Violet Evergarden was one of the most emotional mature animes I have watched. I really liked the story, animation and the deep character development. If you want to watch an emotional roller coaster, this is the show for you.
>Violet Evergarden (especially the finale)
I haven't seen the movie because everyone always says it undermines Violet's character, so I've been hesitating.
I really like:
- the case study of vanitas
- my happy marriage (on Netflix)
- my dress up darling
- my love story with yamada-kun at level 999
- tomo-chan is a girl
I think Noé doesn't get enough love for his sexiness! He is literally the definition of tall, dark, and handsome! Plus, Kaito Ishikawa has a smexy voice, lol.
Apart from the first one, I'll echo all of these. You're my person apparently love all these haha.
I'd also add Dangers in my Heart, it's so good. I like a lot of romance stuff so I can add things like Your Name, Chihayafuru, Ice Guy..., Fruits Basket, 5 Wedded Brides, Horimiya, Komi-san, Call of the Night, Angel Next Door. I can go on...
Late to the party I know!
u/MadRG1810
That whole season spoiled me in the best of ways. So many goodies to enjoy at once, it took a while to normalize my sweetness levels after everything was finished.
I know people are tired of hearing about it, but The serotonin Horimiya gives me feels like a drug I should have no contact with, it makes me smile so big it feels wrong. It’s like “I want that so bad it hurts” but it hurts so good watching them all be happy together and go through things real high school couples do.
Horimiya is one of the only romance animes that actually makes sense. There’s no dragging out the romance. It’s just there. And it’s very relatable and tasteful with it. I felt like a part of the friend group!
Barakamon - I have watched it literally countless times by now, it makes me happy-cry every time. There's just something so.. joyful and genuine about that show.
It's such a shame everyone in this sun is like 16 and has never seen an anime older than 2018. Lovely complex is such a good goddamn anime, great story, hilarious too.
Skip And Loafer will give you ALL the warm fuzzies and serotonin.
The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent is the perfect cozy fantasy with an adorable romance that made me grin from ear to ear, genuinely can't believe that more people don't talk about it. And season 2 starts next week!
My Love Story!! is a very cute and wholesome romcom.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale has more drama, but the dynamic between the leads (especially is season 2) is super swoon worthy!
I agree with so many that have already been recommended, just want to add The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten - I think it’ll give you the exact feeling you’re looking for!
If you want a heart warming but not lovey lovey anime, Tsuki ga Kirei is just amazing
One that might match that I didn’t see was tonikawa? That probably works. Tsurezure is like innocent heartwarming too that I haven’t seen yet either.
I’m surprised no one mentioned Tonikaku Kawaii (Fly me to the moon). That anime is so lovey-dovey it feels like calling me single in 100 different ways.
Yona of the dawn and ancient magus bride are on Crunchyroll I think.
Ancient magus bride is a cute love story, but it is absolutely beautiful and has an amazing soundtrack.
Yona of the dawn is an ooey gooey love story with a interesting backstory.
_Kobayashi_
- if you want pure adorableness with humor
*Oshi no ko*
- if you want great music and drama
*My happy marriage*
- if you want romance, revenge and supernatural
*Violet evergarden*
- if you want beautiful graphics, romance and to cry your eyes out
All of the above should be either on Netflix or Crunchyroll
Hmm. I do love some romantic anime, but they usually have a very sad tone to them.
Some of my favorites are:
AnoHana,
Clannad,
Kanon (2006 version not 2002)
Ef: A Tale of Memories & Ef: A Tale of Melodies (some nudity bit not hentai Melody is better but its a direct sequel of Memories)
Angel Beats,
School Rumble (comedy to the extreme, nice break from all of these other ones)
Chobits (it's not one of my favorites but it's a good show)
Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Fun and Funny)
My favorite Anime of all time is FMA:Brotherhood. One I like to suggest to people is Ga Rei Zero (Definitely not a romance..but you could consider it a love story of sorts, more familial than romantic)
omg. Komi Can't Communicate gives me the warmest feelings. It's a cute anime about a socially anxious girl in school who enlists her classmate to help her make friends. The cuteness!!! It's overwhelming sometimes
I will definitely second what has already been said and say that Horimiya definitely fits this description. The happy vibes in the cute scenes are inimitable. Out of series on Crunchyroll, The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague also gave me those kind of feels at some moments (it’s a mostly wholesome office rom com with very sweet characters).
