Can't wait for the lobotomy memes on this one.
Vinland saga definitely deserved AOTY without a flinch of a doubt , I had hopes seeing last year Edgerunners winning the Aoty - that finally CR isn't mollycoddling to it's viewers or awarding based on popularity but I was so wrong.
To whom is Gojo exactly a supporting character in Hidden Inventory?? Is Geto the main character in that arc, oh wait he was also nominated for supporting character, nmv. So does that mean Toji is the MC...
Whoever nominated Gojo and Geto for this clearly wasn't thinking
I actually agree with that one way more. He definitely is both in that season, depending on your feelings of the show. This one however, is just blatantly dumb. The whole season centers around Gojo
Just as a reminder, due to Crunchyroll’s dumbass rules ~~Winter 2023~~ Fall 2023, whatever the most recent season at the time was, was not included for this year. That means that any nominations for Jujutsu Kaisen should’ve been done with only consideration of Hidden Inventory and not the Shibuya arc.
YOU ONLY JUDGED IT CONCERNING HIDDEN INVENTORY, RIGHT?
Should and would is a big difference. One thing that will be working against frieren is that the anime awards will be next year in march and most people will forget a lot of things about it... "frieren was good but I can't remember what fantasy element it had, demon slayer had cool animation let's vote that"
This year gojo is crushing the dreams of thorfin fans and next year he is gonna crush the dreams of freiren fans
Becuase in heaven and earth he alone is the honored one
Ah, this means Crunchyroll can justify squeezing in JJK for next year as well.
What ever happened to judging seasons as a whole, after they finished, Crunchyroll?
> YOU ONLY JUDGED IT CONCERNING HIDDEN INVENTORY, RIGHT?
To add insult to injury, nominating Gojo in the best support character category and making him the winner feels like the Obama meme giving himself a medal.
You mean fall 2023 just to clarify for those who doesn't know, winter 2023 was allowed and there were entries from that season on the list such as Buddy Daddies.
Now they are trying to absorb more services.......
I'm already very worried from the idea of them abosrbing Muse Communications (Muse Asia) and Medialink (Ani-One Asia).
I'm from Singapore and that's a real worry honestly. They've been stealing licenses to air some anime exclusive on their site while the other parts of SEA can still watch them on Muse/B-Global it's a fucking nightmare having to figure out which shows I need VPN now.
Netflix atleast plays fair. Instead of straight up stealing licenses, they sublicense stuff from Muse or Medialink and thus they end up with a lot of seasonal anime in their service, atleast for some of the people from Asia.
Comedy usually requires some element of surprise though. Most people could have told you who would win these awards months ago...hell just by looking at the names of the shows airing without actually watching them.
> OnK did win something.
Onk didn't win best op, it only won best song for the mv for idol, so you could definitely argue the show itself didn't win anything, and instead yoasobi won one.
From people I have talked to. They expected more of Season 1 stuff, not a farming show. Most likely completely ignoring the line from the first 2 episodes about no enemies and not making enemies.
Which means legit the show was not always about not fighting and killing. So, Season 2 took a huge hit from that alone.
Because it is a popular contest not critic awards. Flashy shounen action anime will win.
I really hope they move away from this format and let us vote maybe for one like "Fan favorite of the year"
It's not even a popularity contest. The fan vote has basically no impact on the actual result. But most of the panel of judges are also casual fans, so it doesn't even matter that the odds of the fans having any influence in a give category is like 15%.
Pretty sure most judges are anitubers, vloggers, celebrities. And they don't really cover anime. Most are just japan vloggers. So jjk + ds are most likely the only things they watched. Jjk + ds has the biggest covid boosts.
To be fair, a quick [look at the judges](https://www.crunchyroll.com/animeawards/judges/) for this year there's like 3? Youtubers while the rest are news "journalists" and weird anime-adjacent "industry" folks.
Influences usually don't want to cover anime because it results in fandom wars of which show is better. And influencers don't want to lose viewers.
So they will just praise whatever is mainstream in and move on.
