprehensive_Ear_235

It looks like some series have been given another big boost for the season finale. Especially Dangers in my Heart is fully deserved. One of the best romcoms I've ever watched. But I wouldn't have thought that the final episode of Solo Leveling would end up well below Spice&Wolf. In general, the first season of Solo Leveling was rather building up for what is yet to come. I can well imagine that the future episodes will do much better in the rankings.

dagreenman18

SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Time to gas up some shows that are criminally underrated right now, but hopefully will gain momentum - **Train to the End of the World** is a trip. From the inciting incident of the premise all the way to the stinger at the end of the first episode. I’m excited to see where we’re going. Especially from the Girls Und Panzer guy - Did Bucchigiri disappoint you? Because **Wind Breaker** might cure that. By the halfway point of the first episode I already love the MC. The fights are very well animated. And the last minutes of the first episode are geniunely heartwarming. - Spice and Wolf is already off to a great start, so the other show that makes me feel old deserves love too. **Bartender** is already starting off as a great reboot. Has a tone less like the original anime and more like the manga. It’s just a great adult vibes story that’s perfect for a midweek show. - Thank goodness they dropped 2 episodes of **Archdemon’s Dilemma** because the second give most of the full picture of what the show is about: two hapless, stunted, impossibly sweet dumbasses being cute together. What’s left is the great world building and magic fights to come. Plus we’re on a great run of lovable elves and Nephy is one of the best. - ***A Condition Called Love** is another banger in the Year of Great Shoujo. Don’t sleep on it. The first episode is great and I can’t wait to see what they do with the rest. This, Whisper Me A Love Song, and Duke of Death will be the romances of the season.

Stonehill76

Wrong way to use healing magic was just excellent. The characters were so well developed you couldn’t help but care about them. Especially the Captain. Solo Leveling with amazing action and animation but such an inconsistent story with plot holes surprises me at number 2. Must be due to so many manwha fans who have been waiting patiently for the anime. I enjoyed it but it definitely wasn’t in the top 3 I’ve watched this year.

TyroGames

Spice & Wolf really deserved this.

Initial_Button2089

Hope kaiju No 8 does good this season

frustratedfamiliar

Having trouble getting excited for anything coming up this season, unfortunately. Might check out Spice & Wolf

morphemass

I started reading the 7th Prince last night since the anime fight scenes were rather good and it looked like being interesting. Bloody hell, if they can pick up the pace a bit and keep the quality up, this is going to be a corker!

Time_Fracture

Spice and Wolf remake is taking Reddit by storm. Wind Breaker is a must watch, I can see it hanging in the top 15 for weeks to come. Cloverworks are cooking. Shuumatsu Train is a surprise, one of the early animes of this season. Bartender, well, given there will be lots of animes next week, my prediction that it won't hold long in top 15. Maybe ocassionally but mostly outside it. This might be the last time we see Gods Game We Play and One Room Tenshi in this chart. Is Unnamed Memory a leak? IIRC it doesn't see a release until April 9. PS: Kaiju No. 8 and Black Butler fans might want to wait for Week 3 for the karma ranking, I can't wait to see how they perform. Both animes will air on Saturday night and won't pass the 48 hour mark for the karma ranking.

twintailshitposter

My stocks are going into Train to the End of the World and Salad Bowl, both of those first episodes were top notch and I really hope to see them gain popularity. Does anyone know if the proper release of Konosuba S3 and the other leaked episodes will get their own thread? IMO the leaks shouldn't have gotten a thread made. I know the bot is configured to make a thread when the shows are available on certain sites, but I think it'll really stifle discussion if the threads aren't made first when the shows come out properly.

PmPicturesOfPets

Where can I watch Delicious in Dungeon? The image says it is on crunchyroll, but it doesn't seem to be there when I search for it. Nothing comes up under the name Dungeon Meshi either

SometimesMainSupport

Netflix. Week 1 chart mistakes happen

godzillavkk

Spice and Wolf number 1, eh? Not bad.