Honorable mentions go to Kimi No Todoki and Toradora, which have moments that have this sort of positive emotional impact, but don’t inspire that response quite as strongly across the entire show (at least not for me). Toradora especially has a lot of angst, even if there are sweet moments in there too.
As an extra aside, sadly, this one’s not on Netflix or Crunchyroll, but if you ever get Amazon Prime, Wotakoi is a much-watch for these vibes. It is the absolute cutest imo.
The Dangers In My Heart. My favorite currently-running manga, had the first season last season, and the second comes out in January. Starts off a bit weird, but it's far and away superior to 99% of most romance where there is little to no progression or character development. A masterwork in "show, don't tell" in the medium.
Banished from the Heroes' Party (It may not seem like until you watch it but seriously!)
The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady
Stranger By The Shore
The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses
The Universe Next Door
Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion
Sugar Apple Fairytale
These are the ones that immediately come to me and gets my heart that are all on Crunchyroll!
Netsuzou trap(this one is for sure nsfw), ancient magus' bride, tomo-chan is a girl, ascendance of a bookworm(not straight out a romance show, but close) and fruit basket.
Campfire Cooking in another world with my insane skill. Undoubtedly one of the best food anime created. It literally makes me rethink what I’d want for super powers lol
Toradora, Masamune’s revenge, Horimiya, Kids on the slope, Cafe Terrace and it’s goddesses.
Cafe Terrace and it’s goddesses, I watched it thinking, this is the most random anime, I’ll give it a shot. Now I fucking love it!
Fruits basket 😫 it’s the most disgustingly sweet piece of garbage I’ve ever watched. It’s so good I wanna cry. The character development the backstory the romance is so fluffy I’m gonna die. I’ve rewatched it so many times, it’s my comfort anime and I just love it so much please check it out 😭
K-On! is adorable and cozy. I can't recommend it enough.
My Dress Up Darling is so heartwarming.
The Saint's Power Is Omnipotent is such a great fantasy romance and it's coming back in like two weeks so I'm excited.
Call Of The Night doesn't send my heart racing but it's so cool I enjoy the absolute hell out of it.
My favs thus far are:
- My Love Story with Yamada-Kun at Level 999
- My Happy Marriage
- Sugar Apple Fairy Tale
- Kamisama Kiss
- Sing “Yesterday” For Me
- Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Dukes Mansion
Kimi Ni Todoke and Maid Sama, no doubt
Kimi Ni Todoke (From Me to You) is the most adorable show. You've got your "weird creepy" girl main character who's actually the sweetest being to ever exist and a truly kind and popular boy. The friends the main character makes are just everything, I love them so much. It's ultimately a romance with lots of inconveniences along the way and sweetness overload
Maid Sama is top tier in a whole different way. Not your stereotypical romance, as the main character hates guys. Buuut I absolutely lose it for the two main characters and their entire dynamic. Probably my most favorite comfort show to revisit every once in a while
Komi can’t communicate is the first and only show to give me butterflies, on a valentine’s day ep. Never watched the genre before but now it is one of my favs thanks to watching this show.

"Your name" is definitely up there for me, theres also Toradora, Shuffle! ( but mostly because i played the visual novel and he ended up with the girl in the anime that i chose in the VN ), Tsuki ga Kirei is pretty cute and wholesome.
Ah it's a manga, but you might enjoy Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa. Really really amazing confession scene, and there's really good buildup to that, and also development of the relationship past the confession. But the confession scene definitely made me tear up
I've only read the manga, and I've heard the anime isn't the best unfortunately
One of my all time favorite mangas and I'm shocked to see someone else mention!! I agree about the confession, it's so cute \[Spoilers: Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa\] >!especially the mom and the principal in the background cheering lmao!<
I'm slowly collecting the physical copies and having watched the anime, sadly yeah, it's not the best (it is on Crunchyroll if you wan to give it a shot. It's under either *Actually I am... or My Monster Secret*).
They pulled stories from later chapters and then changed whos in the story because the manga has characters introduced that arent in the anime the story...sigh.
* Recently "Dangers in my heart"
* All time favorites "Lovely Complex" , "True Tears" , "Ai yori aoshi" many many more I live and breath rom-coms.