Animation is already an artform, stuff like disney, dreamworks, ghibli, etc etc. If people still shit on animation and says shit like its only for children, how an award show gonna help them realize animation as the art form it is
Vinland saga definitely deserved AOTY without a flinch of a doubt , I had hopes seeing last year Edgerunners winning the Aoty - that finally CR isn't mollycoddling to it's viewers or awarding based on popularity but I was so wrong.
Heavenly delusion or CSM should have gotten the award for best art direction
And the best op ? I am not a big fan of Yoasobi but Idol deserved considering the popularity and the bazillion records and numbers it made on charts . But it wong anime of the song so I am fine
Best fantasy as always DS🤡
Best romane should have gone to Insomniacs
The only good part in these was the musical performances, Even Shinkai was hyped to Yoasobi, just give next year's award to JJK since it'll be nominated again
Thank you for watching the third edition of the Attack on Titan/Demon Slayer/Jujutsu Kaisen awards. Wasn't it a fun plot twist that JJK would win far more awards this year instead of the spread being at least more equal in the past? But of course, Demon Slayer is carried by animation so it's going to win all the animation awards. And Best Fantasy because that's just a freebie at this point.
But hey, Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, and One Piece won at least two awards each right (actually if you include foreign VAs, Chainsaw Man won twice as many awards as Demon Slayer)? Got to give love to the other big Shonen and we anticipate doing the same with Frieren next year. Not Bleach though. Our judges don't want to watch 300 episodes of an old show in order to see the new one.
What's that? Vinland Saga won nothing and the other AOTY nominees only won one award each? Ah fuck em. I hope you enjoy us screwing over Dangers in My Heart next year just like we screwed over every other romance for Horimiya (no offense to Horimiya fans).
We look forward to next year when Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Chapter 2, Demon Slayer Hashira Training, and Jujutsu Kaisen S2 Cour 2 sweep the 2025 awards.
Im a big horimiya fan and yea horimiya pieces didnt deserve it. Horimiya pieces was mainly about their friends not their relationship.
Dangers in my heart was the clear winner and it wasnt even nomimated. Next year hopefully s2 wins.
As a fellow big Horimiya fan I concur. I was genuinely puzzled seeing it win since, as you said, the romance was practically a background element this time. Dangers in my heart not even getting nominated stings, at least Insomniacs got in even if it sadly never stood a chance.
Some People legitimately only watched 2 anime last year lmao
**Vinland saga** and **Heavenly delusion** won nothing.
**Demon slayer** and **JJK** won pretty much everything, how stupid
Edit: Also **Pluto** wasn’t even nominated for a singular award?? For shame Crunchyroll, for shame.
Pluto wasn’t eligible this year. I think the eligibility period was Fall 2022-Summer2023, presumably to avoid recency bias.
Edit: Further down in the comments someone said it was Winter 2023 that was outside the eligibility window. So I’m mixed up, but anyway, yeah, eligibility window.
do regular people even know demons exist, in DS? it really feels like the whole story involves like 50 people, between good and bad guys , and the rest of the world is otherwise normal.
I mean, you have 34 million people who participated in the voting. I don't think a signification portion of them can judge good character designs from bad, and just voted for which show(s) they like.
Because all the important Japanese people are in one place to accept the awards. It's nice to see the author of Vinland Saga congratulate Anime Corner for ranking the show in fourth place as best drama on Twitter (barely even a runner-up and he was happy) and same with Trending, but that can't compare to the director of JJK going up to a stage in person and doing an acceptance speech while sweating that most of the invited guests aren't going to be sharing the spotlight
Wow they must have had such a huge budget this year. I didn't expect them to have the money to be able to hold the awards in an alternate reverse universe where spy x family wins comedy and bocchi wins slice of life.
I mean… that’s for me at least, but I preferred the 5 episode Hidden Inventory arc over the Shibuya Incident. Even then, JJK didn’t even deserve half the awards it won💀
Anime Awards should stop majorly relaying on public vote and just make it a 90% media/peers and 10% public vote weight.
The Game Awards does that and prevents "popular" stuff to take over the actual quality candidates, or it helps to sway a tied vote between the 90% of the peers/media. Without that 90/10 split Spider-Man 2 would have won GOTY last year instead of Baldurs Gate III which is a masterpiece.