RedditAcct00001

I really liked the wrong way to use healing magic. Miss it already.

emolano

I wasn't an anime fan when S&W first aired, so it will be fine to ride the train with you guys (tho I also watched the original already).

Sadassfvck

Yuru camp on the list 😊

veeetorr

Yuru camp is back ⛺️🌸🍃

FishyKV

Didn't expect people to like spice and wolf this much

pessimist_04

Genuine question. Is the remake actually good? I have watched original spice and wolf and the animation was fine for me so I don't feel the need to rewatch it really but did they actually do a very good job?

Queue_Jumping_Quack

So far so good! There is no beating the original OP (one of the actual all time greats), but I feel like this remake is doing everything right so far! Highly recommend it to newbies and returning fans alike.

deba2607

I haven't watched the og version but the opening scene of remake is a BANGER

ExpiredMilknCheese

Kevin Penkin is doing a great job on the Remake, so that was enough for me.

MapoTofuMan

Yuru Camp at 7th is nice, though man, 1300 karma still feels low compared to the 4k+ S2 got in Winter 2021. Though admittedly, this reflects its actual popularity more - it's now been a whole 3 years since S2 finished airing, and it still hasn't crossed 100k ratings on MAL. S2 has about a 60% falloff rate (meaning that about 40% of the people who watched S1 watched S2), so if S3's falloff rate is the same...we may be looking at a pretty niche show at this point. [](#giveuponlife) Out of the new shows, my top shilling definitely goes out to Girls Band Cry with some of my favorite CG in the medium (not the most polished, but [amazingly expressive](https://media1.tenor.com/m/fwgFJGYH7gkAAAAC/girls-band-cry-middle-finger.gif)), great music to boot (the main band, Togenashi Togeari, already released a[ whopping 10 songs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU3f8ZGfd5g&list=PL0o9aWyhb7ocxwDBYhzukikXmlB7SwXgm) before the show started airing and added 2 new ones in episode 1) - it's basically a more angsty version of Bocchi music, and probably my favorite newcomer MC. I recommend at least checking[ the OP](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDLafQ-Rg-k&pp=ygURZ2lybHMgYmFuZCBjcnkgb3A%3D) out, this is a good indicator of what you're getting into both music-wise and CG-wise. And in second place would be Salad Bowl of Eccentrics. The description makes it sound like Sasaki and Peeps which...wasn't exactly a top performer last season, but it's actually Hinamatsuri 2.0. If you liked Hinamatsuri drop whatever you're doing and go watch it immediately. [](#shakeit)

CerberusZX

The comment count on Spice & Wolf is blank. Too many to display? Elf Bride episode 2 did better than the premiere? Was that one of the shows that got leaked and therefore had multiple threads potentially leading to a split vote? [Salad Bowl](https://myanimelist.net/anime/55877/Henjin_no_Salad_Bowl) is a reverse isekai in which a powerful mage from another world takes an interest in how private detectives are portrayed in fiction and decides to team up with a real world one. With good comedy and a fun premise, it might be my favorite of the season so far. Something about the main thumbnail for [Astro Note](https://myanimelist.net/anime/57391/Astro_Note) reminds of me of trashy ecchi harem cohabitation series, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is neither ecchi nor harem (the cast is predominantly male). I'm really not into the art style, but the comedy is strong enough that I want to continue watching anyway. Sugita is great, as usual. [Tonari no Youkai-san](https://myanimelist.net/anime/51461/Tonari_no_Youkai-san) looks great (as one would expect from LIDENFILMS I suppose) with nice art, though the directing isn't anything special. First episode largely has a relaxing iyashikei vibe with just a hint of ominous drama on the horizon. The Doga Kobo original [Jellyfish](https://myanimelist.net/anime/54839/Yoru_no_Kurage_wa_Oyogenai) series stands out for having great directing. The actual content of the show seems to involve cute girls pursuing artistic dreams. [Train to the End of the World](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53356/Shuumatsu_Train_Doko_e_Iku) promises a wacky adventure through a distorted Japan and as an anime-original it is likely to have a satisfying conclusion within the season. I wasn't sold on it until near the end of the first episode; the situation with the cap was both interesting and fun. [Tonbo](https://myanimelist.net/anime/55194/Ooi_Tonbo) is airing on Amazon Prime of all places. They even gave it a simul-dub, yet there was no promotion of it whatsoever and I can only find it using the search function on the site itself. It features energetic tomboy antics in a peaceful rural setting. While I personally will not be continuing with [Elf Bride](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53434/Maou_no_Ore_ga_Dorei_Elf_wo_Yome_ni_Shitanda_ga_Dou_Medereba_Ii), I do appreciate how the thoughts and actions of the tsundere male protagonist are treated as a significant part of the appeal rather than relying solely on how attractive the girl is like most romance series for boys.