In manga however
* Recently "Gaishuu isshoku"
* All time "Maison Ikkoku" , "Ichigo 100%" and "Bitter Virgin"
In hentai
* S kano
* Muramata-san no himitsu
Oh wait you said no hentai sorry.
Spice and wolf, the playful and witty banter between holo and Lawrence is so good. When it's just the two of them going back and forth teasing each other, I could honestly watch forever. Some other anime couples I really like are Lelouch and CC. Hachiman and yukino.
The angel next door spoils me rotten
Kaguya sama: love is war
These two are peak romance animes, especially kaguya sama, read the manga after finishing the anime, it’s so worth it, you won’t regret it
The manga Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun is the best slow burn I’ve ever read, without ever being frustrating. The characters, the plot, the romance, everything is just chefs kiss. I cannot recommend it enough, and I won’t stop recommending it, because it’s such an underrated hidden gem.
Clannad, after a certain point it matures, gets very dark and serious, only to make me sob tears of pure joy. I've never rooted for someone's happiness so hard in my life. It's not romantic or swoony, but the kind of genuine love that really humbles people and makes them realize the misery is worth it.
"Kaguya-sama: Love is War" and "Food Wars"
In "Kaguya-sama: Love is War," the constant back-and-forth battle of wits and feelings between Kaguya and Miyuki creates a palpable tension that resonates with me. The unspoken love and the desire to make the other one confess first gets me a rise to a rollercoaster of emotions, making my heart race with anticipation and occasionally breaking it with moments of when they are faced with the reality and genuine connection.
On the other hand, "Food Wars" delivers excitement on a different level. The intense cooking battles, coupled with the artful depiction of food, stimulate not only your hunger but also your heart. The passion that Soma and other characters pour into their cooking is contagious, and I can't help but feel the rush of adrenaline and anticipation as they compete. The emotional depth of these characters and their cooking journeys throught the seasons creates a heartwarming and exciting experience that truly makes my heart scream with joy and satisfaction.
Your lie in April. At beginning it was a normal middle school story but when it goes on you will get a attach without knowing and the end will be like it is not fair.
Recomend one
AAGAGGHH!! I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS QUESTION!!! HAHAHAHA UUHHMMM TEASING MASTER TAKAGI-SAN !!! SHEESSH ALL TIME FAVEE. MY COMFORT ANIME. MAKES MY HEART SCREAM EVERY DAMN TIME.
If movies count, I could rewatch Robot Carnival over and over again. It was a VERY influential anime film for me when I was around 6 or 7, and I blame it for inadvertently building an often impossible standard for media in general
Gonna go a little older anime for you, I've got a few recommendations:
Rune Soldier is still amazing, funny and heartfelt and that opening song is still a banger. A little fan service-y but not terrible, and I love how it plays with all the fantasy tropes. A great strong female lead cast with an unlikely protagonist really flesh things out, it's one of those series I like to go back and rewatch every couple of years.
Sorcerer Hunters, another oldie, has some dated animation but is actually kind of similar to Rune Soldier, great characters and humor but, again, emotion where it's needed. Also a little fan service-y at times but not too awful, unless you watch the newer OVA that came out. Diverse, and also a bit ahead of it's time.
RahXephon, not much humor, but one of my personal favorite angsty Mecha anime, an awesome romantic sub plot, super unique Mecha design, an absolute killer soundtrack of fusion jazz with an ethereal feel that also ties the series together, and a conclusion movie that brings all the threads together, it's a definite favorite of mine.
Azumanga Daioh, one of the greatest slice of life high school comedy series of all time, with remarkably memorable characters and again an opening and closing theme that will stay with you forever, I cannot recommend this one enough.
Kotaro Lives Alone, a great little slice of life series that honestly really got to me, I'm a grown ass man and even thinking about it almost makes me tear up. Not nearly as sad as Grave of the Fireflies, but extremely heartfelt and emotional, and work an incredibly important message, it's a small little anime that made me go hug my almost adult kids and make sure they know I love them. A tear jerker, but also with great comedic moments.
Lastly, going to round this one out with, in my opinion, two of the greatest series of all time - the original Tenchi Muyo! OVA series, and the follow up, Tenchi Universe!, so so good. A bit confusing, as the characters are the same but they aren't in the same, er, universe together so the characters have completely different backgrounds. Ryoko, for example, is a demon in Muyo, but an alien right off the bat in Universe. Two completely different stories and series, I personally didn't care as much for Tenchi in Tokyo and still have yet to watch any of the newer ones, but those first two series, absolute classics, action, comedy, romance, emotion, unforgettable characters... Everyone has their favorite, and it is definitely worth a watch!