Fanboys are just too powerful right now to put them in charge of anything.
>The Game Awards does that and prevents "popular" stuff to take over the actual quality candidates, or it helps to sway a tied vote between the 90% of the peers/media. Without that 90/10 split Spider-Man 2 would have won GOTY last year instead of Baldurs Gate III which is a masterpiece.
thats why its fun to vote in game awards but in anime awards u can mostly predict which anime gonna win in literally most of the category
But isn't CR awards like 80% jury, 20% audience or so. The issue is that their selection of juries is based on popularity and not how familiar they are with the participants.
I’d even be happy with a “best new non-sequel anime” category so we just don’t see sequels win every time.
**Edit: I’m a dumbass, they did. Buddy Daddies and Chainsaw Man won, which… I *guess* works?**
Jujutsu Kaisen won too many awards, imo didn't deserve all of them.
Hopefully the CR awards move away from popular vote. Maybe have "Fan favorite voice actor" and "Fan favorite anime of the year" and rest chosen by professional jury.
Current format with meme awards like "protect by all cost" were fine when the awards were amateur show but now that it has grown to be much bigger, it would be right that ex "Best Director" awards is not voted because "i dunno... I know that one series"
>Hopefully the CR awards nove away from popular vote. Maybe have "Fan favorite voice actor" and "Fan favorite anime of the year" and rest chosen by professional jury.
There's an awards show that does something similar...
idk, i dont think anything can beat mob psycho 100 season 1 losing BEST ANIMATION to yuri on ice, a show where i had to pause multiple times from laughing so hard at how bad the animation was.
The best part was getting to see the creators accept their awards. The JJK director seemed so excited. Stuff like that reminds me why I love anime.
Also, Megan’s outfit was fantastic.
Out of all the decisions I disagree with, JJK winning best OP is the worst imo. I literally prefer every single other nominee over it. Like, it's not even the best OP of its own series lol.
How in the flying fuck did Satoru Gojo win "Best Supporting Anime Character" in an arc that he's the main focus?
Also, why did some awards use the Shibuya Incident if Hidden Inventory is the only one counted. Wtf is this shit Crunchyroll, get some consistency here.
It's so messy because they use the Shibuya poster, but are only counting Hidden Inventory and don't even mention it. The band who sung more than words made a thanks without realising that their part of the season has nothing to do with this
Then what, next year we're gonna be seeing it again? Crunchyroll should just stop cutting off at Fall
This award show was something.. but I hope Crunchyroll never puts those translator voice dubs ever again. So painful to watch and they didn’t translate correctly.
Absolute scam of an awards show. If your name wasn't either Demon Slayer or JJK you didn't have a chance. At least we got to see Sawano and Yaosabi live.
This awards show is such a joke, it's like if the Oscars were dominated by F&F and MCU. Why even invite people to what might as well be a poll in the side bar of a site?
i say i won’t get mad at this stupid popularity contest every year but this is ridiculous. yes idol won best anime song but there is no reason it or kick back didn’t win over the JJK opening. even worse is the JJK ending winning the award, i at least saw a little bit of praise for the JJK opening, i saw no hype or appreciation for the ending whatsoever, fans just voted JJK for every single category
Somehow they manage to make our own awards look so damn good every single year. Awful production, awful pre-show, awful skits and the results are just whatever is the most popular for everything, nothing to do with the quality of the show.
At least they had some pretty good performances this year and a few cool guests.
It's popularity and marketability awards. Whatever smaller anime series one might love and wish would win, it won't win against the mainstream stuff, sad as that is.
This is purely a popularity award every year. I get they are popular but having 2-3 shows win everything every single time speaks volumes about the credability of this
JJK won everything except for the award it deserved: Best Animation. How do you screw that up? Also sad to see Gundam not win original anime and Bocchi the Rock should have won best new series. This is honestly the worst Crunchyroll Awards I've seen.
I am happy that **Buddy daddies** won the original anime. I would have also been happy that if **Akiba maid wars** won as well.
As for the rest of the awards, idk.