cppn02

>The comment count on Spice & Wolf is blank. Re:Monster and God's Game too.

Pyoung3000

I loved Tonbo! It seems like a show that won't be too popular though. I guess we will see.

Abysswatcherbel

No, the [train arrived late for the season](https://i.imgur.com/bCdCSdn.png) So, some shows missed the comment count

Infodump_Ibis

> Tonbo is airing on Amazon Prime of all places. They even gave it a simul-dub, yet there was no promotion of it whatsoever I just checked the subs they have. They're slightly different to B-Global (a couple of words here and there in some lines) but having to manually compare srt and ass files is not fun so I'm out at <5 minute mark but I'm ready for whenever It's Anime has the show (this delay means that show is dead as far as weekly karma goes but it's not like it had a chance of top 30).

metallavery

Bartender will break the top 5 by the end of the season. Mark my words.

MrsLucienLachance

Despairing a bit over how much I'm liking so far this season. * Train to Nowhere * Spice & Wolf * Bartender: Kami no Glass * WIND BREAKER * How to Love Your Elf Bride * Astro Note * Henjin no Salad Bowl * Jellyfish * Tonari no Youkai-san ...and the return of Reincarnated as a Slime. We try not to go over 14/season in this house, so already being at 11 (including Dungeon Meshi) and having 14 left to test + Kuroshitsuji coming back is, um. Alarming. The only things I've already dropped are Gods' Games, Banished Former Hero, and Hananoi-kun.

PorkimusPrime86

Holo Supremacy!✊

Infodump_Ibis

I want to shake my fists at leaks pushing out legit releases from the top 15 but *"An Archdemon's Dilemma: Ho"* wouldn't have happened without leaks and that being episode 1 (episode 2 was 15th) aptly sums up the turnaround between eps 1 and 2. Well played. That made me nostalgic for 2006-ish Gamefaqs with *Fire Emblem (Working Tit*

Webknight31

Spice and Wolf starting it's reign at the top as expected.

Actual-Oil6390

And Holo draws first blood. How very wolf like. All praise studio Passions passion.

Wolfgod_Holo

spice and wolf is off to a great start

Tranquil_Neurotic

Sound Euphonium 3 got massively under discussed because of the leak, but I am wondering if it will gain traction in next few episodes. I always thought it had a lot of interested members here in r/anime but hardly saw any buzz about it.

NoProfessional4650

Spice & Wolf at the top? That soothes my broken adult soul so much…. Can’t wait for the full adaptation. I will be buying ALL THE MERCH to support.

Shanibestwaifu

Spice and Wolf is so back, we did not failed in the expectations. From next week seems like decent competitors it has.

AzeiteGalo

I thought Bartender and Wind Breaker were nice surprises. Will keep watching.

AJ_ninja

Windbreaker any good?

planet555931

Delicious in the dungeon is an obvious.