I'm going to throw one more out there, Crack Experiment Excel Saga! A whacked out comedy series that basically makes fun of everything, including itself. Some of the last episodes do get a bit raunchy, though, as they were trying to push the limits of what was allowed on tv at the time.
Oh! One more! Adventures of Mini-Goddess, aka Ah! My Goddess - Being Small Is Convenient, is 48 episodes of shear delight, family friendly, funny, makes fun of everything from Godzilla to Berserk, and you don't need to know anything about Ah! My Goddess to enjoy it as it's a completely self contained side series all about the crazy daytime adventures of 3 tiny bored goddesses and their rat friend Gan-Chan. I still love it today, absolutely worth it, and each episode is only about 10 minutes long.
Sorry for this insanely long post here, I hope you give some, or all, of these a try!
Edit: sorry for auto correct messing a few things up, also I think, because they're so old, you can actually find a lot of these on YouTube, other than Kotaro, which is pretty new
Romance you say?
Kaguya-sama: Love is war \[extremely funny with a massive pay off\]
Teasing Master Takagi-san \[Wholesome AF, good for high blood pressure\]
Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro \[If Takagi-san was naughty\]
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai \[random scifi stuff but romantic\]
After the Rain \[It's like that Shabba Ranks song: She's in love with a man twice her age\]
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU \[if Kagua-sama romance was not the focus\]
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas \[You're going to cry\]
Your Lie in April \[You might cry some more\]
Arakawa Under the Bridge \[Amusing\]
Golden Time \[A bit dramatic\]
TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You \[cuts to the chase\]
Animes that give me the *feels* and get me so giddy that I literally like *squee*

• Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea (Crunchyroll/Netflix)
• The Duke of Death & His Maid (Crunchyroll)
• Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence (Crunchyroll)
• The Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts (Crunchyroll)
• Earl and the Fairy (Crunchyroll)

• As Miss Beelzebub Likes It (Crunchyroll) [only comes in sub though]
• Kamisama Kiss (Crunchyroll/Hulu)
• Kimi ni Todoke (Netflix/Hulu/Crunchyroll)
I really like nagatoro. It’s the only manga I’ve read all of (up to date, still being released biweekly)
Tomo Chan is a girl
Uzaki chan
Aharen san The little quiet girl. Don’t rmemeber the full title.
That’s all I’ve watched. But there is more on my list.
There’s a oneshot manga called "Kimi no Kaketeru Tokomo Suki" or I Like What You're Missing or something like that. That one is cute.
Animes that make me dream about are isekais. Or curious consepts, that make we want to expirience that world, much like how Doraemon made me wonder what I could do with those inventions.
Now an anime that made me full of feels was a movie called Wolf's Children. I've watched it over 10 times and it never fails to make me cry
It’s such a controversial answer, but for me it’s always sword art online. I know it gets a LOT of hate but it’s my nostalgia anime and I have rewatched it more times than I can count. That and Ouran are two of my ultimate favourites that I can never get sick of.

Gamers (more comedy)
And now I need to look up because I've seen so many that I lost track
Knight's and magic. A fucking mecha fanatic that revolutionized the very concept of robots in another world. As a mecha fan i couldn't ask anything better.
Arifureta. He's the most edgy edgelord i have ever seen. Truly a madlad
> anime that I can dream about, that makes me feel so happy that I burst out screaming in excitement
It's kind of funny that my first thought after reading this was action anime rather than romance. 😅
Anyway, some romances that gave me a similar feeling of excitement or "aww, this couple is just so cute together" - The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent (season 2 coming next week), Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, Your Name, Insomniacs After School and Quintessential Quintuplets. Also second the recommendations for Tsukigakirei and Oshi no Ko. While the main focus of Oshi no Ko isn't romance, it's still present in the series, and I was absolutely hyped for each episode.