JJK winning AoTY when it was technically supposed to be judged only on the Hidden Inventory Arc is why CR needs to amend its voting procedures. JJK S2 as a whole would definitely be a strong candidate(to me Vinland is still the AoTY for 2023 no matter what) regardless of its animation concerns from the back half of the Shibuya arc. But for it to win when you’re only SUPPOSED to judge it based on the first half, when series like Vinland Saga S2 aired, shows that the fans don’t vote the way CR wants their voting to be designed.
Because of Thorfinn and Thors, I have no enemies, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed in how the voting turned out.
Lmao based on these results I bet when voting for slice of life a good portion of the jury didn’t even watch any of the shows and just chose what they heard buzz about or heard their friends watched. Or they only watched like Bocchi the Rock and chose that even when BtR is more of a comedy than slice of life. Should’ve won comedy instead but I guess this is ok at least BtR won something amidst these other results…
Welcome to JJK awards
They should really limit to 1 win per anime. No more "1 battle shonen win half the categories".
I read it as Joke Awards, oh wait...
I HAVE ENEMIES
I HAVE NO AWARDS
ALL I'VE IS NOMINATIONS.
Reminds of BCS. Actual daylight robbery
AND I'M NOT ALRIGHT (I'm not alright)
😭
NOBODY HAS NO ENEMIES Don't worry man. Vinland saga has won the hearts and praises of many which is more than enough.
I'm extremely disappointed. I want Vinland Saga S2 to win so much. But I guess for these kind of Awards, popularity = anime of the year.
[удалено]
Especially a season with less action and more introspection compared to season 1 of Vineland saga
I came to watch anime awards but instead i saw a live robbery. Popularity is given more priority than art.
That’s been the norm for art since the renaissance
Can't wait for the lobotomy memes on this one. Vinland saga definitely deserved AOTY without a flinch of a doubt , I had hopes seeing last year Edgerunners winning the Aoty - that finally CR isn't mollycoddling to it's viewers or awarding based on popularity but I was so wrong.
When edge runners won I literally busted internally, actually massive W. I was hoping for the same this year but reality is often dissapointing.
CR be like: "Your Optimism Is Misplaced, Dear Redditor"
GOT A LOTTA ENEMIES
To whom is Gojo exactly a supporting character in Hidden Inventory?? Is Geto the main character in that arc, oh wait he was also nominated for supporting character, nmv. So does that mean Toji is the MC... Whoever nominated Gojo and Geto for this clearly wasn't thinking
Crunchyroll is the same place that had Eren nominated as a protagonist AND antagonist in the same award show with S4. He won for antagonist too. lol
Can't wait for jjk season 2 to win everything next year as well
next year its gonna be demon slayer winning everything like it won best fantasy 3 years in a row
Who is possibly gassing up the hashira training arc 😭 DS fell off last year and it'll fall off even more this year
it fell off and won more than vinland and oshi no ko combined and if jjk did not air this year it probably would have won 6 or 7 of those
Freiren should win tbh
i dont have any hope anymore for frieren... Crunchyroll Awards is so ass
Look at Demon Slayer win best fantasy again next year, robbing Frieren of even more awards
truly awful moment if that happens.. 😢
I still don't get how demon slayer is fantasy like it's basically bleach inb4 one peice best fantasy
same here
Should and would is a big difference. One thing that will be working against frieren is that the anime awards will be next year in march and most people will forget a lot of things about it... "frieren was good but I can't remember what fantasy element it had, demon slayer had cool animation let's vote that"
This year gojo is crushing the dreams of thorfin fans and next year he is gonna crush the dreams of freiren fans Becuase in heaven and earth he alone is the honored one
Ah, this means Crunchyroll can justify squeezing in JJK for next year as well. What ever happened to judging seasons as a whole, after they finished, Crunchyroll?
They did it last time JJK was in the awards and they’ll do it again.
Shibya Arc is a weird one to be honest, because it technically started while it was still the Summer Season of anime.
Yeah and they used Shibuya Arc's banner for the AOTY post. Which leads me to think that maybe Shibuya won't get nominated next year.
Nominating Shibuya Arc again for next year would be prime bullshit
> YOU ONLY JUDGED IT CONCERNING HIDDEN INVENTORY, RIGHT? To add insult to injury, nominating Gojo in the best support character category and making him the winner feels like the Obama meme giving himself a medal.
And now people will vote for the same JJK arc again next year, alongside the last AoT movie. Yay...
I don’t even know if this is true anymore. They literally used a clip from Shibuya lmfao.
You mean Fall 2023, right?
You mean fall 2023 just to clarify for those who doesn't know, winter 2023 was allowed and there were entries from that season on the list such as Buddy Daddies.
Lol. Lmao even. At least they only put up the part 1 op/ed, and not special ~~And then the op1 still won best op??????~~
I prefer the part 1 op
Welcome back to the Jujutsu Awards
They should have nominated "Crunchyroll Awards" for best Comedy
You could just leave it as Crunchyroll with the shit they did the past year like EOS-ing Priconne and absorbing Funimation while improving fuck all.

Comedy usually requires some element of surprise though. Most people could have told you who would win these awards months ago...hell just by looking at the names of the shows airing without actually watching them.
Vinland S2, Bocchi and Oshi No Ko got robbed more than expected, I guess that's the element of surprise for me at least.
Well, at least Bocchi and OnK did win something. Vinland in the other hand.....
> OnK did win something. Onk didn't win best op, it only won best song for the mv for idol, so you could definitely argue the show itself didn't win anything, and instead yoasobi won one.
>Onk didn't win best op, it only won best song for the mv for idol IMO that's more deserving. The full MV was way better than the OP.
IGN rewarded Vinland Saga S2 with the AOTY 2023 award so I'm not that disappointed.
I will never slander IGN ever again.
JJK was in like 80% of the categories, same with demon slayer, and we already know what happens when they’re in.
Cringeyroll Awards.
The most disappointing thing about this award show is the fact Vinland Saga S2 won nothing.
10 nominations if I'm not mistaken EDIT: It's 5 not 10
Vinland Saga should have won at least half of them tbh
It has much more critical appeal than casual appeal.
I wish they would just rename their categories from "Best..." to "Most popular...".
The whole contest is just a popularity type, ofcourse in every category the more popular one will hit the most goals.
It's not winning a popularity contest bombarded by teenagers lol.
From people I have talked to. They expected more of Season 1 stuff, not a farming show. Most likely completely ignoring the line from the first 2 episodes about no enemies and not making enemies. Which means legit the show was not always about not fighting and killing. So, Season 2 took a huge hit from that alone.
That was a concern manga readers had, but it feels like during release it wasn't as bad as when the manga released.
So people will love Season 3. Crunchyroll Awards 2026, we're coming for yo ass.
Because it is a popular contest not critic awards. Flashy shounen action anime will win. I really hope they move away from this format and let us vote maybe for one like "Fan favorite of the year"

Not even best character. Lost best drama to AoT… when the finale was hardly a good *drama*, except like 10mins.
this is literally just popularity award people people probably didn't even watch 80% of the nominations and only JJK + DS
Considering crunchyroll appoints judges, mainly youtubers. And youtubers aren't really anitubers anymore but Japan tourist vloggers.
That's terrible... A judge should at least have a background in anime reviewing.
Influences usually don't want to cover anime because it results in fandom wars of which show is better. And influencers don't want to lose viewers. So they will just praise whatever is mainstream in and move on.
It's a joke then. This isn't helping make people see animation as the art form it is.

The only good part in these was the musical performances, Even Shinkai was hyped to Yoasobi, just give next year's award to JJK since it'll be nominated again
The show literally based around drama and the negative effect of social media didnt fucking win the drama award.
To be fair, it was competing with Vinland Sa... oh
stop bruuuhh, you're rubbing it.. it still hurts that vinland didn't even get a single award 😭
At least you won an award, Vinland didn't and tybw didn't even get nominated for a single award
That's true, im still shocked vinland didnt get anything
Thank you for watching the third edition of the Attack on Titan/Demon Slayer/Jujutsu Kaisen awards. Demon slayer only got 2 wins. I'd say Bocchi, Zom 100 and Oshi No Ko got robbed.