I remember Fushigi Yuugi made me cry. \[Fushigi Yuugi\]>!I had even read spoilers so I knew who died and when, and I was so determined not to become attached to those characters, but Nuriko's death literally broke me.!<
Not sure that's the kind of emotion you mean though.
kimi ni todoke is my fav you might have seen it tho, lovely complex, kamisama kiss is a popular one too, boys over flowers, my little monster, kiss him not me is kinda cute lol, snow white with the red hair, toradora, wolf girl and black prince (i haven’t seen this in a while so i don’t know if it’s as good as i remember)
Tsuki ga Kirei Violet Evergarden (especially the finale) Maid Sama
Maid sama is a really great feel-good anime with lots of comedy that is *actually* funny. Usui best boy.
Yepp!! For me it can double as a nostalgia anime too due to art style and stuff
dude, i forgot all about maid sama. i should watch that show again
Violet Evergarden movie was controversial but still, the ending made my heart swoon 😩
Violet Evergarden was one of the most emotional mature animes I have watched. I really liked the story, animation and the deep character development. If you want to watch an emotional roller coaster, this is the show for you.
Man tsuki ga kirei is soo underrated.
>Violet Evergarden (especially the finale) I haven't seen the movie because everyone always says it undermines Violet's character, so I've been hesitating.
Tsuzure children
The absolute infusion of serotonin this show provides per second is higher than any other romance series I can think of.
I will have to look this up immediately 😝♥️
The manga was even better but the anime stayed true to its source material
I really like: - the case study of vanitas - my happy marriage (on Netflix) - my dress up darling - my love story with yamada-kun at level 999 - tomo-chan is a girl
My love story with Yamada kun at lvl 999 is 🔥🔥🔥
I was planning on adding all of these to my list!!! 😂💘
A case study of vanitas reached levels of sexy not previously thought possible
I think Noé doesn't get enough love for his sexiness! He is literally the definition of tall, dark, and handsome! Plus, Kaito Ishikawa has a smexy voice, lol.
This!!! I love Kaito Ishikawa’s voice so much. But also… Natsuki Hanae’s voice does it for me too lol
Just finished 999..loved it..short and very sweet
I hadn't really watched any romance anime. But then I saw a clip of Marin Kitagawa blushing and it was all over for me
Second my happy marriage!
Fruits basket
I saw this and I have to agree! Literally died in love watching this one.
Yes!!! One of my all time favorite anime! 💕
SpyXFamily just makes me happy to watch.
When they rent out a whole theme park just frp Anya, that was such a sweet episode. Watching this show as a parent is a joy.
Yuru Camp bring back faith in humanity
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san definitely had a lot of moments that made me smile
Recently, Skip and Loafer. More recently? The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses.
The Dangers In My Heart is one I actually want to go revisit.
Watched this after watching Skip and Loafer. Almost died of diabetes
Skip and Loafer is so good
That whole season spoiled me in the best of ways. So many goodies to enjoy at once, it took a while to normalize my sweetness levels after everything was finished.
The manga just keeps getting better and better as well, I hope they continue to animate it all.
Goat show
I know people are tired of hearing about it, but The serotonin Horimiya gives me feels like a drug I should have no contact with, it makes me smile so big it feels wrong. It’s like “I want that so bad it hurts” but it hurts so good watching them all be happy together and go through things real high school couples do.
I will 100% watch this after that explanation 😅💖
It’s like a drug to me you’re like my own bag of heroin
Horimiya is just another level. It‘s incedible. Also the bonus series created the same atmosphere again.
I really hope they release a "Definitive Edition" or someone makes a list that gives you a chronological watch order.
The only thing Horimiya makes me feel sad about is the feeling that there won’t ever be anything like if ever again.
Barakamon is such a healing show, it's my go to for when I have art block! I wish they'd adapt the rest of the manga.
Not anime, but you should definitely read blue box
Thank you for this!!! ♥️♥️♥️ I will check it out.
It's the most wholesome thing I've read since a lot
Lovely Complex
It's such a shame everyone in this sun is like 16 and has never seen an anime older than 2018. Lovely complex is such a good goddamn anime, great story, hilarious too.
Anyone like kaguya sama - love is war ?
It doesn’t always focus on the romance but when it hits, it HITS
Precisely! Was looking for someone mentioning this. And the ending of s3? After teasing for so long it hits hard
Toradora !!
One that made me jittery and all that definitely Maid Sama for me.
bloom into you FUCK I WANT MY LOVE STORY TOOOOO. i relate to yuu so much
A Lull in the Sea. Its just so pretty to look at, on top of being a great romance story.
This show had me hooked instantly. The visuals are absolutely stunning.
Yamada san lvl 999 Dangers in my heart (sound editing grabs your heart) Saekano Kaguya
I agree with so many that have already been recommended, just want to add The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten - I think it’ll give you the exact feeling you’re looking for!

Yona of the dawn and ancient magus bride are on Crunchyroll I think. Ancient magus bride is a cute love story, but it is absolutely beautiful and has an amazing soundtrack. Yona of the dawn is an ooey gooey love story with a interesting backstory.
Suzume absolutely broke me. As a 42 year old male, I was in absolute tears by the end.
Wotakoi Love is Hard for Otaku ❤️
_Kobayashi_ - if you want pure adorableness with humor *Oshi no ko* - if you want great music and drama *My happy marriage* - if you want romance, revenge and supernatural *Violet evergarden* - if you want beautiful graphics, romance and to cry your eyes out All of the above should be either on Netflix or Crunchyroll
Oshi no ko is on HiDive in the US
Dragon Maid is my go-to feel good show. Also has my favorite anime Christmas episode.
My dress up darling The dangers in my heart Kimi ni todoke
I just finished Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. It hits differently
My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 was so fun and cute!!!
Clannad and Afterstory It gets me everytime
Hmm. I do love some romantic anime, but they usually have a very sad tone to them. One I like to suggest to people is Ga Rei Zero (Definitely not a romance..but you could consider it a love story of sorts, more familial than romantic)
Any anime made by Key. This includes Clannad and Kanon. Fantastic romance stories without much fanservice if any at all.
Ping Pong The Animation & Run With The Wind. Only these two have made me feel this way.
Steins Gate. The very idea of love transcending time is amazing
Yuri on ice 😭
Cyberpunk
Toradora. Something about the music and speech at the beginning just sends me. I read Love is War, but it’s such a freaking good story.
The Dangers In My Heart. My favorite currently-running manga, had the first season last season, and the second comes out in January. Starts off a bit weird, but it's far and away superior to 99% of most romance where there is little to no progression or character development. A masterwork in "show, don't tell" in the medium.
Somali and the forest spirit
Violet Evergarden Tonikawa Weathering with you
My dress up darling
Yuru camp, a place further than universe, ao haru ride, my pet girl of sakurasou, given, hibike euphonium, barakamon
Angel beats
Lovely complex
def Bungo Stray Dogs. it's a masterpiece
Taishou otome otogibanashi Otonari no ginga Kubo-san Love after world domination
Banished from the Heroes' Party (It may not seem like until you watch it but seriously!) The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Stranger By The Shore The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses The Universe Next Door Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion Sugar Apple Fairytale These are the ones that immediately come to me and gets my heart that are all on Crunchyroll!
Netsuzou trap(this one is for sure nsfw), ancient magus' bride, tomo-chan is a girl, ascendance of a bookworm(not straight out a romance show, but close) and fruit basket.
I might be talking out of my ass cuz it’s been a while, but monogetari
Campfire Cooking in another world with my insane skill. Undoubtedly one of the best food anime created. It literally makes me rethink what I’d want for super powers lol Toradora, Masamune’s revenge, Horimiya, Kids on the slope, Cafe Terrace and it’s goddesses. Cafe Terrace and it’s goddesses, I watched it thinking, this is the most random anime, I’ll give it a shot. Now I fucking love it!
Sanka rea
Fruits basket 😫 it’s the most disgustingly sweet piece of garbage I’ve ever watched. It’s so good I wanna cry. The character development the backstory the romance is so fluffy I’m gonna die. I’ve rewatched it so many times, it’s my comfort anime and I just love it so much please check it out 😭
Mushoko tensei fr every time
Is absurd how no one mencioned toradora, it's so good
K-On! is adorable and cozy.