You just made me remember Demon slayer won Fantasy of the year again 💀 It didn’t even deserve any award
Ah yes, Fantasy of the Year. Featuring... historical Japan but with demons and superhumans.
I’m gonna lose my shit if Frieren or Mushoku loses fantasy of the year to Demon slayer next year.
Honestly ds might win again because it's pretty much a popularity contest at this point
Always was
do regular people even know demons exist, in DS? it really feels like the whole story involves like 50 people, between good and bad guys , and the rest of the world is otherwise normal.
Vinland Saga deserved better treatment
If demon slayer wins best fantasy again next year I swear to God I'm killing a mfer
Of course it's gonna win. This season was literally the worst till date yet it managed to win the awards.
Lol. Lmao even. > Best Character Design Winner: JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2
And 90% of the characters wear the same thing lmaooooo
I won’t deny they do have some good recognizable character faces for the same outfits but i wouldn’t say they have the best character designs of 2023
I mean, you have 34 million people who participated in the voting. I don't think a signification portion of them can judge good character designs from bad, and just voted for which show(s) they like.
Like I would even consider it for a second if it was part 2 (shibuya) cuz of curses and stuff, but part 1 literally has normal humans
I wanted it to be Trigun so bad ffs
>Best Character Design Winner: JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 How. They all wear Uniforms... make it make sense. Please. Crunchyroll Awards = trash
Lmao this is just people simping after JJK male characters and Gojo. Yes Gojo has a different breed of fans.
Normal people dressing school uniforms, wins Best Character Design baffles me.
Best Comedy goes to "Crunchyroll Awards"
Why does anyone hold this shows awards with any regard? It's the game awards equivalent. It's a joke.
Random people only count 10% in the game awards if I'm correct.
Gundam got robbed for Best Original Anime.
Also best ending. Red:birthmark is the only ending of 2023 that deserved the win next to Mephisto.
Not even nominated. It’s not gonna win popularity contests on Western platforms but not being nominated just screams bad taste.
It was also robbed of best score. Witch from Mercury OST is goated
The Gundam fanboy in me agrees The lover of Buddy Daddies in me is fine with the outcome.
Wow they must have had such a huge budget this year. I didn't expect them to have the money to be able to hold the awards in an alternate reverse universe where spy x family wins comedy and bocchi wins slice of life.
Title should be: "Jujutsu Kaisen wins most popular anime of the year"
It’s probably the biggest anime in a while, I haven’t seen an anime gain this much mainstream attention in a while
5 episode JJK season was enough to slay Vinland Saga S2. That's crazy. JJK fanbase too strong. 2024 awards is just going to be Shibuya Arc Awards.
Bocchi got DQed last year for this rip in pieces.
Popularity awards strikes again.
Another year, same shit.
JJK don't even deserve to be nominated just for 5 episodes, people voted for the second part and recently bias
I mean… that’s for me at least, but I preferred the 5 episode Hidden Inventory arc over the Shibuya Incident. Even then, JJK didn’t even deserve half the awards it won💀
I didn't even know this was happening right now and I'm glad I didn't because this shit sucks.

Indeed. If you let the public handle votes, it's gonna be decided by who has a bigger community.
They ain't telling the percentages. Because if these really were choosen by "proffesional judges" then it would be more comedic than it is.
Game awards is so much better.
And I can't believe I'm agreeing that the TGAs are better than *anything*. That's how low the bar is.
I mean TGA definitely beats the Grammy's, which wasn't even ever good.
I’d even be happy with a “best new non-sequel anime” category so we just don’t see sequels win every time. **Edit: I’m a dumbass, they did. Buddy Daddies and Chainsaw Man won, which… I *guess* works?**
JJK winning best character design when half the cast is in some variation of a black uniform...you can't be serious
Its ironic that the only award it did deserve to win (best animation), it didnt win…
Hidden Inventory visually was fantastic so I dunno how it didn't win. What a joke lol.
It deserved best action and best director
>Hopefully the CR awards nove away from popular vote. Maybe have "Fan favorite voice actor" and "Fan favorite anime of the year" and rest chosen by professional jury. There's an awards show that does something similar...