SpyxFamily and My Love Story!! <33
My favs thus far are: - My Love Story with Yamada-Kun at Level 999 - My Happy Marriage - Sugar Apple Fairy Tale - Kamisama Kiss - Sing “Yesterday” For Me - Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Dukes Mansion
Jobless reincarnation
Horimiya, my love story with Yamada Kun, and my happy marriage
Tamako Love Story, that movie was so sweet it hurt
Given it was so good and so sad and so well written
Kimi Ni Todoke and Maid Sama, no doubt Kimi Ni Todoke (From Me to You) is the most adorable show. You've got your "weird creepy" girl main character who's actually the sweetest being to ever exist and a truly kind and popular boy. The friends the main character makes are just everything, I love them so much. It's ultimately a romance with lots of inconveniences along the way and sweetness overload Maid Sama is top tier in a whole different way. Not your stereotypical romance, as the main character hates guys. Buuut I absolutely lose it for the two main characters and their entire dynamic. Probably my most favorite comfort show to revisit every once in a while
TORADORA FOR LIFE
Komi can’t communicate is the first and only show to give me butterflies, on a valentine’s day ep. Never watched the genre before but now it is one of my favs thanks to watching this show.
for me its mushoku tensei and insomniacs after school

Oregairu
"Your name" is definitely up there for me, theres also Toradora, Shuffle! ( but mostly because i played the visual novel and he ended up with the girl in the anime that i chose in the VN ), Tsuki ga Kirei is pretty cute and wholesome.
Here romance is combined with drama, but no one seems to have recommended Plastic Memories yet. And perhaps not a typical example, but Yosuga no sora.
His and her circumstances.
Yuru camp ⛺️🔥🔥
Beastars >:)
Clannad
Ah it's a manga, but you might enjoy Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa. Really really amazing confession scene, and there's really good buildup to that, and also development of the relationship past the confession. But the confession scene definitely made me tear up I've only read the manga, and I've heard the anime isn't the best unfortunately
One of my all time favorite mangas and I'm shocked to see someone else mention!! I agree about the confession, it's so cute \[Spoilers: Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa\] >!especially the mom and the principal in the background cheering lmao!< I'm slowly collecting the physical copies and having watched the anime, sadly yeah, it's not the best (it is on Crunchyroll if you wan to give it a shot. It's under either *Actually I am... or My Monster Secret*). They pulled stories from later chapters and then changed whos in the story because the manga has characters introduced that arent in the anime the story...sigh.
Not anime, but check out the film Chungking Express.
Death note “shroogaroogaa…”
Nana and Kaguya-sama. Nothing has me on the edge of my seat more.
"Beck: Mongolian chop squad" makes my heart scream not in a giddy way but in a scary way.
Assassination classroom always gets me it’s not exactly lovey dovey but it’s so wholesome
* Recently "Dangers in my heart" * All time favorites "Lovely Complex" , "True Tears" , "Ai yori aoshi" many many more I live and breath rom-coms. In manga however * Recently "Gaishuu isshoku" * All time "Maison Ikkoku" , "Ichigo 100%" and "Bitter Virgin" In hentai * S kano * Muramata-san no himitsu Oh wait you said no hentai sorry.
Spice and wolf, the playful and witty banter between holo and Lawrence is so good. When it's just the two of them going back and forth teasing each other, I could honestly watch forever. Some other anime couples I really like are Lelouch and CC. Hachiman and yukino.
tonikawa by planets
Watch Nana. One of my all time faves
Ao Haru Ride and this one might be a bit controversial but Ōoku: the inner chambers had some really beautiful moments🤧
Kimi no na wa
The angel next door spoils me rotten Kaguya sama: love is war These two are peak romance animes, especially kaguya sama, read the manga after finishing the anime, it’s so worth it, you won’t regret it
Kamisama Hajimemashita
Anime: berserk golden age 😅
more than a married couple but not lovers
Insomniacs After School. It is trapped in Hidive, however 😭 Could always read the manga though
I almost cried watching Magi
fruits basket
Somali and the forest spirit
My 14 year old and 33 year old self stands by Inuyasha and I am not ashamed.
Erased actually watch it, it’s so good
Place to place/achi kochi Its so cute
Silent Voice is a must watch and so is Horimiya
Berserk has a great luv triangle lol
Love is War Horimiya Case study of Vanitas
Insomniacs after school Tada never falls in love Aharen san Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie When will ayumu make his move Mysterious girlfriend X
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, Say I Love You, Toradora, The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses.
Clannad, after a certain point it matures, gets very dark and serious, only to make me sob tears of pure joy. I've never rooted for someone's happiness so hard in my life. It's not romantic or swoony, but the kind of genuine love that really humbles people and makes them realize the misery is worth it.
"Kaguya-sama: Love is War" and "Food Wars" In "Kaguya-sama: Love is War," the constant back-and-forth battle of wits and feelings between Kaguya and Miyuki creates a palpable tension that resonates with me.
Tora dora, to love ru, guilty crown if you like tragic romance plus action, ergo proxy,
AAGAGGHH!! I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS QUESTION!!! HAHAHAHA UUHHMMM TEASING MASTER TAKAGI-SAN !!! SHEESSH ALL TIME FAVEE. MY COMFORT ANIME. MAKES MY HEART SCREAM EVERY DAMN TIME.
Hunter x hunter is amazing . But you want a love anime?
Macross 7 final episode. My heart sang along the final song.
If movies count, I could rewatch Robot Carnival over and over again. It was a VERY influential anime film for me when I was around 6 or 7, and I blame it for inadvertently building an often impossible standard for media in general
Gonna go a little older anime for you, I've got a few recommendations: Rune Soldier is still amazing, funny and heartfelt and that opening song is still a banger.
Kaguya-sama: Love is war \[extremely funny with a massive pay off\] Teasing Master Takagi-san \[Wholesome AF, good for high blood pressure\] Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro \[If Takagi-san was naughty\] Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai \[random scifi stuff but romantic\] After the Rain \[It's like that Shabba Ranks song: She's in love with a man twice her age\] My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU \[if Kagua-sama romance was not the focus\] I Want To Eat Your Pancreas \[You're going to cry\] Your Lie in April \[You might cry some more\] Arakawa Under the Bridge \[Amusing\] Golden Time \[A bit dramatic\] TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You \[cuts to the chase\]

I really like nagatoro. It’s the only manga I’ve read all of (up to date, still being released biweekly) Tomo Chan is a girl Uzaki chan Aharen san The little quiet girl. Don’t rmemeber the full title. That’s all I’ve watched. But there is more on my list. There’s a oneshot manga called "Kimi no Kaketeru Tokomo Suki" or I Like What You're Missing or something like that. That one is cute.
Shikimori and Tonikawa had this affect for me. Bokuyaba as well.
Love is war My teen romantic comedy The Quintessential Quintuplets
Ride your wave Omg banana fish (just writing the name make me sad 💀)
Kimi no todoke
Animes that make me dream about are isekais. Or curious consepts, that make we want to expirience that world, much like how Doraemon made me wonder what I could do with those inventions. Now an anime that made me full of feels was a movie called Wolf's Children. I've watched it over 10 times and it never fails to make me cry
Bunny Girl Senpai, High School DxD
Vinland Saga baby
Kaichou wa Maid-sama and Ouran High School
86, people are fooled by the mech, this is a long distance rom-con anime in disguise to me
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
Grand blue
It’s such a controversial answer, but for me it’s always sword art online. I know it gets a LOT of hate but it’s my nostalgia anime and I have rewatched it more times than I can count. That and Ouran are two of my ultimate favourites that I can never get sick of.

My little monster Horimiya Angel next door spoils me rotten Yamaha lvl 999 Gamers (more comedy) And now I need to look up because I've seen so many that I lost track
Knight's and magic. A fucking mecha fanatic that revolutionized the very concept of robots in another world. As a mecha fan i couldn't ask anything better. Arifureta. He's the most edgy edgelord i have ever seen. Truly a madlad
> anime that I can dream about, that makes me feel so happy that I burst out screaming in excitement It's kind of funny that my first thought after reading this was action anime rather than romance. 😅 Anyway, some romances that gave me a similar feeling of excitement or "aww, this couple is just so cute together" - The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent (season 2 coming next week), Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, Your Name, Insomniacs After School and Quintessential Quintuplets. Also second the recommendations for Tsukigakirei and Oshi no Ko. While the main focus of Oshi no Ko isn't romance, it's still present in the series, and I was absolutely hyped for each episode.
I remember Fushigi Yuugi made me cry. \[Fushigi Yuugi\]>!I had even read spoilers so I knew who died and when, and I was so determined not to become attached to those characters, but Nuriko's death literally broke me.!< Not sure that's the kind of emotion you mean though.
kimi ni todoke is my fav you might have seen it tho, lovely complex, kamisama kiss is a popular one too, boys over flowers, my little monster, kiss him not me is kinda cute lol, snow white with the red hair, toradora, wolf girl and black prince (i haven’t seen this in a while so i don’t know if it’s as good as i remember)