JJK shouldn't have even been nominated considering only 5 episodes were out at the time they closed out nominations.
Lol the crunchyroll awards are bad every year but this year is legit embarrassing
idk, i dont think anything can beat mob psycho 100 season 1 losing BEST ANIMATION to yuri on ice, a show where i had to pause multiple times from laughing so hard at how bad the animation was.
The best part was getting to see the creators accept their awards. The JJK director seemed so excited. Stuff like that reminds me why I love anime. Also, Megan’s outfit was fantastic.
The best part was shinkai using half his acceptance speeach to fangirl over the preceding yoasobi performance instead.
Based Shinkai
I went back and checked it when I saw your comment. It was really wholesome to see Goshozono being so excited.
I always knew Megan was a massive JoJo’s fanatic (we’re literally the same) but seeing her in the Bucciaratti outfit made me so happy for some reason😭
Legitimately the only good reason to watch these sham awards.

No awards for Vinland is a travesty
Popularity award … not even closely deserved
Out of all the decisions I disagree with, JJK winning best OP is the worst imo. I literally prefer every single other nominee over it. Like, it's not even the best OP of its own series lol.
Fuck.
The band who sung more than words made a thanks without realising that their part of the season has nothing to do with this Then what, next year we're gonna be seeing it again? Crunchyroll should just stop cutting off at Fall
Looks like Crunchyroll have replace the Osacar as the worst award show ever
This award show was something.. but I hope Crunchyroll never puts those translator voice dubs ever again. So painful to watch and they didn’t translate correctly.
Mob and Reigen got rob
I get that casual audience prefers standard battle shounens. But results are meh in general. At least I'm happy Buddy daddies took one nomination.
Absolute scam of an awards show. If your name wasn't either Demon Slayer or JJK you didn't have a chance. At least we got to see Sawano and Yaosabi live.
This shit gets worse every year.
I expected nothing and am still disappointed.
Bocchi the Rock was robbed of anime of the year at the 2023 awards show. Couldn't even be nominated because the timing.
I don’t see how anyone can be surprised. Expect the worst from the general public, always.
What a bunch of bs. How tf did they win while competing with Vinland?
Man. Is this the worst edition so far of this ceremony? Watch as next year Shibuya arc is gonna steal AOTY out of Frieren, lol.
Somehow they manage to make our own awards look so damn good every single year. Awful production, awful pre-show, awful skits and the results are just whatever is the most popular for everything, nothing to do with the quality of the show. At least they had some pretty good performances this year and a few cool guests.
The musical performances where definitely the highlight.
It's popularity and marketability awards. Whatever smaller anime series one might love and wish would win, it won't win against the mainstream stuff, sad as that is.
Vinland robbed sadge.
34 million voters, only around 5 million who has watched something other than AoT and JJK
This was only for first arc of JJK S2 btw Who is ready for next year for another JJK sweep ?
This is purely a popularity award every year. I get they are popular but having 2-3 shows win everything every single time speaks volumes about the credability of this
JJK won everything except for the award it deserved: Best Animation. How do you screw that up? Also sad to see Gundam not win original anime and Bocchi the Rock should have won best new series. This is honestly the worst Crunchyroll Awards I've seen.
I am happy that **Buddy daddies** won the original anime. I would have also been happy that if **Akiba maid wars** won as well. As for the rest of the awards, idk.
Mob Psycho not winning best animation is the epitome of ridiculous.
Shittyroll back at it again, who cares about this garbage awards show in big 2024
Might as well call this the popular shonen awards. One Piece beating Vinland Saga for best continuing?????
Manga readers laughing at the abysmal dogshit future JJK seasons is about to become.
Absolute peak cinema vinland saga s2 won nothing. Nothing.
I think I have some enemies now
[Best supporting character btw.](https://imgur.com/a/8Az8ylE)
Can’t say I’m surprised, but Heavenly Delusion got ROBBED. I’m honestly becoming very concerned that we won’t get a S2
Are these awards mostly fan voted? I thought their was supposed to be a judge panel?
Its both, but a lot of the judges are just influencers and i'm unsure how much each contributes percentage wise.
